How many clones of yourself would be needed to defeat a gorilla with only barehands?
I only just now noticed this was in here.
It's probably a lot. I'm a sprinter, not a fighter. I did take karate classes back in middle school, but those lessons have long since faded.
I'm pretty good at coordinating, though, so maybe 150?

Day One Hundred Forty
This morning Mr. N and I finished boxing up everything we're taking out of our staff room. Then I organized our bookshelves, he moved furniture around, and we got it looking really nice. We still have a bit of neatening up to do, but the major stuff is done. Teamwork makes the dream work!
I also did some grading, checked in with Mr. O, and chatted with a few sophomore boys who'd dressed in suits for today's spirit day theme (dress up or dress down... I was dressed down in my track practice clothes). And I made the photocopies I needed to make for my Global Studies lesson.
I had students get on their chromebooks and access CNN's interactive timeline of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which covers 2022-23 using text, images, and videos. They put headphones in, went through the timeline at their own pace, and took notes to summarize the different segments. After that, they had a short vocab practice assignment to complete. I was happy with how it went, too. Students used their class time well, and most of them finished both assignments before the bell or had very little remaining. I liked that they asked me a bunch of questions as they were working, whether for clarification or elaboration. That's really adding to the learning experience, and I think a lot of them have realized that, at this point. Asking questions makes Global Studies better.
In the afternoon, I went down to my office and called references for one of the candidates we recently interviewed. One of those calls was delightful because I was calling a professor at my own alma mater. I'm pretty sure that she went straight to my old advisor's office afterwards to tell him about it. I got the sense that another didn't like the standard set of questions I had to ask since some of the answers were already in the letters of rec they wrote. I get it, but I'm just doing what I'm told here.
At practice we got the news that our first meet, which was supposed to be on Saturday, was postponed until Tuesday. This is a really good thing because it's supposed to be pouring rain- and maybe snow- on Saturday, and it gives us a few more days to train. And I'm really going to enjoy haing the weekend off because this week has been hectic. The Head Coach originally wanted the sprinters to do technical stuff- blocks, relay passes, etc...- but he told me to have them do a ladder workout (two sets: 300-200-150-100m) instead. That went really well.
As I was leading stretches at the end, the kids were talking about tomorrow's pep rally, which should be tons of fun. Stay tuned for my next entry!

What Is a Light Duty Truck?
Light-duty trucks are everywhere. Whether you see a pickup hauling supplies, a small commercial van making deliveries, or a tow truck assisting a stranded vehicle, light-duty trucks play a crucial role in everyday transportation and business operations. But what exactly is a light-duty truck? In this guide, we’ll break it down in simple terms, covering definitions, classifications, features, uses, and comparisons to heavier trucks. If you’re considering buying one or just want to learn more, this is your ultimate guide.

What Exactly Is a Light Duty Truck?
A light-duty truck is a vehicle designed for general transportation and light commercial work. Unlike heavy-duty trucks that carry massive loads and require specialized licenses, light-duty trucks are more fuel-efficient, easier to drive, and suitable for personal and business use. These trucks typically have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of up to 10,000 pounds.
How Light-Duty Trucks Differ from Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks
Light-Duty Trucks (GVWR up to 10,000 lbs) — Common pickup trucks, vans, and SUVs. Medium-Duty Trucks (GVWR between 10,001–26,000 lbs) — Box trucks, larger delivery trucks. Heavy-Duty Trucks (GVWR over 26,001 lbs) — Semi-trucks, dump trucks, and large commercial vehicles. Some well-known light-duty trucks include the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and Ram 1500.
Light-Duty Truck Classification
How Light Trucks Are Classified
Light-duty trucks are categorized based on their Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) classifies vehicles into weight classes: Class 1: GVWR up to 6,000 lbs (e.g., compact pickups, smaller SUVs) Class 2: GVWR between 6,001–10,000 lbs (full-size pickups, larger SUVs) These classifications determine towing capacities, commercial use, and even road regulations.
Key Features of Light-Duty Trucks
Gross Vehicle Weight & Payload Capacity
A light-duty truck’s GVWR affects its payload capacity — the total weight it can carry, including passengers, cargo, and fuel. Typical payload range: 1,500–3,000 lbs Towing capacity: 5,000–12,000 lbs, depending on the model
Common Types of Light-Duty Trucks
Pickup Trucks
The most popular light-duty trucks are half-ton pickups like the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and Toyota Tundra. They’re widely used for personal and business purposes due to their versatility and towing power.
Vans and SUVs
Light-duty cargo vans (e.g., Ford Transit, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter) and SUVs serve businesses, contractors, and families. They provide enclosed storage and passenger transport capabilities.
Small Commercial Trucks
Trucks like the Isuzu NPR and Chevy Express are used for deliveries and small-scale commercial transportation.
Fuel Efficiency and Performance
One advantage of light-duty trucks is fuel efficiency compared to heavier trucks. Most run on gasoline or diesel, with many new models offering hybrid and electric versions for better mileage. Gasoline models: More affordable upfront, lower torque Diesel models: Higher fuel economy, better towing power Electric models: Zero emissions, lower running costs (e.g., Ford F-150 Lightning)
Safety & Convenience Features
Modern light-duty trucks come equipped with advanced safety features, including: Airbags and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) for crash protection Lane Departure Warning & Adaptive Cruise Control for safer driving Infotainment systems with Bluetooth and GPS for convenience These features make light-duty trucks comfortable and secure for everyday use.
What Are Light-Duty Trucks Used For?
Personal Use
Daily commuting Road trips and off-roading (e.g., Ford Raptor for rugged terrain) Hauling furniture or small trailers
Business Use
Contractors and landscapers use pickups for transporting tools and materials. Delivery companies use light vans for local transportation. Property towing companies like ours in San Diego, CA rely on light-duty tow trucks for moving vehicles.

