The estranged prince of the Dark Cacao Kingdom has been alone for a long time. In search of peace and freedom, he’s chosen to wander the wilderness and close himself off from a majority of the outside world. Of course, he still heard the news of Cacao’s victory over the licorice sea, which he admired from afar. However, he wouldn’t know of the ultimate fate that would befall his father and the kingdom until he listened through the grapevine once more. Shocked and disturbed by the fate of his homeland, Dark Choco stands at a mental crossroads. Even though he deeply wishes to understand what happened to his father and his kingdom, he is hesitant, apprehensive, and insecure about disrupting his peace to return to the land of ice.

Amidst his internal turmoil, caring for Strawberry Crepe Cookie has taken first priority. After he encounters the terrified child in the woods, he takes them under his wing. He doesn’t know where they want or need to go, nor the true scale of what they had witnessed back home; but in time, the wandering prince will truly learn how much the world around him has changed for the worse—and how much it might need him.

Perhaps then may he be prepared to make a decision. Choco can only avoid his demons for so long—the Beast of Solitude’s shadow continues to loom over him, and one day, the encroaching darkness may come to consume him whole.
