i got lazy on the last one (which I might finish later), but here’s is the S7 team as the JL

Superman: Morgan because he is seen as a strong protector, is committed to finding the Truth/Justice, is a leader on the team, more sociable than others on the team.

Batman: Hotch because he is the team leader, stoic and silent, is known for being a father, kind and can be humorous under the surface.

Wonder Woman: Prentiss because she is a leader, doesn’t enjoy fighting but is willing and good at it when it comes down to that, a moral compass that is strong but willing to dip down to morally gray, is good with kids.

Zatanna: Garcia because she can work magic, technological or otherwise, has a good sense of flirting humor, has even better fashion sense, and is willing to be a little morally gray to help out those she loves.

Flash: Reid because he is really smart, talks fast, excitable, deals with a lot of guilt, and is always trying to see the good in others.

Black Canary: JJ because she is known for using her voice (Canary Cry vs Media Liaison), iconically blonde, doesn’t take any grief from men, and is very good at hand to hand combat.

Green Arrow: Will because he’s a simp for JJ.

I’m having way tooo much fun with this idea...

It ends and begins like poetry.

Now, Spencer would not usually say that a phone call, of all things, was poetic. Normally he would reserve such a compliment for something more obvious - a sunset, a concerto, a moment that truly deserved it.

The phone call itself was not poetic, though. It was the moments - the seconds, minutes, weeks, years - that followed that made it so.

The phone call was a door slamming closed, a symbolic end to his life as it was, and a forced start to the version it became.

Before the phone call was the yelling. The screaming. The fighting. After the phone call came the cars. After the phone call came the lights, red and blue and red and blue — then the sirens, and the officers, and the doctors, and the questions, and the apologies. Too many apologies, too much pity—

Spencer never was good with pity.

He had always been better at running.

I spent some time putting together a reference document for anyone interested in participating in the 2023 Criminal Minds x DC week!

What is Criminal Minds x DC Week?

CMxDC Week is a week-long fandom event combining the two properties of Criminal Minds and DC Comics - from the Justice League to the BatFam and everything in between!

How do I participate?

A list of prompts will be provided, as chosen by a small group of writers and artists in the Birdwatchers Discord server! There are a total of four prompts (three traditional and one quote) for each of the seven days to mix and match as you please. You may post them whenever you like during the duration of the event. If you post on Archive of our Own (AO3), please add your work to the collection, CMxDC 2023. If you crosspost on Tumblr, make sure to tag #cmxdc2023 and @ this blog so we can be notified and reblog you!

Does it have to be fanfic? 

Nope! Art, moodboards, podfics - if you create it, we want to see it!

When does the event run?

The event will begin Monday January 30, 2023 and end Sunday February 5, 2023.

Can I combine prompts?

Please do! In fact, if you think you won’t be able to do all the days, feel free to combine them too.

Can I combine these prompts with other events?

Sure! I’m sure there are other events out there, so go wild.

Can I include NSFW/Dark content?

Sure can! Given the source material, NSFW and dark content are to be expected at times. However, for safety and courtesy reasons, we do ask that you refrain from submitting sexual content involving minors. With everything else, please be considerate and appropriately rate and tag your works. If you attempt to submit something that falls under this subject or is not properly tagged, we will remove it from the collection and will not reblog.

Day 2 for Criminal Minds x DC Week 2023! @criminalmindsxdc

Also known as me starting another mini-series because I’m having too much fun~

Derek knocks on the door, yells out for Riely. Once, twice…even a third time. There’s no response, and behind him, Spencer can hear Emily shifting her weight to look around.

“I don’t hear anything from the other rooms, either. Are we really sure this is the right place?” she says skeptically.

Derek shoots her a look over his shoulder. “You see anywhere else that fits his pattern?”

Emily starts to argue, but she doesn’t make it any farther than opening her mouth.

There’s a sudden clunk followed by a hiss that Spencer wants to pretend he doesn’t recognize but doesn’t dare take the risk. He swears loudly, and then the world moves in a blur.

He grabs Derek by the collar and yanks hard, at the same time hurrying backwards to guard Emily from what’s to come.

The gas is as sickly green as ever, a tinge of yellow to it that makes it reminiscent of the color of months old mustard. It rolls down the hall as if in slow motion, and Spencer gets them shoved into a - hopefully - empty room and slams the door just in time. He’s tugging his sweater off in the next second, bulletproof vest already tossed aside, and then shoving the plush material along the bottom of the door in an attempt to block any of the gas from getting in.

He tries to ignore the little wisps of yellowy-green that have already made it through, tries not to panic. He knows to be thankful for years of built up tolerance, and knows that the slight pulse of anxiety suddenly clutching at his heart is all that he’ll get if he’s lucky.
