Energy is both ever-present and ever-changing.
It is both permanent and fluctuating.
It is both stable and fluid.
Contradictory? Energy is contradictory because energy is never a specific solid thing. It’s a force. It’s immaterial. It’s something you cannot perceive of but interact and engage with always. Constantly. Forever.
It’s energy. Energy is never created, never destroyed. Energy never stays still and yet we perceive it as if it does because we slow it down ourselves. That’s how powerful our minds actually are. How complex it is to exist, to engage, to interact, to experience. To be. And our minds do all of that naturally, instinctually, easily.
We not only generate the information that we perceive and experience, we also edit it in real time. And we turn what is a split-second event/moment/experience into a memory. Into something that has passed but can still be engaged with through the filter thought and emotion. That’s all mental. Every single bit of it.
But reality itself - regardless what it looks, sounds, feels like - is fleeting. It is already something new as nature is nothing but the process of transformation.
Moving - always in movement. Always transforming.
Always in a state and position of there and not there at the same time. Simultaneously 0 and 1 together.
We naturally gravitate towards nature ourselves as human beings because we’re meant to move with it because we are no different to it. We ARE nature too.
We’re not supposed to stay static. A permanence. A “thing” specific from any other “thing” and have a unique identification of from it. We think that we do but that’s because we’re so used to having a dual perspective. It’s the first perspective we ever have when we’re born. To have an “I” and then an “other”, completely ignoring the fact we couldn’t have either without both there at the time working in tandem like a machine. Clockwork. The functionality of the cogs. That’s what we are because that’s what we do. But we forget that we couldn’t do any of it without each other.
As energy and nature we are as a unit of being. One. We put what we experience as “reality” here with us because the whole point is to experience it as real. We have a dual perspective immediately as soon as we’re born because we’re fundamentally not dual. It would be impossible to experience anything if we really were because energy and nature doesn’t ever work alone - separately. There’s always the force and the yield. And nothing ever is or gets done without both interacting.
That’s what “reality” is. It’s interaction and motion. Action and reaction. Cause and effect. There is always an experience of something because there is always a process of change. Ever-present change. Existence is not ever still. It can’t be or it won’t be. It couldn’t be.
But as soon as you place an identification on any part of it that you focus on and zero in on - then it is being. Then it suddenly exists. Because you’ve conceived it.
This processing. This generating. This conceiving. It’s all natural. It’s so natural that we never notice we do it. Our natural state is of what everything else is - nature itself - but we possess a unique trait or skill that gives us dual perspective. Consciousness. Self-awareness. Self-enquiry. And as the theoretical physicist David Chalmers puts it - the hard problem is not figuring out what consciousness is or how any human being can possess consciousness. It is why are we conscious?
But if you ask me - not that you would - the answer is actually very simple. We are because we have to be. I say it’s that nothing would ever exist if we were not conscious. For me consciousness is a fundamental constant of reality. Of having a real experience. It’s a component that is so crucial to the computation of 0+1 that no equation would ever add up without it. You could spend an eternity trying to work it out from the outside looking in, but you’ll never reach a conclusion without the inside looking out. So let’s change the perspective. Not necessarily get rid of the paradigm but rearrange it somewhat. Try something new with it.
Consciousness is as fundamental as energy and nature. Not just in physics, but in every science. You simply cannot “science” without it, so why even try?
If you asked a reductionary classical and conventional physicist to even entertain the thought of combining the metaphysical with the mathematical, they would laugh at you. They would tell you that you’re insane. So it’s not that they can’t do it. It’s that they don’t want to do it because they’re so afraid of the truth. David Chalmers appears to be the only theoretical physicist and philosopher that will ask these questions where the metaphysics does have to be talked about. So, therefore, he is the only one worth my attention.
