The movies are great because the idea that Lelouch and C.C. decided after all that to fuck off somewhere and pretend to be cool sexy vampires is the single funniest writing decision I have ever seen and it is truly the best possible ending for them.

Roze episode 3 thoughts

Didn't get around to putting my thoughts on episode 2 down last week but basically Ash Phoenix is easily becoming my favorite character in the cast and also catherine is a little funny i think

Anyways as usual below this line will be spoiler talk

Ok so like episode 3 had a lot going on like WOW. LL's new fit looks better in the scene that he shows up in than the concept art ive seen floating around. I have seen some discussions on the lore discrepancies regarding lelouch bestowing the same geass he had onto sakuya/roze however i'll wait and see how things go before i decide my thoughts on that bit. I think throwing a fit over lore contradictions is a bit silly, personally.

The maid cafe section of the episode really brought back the goofy slice of life elements of code geass that you either dread or cherish. For me personally even if a lot of it leans onto fanservice I feel like the more comedic lighthearted moments are necessary to emphasize the drama that happens later. Having Sakuya be forced to balance working at a cafe and also larping as Ash's brother while also having to deal with Ash crushing on her waitress-sona is an entertaining scenario. Although not as layered as the school shenanigans in og Code Geass, they can definitely work with this for 12 episodes i feel. or 4 movies, depending on how you're viewing this.

Ash Phoenix. This character fucking baffles me, dude spends one episode cooking with the hardest one liners possible ("I'll show you that even iron bleeds" is the hardest shit like dude) and then goes into the next episode bumbling and infodumping over a crush. He's perhaps the most endearing character on the cast in my opinion, he's just a silly little guy who loves taking care of puppies and kittens and he loves cooking however he also is highly trained in military combat and has nearly inhuman reflexes (dude moved that coffee cup filled to the brim with coffee at high speeds and somehow DIDNT spill it) like he's just the funniest guy there at this point.

Catherine is another highlight this episode, she appeared with one big scene involving her but I already am enjoying how extra she is. She is like intentionally leaning in to the whole meangirl shtick and yknow what? i think its entertaining as shit personally speaking. like yeah shes a total asshole, everybody in neo britannia is. but that doesnt stop the fact that she is incredibly fucking silly to witness. like one of those characters that you love to shove down a flight of stairs.

Norland had his first speaking role here, I was completely caught off guard hearing Dan fucking Green voicing him. It genuinely took my some time to recognize his voice in the dub but shit man his voice was scary here. I was worried that neo britannia might just be a bit of a pushover going off of how the fights with arnold and the two other guys went, but if anything this episode makes it clear that from this point on, things will only get harder for the protagonists. I hope Norland leaves a lasting impact as what i assume is the main antagonist here.

Callis caught me off guard. His dynamic with Natalia was interesting however I did not expect them to kill him off instantly. Curious as to if this was an inside job or not, either way I expect there to be some moral opposition between Natalia and Sakuya because of this incident, even if Sakuya herself has nothing to do with it.

Also taking another moment to mention Mei because I feel like she's decent comic relief. Her shenanigans when helping Sakuya come up with a fake background for herself at the cafe were really funny to watch.

But yeah, i definitely enjoyed this one more than last week's episode, not that episode 2 was bad or anything I just thing that this one kinda topped it in terms of goofy comedy and also world and character building. I'm really glad the writers managed to recapture that same feel of the original series.

Code Geass Movie Thoughts

Me, in 2016 in an amv description:

*deep breath* CODE GEASS WILL GET A SEQUEL. And I just realized this is my first code geass amv, how did I manage to not do one for so long?? [...] Like, I was so hyped about the news about the sequel, I just had to put all that hype somewhere.

Also me: doesn’t watch the movie until mid 2020

BUT I DID FINALLY! My affection for Code Geass as a whole died down a lot, I came to realize that I don’t really enjoy these grand political shows with huge casts all that much. But I used to really like Code Geass back in the day, it was one of my firsts and as such, I have attachment to at the very least CC, Suzaku and Lelouch.