Choosing the Right Light-Duty Truck for Your Needs
If you’re in the market for a light-duty truck, consider these factors: Payload & Towing Capacity — Match it with your needs (e.g., towing a boat vs. daily driving). Fuel Type — Gasoline for general use, diesel for heavy loads. Cab Size & Bed Length — Regular, extended, or crew cab for passengers; short or long bed for cargo.
Best Light-Duty Trucks for Towing
Ford F-150 — Tows up to 14,000 lbs with the right engine Chevy Silverado 1500 — Offers multiple engine choices Ram 1500 — Smooth ride with strong towing capabilities
5. Light-Duty vs. Heavy-Duty Trucks
When choosing a truck, it's important to consider whether a light-duty or heavy-duty model suits your needs.
Light-duty trucks have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of up to 10,000 lbs, offering better fuel efficiency and a towing capacity of up to 12,000 lbs. They are ideal for daily driving, small businesses, and towing boats.
On the other hand, heavy-duty trucks have a GVWR over 10,000 lbs, with lower fuel efficiency but a towing capacity exceeding 20,000 lbs. They are best suited for industrial work, hauling large trailers, and heavy-duty tasks.
If you don’t need maximum towing power, a light-duty truck provides greater versatility, fuel savings, and cost-effectiveness.

oh i never responded to this.
i'm not confident but my best guess would be a class 158. transport for wales red handle and a carpeted floor with signs of wear. the other tfw sprinters (classes 150 and 153) and class 230 don't seem to have carpeted floors in their refurbishments. the class 197s, 231s and 756s are much newer and use a different carpet. it could be a 175 but at time of posting they are out of service.
so yeah
most confident: 158
second guesses: 150, 153, 175

My spinning wheel is going on an extended holiday with @trueishcolours!
Step 0, too tragic to photograph aka I forgot: dramatic goodbye between this wheel and the miniature music box spinning wheel
Step 1: lift to the train station courtesy of @hebrideansky! Wheel fits perfectly in a dog crate, if you have the perfect sizes of wheel and crate.
Step 2: who needs a folding wheel when you can just sort of hook it over your shoulder around town while you buy out the bakery of all their cherry scones
Step 3: we are aboard and pretending to be a bicycle! (The heater is off, I checked.) One person asked questions on the platform but there have been surprisingly few weird looks. @identifying-uk-trains-in-posts here's one for you if you like

