Listens to exclusively rock but is fine with Aphmau’s pop music. He doesn't get it, but he loves her too much

He got the tattoos like right when he was free from his dad and now he kinda regrets them, but he has to admit, the full sleeve is fuckin awesome

Writes songs for his guitar, although he doesn't show anyone because they range from love songs about Aphmau to full blown vent songs about his PTSD from his dad

Speaking of his PTSD, he gets frequent nightmares and even when he doesn't or when he can't remember his nightmare, he'll still jolt awake in a cold sweat

A/N: I know this is late but I wanted to write something for Rina and Tsukasa with this prompt and I was working on that APT video with my other OCs. This is kinda self indulgent with the song choice because I’ve been obsessed with it recently haha. Fun fact: apparently “Valenti” roughly translates to valiant or brave? I don’t know if that’s the direct translation but that’s what it said when I looked it up. Anyways, hope you enjoy! :D

“We’re on in 5 minutes,” Tsukasa told her. Rina nodded. They were performing a cover of “Valenti” by BoA today. Rina spaced off for a second before he brought her back to reality.

“Are you nervous, Rina?”

Rina repeated the line in her head, thinking it was ironic how someone who had hurt her so much in the past had said the same thing to her a little over a year ago.

“Are you nervous, Rina?” Aimi asked. Rina nodded. She was about to perform “Valenti” for the audition part of her Yumenosaki entrance exam, and she was trying to calm her nerves. Aimi, her girlfriend at the time, was hanging out with her backstage while they waited. Aimi was also auditioning, but her performance was later than Rina’s.

“You’ll be fine, don’t worry,” Aimi reassured with a warm smile. It was times like these that made Rina almost forget all of the times Aimi had been cold or made them pretend to just be friends. They had been dating for three months, but honestly, it didn’t even really feel like they were dating to Rina. They had been on one date, if you could even call it that, and it wasn’t really romantic. Rina brushed off most of the signs she kept seeing as her just being nervous about being in her first relationship. Aimi had told her she wanted to take it slow, but sometimes Rina kept asking how slow did she want exactly? Sometimes she felt more like a “girl friend” to Aimi instead of a girlfriend.

Rina had gone onstage that day feeling proud of herself, only to be crushed immediately after.

“You were a bit pitchy on that high note.”

Rina stared at Aimi in shock. She was joking, right? But Aimi was looking at her dead serious.

“And why are you bringing this up?” Rina asked cautiously. It didn’t make sense to her that the first thing she heard from her “girlfriend” was harsh critique.

“I’m just saying, you’ve done better.”

Something in Rina finally snapped, and dhe finally spoke up.

“Aimi, can you stop treating me like you don’t even care?”

“What?”

“You say you’re my girlfriend but you say things like what you just said to me that make me feel inferior. I’ve told you I’m insecure and yet you keep pushing me down further.”

“I was just stating a fact.”

It was like Rina’s rose tinted lenses were shattered in an instant and she realized the way she had been treated was not okay. She finally cut Aimi off and ended a relationship that was hurting her. Thankfully she was able to find Mizi and Aeri after Mizi finished her performance, and they reassured her she did the right thing. The trio left shortly after Aeri’s performance and before Aimi’s. Rina was secretly glad when she went to her first day at Yumenosaki and didn’t see Aimi anywhere, because Rina would have hated having to see her every day.

Her past relationship had given her some trust issues, so when she started falling for Tsukasa, she had tried oh so hard to deny it, but somehow she had fallen deeper than she had ever felt for Aimi. She had considered telling him how she felt, but she was wary considering what happened with Aimi, but he had beaten her to the punch and confessed first.

Rina remembered that day clearly. They had been assigned a partner project and paired together. They were in the library after school working on it, but they were taking a small break to talk. They were talking about songs their units had released recently, specifically “Luminous Crown” and “On My Bike,” and both had coincidentally been centers in their respective songs.

“You did a good job during the last chorus,” Rina commented.