Either way, here’s my thoughts:

This movie feels like a fanfic and I mean that in a good way for like 60% it. The fact that it feels like that is probably due in large parts that it builds onto the largely popular theory that the cart driver was Lelouch and he got a code. Now I’m not saying that it’s bad, because I (unsurprisingly) enjoy fanfics. But there was something inherently weird about a concept that I did in my fanfic back in the day (Lelouch trauma, basically) being in animated form. I enjoyed that, weirdly. It was like a fan-endorsement - and maybe that’s all this movie is.

I am very much for the whole empty traumatized trope because I enjoy angst. I was actually kind of disappointing that once he got his mind back, there was nothing left of that. Dude’s been through some shit, he got killed for the first time. Surely that hurt. Surely that was traumatizing. It’s not fun to die, I’d imagine. But I can accept that.

World of C however, oh boyyy -- everything to do with the World of C is bullshit. It always was in CG former and it is now as well. And not only that, but the movie would have worked fine without it which upsets me more. I don’t understand why it’s there - Lelouch CAN be traumatized. He won’t be as empty but dude’s been through shit. He can be traumatized and have nightmares and aim around aimlessly with C.C. - if you really want to you could still have that whole mind thing and have him regain it but you could literally remove the C World scenes after that and it would still work, I think, maybe you’d have to repurpose some conversations but it seems do-able to me on first watch. I’m also not sure why there’s suddenly another Code but I guess we never had it be a limit of only 2 codes.

The concept of a time traveler being on the enemy’s side is really interesting, I greatly enjoyed that. I’m not entirely sure what the whole stick with her brother was, but I assume it was in part a connection to Nunnally and Lelouch from the sibling dynamic to the wheelchair thing. I think her power is truly terrifying since she can never actually die. Sure C.C. is immortal, but she gets to move on if she wants to - she on the other side is doomed to reset back in time eternally, reseting any progress in relationships or goals (except if she can die without activating her geass), not that it matters now.

The animation and art is very clean though, it looks crisp! BUT what’s with the weird glittery imagery in the World of C (that one kind of traditional/sketchy looking animation segment was MWAHHH though) and whAT’S WITH THE COLOR DOGE ON WHITE BG, CAMERA-TURNING SPASM DURING SUZAKU’S FIGHTING WITH LELOUCH. I WAS LAUGHING???

Me commenting on the ending was basically: CC leaves alone: Me, on a call with a friend: I don’t like this Faint Lelouch calling for her: I LIKE THIS CC: Did I forget something? Me: “ME” Lelouch says he’ll come with her Me: basically keysmashing in vocal form, being ecstatic that I called it Them talking about how he can’t go around being Lelouch Me: “L.L.” time Lelouch: LL Me: ok this is weird but I love it

I was gushing very hard inside, but it felt peak fanfic haha. I DON’T MIND. Because that was ecstatic and I’m very glad that they can go on their Inuyasha-esque “Geass Shard” Hunt now. I feel fluffy. All I needed from this movie was the beginning and ending bc I’m trash haha.

I give it a good fanfic but it’s an official release/10

Part 1

"Where in the world is this place?" In this world that is neither a dream nor reality, Suzaku wanders. (First, I have to gather information...) Now, as he looked around the vicinity to evaluate the circumstances, he decided to enter the big shrine for the time being and began walking there. An unknown land. Suddenly, a monster called a Nightmare appeared. And then— (I feel like I saw Euphie...) Suzaku grasped his pocket watch, thinking of his lady that should be dead. There, in the middle of the road, stood a woman with hair the color of a dull rose.

"Don't go any further. You said you needed to find it, right? Find it quick. The meaning of holding a sword." "What are you..." "How many times do I have to repeat myself? God you're a pain." Saying that, she turned on her heel and disappeared back into the forest. "Wait. You— !" Suzaku made to run after her, but a Nightmare blocked his path.

A little lost after fighting the Nightmare, Suzaku came across a decaying hut. (There couldn't possibly be anyone living in such a dangerous place...) However, contrary to his expectations, he could see the form of an old woman inside. Suzaku was impatient, and unconsciously called out to the old woman. "It's dangerous here! There's monsters wandering around the area, you should flee immediately—" "I'm sorry. I understand what you're saying, but this is a very important place to me..." "But—" "You look tired. If you can stay for a bit, I can make you some tea." The old woman gently invited Suzaku in.

