The king was gone, and Hermes was left behind to clean up his mess. He still remembers the first time Zeus asked for his help. His excitement could barely be contained. How important he felt that day. For once, his trickery was encouraged. Deceiving the queen was a fun task then. A challenge. Keeping her mind away from her unfaithful husband while he enjoyed the company of another mortal lover.  But centuries passed, and nothing had changed. Zeus still summoned him at all hours, as if he had nothing better to do, treating him more like a common servant than a respected Olympian. That was the root of the problem. Hermes no longer felt appreciated. His efforts were expected, taken as duty instead of devotion. No more. From now on, he's making his voice heard. He won't let anyone push him around – not even his all-powerful father.  That night, he waited for him in his bedroom. He sat on the edge of the mattress, arms crossed, cold eyes fixated on the door, an unfriendly look on his face. Hermes was determined not to move, no matter how long it took. The king would be back from his illicit encounter eventually.

"I know that you're not," Charlotte replied back with a smile, her arm still wrapped around him to keep him close while they made their way out of the alleyway. "I just meant it more as... I would take care of you while you rest, make sure that you don't end up getting worse is all," she continued, peering up at him to make sure he was still awake, "id that is ok with you of course. I don't want you to feel like you are being held hostage."

It didn't take them long to reach her apartment block and luckily, there had been no strange looks from anyone they had passed. To them, perhaps the two looked as though they were just two friends enjoying a slightly tipsy night together. "You don't need to thank me, I'm just doing what anyone should do," she mused, opening up the door to her block and making her way inside. Luckily for them, she had a ground floor apartment so they didn't have to risk using the stairs. Once inside, she set him down on the couch before grabbing her phone to send off a text to her friend.

Charlotte gave a small nod, her arm slowly coming round to wrap around his waist. The alleyway wasn't the safest place, he was right about that and so, she was going to have to try and get him out of here without too many people seeing. "I know that it might seem a little strange but... you can come back to my place. I have a spare bed that you can get some rest in and I'll make sure to keep you fed and watered while you heal up," she offered, hoping that he didn't think she was crazy for saying so.

"He's a doctor and he isn't one to ask too many questions," she continued, slowly beginning to move them both out of the alleyway and down the street towards her apartment complex. "He'll be able to get you cleaned and stitched up. Once we get back to mine... I'll give him a call and see if he can make it over quickly."

“Me?” Kyungsoo said, and he hoped it wasn’t quite as obvious that he was shocked by that information as he really was. He did love Hermes, there was never any doubt in his mind about that. Just the fact that someone that had so much going for her would be with someone like him. Someone that seemed to be stuck in a rut.

“I’m glad I could help,” he chuckled. Kyungsoo just did his best to be a good person, the kind of person that his town could be proud of. If they ever were, they weren’t going to say anything. “I don’t know about that,” this time he laughed and shook his head. He would not describe himself as a hero. “I don’t think I could slay a hydra or clean out any stables in a single day. I just make sure a drunk gets home… Which can be as messy as cleaning a stable,” Kyungsoo teased, only vaguely remembering the labors of Hercules. And certainly exposing himself as a nerd. As though Hermes didn’t already pick up on that one.

Some thoughts about ch 99~

I'm absolutely overwhelmed by this mighty location! The biggest we have ever had! When you look at the actual arena next to it, it seems so inconspicuously small.

I really love everything about it! The mountains, the snow-covered forest that many people expected and even a village.

What I didn't expect is, that Loki himself chosed this location. At first I thought, it was because he wanted to trigger some kind of trauma in Simo, because he calls it a hell that Simo knows, but I think that would be too simple? ..because on the outside it all seems as if it doesn't really bother Simo. Of course, it could also be that it has something to do with a kind of arrogance, but I think Loki definitely has a damn big plan or several plans behind it if he chooses an area that is also to Simo's advantage. (Simo's adorable dog is waiting for him in front of the bridge and I wonder if it will stay that way or if he will maybe come to help.. but to be honest, I kinda hope that won't happen..)

Something that Hermes also said, that Loki would not do anything that could harm himself and that he definitely has some purpose behind it. Fitting for a god like Loki~

It's also such a cold epic moment, how Simo has already fixed and focused on Loki from a distance, but it also seems as if Loki staring at him with this sly, malicious look and of course has already identified Simo's location. Also fitting for Loki how he speaks through the horn and tries to mock Simo in a way.