“I’m glad you enjoyed our song. I hope you will continue to be supportive of Knights in the future,” Tsukasa replied with a smile, “I must say, you were rather captivating onstage while performing ‘On My Bike’ as well…I couldn’t take my eyes off you…”

The last part was quiet enough that Rina almost didn’t hear it, but it left her caught off guard and blushing like crazy. And, judging on the similar expression on Tsukasa’s face, he probably didn’t mean to say it out loud. There was an awkward silence as they processed what Tsukasa had just said.

“Um…thank you…” Rina looked away blushing.

“…Listen, Rina, I need to tell you something…”

Rina still vividly remembered the look on his face when he looked at her with sincerity and nervousness. Her heart was racing before, but now it was doing a full marathon.

“I really like you.”

Rina was certain she had turned as red as Tsukasa’s hair when she finally processed he was serious.

“You what?!”

“I like you…a lot…more than just a friend…I was hoping we could possibly hang out sometime…like a date maybe…?” Tsukasa said, also blushing.

“…ilikeyoutoo…”

“What was that?”

“I like you too!”

And now they were both blushing even harder, smiling softly at each other.

When they had gone on a date that weekend, Rina thought that was the most fun she had had in a while. They had gone to a café to get coffee and sweets while they chatted. It was simple yet romantic.

Aimi and Rina’s “relationship” was nothing compared to Rina with Tsukasa. He truly cared about her as much as she cared about him, and she was happier than ever. After so long, she finally felt like herself again with him. He helped show her she was worthy of love and affection again, and she was grateful for it every day.

So when he asked her if she was nervous to perform on stage today with him, she only had one answer in mind.

“No, I’m not nervous,” she told him with a smile, taking his hands in her own, “This might sound cheesy, but I feel braver with you by my side.”

Tsukasa’s smile made her feel like she was flying.

“I feel the same way.”

They went on stage together and performed to their heart’s content. Later when Rina opened her social media, she would find that the fans greatly appreciated their passionate performance, and she thought to herself that she wouldn’t have been able to do this without him. They made a pretty good team after all.

OK SO,

Aimie (she/her) is young adult mostly-Unadapted Human with some elven ancestry, and the youngest of a not-rich-but-well-off family. She is adventurous and intelligent, yet clumsy and scatterbrained. She's an experimental researcher, and a dual mage with the ability to use Wind and Fire magic. She does a lot of travel, but she kind of has a talent for finding trouble and getting hurt. It's basically a miracle she's still alive, though only Siodha knows how (presumably).

Xynn (they/she) is a young adult coyote Shifter Ferin with Wind Elf heritage. She's frankly badass, and has picked up a lot of miscellaneous skills over the years of supporting themself and her younger sibling (he/him, early/mid teens, still coming up with a name for him... haven't found one that seems right yet), as they were both orphaned at a young age. Despite being extremely competent in most areas, they've had trouble finding work due to most people's treatment of Ferin.

When Aimie's parents (two dads btw) started looking for someone to hire to keep their daughter safe (and alive) on her travels, Xynn is the one they end up hiring. The pay is enough for Xynn to send back to their sibling, who is now old enough that Xynn's job taking her out of town for days or sefs on end isn't a problem.

When Aimie found out about that, she was initially abrasive, insisting that she "doesn't need a babysitter!" but relents after her parents just to try it once and see how it works. After a couple attempts to lose Xynn during their first time traveling together, it became clear that she wasn't gonna get rid of them that easily. Well, they're not bad company, so it's not long before she gets used to it.

Xynn quickly finds out just how accident-prone Aimie really is, to the point where they become very familiar with where the first-aid kit in Aimie's travel bag is. They're also admittedly impressed with how willing and comfortable she is sleeping on the ground with nothing but a single blanket.

They really warm up to each other during an incident when Aimie is startled awake by a snake, and Xynn casually picks it up and assures that it's just a little grass snake and it's not venomous. Despite their attempts to hide it, Aimie learns that Xynn loves snakes. When Xynn starts to try and tone down their excitement, she insists that she doesn't mind one bit, and goes out of her way to make sure they know that she's not going to shame her for it or anything.

During this journey, they both end up infodumping to each other a lot. And when one does, the other listens intently. (ISTG so many of my original character romances consist of one infodumping while the other(s) listen with heart eyes.)