BEST FLASHLIGHT

At the point when the principal power blackout happens each winter, individuals race to discover an electric lamp in their home and understand the batteries are dead or the spotlight isn't the place they thought. Electric lamps are an extraordinary wellbeing gadget when the lights abruptly go out or when you are exploring the great outdoors and need a wellspring of light when the sun goes down. Individual lighting gadgets, as spotlights are frequently called nowadays, have a lot of contrasts.
Consider your proposed use for the electric lamp - will you bring it outdoors, are you in law requirement, submerged plunging, giving in, or will it be an overall family spotlight. On the off chance that you are a hiker, at that point you would need the lightest, least demanding electric lamp to convey while something that sits in your drawers at home for when the force goes out can be bulkier and run on batteries.
Hand held spotlights work admirably when you just need them on for a couple of moments, however a headlamp is ideal for assignments that require your hands to be free (expanded force blackout, setting up camp, and so forth.). Most spotlights are produced using aluminum or plastic/polymer. The well known Mag arrangement of electric lamps are produced using aluminum which makes them strong. An anodize finish on the aluminum electric lamps is the hardest completion accessible and all Arc brand lights utilize this just as a portion of the Surefire spotlights.
Purchasing Guide - The fundamental kinds of bulbs you will discover in electric lamps are flourescent, LED, or radiant. Radiant bulbs produce light by warming a fiber, LEDs are extraordinary at delivering light at lower light levels, and flourescent bulbs make light that is "milder" and can't be engaged into a bar. Driven bulbs are gradually developing in piece of the pie as they are considerably more effective than brilliant bulbs (enduring 5-10 times longer).
The one disadvantage to LED spotlights is that they are not as brilliant as radiant models. All spotlights run on either lithium, soluble or battery-powered batteries. Different highlights to consider are smooth or finished reflectors, o-ring or gasket seals, various sorts of on/off switches, and obviously cost. At last you need an electric lamp you can rely on to work in a crisis circumstance and positively be tough. Since spotlights can be made for an assortment of purposes, if it's not too much trouble see our rundowns underneath of the most well known and top rated lights in every classification.
We had the option to get quality appraisals and audits online. These specialists and buyer encounters with many brands gave us clear input on which ones play out the best. The top selling brand names are Streamlight, Coast, Maglite, Pelican, Princeton, Inova, Gerber, Coleman, Rayovac, and Surefire. You can peruse the top selling electric lamps online here.
With regards to quality electric lamps that keep going quite a while, radiate amazing light and are easy to utilize, I generally suggest a MagLite. I for one own the Mag Instrument Flashlight - one of the top electric lamps utilized by cops and safety officers. The durable plan consistently makes me figure it could serve as a weapon in the event that you stumble into a criminal or prowler in your home.
It's accuracy machined, high quality aluminum combination case make it sturdy and the fixed O-rings make it water safe. For under $20, how might you turn out badly with a Mag Lite electric lamp. It takes D batteries which last around 2 years of normal runtime. Another newcomer that we discovered magnificent audits on was the Garrity Power Lite 3 LED Crank Light ($11).
For a generally modest electric lamp, the Garrity performs well with its inventive self fueled wrench light. You wrap up the light for around brief which at that point allows you an hour of light. It's conservative, takes no batteries, and the amplifying focal point delivers an enormous bar. Clients acclaim this model for coming through during power blackouts when different electric lamps had dead batteries and were futile.
The best battery-powered spotlight is the Streamlight 78014 Ultra Stinger ($105) - highlights a xenon bi-pin bulb which delivers up to 75,000 candlepower, is built of dark, machined aluminum with a customary press button switch. Clients state the spot/flood bar is ground-breaking and the Nickel-cadmium 6 volt battery is battery-powered up to multiple times.
This Streamlight electric lamp is a little more than 11 creeps long and performs perfectly. Proprietors state it gets a full energize in next to no time and it's lightweight form makes it simple to continue evening canine strolls or other open air exercises around evening time. The police office in our modest community suggests these lights for property holders. The Surefire 8AX Commander is an extraordinary battery-powered glowing electric lamp that sells for about $140-$200. This strategic spotlight is extraordinary for hands on obligations (incredible for night watches) or only for general use around your home.
The high power bar will illuminate anything easily and it's conservative form at under 7 inches makes it simple to convey. Surefire likewise makes the L7 LumaMax Kit ($225) - a more costly battery-powered LED electric lamp with stretched out runtime and up to 100 lumens of yield. You can see the most mainstream battery-powered spotlights here.
For first in class LED electric lamps, we go with Inova spotlights. The Inova XO LED Flashlight sells for $56. Inova lights are constructed extreme and the LED electric lamps they produce are proficient, sliced through dimness, and work up to 200'. We read an audit online composed by an expert circuit repairman and after the applause he gave the Inova spotlight we investigated the model all the more genuinely and found that innumerable different property holders and hands on experts appraised it similarly as high.
Driven bulbs are lifetime ensured, and the Inova is waterproof also. This is the best mid-go estimated LED electric lamp we could discover. The Surefire L1 LumaMax ($135) is a top of the line LED Flashlight with extraordinary client input as well. The Surefire is reduced and the double yield LED spotlight illuminates dim regions with no issue. Suggested - See all the top of the line Surefire LED spotlights here.
At the point when we went searching for a waterproof spotlight, all analysts guided us toward a Pelican electric lamp. They make probably the best water safe lights available and the little Pelican MityLite 1900 ($12.50) is a submarine spotlight. The Pelican electric lamp is intense, has an excessively brilliant xenon shaft, can go down just about 500 feet, and incorporates a lifetime ensure. Most spotlights produce a yellowish shaft, yet the Pelican has a ground-breaking, splendid pillar that slices through haze, smoke, and residue just as water.
The Mitylite is an incredible individual light, however for genuine jumpers, we think the Aqua Kinglite 4100 ($100) from Pelican is the most ideal decision in waterproof electric lamps. The Pelican 4100 has an ABS body, polycarbonate focal point, and is absolutely compound safe and consumption verification. You get 2 reflectors - a changed spot and a laser spot both ideal for submerged use.
Headlamps are extremely helpful as we referenced above when you need your hands free in a dull situation. Regardless of whether you are setting up a campground late around evening time or surrendering and need your hands to do different things other than hold a spotlight, at that point claiming a headlamp is significant. The main 2 producers of headlamps are Petzl and Streamlight.
The best headlamp per analysts is the Petzl E47P Tikka Plus Headlamp ($35) - it's water safe and doesn't short out whenever lowered, gives you right around 150 hours of consume time, has a brilliant tilt highlight and fits effectively in toolboxs, glove boxes, or your pocket. The Tikka headlamp fits cozily and sparkles brilliant. Clients state it's a basic bit of open air gear for climbing or outdoors. Mechanics who work under vehicles state the Petzl headlamp is a lifeline and gives them a definitive opportunity to utilize their hands on work and not holding a light set up.
Numerous buyers additionally noticed that during the brief long periods of winter, when sprinters go out during the dim hours after work, having a Petzl headlamp is an extraordinary wellbeing assistant to have. The Petzl E48P Zipka Plus Headlamp for $30 is another top merchant. The Streamlight 61052 Septor Super-Bright 7 LED Headlight ($30) is one of our top picks with splendid white LEDs, 3 degrees of lighting and the choice for either an elastic or plastic tie.
A few analysts who accomplish work under houses (telecom, ventilation work, and so on) state the Streamlight is agreeable and gives a lot of light while in outrageous dim and restricted living arrangements. The folks like the Princeton Tec Apex model with the Luxeon LED light which sells for about $65.