- Part 2

The next morning, he was worried about the old woman, but when he awoke, she wasn't there. Panicking, he rushed outside, but the old woman was right there, laying flowers on a grave right next to the house. "Ah, you're awake now?" "Good morning. Um, that's..." "Yes... it's my husband's grave." (Ah, I see. So that's why this person—) Learning the reason why the old woman wouldn't leave this place, Suzaku felt an indescribable feeling. However— "There's no time to waste on sentimentality." Suzaku cut down the attacking Nightmare in one blow.

"Thank you for protecting me. You're strong, aren't you." "No, I'm not..." "You know, your power isn't for saving this old granny. I wonder if you could use it to save many more people." "... If I did that, I would surely regret letting you die. I don't want to make the wrong choice again." As he said that, the old woman reached over and patted his head, like one would do to a child. "You're kind, aren't you."

"I'm kind...?" "That's right. Kind people hesitate in their choices. And they have a lot of worries. Is it okay if I talk for a bit? Right now, what is the biggest thing that's troubling you right now?" Lulled by the old woman's voice, Suzaku said what was bothering him without hesitation. "The person who killed.... someone precious to me..... might be my best friend..." (Isn't that right? Lelouch...) Nothing answered his heart's objection to those words.

- Part 3

"Shall I tell you a little about my husband?" The old woman began to speak tenderly to Suzaku after he voiced his worries. When she was young, her husband would ask her what she wanted for her birthday every year. She wanted flowers, but she was stubborn and thought they wouldn't suit her so she couldn't say what she truly wanted. And so when her close friend gave her flowers for her birthday, she said she was going for a walk because she deplored the smell of flowers. But her husband always gave her something that wasn't flowers.

"But I've been giving you flowers every year since a certain year. Do you know why?" "No..." "Easy. You said you wanted flowers." She said bashfully. "It's no good if you don't say anything. That's why you have to talk to your best friend." "But where are you going now..." "I'm going to the capital. There's lots of people there." "The capital..." "Have you seen the grand shrine? It's there." "I understand. Thank you very much. But before that, I have to do as much as I can." Saying that, Suzaku took up his sword.

"Before she goes to the capital— let's eliminate the monsters in this area. So that the old lady will be safe..."

When Suzaku finished off the Nightmares around the hut, he made a bouquet. (If it's just this, I wonder if there's time to go into the woods to pick flowers.) If he went to the capital, he could get information and come back here quickly. If there was a connection between them— was what Suzaku thought before he opened the hut's door. What was reflected in his eyes was... The old woman dyed with blood, and the form of a bandit splattered with her scarlet blood.

- Part 4

When the bandit who killed the old woman saw Suzaku, he nervously began spouting excuses. "I didn't mean to kill her! She could've handed her valuables over quietly, but this hag resisted! I was desperate! If you're just doing your best to survive until tomorrow, you have to steal from others!" "That's why you say it's okay to kill people?!" "S-Shut up! It's no use! I'm trying to protect myself! That's right, if it's to protect my family, I will—" A black mist began to gather around the robber as he assumed a fighting stance.

" K i l l . . .  T o  p r o t e c t  m y s e l f ,  I ' l l  k i l l  y o u ! "

"You are already... no longer human."

When he cut down the bandit and approached the old woman, she was still breathing, just barely. "Granny?!" — But her wheezing breaths showed that she wouldn't live for much longer. "It... hurts..." "Granny, hang in there!" ".... ll me. In a moment. To where that person is..." "...!" As the old woman wished, Suzaku's sword took her life with a single thrust.

Suzaku stared at the old woman's blood staining his hands. "Aa..." The lukewarm feel and musty odor jolted his memories. It was the same as that time he killed his father to stop the war— "Aa... aaaaaaaaaaaa!" Having an intense headache, Suzaku collapsed on the spot.