When she's back home, Aimie pleasantly surprises her parents with how cool she was with the new travel arrangement, and that she approves of Xynn coming with her regularly.

Xynn's little sibling asks if the new job is good, and she replies that yes, it is. And they think they like it quite a bit.

Perhaps due to extended amounts of time spent traveling together, perhaps because they genuinely enjoy each others' company, it's not long before they become really close friends.

Xynn quickly figures out her own feelings for their travel companion not long after they start turning into what she considers a problem. They try to distance herself emotionally for a bit, but fails to get their relationship back to what would be considered "professional". They consider quitting for a bit, but she really, really doesn't want to bc they really do like their adventures together. Eventually she makes peace (sort of) with the fact that yes, they're in love with her travel companion, but that nothing would come of it...

In contrast, Aimie doesn't really know when she started to fall for Xynn. She doesn't even realize it for a while, until one day she finally puts a name to her new feelings, but doesn't have the first clue as to how to handle it. She feels like acting on those feelings would be taking advantage of Xynn, especially since by now she knows how much they need this job, so she keeps quiet.

At this point Xynn's told Aimie a fair bit about their sibling, though she's never met him, and Xynn has expressed she doesn't feel comfortable with Aimie knowing where they live. She's not ashamed or hiding it, just doesn't want to show her the barely-held-together shack they call home. Until one day, when Xynn's sibling goes missing, and Xynn asks Aimie for help.

An investigation and a wind missive leads them to find that he has been kidnapped. Pro tip: don't piss off a badass and protective coyote-shifter, and a Wind and Fire mage with very little regard for her own safety. The kidnappers get their asses beat, and Xynn's sibling is brought to safety.

After the rescue, it becomes clear that their previous living situation isn't viable for them anymore. Aimie arranges for them to live with her family, insisting that it's really not a problem, and when Xynn mentions that's not part of the deal she made with Aimie's parents, Aimie insists that it would've been if they'd known how much Xynn and their sibling were really struggling. She brings it up with her parents who are hesitant at first, but do a complete 180 when Aimie tells them about how they were living before and about the kidnapping thing, and suddenly Xynn and her sibling have a new, better place to live. Xynn manages to wait until she and Aimie are alone before she finally breaks down, into a mess of tears and "thank you"s. Aimie tells her that, given how often Xynn has saved her ass during their travels, it's only fair.

It's not long after this, that they finally, finally, admit their feelings for each other.

Xynn and Aimie travel together as partners (also Xynn's position with Aimie's folks transfers from hired help, to basically family).

Fun tidbits:

Aimie's magic channels are unevenly sized, her Wind one is higher-capacity than her Fire one (which is fairly small). She's also come up with ways to make larger flames than is natural for her by getting creative with her combination of magic abilities. Alongside her first-aid supplies, Aimie keeps a small Life lacrima in her travel bag for emergencies. She's had to use it less often when Xynn started traveling with her, both because they help prevent a number of accidents and because she can do first aid for Aimie when she can't do it for herself.

One time Xynn saved Aimie from getting bit by a venomous snake, but it resulted in them getting bit instead. When Aimie is taking care of the wound they reassure her that the poison won't be fatal, especially to a ferin, and she'll recover in no time and it'll be fine. Aimie asks how they're feeling, and at this point Xynn is comfortable enough with her, to admit that this is kind of the coolest thing to ever happen to them.

Xynn got a gift from Aimie that was a book she found about snakes. Xynn freaking loves it.

DEATH IN DRURY TOWN: The Unofficial Novel.

Warning: This is a murder-mystery-horror novel. This novel will contain depictions of strong violence and murder and will contain possible chapters in the future that deal with anxiety, self harm/suicide, and depression. Any of those who are sensitive/uncomfortable to these subjects are asked to not read Chapter 1 when it comes out. This series will be rated for Older Teens (15-16+ and Up) and it is not advised to let kids under that age read it.

This is going to be written as an Indie Game style story. My love of writing has been inspired by OMORI and UNDERTALE/DELTARUNE.