In an ongoing report, published in famous Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, the bio-mechanics of step rate were dissected. Analysts checked three-dimensional kinematics and energy in 45 solid, recreational runners and gave unique consideration to the lower leg joints, knee & hip. They found that slight increments in stride rhythm, prompted noteworthy decreases in stacking, specially on the knee and hip joints. They speculated, this might help forestall few most predominant running injuries.
"It diminishes the vertical stacking rate and the weight on the skeletal system of human, specifically the lower back along with knees & hip," says again by expert about expanded cadence.
A snappier cadence for the most part drives any runner to hit mid-foot compared with other sprinters with longer walks. This more drawn out step makes runners to expand their legs out before their body, to make a breaking impact. This will back you off and lead to wounds if continued.

Running rhythm is inseparably connected to economy since it influences the manner in which anyone strike the ground. Better form and ideal rhythm converts into improved running economy and quicker times so often.

Now you have a number, remember that numerous recreational sprinters strike somewhere in the range of 150 and 155 times in each minute. So start attempting to improve it now.
A metronome can be an extraordinary instrument when you are on a treadmill. There are lot of spots to download a metronome mp3 set to 180 beats for each minute.
Then again, download 10 to 15 songs that are around 180 beats for every minute. Check web for ideas or download a program that dissects songs and records the beats on each minute. You can even haul in more slow music and push them reset to 180 bpm!
The progress to a quicker cadence may at first feel new, however as you accomplish that ideal cadence, it will turn out to be natural.
Soon you'll wind up running quicker with these running hacks and be more productively than before, getting you somewhat closer to the professionals.

