The point of the codex
This is a fan made version of an Assassin's Codex if it were a tumblr fan community. You can submit things to the codex for inclusion that you think should be in an Assassin Codex. You can put logo art, you can put articles on actual survival training, you can make doodles, or musings, you can creatively give ideas of new pieces of Eden or relics and what they should be used for.
I came up with this idea because a friend asked me to create an Assassin codex, because I watch and play so much AC, they believe I am a Mentor of the Creed.
It is just fan made, fan based, and will never be complete and I welcome anyone who wants to post to the Codex.
Some of it will be NPC sourced writings, some is presented as if writing to Assassins or templars of the future. It is mostly a work of fiction, and it should NOT anger anybody, if you see any DALLe3 content you can use it or tinker with it, but don't claim it as yours.
If something is here and you want it removed, please ask politely.
If you don't like imagination, please f__k off and get off this blog community.
If you see something you like, I don't need credits, freely take an idea or 12.
If you believe women shouldn't have imagination, and that we should all be dominated by men well you have small penis brain, and I don't have time for your shyt.

My assassins creed shrine has grown again. Orlog actually belongs to my dad but he let me borrow it and hasn't asked for it yet. The little figures on the orlog box and Agliar are this year's birthday gifts.

I'm gonna be real, so little of previous games have actually mattered in any way beyond flavor text that I literally could not give less of a shit about this whole debacle. Like it's such a non-issue to me. Idk what games y'all have been playing for 15 years but truly this is the norm. Barely anything carried over from Origins to Hawke and all pretty minor shit, and I genuinely cannot think of anything beyond flavor text carrying over to Inquisition. Oh you could customize Hawke and they can answer a few vague questions with vague bullshit? Cool, presumably that's what the Inquisitor will give us. Like idk guys but I think maybe building up your expectations for a decade has had a detrimental effect on what should be reasonable expectations for a video game that's truly been in development hell for like eight years and wants to be functionably playable to brand new players without alienating them.
#like i played inquisition first and THEN played the first two and i didn't really lose anything doing it like that#it functioned as a fun game in a bubble that parcelled background info in small digestible codex snippets#then after playing the other games there was more IMPACT in new playthrough but no major revelations#honestly i think i probably had MORE fun playing Inquisition first that i would have if i'd played origins and hawke beforehand#presumably that's what they're aiming for with veilguard and honestly i'm super chill with that#i hope they once again succeeded in making both a good bubble video game AND reasonable sequel#like they set it a decade later for a reason guys: i'm pretty sure most major inquisition decisions will be old news by then#'oh a shitty mage/assassin/cop is the divine? she has been for like twelve years get over it grandpa'#'oh the circles are restored/abolished? yeah we know little timmy the mage was born AFTER the mage revolt of :41 and is doing fine'#'hey what happened with all those wardens fucking about in orlais during the breach crisis? literally who gives a fuck that was AGES ago'#look. i just cannot comprehend getting genuinely bent out of shape about this. like are you also still made about origins' epilogue slides?#dragon age: the veilguard#by apples

Assassins Creed could pretty easily be turned into an isekai. No animus involved, just Desmond getting hit by a truck and then mysteriously waking up as Ezio! Or even more hilarious, going the "reincarnated as a book character" route for isekai launch points, Ezio gets run over by a cart and wakes up as Altair, whose journal he'd been reading the night before.
Regardless of who transmigrated, Desmond as Ezio or Ezio as Altaïr, the name of this fic will have to be “I have been transmigrated as the legendary Assassin!” (the exclamation point is necessary, the shortening would either be ITLA or LegAss)
The main two ways to get transmigrated is either through Truck-kun (or Car-kun is Truck-kun is stuck in traffic) or by dying while doing something mundane from overwork or illness.
We’ll go for Truck-kun for Desmond and he’ll wake up as Ezio Auditore, the legendary Assassin from Renaissance Italy.
Of course, since we did specify No Animus involved, we’re going for an alternative world where Desmond never got kidnapped and kept living his peaceful life in New York with the added consolation of the Solar Flare being dealt by something or someone else (perhaps Abstergo with their The Eye project? Or Bill gets to be sacrificed instead? XD)
Anyway, Abstergo still released the Animus as a gaming console and one of their games is about Ezio (primarily from Clay’s sessions, heavily edited) and Desmond is hooked.
He admits, there’s a part of him that was jealous of Ezio. Sure, his story was a tragedy that turned him to a monster (or so Abstergo painted him) but Desmond sorta gets it.
Sorta.
Or maybe he was projecting.
It’s just…
Desmond wanted to know more about Ezio. The game ended after Rodrigo Borgia managed to get Ezio not kill him, to show him how he had become a monster and to return to the light.
It felt like a weak ending in Desmond’s eyes and he’d been contemplating if it was worth the risk joining an online forum to talk about the ending and how a lot of Ezio’s actions doesn’t seemed to make any sense sometimes in the cutscenes.
He just got a ping in his phone while waiting for the pedestrian light to go green and blinked when he read that there were rumors of Abstergo planning to make a sequel to Ezio’s game.
Huh.
They didn’t even care about the cliffhanger of Altaïr’s game.
Then again, Ezio’s game was the most successful game Abstergo Entertainment released for the Animus.
The pedestrian light turned green.
Desmond took a step as he read the article.
Then…
Light.
He turned just in time to see the truck-
Before-
Blood.
He tasted blood.
His lips hurt.
What?
“Uccidetelo!”
Desmond blinked.
He recognized Vieri Pazzi immediately. He had seen his ugly mug in VR for so long because he kept replaying Ezio’s game when he was bored after all.
Desmond blocked the attack of the men charging him, his body seemingly remembering the years of training on the Farm…
No.
His movements…
Was he remembering how to move like Ezio in VR?
That didn’t make sense.
None of this makes sense.
“Ehi!” The man about to punch Desmond from behind dropped to the floor as a familiar man grinned at him, “Behind you!”
“Federico?” Desmond choked, recognizing the older Auditore.
“What’s wrong, Ezio? Too surprised to see your older brother saving you once again?”
Ezio.
He just called Desmond Ezio.
Oh god.
He was Ezio.
He just replaced the Monster of Florence, the White Death himself…
Ezio Auditore.
(Ezio, on the other hand, gets transmigrated when he lost his consciousness while reading Altaïr’s journal for the last time before going to the ship that will sail him as close to Masyaf as it could. He gets transmigrated just as Al Mualim stabs Altaïr on the stomach for failing to recover the Apple)
#let’s be honest#altaïr didn’t leave enough info about how his life went in his codex#so ezio would be flying blind#desmond on the other hand#is under the wrong impression of ezio being a cold blooded murderer#so yeah#desmond is gonna try and fix things#while ezio is gonna wreck shit by accident XD#if it's not clear yet#i love transmigration stories hahahaha#assassin's creed#desmond miles#ezio auditore#fic idea: assassin's creed#teecup writes/has a plot#ask and answer