You know, being a neuroscientist really does sound incredibly exciting. But the restrictions man… the limited perceptions and understandings of the mind… it would drive me crazy to be in a field of science that’s so interesting but is ultimately boxed in lies. To study the brain and its infinite complex capabilities,… just to ignore the fact it is literally rendering itself along with everything else in its energetic field…
I couldn’t be apart of something so close-minded that’s meant to expand awareness of the Universe and that naturally, instinctually, easily does by default. Talking about the contradictions in the world - that’s a big one. I could not be apart of neuroscience because I’d be constantly questioning and challenging the intentions and purposes of studying the mind. I’d say things that were so far removed from the objective of the job that I know I would be fired on the spot for it. Even something as simple as “the mind isn’t in the brain, - the mind is omnipresent. It is everywhere.” Even that is too much for the current neuroscience because it’s too metaphysical. Too esoteric for it. No, I don’t belong in neuroscience. Nor even physics. In fact I don’t belong in any science. I’ll be interested in it, absolutely. But my views are just too unconventional and no scientist except this brave man would listen.
I’ve had a theory of everything for practically my whole life. I’ve been building on it more and more as I aged. But it’s too fucking OUT THERE to be heard. Even though it’s logical and based entirely on the information and evidence - both empirical and not - that we have already as well some strong predications from my claircognizance. It is ultimately very sound if one even dares to attempt to entertain metaphysics. Because until you can - it will always sound insane because unknown information is insane. People are afraid of what they don’t or can’t know. Well, I’ve never had the luxury of being able to deny what I shouldn’t know because my mind has never worked that way. I’ve always known shit I shouldn’t or couldn’t possibly know. I’ve always been aware but not of how or why. And it did always drive me crazy until I embraced it. Until I finally fucking accepted that yes, I am psychic. I do possess an expanded awareness than most people. Extra-sensory perceptive abilities very few people do. Abilities that have saved my life more times than I can count. That have led me down a path I couldn’t have possibly seen without it. That have always guided me. Eventually I had to accept that the shit that made me crazy was the same shit that made me able to be me. That only by getting lost could I ever be found again. That’s what a “spiritual awakening” is. A reckoning. And even someone like me - Miss INTP, that needs logic and facts and rationality - was metaphysical and therefore had to accept that the metaphysical exists. Because how the fuck can you deny your own being? I couldn’t deny any of that exists when it was who I am. I am metaphysical. I am spiritual. I am divine. I am multidimensional. There’s no way I can deny it when it’s literally my life every single waking second of it.
So yeah, consciousness is fundamental to me. The subjective is all I have. “Reality” cannot be without it. I don’t think Chalmers is “on to something”. I think he is fucking SPOT ON and people need to listen to him. And not just him. Robert Lanza. Alan Watts. Sadhguru. Spinoza. And even Albert Einstein to a degree as well. We’re all ultimately saying the same thing. Just differently. Majorly differently. Using different terms and definitions, metaphors and frames of reference.
But we are all ultimately saying the exact same thing.
That we have had it all very wrong to begin with. Classical physics. Newtonian physics. Darwinism.
We’ve got it all wrong as a collective consciousness.
And because we’re ultimately stuck for answers in science currently…. We have to do what scares us.
We have to start involving consciousness and talking about metaphysics seriously. It’s a philosophy of physics. A whole new paradigm of getting to the truth of how it all works. Nature. Energy. Us. Everything.
We’re at a standstill. Yes, we’re making discoveries and progress in everything else but the fundamental problem - the umbrella of the whole thing - is ?????.
We don’t know. Except we do - we just can’t face it.
We have to make consciousness a fundamental constant. As fundamental as gravity and electromagnetics. the strong and weak nuclear forces. We have to because we’re getting nowhere without it.
They’re afraid. They’re all fucking afraid. Cowards.
The only one that doesn’t seem to be is Chalmers.

John Leslie - Pantheism: Is God All Reality?
Is our search for God too narrow? Why do some philosophers espouse 'pantheism'? Pantheism's claim is not shy: God is the Cosmos and the Cosmos is God.

Hi me again. Prompt for around two posts you did previously where Magnus tells Ragnor about Alec straight away and in response Ragnor gets Magnus to court Alec in a way Alec actually understands.
I don’t know if you even remember these, but if you do I was wondering if you would at more to this verse.
I really liked Ragnor just going stop putting yourself down and overthinking things, to Magnus
SFW
Hi again!!
here is some more of it, last part and name is closer to the truth now since I need to name things in order to find them again lol
i definitely remembered but it did take a bit of wrangling to find them (I didn't want to write something that didn't work) so here we go! and I hope you enjoy, this is sfw tho sex is mentioned abstractly. mostly in the fact that it hasn't happened (Ragnor is nosy).
also they kiss but i think that counts as safe for work, however let me know if not I know I have a bit of a skewed perspective

closer to the truth
Alec had expected...