- Part 5

When Suzaku opened his eyes, there was a small child sitting in front of the bandit's corpse. "Dad... Dad..." "... Are you that person's child?" "Why did you kill my dad?" "That's because your father..." "Even though all my dad did was protect me! Is that wrong?! So you killed him?!" "Don't... don't ask me!" "Don't run away! Look at your sins!" The girl turned to Suzaku, showing him her father's bright red blood soaking her hands. "For what do you kill?!" "I... I...!"

"You killed him. Dad, come back!"

"I'm sorry... I..."

"BRING HIM BACK!”

"Where on earth did I make a mistake..."

Making a grave for the old woman, the bandit, and his daughter, Suzaku held a funeral for them. "You still don't understand?" When he looked up at the voice, he saw the dull rose-haired fortuneteller standing there. "... It's fine, whether it's reality or a dream. Will you condemn me? Before I make another mistake." "I hate it. Why do I have to wipe your ass? Do it yourself. You'll lose yourself if you don't take responsibility for the lives you've taken."

"And you're not ready to accept the hatred of those left behind." "Responsibility... and hatred..." "If you're not ready to bear all of the responsibility, then you shouldn't have a sword. Just be a bystander that shuts himself away in a corner of the world for the rest of his life." The fortuneteller called irritably over her shoulder as she left Suzaku.

- Part 6

Since then, Suzaku has shut himself away in the hut. Was it right or wrong? He kept thinking and thinking about it until he fell unconscious, then woke up thinking about it again. And he kept seeing endless nightmares. (How do... I...) There was no answer to that question. The answer he came to was—

"I won't forgive you."

"Yes, I won't forgive you."

"To just die like that—"

"We definitely—"

"—won't forgive you."

Suzaku woke to his own shouting. "I... I...!" A black mist gathered around Suzaku as he crouched, holding his face in his hands. The mist gathered, and gradually solidified into the shape of a person. "... Suzaku." "Euphie...?" "It's painful, isn't it? But it's okay. Do you want to start over together? Over and over again, for eternity..." "... Ah, that's right..." The black mist slowly engulfed Suzaku...

"It's no use. It seems that we're too late." Alice said calmly, running up to the hut and seeing Suzaku turn into a Nightmare. "Your best friend was swallowed up again." "I see...." Behind Alice, a slim boy with black hair and violet eyes came running. "I'm sorry, Suzaku. Next time, I will definitely save you. And—" The slim boy's face twisted as he looked up at the sky. "... I'm sorry, Nunnally. Again, I..." The sky he looked up at was dyed bright red.

My thoughts on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection

So I finally saw the Code Geass movie last night and OH MAN DO I HAVE A LOT OF THOUGHTS.

First of all I think I should start this out by saying this series came into my life at a very weird time I’d say. I first watched the show when I was in 7th grade (13 years old) and I don’t know why but it stuck with me. As soon as the last episode finished I immediately hit start on episode 1 (ah the good old days when Bandai had all the episodes on Youtube) to see what I was missing my first viewing. Since then I have easily watched the series over 10 times over both in English and Japanese. The show (and the fanfiction let’s be real here) got me through a lot of tough times. In my freshmen year of high school, I really took a turn for the worst and seriously thought I would die before I turned 15. That was when I met @projectcluclu and she (along with the show) became a really key part of my life. Her fics really made me fall in love with the pairing Lelouch and CC even more than I already had been with before. The pairing itself became a real comfort for me and just. TLDR: Code Geass is really important to me.

Writing now as a junior in college (20 years old), I could still say this series has my heart. Have I grown older now and seen many other things (mostly not anime related things)? Yes. Do I notice the endless plotholes in the story and how certain characters I once hated are actually okay and the characters I thought were flawless could actually be rather despicable? Yes again. But this story as a whole still makes my heart go BOOM. 

NOW TO THE MOVIE!

