Update log: Very weird situation for me rn. I run around outside like a zombie barely able to work or like perceive my surroundings. And then I get home and go urhgrrhrhsg and write a whole chapter of Vilda Ravenhill like its nothing. Since when has that been how it works. Anyway its currently chapter 18 in the lineup and is called "One Equal to Another."

And slowly, slowly... It starts to rain. Beginning as a light mist that doesn't so much fall as crawl its way under your collar immediately. But then it picks up. Drops start to patter against the leaves. Quietly. Then louder.

They had no idea it was possible to miss a sound as much as they had missed this.

A raven falls from the clouds to meet them. It lands on Vilda's shoulder, clumsily, and doesn't hesitate to worm it's way inside their hood. They can hear it mutter to itself as it settles down there, claws dug firmly into the fabric of their shirt.

They smile, faintly, and raise their hand to touch it. It snaps after their fingers half-heartedly.

"Hey, Cortez... Cold?"

The raven ignores her.

They had crossed the Harvest Counties as the clouds drew in. First at a sprint, but then much slower, as the 'signal' they traced got weaker. Right now, Vilda can't feel it at all. Dragontooth swears he still can, and keeps going at a brisk walk.

They're somewhere around the outskirts of Silverglade now. They can't see Fort Pinta, or the castle, or the town. They're just somewhere out in the fields. Swallowed up by the rain.