Honestly he doesn’t know what he expected.
Magnus Bane is so far from predictable that Alec doubts anyone could guess his moves without careful insight, thoughts and planning.  He’s brilliant and magical and even just the way he talks about rituals is captivating.
It makes Alec pay attention to his words when all he wants to do is look at Magnus.
Magnus makes it easy to look at him and harder still to look away.  He sprawls out with easy charm, the skin of his chest highlighted by necklaces and his pants tight enough that Alec knows it’s on purpose.
It’s pure torment but to say anything would be to admit that he’s noticed and Alec’s not ready yet for what will follow.
He’s close.
He can’t not be.
Not with the way Bane talks and moves and especially because Bane becomes Magnus in between one breath and the next. Alec tries but he can’t keep his voice from softening or from going off topic when Magnus offers him the book of rituals.  Just because Alec mentioned he likes the feel of older books.
It’s an honor to hold something so magical and yet what truly thrills Alec is that it’s Magnus’ magic.
They come to an agreement and as the anchor Alec will be tied to Magnus, not Clary.
At least Jace won’t be able to complain about that.
Alec wants to stay but knows he should go yet he waivers, waiting for an excuse and Magnus provides one.
The first drink is awful but before Alec can even try to pretend to like it, Magnus has snapped it away and is stepping closer, ignoring the table between them to personally lift a new glass to Alec’s lips.
If Magnus is trying to seduce him, it's working.
The drink may be delicious but what is even more appealing is how Magnus noticed and cared that Alec didn't like the first drink.
Even if Magnus did it in the most dramatic way possible.
“I don’t know much about food outside the Institute.” Is all Alec can admit, because he’s not sure what else to say and doesn’t want to suggest something he doesn’t know.
“Let's talk a bit first then, and perhaps after you’ll trust me to order for you?”
They talk about everything for over an hour.
Alec thinks he’ll be on edge, the reminder that he’s alone with a man he’s attracted to who has made at least one overture towards him should be overwhelming.
Yet Alec feels safe.
He feels seen and secure and admired and he finds himself wanting more and more as Magnus — who never went back to his own chair — sits next to him.  Magnus’ thigh is hot and Alec imagines he can feel the heat seeping through his jeans to his skin.
Alec swallows, wishing very suddenly not that he hadn’t stayed, but that he hadn’t hesitated at all earlier.  Wouldn’t it have been easier now? If he’d let Magnus take the leap then.
It feels like an invisible barrier Alec doesn’t know how to cross and he’s beginning to feel helpless when fingers press warm and firm against his jaw.
“You’ve wandered away from me, Alexander.” Magnus’ gaze holds no censure, but his voice is as firm as his grip. There’s no blame and Alec wonders if this is what it’s like to feel benediction.
“Sorry,” he murmurs because he is and his lips brush where Magnus' thumb presses against the corner of his mouth.  It’s tempting to turn and take Magnus’ thumb into his mouth but Alec only knows the instinct, not what he’s supposed to do after.
Magnus makes the choice for him and it’s a relief to give in.
—-
It’s such a simple, small touch and yet Alexander whimpers when Magnus pets his thumb over Alexander’s lips. He’s so very eager for even the most delicate of intimacies.
It’s a pity to delay the expansion of Alexander’s palette — Magnus has an idea now of what his shadowwhunter will like from their talk — but Magnus is hungry for something else now and by the look and sound, so is Alexander.
Magnus will take the opportunity offered to him and Ragnor did tell him not to let Alexander doubt him.
“I kiss you, pretty boy.” Magnus is quiet but his words have Alexander’s eyes and attention on him, his breathing quickening. “And it means something. You understand? I’m not someone you experiment with, Alexander. I kiss you, I keep you. As simple as that.”
Alexander’s mouth crashes into his own, as if he’s barely been holding back except for the worry that perhaps, this wasn’t mutual.
Magnus isn’t sure how much or which parts of his reputation Alexander has heard, but he doubts any of it is good when it comes to relationships. Even if Alexander doesn’t pay attention to that kind of thing, the words once whispered can still linger for years.