So when I first heard they were making a movie I rolled my eyes. I get it was an anniversary and the show had had many other specials before such as Lelouch’s Birthday, Nunnally in Wonderland, etc. However, this one was going to make or break this show. The creators seemed to know this and pulled something I laugh so hard at but at the same time THEY KNOW THEY GET TO MAKE THE CAKE AND EAT IT TOO. After realizing that “oh shit. We really did have the perfect ending. Legit half the viewers are going to be upset no matter what we do” they decided. “YOU ALL CAN THINK WHATEVER YOU WANT. This is an alternate reality.” Now, to me this was a cop out for sure. They knew no matter what they did, someone would be upset. Even I joked around with my sister and said if Lelouch got with anyone else but CC in the movie I would burn all my Code Geass merch. Still, the war still goes on from the original show whether he is dead or not. The creators wanted the ending to be ambiguous, but couldn’t even handle the inner-fandom war when the ending first happened over 10 years ago that they were like HE IS DEAD STOP FIGHTING. 

All that being said, I obviously knew I had to see this movie. I’ll admit the spoilers that it was a CluClu ending did give me a slight push to hit buy tickets on my online order, but I knew it was important to my sister and I. We drove an hour away to go see it and the theater was actually pretty damn packed. We anticipated being 2 of like 7 people there but it was FILLED. It was pretty cool to here people talking about the timeline under their breath and getting excited about the movie. So the movie. My God I laughed so hard. Like tears were streaming from my face. First, I saw it in English. I love my Johnny Young Lelouch so much and Kate Higgins as CC is great. Everyone else had the same voices as well but. It literally appeared everyone but CC forgot how to say Suzaku’s name and called him “Sooz-a-koo.” Legit sounded like fucking Shinjuki. The first time LELOUCH said it I was like who he is talking ab- OMFG ARE YOU KIDDING ME. My sister and I were in tears and I was shaking so bad. The new characters got me confused. Where the fuck was this big ass nation in the show? (Obviously non-existent as this is an alternate universe”) But I was like what is geass did anyone at the studio actually figure it out? In the show they got nowhere close to explaining it, but we got a very good understanding on what it does, it’s limitations, who had it and why, etc. This movie was like oh you have geass?! CHECK MINE OUT! The princess (at least I think she was a princess) was weird? That scene with her and her brother in the bath after she saw her prophecy was fucked. I laughed so hard again as everyone around me was saying WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT? With these new characters, why is Cornelia now the head of them? 

My brain did not take it seriously and just laughed at how crack-fic this movie was. They showed almost every character and it was beautiful and almost bought me to actually cry no matter how weirdly they were placed and who they were placed with. Like why was Schneizel with Rakshata?? In a daycare place?? Why?? Ohgi and Viletta’s wedding though. My heart exploded Lloyd and Rakshata dancing? I approve. THE BABY? I approve. 

The main characters. I know it has been ten years and it could be seen, and there were definitely moments where they were, out of character. One thing I saw a lot of before I saw it was that CC was out of character because she cared so much for Lelouch but to me? I think she was pretty in character. It had been a long time for her and Lelouch. As soon as Lelouch died, Shirley bought his body to CC and she had to take care of him as they looked for his lost consciousness. I imagine she was a bitch in the beginning to him but quickly realized she did this. 

She did this.

She is the reason Lelouch is alive at all.

This is why I believe she was in character. It shows how she is not a stagnant character from the beginning of the story. When first knowing about her in episode five of the series, it was clear she was a stone cold bitch who made her own rules for her life (which makes her CC my favorite character so I’m not saying this as a bad thing). As the show moved forward, we saw her at her most vulnerable and how as a child she was desperate for someone to love her. After her own geass story and her immortality, she saw quickly it must have not been in the cards for her and how she was “utterly alone.” Even as she and Lelouch started to become closer to each other, she was rather distant. I don’t think she really let it show how important he had become to her until her backstory episode 15 of R2 when she would not let him take her immortality. Even when she was dying, mind you the only reason she went after Lelouch in the first place, she was crying at the thought of leaving. In the penultimate episode of the series, she and Lelouch had a very touching scene that Kallen had to ruin, but she voiced her care for him. Therefore, in the movie when it shows her caring so much for him, I do not find it out of character for her. It was already shown in the show and sound episodes that she was not sure what she thought her feelings for Lelouch were and she was confused and frightened by them. She was afraid she ruined his life by giving him the power in the first place, and she was selfish enough to do it again by reviving him knowing full well he intended to die for all the things he did in the rebellion. 