Description: Young boy Cillian Montreal grew up in the small town known as “Drury.” Life is a repeating cycle. Just another boring day in school after another, and hardly no crimes in the town. That is, until Cillian snaps after one of his bullies ruins his Book of Thoughts and Feelings. He makes a mistake that can never be erased for the rest of his life. This is a novel that shows you what it's like to be in the shoes of a stealthy killer who must try everything in his willpower to not get caught.

TR OC Sibling Lore

Finally got around to doing this. Mainly gonna be Satsumi and Pearly's siblings but also a few other characters. If enough people ask, I will make designs for the older siblings and make them interact with each other

Fujiyama siblings

Miwa: Satsumi's older sister. She's the cool older sister who is popular everywhere she goes. She was born shortly after Goro and Afreyea got married. Like the rest of the siblings, Miwa works at the family restaurant. She used to be a hostess before switching to a cook. She currently attends college.

Kiyosuke: One of Satsumi's younger brothers and the eldest boy at 14. He was born a year after her. He's kind of like a mother hen to the rest of the siblings. He's a waiter. In the future he becomes a banker.

Shion: The 2nd son at 13. Him and Chie are twins despite being born five days apart. He's rambunctious but helpful and always sticks his neck out for others. At Paradise Grill, he's a dishwasher. As an adult, he becomes a firefighter.

Chie: The youngest daughter and baby of the family. Like Miwa, she's popular at school and has a lot of friends but also has a mean streak like Satsumi. She's the main hostess at the restaurant. Her and Hayao are dating. Chie is a nurse in all of the timelines.

Raio: The youngest son at 12. He likes to think of himself as a tough guy and gets into fights he can't win sometimes. Raio has a crush on Aimi, Miyoko's little sister. He's also a waiter. In the future, he becomes a boxer.

Guevara siblings

David: The eldest of Kurtis' children and Satsumi's stepbrother. Both him and his sister Lita are seniors in high school. David adores his stepsiblings and treats them as such. His job at Paradise Grill is the delivery boy for takeout orders. He's a physics professor as an adult.

Lita: David's twin. Lita became friends with Hanae through Satsumi. Like her brother, she adores her siblings and stepmother. She's kind and mature. She also works as a hostess. She becomes a ballerina in the future.

Akadori siblings

Kaori: 2nd oldest behind Pearly at 13. She looks exactly like a young Towa except with orange hair. She's one of Chie's many friends. A huge fan of Miyami Kazumiya and is training to become a figure skater just like her.

Masaru: 12 years old. He's a quiet, nerdy boy who likes computers and robots. He cannot handle confrontation at all and will cry if anyone even slightly raises their voice at him. He looks mostly like his (bio) dad with Towa's nose.

Moriko & Ioriko: 10 years old. The twins are troublemakers and very energetic. They like to play pranks on just about anyone who will let them. Their main target is currently Suguru. Moriko looks like Towa with her bio dad's eyes and hair color while Ioriko is the opposite.

Tsubasa: 7 years old. He's brutally honest in the way only young kids can be. Closest to Pearly. He's been slowly warming up to Suguru. Looks like a mix of both his father and Towa.

Chihiro: 5 years old. A literal baby. All she does is play with her dolls, go to preschool, and take naps. Her whole family loves her so much.

Uchi brothers

Akihiko: Eldest son at 21. He's in college to study dentistry and take up the family business. While disappointed in Arinobu's delinquency, he does understand why he went down that path. Him and Miwa are dating. Scared of Satsumi more than Goro and Kurtis combined.

Atsushi: 2nd son. A high school prodigy with a bright future in the medical field. He does not support Arinobu being in Olympus and will chastise him about it any chance he gets.

Furukawa sisters

Emi: Oldest of the three. Elegant, refined, and mature. She cares a lot about Kenshin and wants him to leave gang life behind for his own safety. Owns a lounge that serves as Olympus 2nd meet up spot.

Kyoka: Middle sister and a friend of Miwa's. She's really into gothic Lolita fashion. Feels the same way Emi does about Kenshin being in a gang but willing to wait for him to grow out of it.

Toyoko: Youngest sister. She works at the library. Kenshin's most stubborn opponent. The day Olympus disbands, she'll celebrate like never before.

