Ambessa keeps showing up to the lab and it takes him a bit to catch on tbh. until the moment Ambessa is leaning over Viktor with one hand on the table crooning that she's always been fascinated by what fine work such delicate hands can accomplish ("yes thank you" says Viktor cooly, obliviously homosexual and annoyed, "it is often easier when I do not have someone breathing on the back of my neck.")

Rack focus over to Jayce in the background. realizing what is happening. shocked. outraged. absolutely aghast. ExCUSE you Viktor needs a lot of space he is very busy! there's only room for one brick house in this lab anyway they both have a lot to do actually so if you can be on your way ma'am??!

Mel and Jayce look over at some event just in time to see Ambessa pulling off a full kabedon on Viktor (still obliviously homosexual and still annoyed, his expression mostly a "can I help you??") saying that she admires the determination, the will, the sheer grit he must have to get where he is. Especially when it's all in such a...disarmingly dainty package...

And while Mel is desperately trying to find some other twink she can throw in front of her mom, Jayce just broke the sound barrier barrelling over to swoop Viktor up and get him the fuck out of there. You hear a doppler effect on startled/infuriated Czech Freljord cursing as they vanish down the halls

he winced at the burning sensation of alcohol on his injuries. you'd think he'd be used to it by now, but he was far too focused on other things. namely, you. his heart was racing faster than he'd ever admit and he couldn't bare to look you in the eye. if you inched any closer he swore his brain wouldn't be able to handle it, his body tensed in a prayer that he wouldn't embarrass himself. your fingers grazed his cheek, assessing the damage, and he hoped you were ignoring the crimson dawning his face.

the close proximity was enough on it's own, but your touch on his skin and your attentive eye had sent his entire body aflame. by the time you pulled away to get some miscellaneous supply he couldn't care less about, he had felt his heart drop to his stomach and his hands become clammy.

"so how'd you get injured?" your query was met with silence, as his expression shifted in sour distaste for the situation that landed him these injuries.

"fine, you don't have to tell me" and as you reached to cup his face again, he swore he would spend the rest of his life with you. he felt himself melt into your touch, after all, when would the two of you be in such close proximity again?

writers note: I ❤ this scenario specifically, I intended this to suit more characters but it ended up being too ooc for most of them 😓 even karma is a huge stretch I fear + the ending is super abrupt but I was never good at ending my writing </3

I see a lot of hate from people in USAmerica towards Ohio and as a guy who's lived in Ohio and driven through it many times on the way to Canada, I feel I'm somewhat qualified to say the resolution to the "Ohio sucks" problem is we give as much of it as physically possible back to the authority of the First Nations people who used to freely live on the land and had it stolen from them.

I support all bank ownership of homes, farms, and other properties being transferred to the authority of the First Nations people and anyone who wishes to continue to live in the portions being given back should be allowed to do so, by way of paying their mortgages/rents directly to the descendants of the original/rightful "owners" and inhabitants of the land. Obviously, this would take some work and not be an easy transition for anyone involved, but just because something is difficult and complicated to do doesn't mean it's not the correct choice.

A lot of Ohio's history has been forgotten and outright erased as part of the constant and deliberate effort to suppress and eradicate the people who lived on this land before it was invaded by settlers. And tbh if you live in Ohio and don't want to live under the authority of the people who have real rights to the land, then just as we forced out, killed, suppressed, and drove them away, then you can also be forced out and driven away.

If you're more scared of your home being owned by people of First Nations descent than that of a bank then you're both an idiot and need to reassess your opinions on humanity. A bank will be quicker to kick you out on your ass, sell everything you own, and leave you with nothing than any real human being who you've been poisoned into believing less of would - and any animosity and distrust felt towards white folks is fully and unequivocally deserved. We do not deserve their respect, we have not earned it, and we continue to not earn it.

Stop talking about letting other countries "colonize" us to "fix" the fascism problem in the country right now and start believing in and working towards real, positive change that does not leave behind people who have been brutalized and whose rights have been systematically denied by a government built on white supremacy and destruction.