I teared up at the trailer watching CC cry trying to find Lelouch in C’s world. You could tell that man is her new “meaning for living” so to say and she realized how close she was to losing him again. I teared up when they were in the knightmare and Lelouch was about to issue a surrender. She pulled her gun on him similar to episode 7 of the show and told him this was not the Lelouch she knew and bought back. That moment of shaky tears and words made Lelouch into his self again. They are the missing pieces the other has always lacked. They are better off together and they know it. Another reason why the scene at the end hit so strong when he told her he would follow LL and abandon the name Lelouch. He was stating how he was ready to let go of his past and begin a new life with her. Her face welling up and crying. Those scenes of them together were my favorite parts of the movie for the obvious ship reason but also for the fact that I felt more connections to the original story and the characters seemed to be staying true to their old selves. 

Lelouch. He was pretty much in character. I do believe leaving Nunnally to make her own choices and let her grow up is something he would do. After all the lessons CC told him about keeping people you love at a distance. He was a little more flirty than usual but again? The scenes that mattered the most, he was Lelouch. 

Suzaku. Excuse me Soozakoo was a pretty much his character from R2. Kind of a douchebag with a heart of gold. His scenes with Lelouch were very very in character and really touching.

Kallen was a little out of character. The one scene that touched my heart is when she cried (which by the way was fucking hilarious because the English cry was so bad) when Lelouch kept staring at her with his dead eyes. That was a really beautiful scene and I could admit that even though I despise the two of them together.

Everyone else was pretty much thrown in with no explanation. Ohgi apologizing to Lelouch made 0, no pun intended, sense. Cornelia leading this new nation? This new nation of a whole? How did Lelouch know where everything was and how to work this foreign computer network and equipment? Why was mostly everyone else not phased by the fact that Lelouch was alive? So many things were not explained in this movie.

THE ANIMATION. The characters were beautiful as ever but damn. Sometimes they left blobs and mouths moving and it was so funny. The close up shot of the camels had me laughing in my seat.

THE ENDING. And I mean the post-credit ending. I feel like the creators found this famous fanart of Lelouch and CC:

And were like LET’S GO WITH THAT! They were pretty much dressed like this and looked like they were having a wedding type thing? But they gave a weird vampire feel which was hm. Okay? 

Overall, this movie was what it was. An anniversary movie to give the fans and give some more spotlight on Lelouch and CC’s relationship. In the moments it had its key characters, it was beautiful. Hell, it was all beautiful. However, it really did feel I was watching a crack-fic fanfiction in HD. That being said, I would not change anything about this movie. My heart is so full and I was smiling the entire time. So glad I got to go see it!

Civilian A: He has a severe cold...! Please let him rest...

Soldier: He’s sick...? Okay. We have no use of people who can’t work.

Benio: ...!!

Zero: What you’ve seen just now is a footage we obtained from Diethard’s colleague. This place escapes from the sight of the upper management due to it being located in a difficult place topographically. Taking advantage of that situation, Coloner Ren rules the place in tyranny, and covets for wealth. 

Zero: So we’ll go over there to set the villagers free.

BK 1: That... in other words...

BK 2: We’re going to go up against Chinese Federation...?

Kallen: ....

Savitri: Zero. We’re under the protection of Chinese Federation.

Savitri: In this situation, why are you taking action that can be seen as hostility towards Chinese Federation? I can’t understand this at all.

Savitri: I’m not here because I swore allegiance to Zero. The things that need to be asked, have to be asked.

Zero: No, you’re mistaken, Savitri. We are not under the protection of Chinese Federation. We and Chinese Federation are in equal relationship. And above all, we are... the protector of the weak! If there’s injustice being carried out in this country, it’s our duty to correct it!

Savitri: Sorry for my interruption. 

Zero: No problem. It’s a natural question. However, I want you to believe me and follow me.