Ito sisters

Yoshie: Harumi's older sister. A famous actress overseas and former idol. She dotes on her little sister like crazy and is always sending her gifts from the places she travels to for movies.

Lighting round: additional family lore

Hideyoshi & Yua Goda: Arisa's grandparents and Naoki Goda's parents. They took custody of their granddaughter and raised her away from the yakuza world. They support her dream of being a pianist and use the money her parents send to pay for lessons.

Naoki & Mayu Goda: Arisa's parents. Naoki is the head of a yakuza clan. While Mayu isn't involved in organized crime, she still wanted her daughter to have a peaceful life. They send Arisa and her grandparents money every month.

Osamu & Megumi Ito: Yoshie and Harumi's parents. Osamu is a famous wrestler and Megumi is a singer. They support Harumi not wanting to be famous and having a normal life. Dote on her as much as Yoshie does.

Rokuro & Sayaka Furukawa: Kenshin's parents. Both are strict out of love for their children. Rokuro can't really say much about his son's "extracurricular activities" since he used to be in a gang himself. Sayaka is the opposite and actively tries to get Kenshin out of Olympus by having him sign up for various clubs.

We sat down with its creator, Syllphana, to talk about the game’s twisted charm, unforgettable characters, and the wild ride of developing it from start to finish.

Syllphana: “My biggest inspiration behind Sweetest Valentine are games made by Caron. They made smaller games like visual novels and RPG Maker and they feature Yandere girls doing crazy things, and I used to really like their games when I was younger. I also wanted to show how love can change people for both the better and for the worse. I really wanted to convey that with Sweetest Valentine.” Syllphana: “You play as Aimi, or the MC. You can change her name, but I'm going to refer to her as Aimi from now on. It's nearing Valentine's Day and you can choose to go on a date with Ichigo, your childhood friend whom you love platonically, or Yuzuki, your crush and the quote unquote perfect student. There's also been disappearances in your hometown but I'm sure that has nothing to do with the entire story.”

Syllphana: “Yes, I did make everything myself except for maybe the backgrounds. Those are royalty-free images, also the soundtrack too. But other than that, for the programming, the writing, and the art, yes, I do that myself and it's a torture.” Syllphana: “In the end, it's love and also obsession. Obsessive love versus healthy wholesome love, just the way these two bearings contrast each other and how each character shows a different ways to love the other.” Syllphana: “I usually try to think about what the main event or the cause or like what the catalyst is. In this case, the main event would be Ichigo murdering someone and Haruto witnessing it. And I just asked myself questions like, 'so Ichigo's main motivation is that he doesn't want anyone to find out', and the answer to that just leads to more questions.

Sweetest Valentine Reading with Yuzuki

Syllphana: “I knew from the very beginning that the twist of the MC being—you know—just as crazy, if not crazier than Ichigo would catch people by surprise. Some people did say that that twist came kind of out of nowhere and I just wish that I could have put more foreshadowing and hints. there's only one mention of it and it's very fake.” Syllphana: “Yes, they were inspired by a lot of archetypes. With Ichigo, I took the classic Yandere archetype. I wanted to subvert that a little bit. With Yuzuki, I took the archetype of the perfect classmate, but I wanted to change that by making him like actually just a normal guy. And as for Haruto, I want to take that and actually make him into basically the hero of the story.”

Sweetest Valentine The Choice

Syllphana: “I like Yandere with great motive and backstory. I really like Yandere who's very shamelessly a bad person. Let people hate your character. I think that's the point. Just if you want your character to be bad, let them be bad. Like, let them sin. Let them do the nastiest things.” Syllphana: “The main thing that I try to focus on is just keeping tabs with each character motivations and just imagining how they would act accordingly to that motivation. Like, what's in line with Ichigo's goals and motivations—things like that.” Syllphana: “It’s actually my first time touching digital art. I try to find a style that's appealing but also easy enough for me to do at the time. I noticed that a lot of Otome games have this soft feel to their art style. So I really want to imitate that, fool people into thinking this is just a cute, soft game.”

