I cannot fucking stand Tyler. The Freshman crew all should’ve ousted him from the group because in addition to being a shitty friend (and boyfriend in Abbie’s case), he helped the Alphas screw his friends over which potentially could have ruined their futures.

When Sklonda Gukgak told Riz about their financial situation, she said that it wasn’t his friends’ fault that they were going to have an easier time going to college because of their financial stability. She was worried that Riz’s anxiety would make him bitter toward his friends, but instead he used that anxiety to help his friends succeed. Enter The Rat Grinders. He sees people succeeding by taking the easy way out, and a completely new side of Riz, full of envious rage, comes out. In a moment when he has a target he can be hostile toward, we see all of Riz’s anger at the inequity he is facing. It makes you wonder how he really feels when he sees Fabian partying and Fig cutting class, knowing that he could never afford the luxury of taking the easy route.

I do think there is something particularly heartbreaking about Jawbone coming to Adaine only after she's managed to fix her problems herself. Like—Jawbone so clearly wants to be her father, and Adaine (out of love for him!) refuses to let him be one.

Children are meant to be burdens to their parents, and Jawbone knows that. But Adaine doesn't. So by trying to avoid being a burden, she's keeping him from being able to love her the way he so badly wants to.

so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.

Adaine's melee abilities in combat have mesmerized me. The bonus action True Strike with the Sword of Sight. Destiny guiding her blade as she struck true four of the shatter stars at once with a swift Steel Wind Strike. Around her, she can see everything. Through invisibility, into the Ethereal Plane. Never again will mages, like her kidnappers from Fallinel, ever get the drop on her. If they try, she is now a certified Mage Slayer, and they'll have to contend with an opportunity attack from the Oracle herself for even daring to cast a spell within her reach.

Some people are so goofy with their critiques. "Why would they do this""they said that""no but they can't do this and claim otherwise" hey. Put the pen down. They are teenagers in a fictional world. Comparing their situation and how they act to real life anything is silly. They are children trying to navigate all the hardships of being children like finding identity, developing social skills, blah blah etc while also in a fantastical world that is trying to kill them but also they need to save it cause no one else can for some reason. Welcome to storytelling