Magnus won’t risk his boy thinking Magnus isn’t serious.
Not after his discussion with Ragnor.
Not when it’s clear that such easily meant words evoke such relieved passion in Alexander.
Magnus is also relieved, mostly that Ragnor saw through the heart of it.
Magnus never would have guessed the amount of passion that Alexander already held concerning him.  Especially when every time Magnus shifts — as if he might move away — Alexander whines, lips pressing closer and fingers hesitantly more persistent on Magnus’ thigh.
They’re fairly chaste kisses, all things considered.  For all that Alexander sounds as though he’s fought a battle, his breath coming fast and unsteady, Magnus hasn’t even fully tasted him yet.
No, this is just from some long, lingering kisses and a few simple moments of savoring each other.
Alexander pants against Magnus’ mouth and for a moment their foreheads touch.
“I think my meeting might need to be extended.” Alexander finally whispers, “I’ll let them know later that it took a while to compile compatible rituals.”
Magnus smirks, just because he can, “should I keep you up all night for authenticity, then? Or should I let you sleep if I’d like.”
“Oh, if you’d like?” Alexander teases back and Magnus chuckles, loving to see it.
“Isn’t that what you’d enjoy, darling? Doing what I like?” Alexander tries to roll his eyes but his fingers tighten on Magnus’ shoulders and finally he nods, as if the admittance is half the problem.
“Good boy.” Magnus kisses Alexander’s jaw, feeling him shiver at the praise and the caress.
—-
“So, how did it go?” Ragnor asks the moment he picks up the phone, not even bothering to greet Magnus.
“How do you know it went anywhere?” Magnus settles against his pillows and runs his fingers through Alexander’s hair, the weight of him against Magnus’ side solid.
“You aren’t one to sit around, ducky. Not once you’ve made up your mind. I don’t know where it went, I just know it did. So tell me, how did it go?"
“Just sleeping.” Magnus sniffs dramatically when Ragnor stays silent, as if he doesn’t believe him. “He practically swooned from a few kisses, Ragnor. I didn’t realize how right you were about his inexperience. I am happy to admit that I nearly made a rather large mistake with the way I had intended to approach him and am most grateful for you."
That out of the way, Magnus takes a large sip of his tea. "Anyway, for your information, we’re both wearing pajamas.  Both of us, Ragnor, do you understand how devastating being gentlemanly is on my poor skin?”
“Oh stop complaining, you’re only wearing the pants, aren’t you?”
Magnus feels rather outraged that Ragnor knows him so well, “I normally sleep naked Ragnor. The pants are enough of a nightmare.”
“Unfortunately, I am aware of your unnecessary sleeping habits.”
“Besides, don't tell me you didn’t get him out of his shirt as well. I know you Magnus, even if it’s as innocent as you say.”
Magnus frowns from where his fingers are possessively tracing the patterns of an already memorized rune.
“You are the most dreadful being in the world, cabbage. Truly.” Magnus is sincerely proud of himself for being so restrained. The sum of his efforts is currently because he wants this to be a gentle exploration as Alexander learns to stop holding back.
Also there is no need to rush it, not when it feels as though something soft and sacred is being slowly built.
“Yes, I am aware and proud of it. Now, do you feel like you’ve achieved what you wanted? You said you took the initiative.”
“Ah, well he wants to be kept.” Magnus ignores Ragnor’s sound of faux dismay, “and you were right. He’s never done this. Any of this. He was holding on by a bare thread but not directly because of me.”
Magnus is relieved for both the magical bubble he’s placed around himself and the phone and the use of a language Alexander won’t understand.
Because while it’s rather rude to speak like this while Alexander is sleeping directly beside him, it’s also a conversation that needs to happen now.  With advice that Magnus can start using the moment Alexander wakes up.
“Now, how do I keep him? Truly. Even with the bullshit the Clave will pull”
“I think you’re well on the way to that already.” Ragnor reminds him and Magnus knows that, the evidence is Alexander’s body lying next to his own. “As for politically, we'll just have to make sure that Jocelyn and her ilk can’t blame anything on him. You know how that woman can be. As long as they aren’t given an easy excuse, they can’t outright punish him just for dating you.”
Magnus does know and suddenly he’s quite a bit more wary of Clary’s involvement.
“And the personal aspect?” Because it’s already gnawing at Magnus, on how to keep his lovely shadowhunter who is so innocent in some ways and so very dangerous in others.
“I don’t know much about shadowhunter love lives, ducky. Trust your instinct in the personal aspect, but from an outside perspective he seems a bit undermined. I’m sure being, as I stated earlier, a safe space for him to retire to is your best option. Make yourself a place he craves, until he runs to you without realizing his feet are even moving.”
AN:
Ragnor: well this is how I would trap an emotionally wounded and undermined shadowhunter commander, except add an element of you to it. since you know, he's attracted to you
Magnus: *is Magnus with a side of aggressively Magnus comfort*
Alec: ... is this what mundanes call heaven?
-
Magnus complaining to Ragnor: having to wear pants to bed is terrible!! IM SUFFERING
what actually happened:
Alec: we can just sleep naked if you'd prefer. we're just sleeping after all.
Magnus to himself: hahahaha you think I have that good of self restraint????? oh darling. no. no I don't.
Magnus: Alexander why don't you try out the thread count of these pants, hmm? please? (silently under his breath - for my sanity)

steam team's seniors during their baby years
A friend group so weird and toxic to people they dislike it could rival It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s. They're not immune to the "I came to Sodor to avoid my problems and wanted a fresh start" trope many Sudrians also follow
Edward Pettigrew
Age: 31 as of 1984
A kind, friendly NWR railwayman who didn’t mind a lot of things and was popular amongst younger folks for his looks and demeanor. He likes showing newbies the ropes of the NWR and Sodor as a whole because he just loves infodumping. Despite being made fun of by some railwaymen for his “weirdness”, Edward worked hard and was known as the jack-of-all-trades by his peers, usually treating younger and newer railwaymen to drinks after work to get them accustomed to Sodor (he did this to Henry, then Gordon, then James). Originally from the village of Pezë in Tirana, Albania, 1940s. Due to his beginnings in a small rural village and the Albanian government’s censorship of outside influences and heavy restriction of traveling outside the country, Edward’s hunger for knowledge about the world grew more and more. His family had connections to the Lëvizja Nacional-Çlirimtare and Edward’s particularly bright and good at talking, so he became a diplomat to travel outside Albania – a step into his plans of learning more about the world. After landing himself in the United Kingdom and studying everything he wanted, he believes it’s still not enough. He found out about an island infamous for its supernatural occurrences and cases of people missing just off the coast of the UK – Sodor. Being the curious man he is, he discarded everything that’s needed for the LNÇ to locate him and landed on Sodor, gorging himself with every mystery the island has to offer. Impulsive? Yes. But for the first time, Edward felt true freedom. However, Edward got too curious and nosy and became a casualty in an accident fueled by supernatural hysteria related to Lady of the Legend and was transported around 40 years into the future, landing in 1983 with his memories all over the place. Despite losing his sense of self and having no idea what he is, his thirst for knowledge still lives on inside his head. His cheerfulness, amicability, and kindness are extensions he formed to make up for the hole inside his heart. Edward does love his friends, but he believes that if he can withhold information from them and make them all live in blissful ignorance, they can be truly happy – this all stems from his fear of exceeding his limits and being discarded (which he later copes by being a typical wise friendly old man in 1999). He often sees visages of Lady in his dreams.
Gordon J. Gresley
Age: 26 as of 1984
Joined after Henry. Looked like he was fresh out of a funeral. A young hotshot who was more polite, quiet, and reserved compared to his 1999 counterpart. Gordon started out as an apprentice fireman for the Wild Nor’Wester’s previous driver. He treated his arrival on Sodor as a desperate last resort to escape his issues and grief and pitifully believed he was “lumped with the social pariahs in the boonies”, but he’s gotten better and believed that this is where he can truly outshine everyone, much to the annoyance and chagrin of his seniors. Gordon acts like he knows what he’s doing in order to build up his image as someone who’s dependable and strong and revels in small basks of limelight. However, he was constantly uncomfortable with how Edward treated accidents as normal due to their survivors being in tip-top shape the next day and how Henry is so distrustful of and odd about everything and everyone and sweats 24/7, but he’s been masking and convincing himself that he’s not like the rest of them. He’s normal. He’s normal! Let’s all hold hands. Don’t be fooled by his sad face. Young Gordon can be arrogant and think he knows everything for being a youngin.
