Despite there were a lot of strong statements made in that particular chapter, personally I believe that quote was the most powerful one. The reason why I am posting this is because I found that reading to be quite interesting and engaging. To be completely honest, when I looked at the topic, the first thought I had was that it would be irrelevant for our project. But after reading, I realised it was actually worth the effort.

One of the biggest struggles I assumed we will have regarding the realisation of our project was the funding. But in that chapter, I found some really useful ways of funding for creative projects. There were several crowdfunding platforms mentioned, which I believe could be quite useful.

Then, another thing that I found quite inspirational was what Gauntlett (2014) says regarding the amateur making. He states that people, who want to “make their mark on the world in some way” and who want to share their message with others, are doing that not because they have to, but “because they want to”. So that particular thought made me think about the whole project. We “have to” do the projects since we are marked on them. But, what I believe the whole module aims is to get us to that point where we are doing something because we want to. Thus, if we do something that we want to, we will feel motivated and the end result will be more than pleasing. We will be willing to collaborate and work in teams not because we “have to”, but simply because we “want to” achieve something.