oooh sending you a bunch.. 1 for pia, 15 for arya, 5 for levi, 4 for veria :)
thank u jay <33333. i'll add pia's for now and update with the rest tomorrow :3
A conversation overheard in the chambers of the previous Talon of House de Riva, during a discussion of the advancement of several fledgling Crows to full assassin status.
“She’s grown quite competent at covert operations.” “That is more of a requirement of the position than it is a bonus, yes?” “True, but she’s still a fledgling. And she’s largely self taught—House de Riva has not had the fortune of training many mages in recent years. House Valisti maintains their claim to most of the Crows’ mages.” “They’ve been deliberate in putting roots in Antiva City. Proximity to the Circle of Magi has its advantages.” “According to her handler, they picked her up in the alienage in Rialto long before any of her abilities manifested. No indication of magic in her family history. We simply got lucky.” “Lucky indeed. Tell me, what magical skills has she demonstrated?” “Several of note. She’s learned to imbue the elements into her blades, of course, but we’ve encouraged her to extend her magic beyond her person to create distractions. She is able to cloak herself in the Fade in order to dip into the shadows. As a test of her control, we had her manifest a freak storm over the Grande Markets while another Crow completed a contract on a broker. The rest of the merchants were too busy protecting their own wares to notice the man had disappeared.” “Interesting. But I have no use for a Crow who cannot fulfill a contract on their own, no matter how much of a tempest they can create.” “That won’t be a concern, Señor. We’ve made all efforts to ensure her focus is unyielding.” “Have you now?” “Of course. Do you think we would allow a mage to progress this far in training if we were not certain she could handle the work while under duress? It would sully our good name to botch a contract because an abomination lost control.” “Good. I’ve worked too hard to keep this house’s good standing for a failure to set us back now.” “If you still doubt, let me bring her to you. For a demonstration. Her resolve is no fluke.” “I should hope she has the scars to prove it.”
#ari writes#codex prompts#da veilguard#pia de riva#i imagine that while viago's been fifth talon for a while that bc him and pia are pretty close in age#that it isn't until pia is a full fledged assassin that viago gets control of house de riva#again. messing with some of the game stuff a teeny. so i imagine that pia's been a full assassin since she was ~18#but never one of significant rank or renown.

i understand that the modern day segments are the thing that binds the assassin’s creed games together and that they’re essential to the story. but consider. they suck dick and balls.
#the most interesting it gets is with shbject 16’s conspiracy board and like that *is* interesting. but it’s also like. not ever commented on#in ac2 actively. and a lot of the actual conspiracy bits seem kind of like throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks?#this is not unsalvageable okay but the fact that it’s 1) by necessity the periphery of the actual interesting game we want to play and 2)#full of the blandest fucking guys imaginable not doing anything ever is like. why are we doing this.#the *concept*. of a centuries old conspiracy battle between the assassins and templars? fascinating! endless potential for how that’s gone!#the execution? a bit shite ain’t it.#the game’s strongest connective tissue is in the codexes and the tombs. like *that’s* interesting!#the way that we’re already in a historical setting but ezio himself is uncovering what’s history to him! these figures who are basically#myths! but they were real! and then that leaves a room to go well. if they were real. like ezio is.#then when ezio dies and becomes history he will be a myth too. but we *know* him!! we could know them!! it’s in knowing him that the tragedy#of history is cemented. that he is already a myth even as we play through his story.#but like these are not themes i think the game has picked up on existing or gives a shit about so. fuck it i guess.#this story happened a long time ago in a country far far away. you can’t save ezio’s family. because he never did.#but you can avenge them. only. you know his quest for vengeance for justice. however it might have tipped the scales to a better world for#a time? it didn’t change things forever. the war outlived him. it outlived his ancestors.#you know?