Construction: SAME OLD:
The great thing about Garmin Forerunner watches would be They are not and focused at the health devotee way of lifestyle buyers, they are planned over, well, looking beautiful. They're not likely to make you the envy One of your companions. If your companions are usually preparing for marathons, except. The equivalent goes to your Forerunner 945. It is an all-dark Structure that looks indistinguishable from the Forerunner 935 that preceded it. It has comparable measurements, 1.2in shading display and fiber-strengthened plastic plastic casing. The perceptible distinction is the catches are all the greater a firearm metal shading rather than silver.
What is happening within is an story, nonetheless. Yet, More on this later:
Contrasted with the Garmin's all the more very good quality Fenix 5 Plus smartwatch, the Forerunner 945 has the equivalent outside measurements but is 2.1mm slimmer, just as being a really robust 36g lighter at only 50g (due to the plastic plan), which really has any sort of influence on the wrist. With Regard to the tie, it's a silicone QuickFit-skilled 22mm offering, and is overly stretchy, making the Forerunner 945 feel completely good about the wrist and also in this way sufficient to wear each second of each day.A circle configuration that is scored also keeps the dramatic Finish setup, with a silicone ring which has different openings all that is.Not like Garmin's more purchaser well disposed Smartwatch, the Vivoactive 3 Music, the Forerunner 945 is controlled completely utilizing catches rather than a touchscreen. It's a sport watch that is straightforward that is genuine.Catch control functions admirably destroying any Unintentional directions that may happen with jelqing thumbs. The catches are metal so do not destroy the Garmin Forerunner 945's water resistance. It's assessed to 5 ATM, which carries out the obligation for swimmingpool. Regardless of the fact FYI, the Fenix 5 Plus goes further with 10 ATM obstruction. So Far as display, some may be baffled, Particularly if looking at it any semblance of Fitbit's energetic direct watch, the Ionic, for example. While this dull shading LCD has gap that is more horrible Than your usual smartwatch, the upside is that it barely uses any electricity so brings about executioner battery lifetime, an additional way by which the Forerunner penances execution over design.Another favorable here is that the screen gets clear As surrounding mild increments, so on the off likelihood that you are fortunate enough to keep running in an unusual bright day, at that point there is no stress of not seeing the presentation. In the case of conducting during the day press on the Light catch on the upper left side to start up the front light, which is minimal like the light of a good Casio complex watch.ou can not expect the Forerunner 945's display Apple Watch, however you can expect that it must last one serious part longer between charges. As far as improvements over the Forerunner 935, the 945 has available music financing such as spilling administrations Deezer along with Spotify, just as reconciliation of Garmin Pay (at last). You'll additionally discover a pulse oximeter, branded with Garmin as'Heartbeat Ox4', which enables clients to comprehend how well their body is ventilated oxygen. There is additionally stress after, incident recognition, which sends a robotized SMS and email with your title and GPS place to your emergency contacts, and the new Elevate HR sensor, which uses Garmin's very own restrictive optical-based heartbeat detector innovation.Another new component that we like is the integrated Wi-Fi Radio, which means that your motion information is going to be paired up to your Garmin Connect account when you return to a newly hosted Wi-Fi zone. It is decent to have your info naturally matched up on your Garmin account if you appear residence. This produces the audio institution quickly and simple. For battery life, Garmin claims the Forerunner 945 will maintain Going for provided about fourteen times in smartwatch manner, as long as 36 hours at GPS mode, and as long as ten hours in GPS manner with music playing. As far as we can tell, these cases to be for the most part exact. Nobody that is albeit only uses 1 element. We found the opinion kept going a little more than seven days using every one of those highlights sporadically, exercising for an hour after consistently or 2. This improved battery life suggests it's an incredible option for following an whole day of scaling, as an instance, as there are a lot of distinct manufacturers of smartwatches that can battle with that due to the powerful requests of always on GPS.
Execution: A True TROOPER:
While the Forerunner 945 is gone for long distance runners Its set of capabilities, and sprinters spreads path .Press the Start/Stop grab on the top right and you'll Locate an whole plenty of athletic exercises, such as skiing, SUP, and even yoga. While we didn't get the chance to appraise every of the on the rundown throughout the audit procedurewe did a few runs, a touch of biking and a few yoga to perceive how nicely the Forerunner faked in its own wellness after. For all these it utilizes its pulse sensor, GPS and, when Out elevation. Long gone are the days when you had to have to trust that the GPS will kick before beginning a run. About the Forerunner 945, it evolves.Just as we can tell, accuracy was first class, as well, Giving you a similar unshakable GPS association and commendable following exactness as Garmin's increasingly more rigorous versions. You're just ever a grab press and tap from beginning a session.
Pulse checking appears to be exact. It Works by carrying readings around frequently, so it and continually assessing your BPM reacts to fluctuations decent and eloquent.Working in most respects, the 945 surely feels just like a Loyal friend. Be as it might, it's important that if the Forerunner 945 is watertight, its optical pulse screen still does not work submerged, so you will have to purchase the HRM-Tri or HRM-Swim ties also to find info regarding your ticker whilst swimmingpool. Furthermore, this doesn't come modest, retailing for about #150 for your own group pack.
SMARTWATCH AND Program FEATURES: STAR REPORTER:
