MTF Tuvok aboard the USS Excelsior. Though she'll later tell a monk that she seeks kolinahr to be free from desire in all its forms - there's one particular desire she seeks to be free of above all others. [Patreon | Commissions]

She only changes into her pajamas in the dark, once everyone else is asleep. The first two weeks aboard the Excelsior, her roommates noticed this and attempted to catch her in a state of undress but she either evaded them completely or slept in her uniform. "The thing is, we're all guys here, Tuvok. It's just a little weird, that's all." They eventually tired of their game. Especially after Tuvok reported their actions. There is nothing abnormal about Tuvok's body but it at some point became imperative that it not be seen. (Some point = When the androgyny of childhood was no longer present) If it were seen... "We're all guys here, Tuvok." She remembers, staring at her bunkmate's mattress, Jara. The girl she'd had feelings for all those years ago. She has long since forgotten the visceral nature of that romantic pining but she keenly remembers the one time they spoke at length. Jara had been staring at her and when Tuvok asked what was wrong the girl had smiled. "Nothing. Vulcan boys are much prettier than the ones back home. I can't tell the boys from the girls sometimes."

From 'Pathways'. This specific passage is incorporated into my characterization of young Tuvok. The rest of the book? Mmmmm. Up in the air. But Tuvok viewing Humans as brutal, strange, and cruel with a particular dislike of male Humans? Fascinating.