Benio: ...before I realized it, everyone’s mood has completely improved? 

Savitri: So this is Zero.

Kallen: Benio, come with me for a sec?

Benio: Me piloting that... Burai?

Kallen: It may look like just another Burai with different color, but this is the KMF that I piloted in my first actual battle.

Benio: !!

Kallen: I got on to this machine, and met Zero.

Benio: Is it really okay...? For me to pilot such important unit...

Kallen: I want you to pilot it. I feel like if it’s you, Benio, I can entrust it to you.

Benio: ...This is an honor! I’ll take a great care of it!

Colonel Ren: Being a soldier sure can make money.

Subordinate: Colonel, we got a problem!

Colonel Ren: What is it, in the dead of night like this

Subordinate: We’re being raided! A number of unknown KMFs are heading towards here!

Colonel Ren: Don’t panic. To get to my camp that is surrounded by mountains, one has to pass through the village in the front first. First turn the village into a living shield and buy some time. Now tell me the enemy’s current position.

Subordinate: That’s, they’ve already broken into our camp...! Aaagh!!

Colonel Ren: Impossible!!! They climbed the cliff with KMF?! Fire! Fire back!

Kallen: I’ll destroy you!

Villager A: We can’t wait for any longer than this! We will all end up dead by then! Even if it just us, we should revolt!

Villager B: No.

Villager B: Wait for the order from Xingke-sama and the others. Endure it. If we revolt with no backup, we will be crushed. We should bet our chances on Xingke-sama’s coup d’etat! 

*bang bang bang*

Villager B: What’s the ruckus!?

Villager C: There’s a problem! A red KMF suddenly appears and engages in a fight against the army!

Villager A: What red KMF...?!

Kallen: From one to the next, there’s no end of it!

Savitri: Kallen-san! Developing an encircling net is the expertise of the enemy force!  If this continues, we will be bombarded from all directions for sure! Even though our KMF is superior to Gang Lou, but because of their battery power they can be quite a threat!

Kallen: Eeh!? I’m going to have to strike down every one of them!?

Savitri: They seem to be made as the sacrificial pawns. It’s a reasonable tactic to use when you have advantage in numbers.

Kallen: Well, I know that, still... 

Savitri: Conceivably, if it’s Kashoushiki alone, it’s possible to get out of the encircling net... However it would be meaningless to propose this plan to Kallen-san who leads the unit.

Kallen: I hate those who discard their friends as weapons!

also for some reason i don’t understand, maybe this is something to do with recording, but funimation’s dubs are

noticeably quieter a lot of the time. not all the time but like, and i’m not talking about the delivery of the voice actors

but

its like the volume is lower. like... if you’re watching it in Japanese at first then you switch to English, it is noticeably quieter and you have to raise your volume up. like on Sunshine, this is much quieter in English than Japanese. if your tv has a volume of 1-100, sometimes you need to raise the volume by like, 25 or something to get the volume you had five seconds ago

i only notice this is severe in funimation dubs. like hellsing ultimate: i used to wonder why on toonami (on live fucking tv) and even online it seemed.... quieter. like i always had to turn up the volume. then i got it physically for christmas and i realized “holy shit, the dub is just really fucking quiet”

this is a severe issue for love live sunshine’s physical release too... and i notice this mostly happens with funimation. like og love live was done by different people.

i just took out lls s2 to put in og ll s1 just to quickly swap between Japanese and English audio, and the difference is negligible: maybe the dub was like... 5% quieter but that was it. i would NOT have noticed if i was not actively listening for it. with Sunshine and Hellsing Ultimate at least (maaaaybe Code Geass i won’t be able to test that for a few days) there is a NOTICEABLE drop in volume

i don’t know jack shit about volumes so maybe someone can explain this to me: on the pop up the audio options are “Dolby TrueHD: English 5.1″ and “Dolby TrueHD: Japanese 2.0″ 

i’m genuinely curious why the volume is naturally higher when they both seem to be using the same thing??? and why is this only a problem with Funimation, like Toei doesn’t have this problem asdf;jalksdfj;alskdfj this has been bugging me for a long time