Playing AC 2 and reading through the codex - on page 6
Though I ask my brothers now to abandon their rituals, I do not ask that they abandon the creed. THIS is what makes us assassins. Not the removal of a finger. Not a false promise of paradise. Not the prohibition of poison. Our duty is to the people, not to custom. If we must sneak, we shall sneak. If we must use poison, we shall use poison. If our blades can be used without removing fingers, we shall not demand they be taken. And we shall not manipulate our initiates with lies and parlor tricks. We shall speak plainly and honestly. We shall be made anew...

Having played Assassins Creed 1, 2, part of Brotherhood, and part of Syndicate, I feel like ac1 gives a very different impression of what the Assassin's Order is going to be than the rest of them. Probably because it was (very loosely) based on a historical group.
#not doctor who#rose rambles#knife boys#AC2 codex pages establish that Altaïr was the one who decentralized the Assassins#but it was very funny going from 'there is an entire village of assassins who live and die for the order#and are well organized and group-minded'#to 'well. there are 5 guys in italy.'#and from what I've seen in Syndicate they assign one guy to watch over large areas#which is vastly more sustainable in a modern-ish age. absolutely. still a funny contrast.#Altaïr fucks up one mission and almost gets killed in front of everyone for the shame of it. Jacob and Evie... run off to another city#to vigilante a Piece of Eden from the Templars#against specific orders#and so far have received -1 consequences. despite having much stronger communication tech available now than carrier pigeons.

July Tumblr Codex AU
Day Nine Honour
The family of Desmond and Jamie would say that it is a shame they have anything but the most honorable individuals in their bloodlines. For Desmond it would be Maria Therope and Haytham Kenway being Templars that brought ire to his father. Though Maria is less so as she did not get upset that her sons became assassins like their father.
Jamie's family would be angry that she embraced her shadow war ancestors. Robert De Sable, Malik Al-Sayf and Shay Patrick Cormac. She is a royal, and the three are peasants.
Summer Moorson was the only one whose family would be proud of the honor of being related to Leonardo Da Vinci. They wouldn't know who Kadar is but still be happy because he is a good kid.

"Assassin's Creed Valhalla" Story Continues in New Graphic Novel
Dark Horse has announced a new hardcover graphic novel set in the world of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Hidden Codex hails from writer Mathieu Gabella and artist Paolo Traisci.
"After securing his own freedom from a clan of Vikings that kidnapped him, Edward, a scribe and reluctant monk, returns to find his brother missing and strange documents blackened by a language he innately understands. No one knows where these occult-looking symbols came from, but Edward has seen such writings before: in the workshop of an enigmatic wise man among the Vikings who is part of a secret order: Those Unseen. An order that could offer answers to Edward, and guarantee his aspirations of freedom and knowledge. But with that knowledge can he find and rescue his own brother before it's too late?" (Dark Horse)
Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Hidden Codex goes on sale in bookstores on April 30, 2024, and in comic book stores on May 1, 2024.

it’s funny to me because like. look, gaming shit, i’m fairly well-versed in, so even before starting ac2, i knew ezio was the assassin’s creed protagonist that a lot of. to be blunt, gamergate-ass chuds like to point to as The Best One™️, on account of him being male and white and het. so it’s just very funny to me that ezio says gay rights. not that it would matter to those kinds of assholes, they’d probably say this game from 2010 has a woke mind virus forcing ezio to love gay people. but. they very much cannot change the canonical fact that ezio’s best friend is gay and he says out loud that he thinks leonardo’s boyfriend is good for him.
#also clarifications on two points: 1) i’m saying ezio is white because in the small mind of gamergate chuds ezio is white. but like. ezio#is italian. in 16th century italy. and i’m not like an anthropologist or anything but i do know that attempts to transpose modern day#american ideas of race onto 16th century italy don’t really make any goddamn sense.#you understand this. i understand this. they don’t because they’re frankly fucking idiots. but moving on.#2) ezio is very much a Video Game Protagonist Guy. not denying that. and ac2’s pivot away from debating the tenets of the assassin’s up#front and mostly leaving it to codex entries and missable stuff IS a part of that. but like. ezio is also Not the guy those fucks think he#is. ezio DOES carry a lot of the hangups of being Video Game Protagonist Guy in the late 2000s. but he evolves. he grows.#and he’s very much still an assassin and the order is about as egalitarian as it gets. ezio says gay rights but also women’s rights!#okay done now.