Henry Stanier
Age: 27 as of 1984
Joined after Edward, so he’s quite close to him. Gordon’s “senior” by 6 months. He’s always, ALWAYS scared endlessly about anything “out of the ordinary” and beats himself up over it, much to his own disgust. Henry had a deep rooted hatred and jealousy towards his peers for pitying him after a coworker revealed to other railwaymen that he’s narcoleptic without his permission. He’s been masking his disabilities despite it being detrimental for his well-being, but as long as people treated him “normally”, Henry would endure (dreadfully). He did this especially with Gordon, the newest addition to the Northwestern Railway at the time, because he didn’t want anyone else to treat him differently when they find out about his health issues. As an extention, Henry developed a vitriol towards Gordon too – he’s particularly jealous about how he’s so “ungrateful” of everything’s given to him like his fair looks, clothes, and position as the to-be face of the Wild Nor’Wester. They did become friends though despite the process not being easy. It’s okay. They became besties that were mean to old nosy folks. Initially wanted to pursue arts, but due to circumstances from his past related to his health and paranoia fueled by his past failures and “jinxes”, he came to Sodor as a half-hearted last resort to get a job. He wasn’t hopeful of having anyone respect him for who he is, but things do get better, much to his surprise.
James A. Hughes
Age: 25 as of 1989
Joined the NWR 5 years after Edward did. At that point, Gordon already discarded his GNR Green look and went for the blue attire (minus the big coat). Flaunts his beauty almost at any given time, especially when someone mildly complimented him. He’s more of a nerd (word used loosely because he acts like a know-it-all when he actually has no idea what he’s doing) compared to his canon, 1999 counterpart. James came to Sodor for a fresh start and believed he deserves more than what he’s given. He thinks he’s so tough and hard as nails – in fact it became his source of hubris because he gets into accidents and was scolded by his seniors for being so vain and stubborn. He doesn’t want to get dirty, he doesn’t want to shovel coal, he doesn’t want to get wet from the washdown suds – he only wants the good out of the work and doesn’t want to accept the “bad” sides as well, so James was branded as the “problem kid” of the NWR by older folks. James, who can’t handle harsh criticism and labels well, grow even more distant with them. He primarily hangs out with the RWS trio because they seem to understand his situation and the feeling of being “outcasted” (despite Gordon’s annoyance at his boastfulness).

The way this still is giving me S1 Devon on the rollercoaster vibes - and if that is what we are getting then I am very intrigued and excited - because Buck struggled to deal with that loss - his first on the job - which parallels a bit with losing Eddie now and Buck struggling with that. But what I’m most excited by about if this is a parallel to that - is that Buck went to therapy - and ended up having sex with her (she took advantage of him but that’s not the thing here) - ill advised sex - sex that did not actually help him at all in dealing with his feelings.
But you know what did - talking to Abby on the phone - and you know who he can only talk to by phone (or video call) right now?!!

Yor worrying that her disappearing because of her job would mean she betrayed the Forgers vs Yor realizing that the risk is worth protecting them.
Grey colours, the Forgers as she first met them having their backs at her with empty, disappointed faces, vs bright, warm colours, the Forgers as she now knows them facing her directly and smiling at her.
She starts the story feeling like an outcast, fearing that no-one, not even her brother, will accept her as she is. That people will turn their back on her, and her life will continue being colourless and lonely.
Then her life fills with colour, with people who will face her head-on and accept her. She develops into confidence that the Forgers care for her and is reminded that even if she ever has to leave because of her job, the knowledge that she protects innocent people...
and that this work of hers will be acknowledged...

... is enough to give her the strength to carry on.

stranger things is a part of the first netflix original series that really blew up. there weren’t many netflix originals back in 2016 and truly the only popular one back then was orange is the new black. season 5 is the LAST season of one of netflix’s biggest shows and has continued to remain popular for almost 10 years. they’re definitely not showing us the trailer till the end.