Syllphana: “Yuzuki's route, with me not really planning it as much. For the illustration—especially the scenes where there's action involved like Haruto getting stabbed. Whenever I look back to that scene, I always just cover my eyes just quickly.” Syllphana: “Honestly, the fact that it's kind of blowing up. I truly only expected it to get like—I don't know—like 500 downloads max. I’ve made a discord server and a lot of people there are really nice. It's my first time to finally chat with my own followers and it's been a really nice experience.” Syllphana: “The most challenging aspect would have to be coding because it's something that I'm not used to—moving one button was really difficult for me at that time because it deals with numbers. I'm so bad with numbers.”

Syllphana: “Three months. Pretty much I would just wake up, code, and maybe do some classes if I had one, and then I just go to sleep.” Syllphana: “By this time, I think I've released like four other visual novels and I'm currently developing one right now titled Coalesce. Also, a project that I'm already currently thinking of—that project is titled Skin Deep Leakageur and it's basically a BL visual novel.” Syllphana: “I'm not making any promises, but I do have some thoughts of making a remake. I think it would be fun to try and make a remake. I've also really released a short comic prequel about Sweetest Valentine.”

This one is headed for more of a moody sci-fi settings, and still promises super intriguing characters. Looks like she has more drama and mystery in store for us.

I think you get a pretty good idea of the kinda person is if you check out HARROW (which besides being a really cool mv is also SUCH A GOOD SONG. imo. I can’t get over how good her va is) she’s also really fucking hot I Mean What

I don’t really wanna spoil anything because chronologically you get to her story “last” (she’s the last prisoner interviewed) but anyways she undergoes. some character development !!! while in milgram. haha I wonder in which direction. she’s pretty close with es the guard who is also a very cool character but that’s a story for another day. and her prisoner partner is mikoto (009)!!

yeah I am very Normal about her and her chase to justice and the way she lets it tear down her own character and the way she counts it as the number one virtue in the world,, disregarding herself as a person and only seeing herself as a tool and it’s just so compelling to me (screaming and tearing and crying)

How they interact with canon characters is tbh not very much. Like obviously Aimi know mmj + Ena because yk AIRI IS HER OLDER SISTER, but besides that there's not much interacting with canon characters

Chiharu MIGHT interact with Shiho at live houses, but that's more of a *head nod* they don't really have a special relationship because Chiharu doesn't really get along with people well (the "I fucking hate everyone" is only half a joke)

Aimi and Airi's relationship is more interesting. They don't HATE each other, but growing up Aimi wanted to be like Airi bc yk Airi would get into fights and stuff like that.

As Airi got more into idol work and stuff like that, their relationship got a bit more distant? Like they're still sisters, but Airi wouldn't talk about her idol problems so Aimi never pushed.

Aimi DOES know Ena but it's kinda just more of a "this is my older sister's friend. okay" she doesn't really know what's up with Ena.

Aimi DOES know the rest of mmj though. She likes watching their streams.

Sumiko has a younger brother, he's in elementary school (unfortunately gen alpha so yes, canonically Sumiko does hear skibidi at home)

Kyoko is an only child but there's this group of kids that she passes by on her way home everyday. They noticed she was sad after her breakup with Sumiko and now she's an older sister. Homegirl did NOT get a choice, she was put into the older sister machine.

Chiharu's an only child too, and has a more... strained relationship at home. Like they're pretty bad at consistently misgendering her but at the same time, she has no fucks to give because she doesn't even like being at home.

Miki: This diary here has a lock too. Miyagawa-san will have to come up with a password.. 

Hinode: W-what if he forgets the password too?.. 

Miki: .. Well, that won't be my problem. 

Miki: Aimi-chan asked for more cute hairclips. I have a lot of them here.. 

Miki: Though she actually asked for them not because she wants to use them for herself, but because she wants to do my hair. 

Miki: She said that my hair looks really messy these days.

Hinode: That's.. actually quite specific.

Miki: When I asked her about it, she said that she just misses her cat a lot. I offered to get her a plushie or something else that could remind her of her cat, but she said that she would like to have a glass figure specifically. 

Miki: She said that she used to.. collect them? But I don't remember her ever mentioning something like that..

Hinode: .. I think you should remember that detail just in case.

