The thing with Gaster in Undertale is that theorizing about him was always pretty fun, as we needed to go into the game's guts to even know about him, which completely fits the bill on his themes... and yet the fandom space around him tended to go with some caveats, because like, there was this long period where people kept doing that thing they always do where they would take a lady character's accomplishments (Alphys' in this case) and would keep assigning them to Gaster for no real reason other than to grow his mystique, and that was very annoying!

In Deltarune, while everything points to him being a MUCH more central figure to its plot in a way that can't be divorced from the game at all... we still technically can't say we've conclusively seen him yet, despite how everyone and their mothers knows it's him behind everything, and that tends to kick theorizing about him into overdrive in a way that's even bigger than before.

Now, the prospect of Gaster being the same one between Undertale and Deltarune... now that just fits, you know? It feels right for the building meta narratives for both games that he'd be the one to exist liminally between them. It's all very, very interesting.

ik this is kinda silly but i adore the relationship twst has with gender. Mostly that ,,, it kind of ignores it? Transphobia, homophobia and sexism just dont seem to exist. Even the most masculine characters dont bat an eye at wearing heels or sb wearing a dress, everyone has eyeshadow, theres respect for strong women, characters just call each other cute or how their fit looks good. Rook and sebek do their over the top behaviours abt other male characters. No makeup or fashion is off the table. Who cares abt the gender binary, lets all be gay
