Instead, his General was supine on the medbay cot like he’d forgotten he had bones. The flop of his fringe glowed warmly under the harsh white lighting, his cheeks were flushed warm but not quite feverish. Cody made some kind of noise. A question that never made past teeth and tongue.

Kenobi lolled his head on the pillow towards him. He smiled, a slow, pleased, drawing up of his lips that made Cody far, far too aware of how soft they looked, and then he blinked his eyes languorously open. His eyelashes fluttered copper.

Cody felt his pulse trip at his General’s moon-sized pupils fixing on him. The smile, the flush, the focus – it was a little too like some thoughts he would never admit to. A glimpse into something forbidden.

Only it wasn’t. General Kenobi was unwell. Intoxicated on an unknown and possibly dangerous substance. Drugged.

The shame almost drowned the relief.

“Co-o-o-dy,” Kenobi said, his crisp accent swamped by a sigh, or a yawn, or- It didn’t matter. “Co-dy, you came?”

He sounded drunk, if Cody hadn’t seen Kenobi drunk, and was well aware how it didn’t do this to him. “Of course, sir. How – how are you feeling?”

Kenobi waved a hand and Cody obediently stepped next to the bed while he searched for the words he usually kept so readily at hand. “The cot is sad.” he said, eventually. “Like...another village.”

Cody blinked down at him. Kenobi blinked right back, eyes absolutely enormous with the blue so swallowed in the black. “...Right. Can we cheer the cot up?”

Story Idea

Okay so, this one I've put a lot of thought into so I'm gonna put a lot under the read-more in case anyone's willing to actually wait for it to be written up.

So, the premise is that the Senju are a clan of monster hunters in the modern day. They deal with ghosts and cryptids and the like but the most dangerous are demons. Tobirama is one of their best field agents. However, after his fiancé was tragically killed by a demon, he blamed himself and began taking missions like he had nothing more to lose.

If you've been paying attention, you can probably guess that that fiance was Izuna.

Actually, before Izuna died, Tobirama had planned to stop taking such long and/or dangerous missions so the two of them could build a life together. He was going to step back into more of a mentor role.

He really only has one goal in his life now. To kill - not banish - the demon that killed his fiancé and finally set his soul to rest.

So, Tobirama hears about some sketchy stuff going on around his would-be brother-in-law and goes on what should be a rather minor mission.

Or it would be, if the culprit weren't a demon wearing the face of his former lover.

Of course, he does not take this well and attacks - only for it to be revealed that the demon is in fact Izuna. Madara somehow managed to summon his now demonic soul.

This version of Izuna does not remember anything about his life. Reminders such as his name, engagement ring, etc cause him physical pain. He wants to hurt but also wants to be near Tobirama instinctively. But he also realizes as a fledgling demon he's wildly outclassed so heès afraid of him too.

Tobirama, logically, should banish Izuna back to the demon realm. At the very least he should bind Izuna under his command so that he has control over him. He does not do that.

Instead he makes a subservient contract like the one Madara has. He also lies to his brother and the Senju about the situation.

EVEN MORE SPOILERY (BE WARNED)

So Izuna's death was a conspiracy of the Senju elders who wanted to keep Tobirama under their thumb. Izuna leaned this before his death so a huge motivation for his demon is an intense hatred towards the Senju. But he has no memory of why.

Tobirama and Madara take it to mean he did blame Tobirama for his death.

Let's be real though. Decker should have been in charge and the only reason Kirk didn't get himself and everyone under his command killed was because of him. If this was TOS days and Kirk had an admiral try to take over his ship, the audience would clearly know this was the antagonist but we let it slide because we are following Kirks story.

I totally disagree, actually (as is probably obvious from my post). I think Decker is completely temperamentally unqualified for the specific crisis at hand in TMP. For a significant portion of the movie, he doesn't seem to even comprehend the stakes of the crisis for the billions of people on Earth who would have died if Kirk took most of his advice. Apart from updating Kirk on the refits, something other people could do and which is at most temporarily useful, Decker's tactics are cautious and short-sighted at a time when they (and especially Earth!) can't afford either. They had to take the kind of risks Decker opposed (and continued to oppose after Spock fixed the technical problems) to have any chance of stopping V'ger. I think Uhura was absolutely correct when she said that Kirk taking over had doubled their chances of success. Kirk is a tactical genius who is willing to question himself but decisive in a crisis, none of which is true of Decker.

Doesn't help that Decker spends 80% of his screentime caring more about his ego than the mission or the most basic kind of professionalism, but his tactics are the real problem. He'd be fine in other missions, but this was not the one for him.

She acts ditzy and dimwitted to keep the others off her scent, but X2 is very suspicious of her. They both have a heavy dislike for each other and have pettiness/passive aggressive battles frequently. Very toxic yuri vibes

Going back to the angel mythic path as a trans metaphor the fact you have to persuade Areelu you're her kid to get her to accept you resonates so much because (at least in my experience) people in your life do treat you like you've become a stranger/died when you come out/transition. You're still you you but because one thing changed people act like you got taken out back and shot. Like my thoughts on this aren't very organized but regarding my own Knight-Commander I think it really plays into her feelings of inadequacy going forward because she wants to be loved by Areelu even though she knows she shouldn't have to fit a certain criteria to receive it. Idk I just really love this utterly broken family dynamic Wrath has going on between it's villain and its protagonist.

Pondering if I should add Jek-14 to the Forceful Intervention Verse.

Mostly because I think it'd be very interesting to have Fox, who's been tortured by a Sith Master, had his neck snapped by said Sith Master's pet project, been forsaken by the GAR for choosing the Guard's well being over Ahsoka's or Fives's (who he never met under better circumstances other than them being fugitives of the law), and is currently going through a purposeful vengeance arc where he searches for and rescues clones that were never taken in by Rex's rebellion (for this or that reason) to take them to Epifania where they can be free, only to come across this very strange anti-social clone with unnatural eyes, a lightsaber strapped to his belt, and a goddamn Force Lightening arm.

Now, Fox is (unsurprisingly and very understandably) suspicious and somewhat fearful of Force Sensitives. Especially ones that can zap him into oblivion. But this is a vod and, even if he doesn't act like it, Fox shouldn't just give up on him and carry on his merry way. So he won't. He's better than that. He has to be better than that if he hopes to save all of the renegades like himself and the Guard Remnant. It's both penance for his prior compliance and a vow to fuck Palpatine's shit up.

Meanwhile Jek-14 trusts literally no one because there's always some ulterior motive for everyone's vested interest in him (considering the circumstances of his creation). This strange clone showing up one day and insisting on dragging him somewhere where he can "live free among other clones", doesn't really strike him as a selfless endeavor. Especially considering Jek-14 doesn't see himself as a vod because he wasn't raised with other clones and has killed many in the past (he regrets it now that he's no longer Dooku's pet project, but there's no going back and he knows clones don't take kindly to outsiders who murder their kin even if they were just following orders/their life's purpose).

I'm not really putting it into words the way I want it because my brain is pretty fried from the current heat wave. But like...