Hinode: Prisoners requesting something they wouldn't request in a different setting or situation should be considered suspicious. 

Hinode: I mean.. I've heard about what Riku did during the first trial.

Miki: .. Maybe you're right. I'll keep that in mind.

Miki: Now, Kei-san..

Miki: Kei-san asked for... spray paint?

Hinode: What is it with everyone suddenly getting new interests and hobbies..

Miki: Yoshioka-san asked for some new earrings and even described how she wants them to look like. She said that she just "kinda wants to try something new".

Miki: .. Even though it sounds like something she would ask for, I can't help but feel worried.

Hinode: Really? Why?

Miki: Yoshioka-san mentioned once that she got the earrings she wears now from her father. And if I'm not wrong, she has a very good relationship with her father.

Miki: So why would she.. suddenly want to get new earrings if these ones are so special to her?

Hinode: Huh..

Hinode: Well, Miki-san, I'm not sure what to say here, but..

Hinode: Usually something like that happens when a person gets disappointed in their family member and doesn't want to think about them.

Miki: ...

Miki: Also, Asahi-kun..

Miki: Asahi-kun's request was.. Here, let me read it.

Miki: "You know those stuffed animals that have stuff like candy or chocolate hidden inside and you can get it out when you unzip them? Yeah, I want one. Doesn't matter what it looks like, I care about the candy more anyway."

Hinode: His request is very in character for him, haha.

Hinode: But why would he ask for a plushie specifically? He can just ask for candy or whatever he wants to eat.

Miki: I don't know.

Miki: Maybe that's just him wanting to have something that he can play with. He's still a child after all.

Hinode: Oh, you're finally smiling. He really is important to you, isn't he?

Miki: .. Ahem.

Miki: So, Maruyama-san wrote..

Miki: "Whatever. Just give me whatever you want. Getting a gift from our savior is enough of an honor anyway."

Hinode: .. Yeah, the last part is definitely supposed to be sarcasm. 

Hinode: So, what did you decide to give her?

Miki: Well, here's the thing..

Miki: We never had to get whatever the prisoners asked for ourselves, we just.. had to ask everyone about their requests first and then write a list of the things we needed and everything appeared on the next day after that, we just had to bring everything to them.

Hinode: Actually.. How does this work?

Hinode: Does that mean someone else is.. buying these things for them? Or getting them from somewhere?

Hinode: Imagine if we had to go shopping for all these items. *laughs*

Miki: I don't know how this works.. And I'm not sure that I want to know.

Miki: But anyway, this morning, when I checked everyone's presents, I noticed that Maruyama-san's present was..

Miki: A letter.

Hinode: A letter?..

Miki: *nods*

Miki: I think it's also supposed to be from her.. manager?

Miki: It's signed too..

Miki: "Kanasawa Takame".

Hinode: Have you read the rest of the letter?

Miki: No, I didn't. To be honest, I just.. don't really care about their relationship.

Miki: I just want to know more about her crime and that's all.

Hinode: Hmm.. Well, we also can't be sure that this letter really was written by her manager.

Hinode: Maybe it's just someone who works here pretending to be her.

Hinode: *laughs* Imagine them writing this. That would be so funny.

Miki: If Maruyama-san realizes that this letter isn't actually from her manager..

Miki: .. I think she won't take it well.

Hinode: Well, that's what we have these things for, right?

Miki: .. Hinode-san, I will use these only when the prisoner is about to hurt someone or when it's okay to return their memories to them.

Miki: His request actually wasn't that unique or out of the ordinary for him.

Miki: He just asked me for some hair dye again.

Hinode: Again?.. I thought he had already dyed his hair after the second trial. Wasn't it his first request after getting voted guilty?

Miki: He said that I got the wrong color for him.

Hinode: Oh..

Hinode: And what color did he actually want?

Miki: Black.

Hinode: Going back to his natural color, huh..

Miki: Finally, Himura-san..

Miki: .. She asked for a voice recorder.

Hinode: .. Are we even allowed to give her that?

Miki: Well, it's one of the presents, so.. I guess we are.

Miki: Listen, if I was allowed to give your brother a knife, I think voice recorder is more than okay.

Hinode: Well, I don't think whoever is in charge of this prison cares that much about the prisoners' safety, but if these prisoners find out something they weren't supposed to..

It was part of my Spooktober series last year. (Here's the OG post too)

Her name is Avane Faydream, or Ava Mantis; she's mostly known as Ava by her friends. Ava is a mixed heritage Mantis Fairy-Dreameater where she has abilities belonging to both beings. (Her Dreameater heritage is why she has black wings, typically her kin have green ones. Her eyes also come from her dreameater dad)

The image above is not her "canon" design though, apart from her hair, Here's her actual ref. (Some info below miiight be slightly outdated though, I tend to develop and change things overtime, but the designs at least are up-to-date)

She also has this outfit that was inspired by a really pretty Japanese modern dress I saw online once when researching for inspo for outfits to another character: (Her OG version was Japanese, now she doesn't really have direct connections to human world, but I'd say her mother, if placed on earth, would probably be from Asia somewhere, though not necessarily Japanese.)

Ava is kind of my main lady, because she has direct connections to all of my "main" characters, from working for the Goth Dad Jurou/Alistair as a tattoo artist, to being one of Azul Samaros/ Chester Knight's friends he sometimes ask for help from. (When Azul says he knows someone, he goes "I know a gal" rather than "I know a guy" quite often lol)

She has a boyfriend, a bi Grimmhound (with some Lycan heritage) named Roman Bosco, who used to work for a human mobster (or more like was forced to/the guy was also in love with him but in kind of a toxic way....) and he's one of those absolute sweetheart, romantic teddy bear guys. (His ref here if you wanna learn more about Roman)

Her dad Lawrence is sort of the 'antagonist' for my main story Night City Parlor, and she sort of tends to meddle in her dad's business to try and protect people from his influence. This includes Jurou, she actually went to work for him to secretly keep an eye on him, knowing her dad would be interested in someone as powerful as Jurou. (She also works together with her uncle, who ends up becoming Jurou's love interest lol)

She loves her dad dearly, but he's somewhat gone off the deep end after what happened to his wife/her mother; he's not coping with her condition well, burying himself in his dangerous and important work, which has started to erode his moral code. As a result, Ava feels the need to protect others from her dad's worse tendencies. (Ava has some of these personality traits from her dad, where she has the capability to be somewhat manipulative and occasionally struggles with empathy. Unlike her dad though, she is self-aware of this and actively works on not giving in on her worse impulses, and will let her friends/BF/Family call her out on it and listen)

I guess I can also list couple of fun facts:

Ava's design took me SO long to get into a place where I liked it. This is kind of typical for me with ladies for some reason, but once I did manage to create something I loved, she quickly became one of my favorite characters.

Ava has a couple of friend groups; 1. the day-to-day one with her coworker and friend Claude, as well as their boss' adoptive son (and Claude's BF) Caelan. 2. Her "sneaky action" group which includes both the former and current right hand woman of her dad, Marci and Aimi. (Typically ones she goes to, when she wants to meddle into her dad's business, or alternatively do something more dangerous lol) 3. Her Girl Bestie, Taiga (A kitsune, works at a hair salon she often goes to, they do girls night hangouts)

Ava is Demiromantic/Demisexual, she basically had no interest in either until she met Roman and slowly developed feelings for him. (She was actually kind of worried her dominant personality would be off-putting to him given his history, but they had a honest talk about it and he basically didn't mind because she tries her best to be the best version of herself despite her mental hiccups)

Ava is NOT good with kids, she has no proper patience to deal with them, and tends to be awkward around children. That being said she tends to try and be a good role model to the ones she has around her in her day-to-day life (namely her boss Jurou's daughter, who's a huge fan of hers lol).

Ava has a lightning bolt tattoo (not shown on the images above, given they are timed before she got it) designed for her by Roman. She basically appeared suddenly in his life like a 'lightning from clear skies' and completely changed things for him, gave him a chance to built the kind of life he'd actually want to live, instead of being forced to work for a criminal.

This got kinda long, but that's what happens when you get asked about your characters I suppose lmao
