Israel's Existence is a THREAT to our EARTH & ENVIRONMENT
Tumblr media
The carbon footprint from Israel’s war on Gaza will exceed the emissions of around 100 countries, according to new research.
A study published by the Social Science Research Network, first reported by The Guardian on Friday, found that the climate cost of Israel’s destruction of the Palestinian enclave, clearing debris and rebuilding the territory could exceed 31m tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.
That is more than the annual 2023 emissions of many countries, including Costa Rica, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe.
The study found that Hamas’ rockets and bunker fuel made up for 0.2 percent of those emissions, while the supply and use of weapons, tanks and other ordnance by Israel made up 50 percent.
It found that the overall impact of Israel’s wars on Gaza and Lebanon, as well as its recent military confrontations with Yemen and Iran, was equivalent to running 84 gas power plants for a year.
It is the third such study looking into the climate cost of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza.
“This report is a staggering and sobering reminder of the ecological and environmental cost of Israel’s genocidal campaign on the planet and its besieged people,” Zena Agha, policy analyst for Palestinian policy network Al-Shabaka, told The Guardian.

Environmental engineer Dr. Tamer Al-Najjar reports a growing outbreak of hepatitis in north Gaza. He and his colleagues warned of this months ago, when the occupation fully cut off Gaza from water and directly targeted water and waste management infrastructure. He writes,
In the northern Strip, a condition known as "Jaundice of the Liver" is prevalent, referring to the initial stages of infection with Hepatitis A due to a dangerous mix of pollution, food and sugar scarcity, and poor water quality.

🌿An Earth Day fusion repost from @theimeu and @muchachafanzine.
🌿In honor of Earth Day, please visit @zaytoun_cic, @handmadepalestine, or @plant.eenolijfboom to plant an olive tree in Palestine. 🕊
🌿From @theimeu:
This Earth Day, we mourn the 34,000+ Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza and Israel’s continued degradation of Gaza’s land, water, and other natural resources that make life possible for Palestinians.
In the past 6 months alone, Israel has destroyed farmland and greenhouses, contaminated natural resources with hazardous materials, bombed key water purifying infrastructure and wells, and created conditions for epidemics caused by an extreme excess of sewage, waste, and pollution.
Israel’s systematic destruction of Gaza’s environment is part of its goal of making life for Palestinians in Gaza unlivable.
Link in bio to contact your reps and urge an immediate, permanent ceasefire and the immediate suspension of all arms and funds to Israel.
Sources: The Guardian, Scientific American
🌿From @muchachafanzine:
Reminder this #EarthDay that from Turtle Island to Pa1estine, your environmentalism doesn’t mean sh!t if you don’t support giving the #LandBack to Indigenous people. 🤷🏽‍♀️

On June 6, 2023, russia deliberately destroyed the Kakhovka dam in Ukraine’s Kherson region, causing the largest man-made environmental disaster in Europe since World War II. Floodwaters quickly submerged about 600 square kilometers, flooding nearly 80 towns and cutting water to 1.6 million people.
This attack destroyed ecosystems, poisoned land and water, and released mines into the Black Sea. It caused the loss of 14 billion cubic meters of freshwater – enough to supply millions for over a year.
Dam destruction is a war crime, and this act shows russia’s brutal tactics in its war against Ukraine. The consequences affect the whole region and will take years to repair. This was russia’s terrible crime against people and nature. It demands justice.

For me personally it was the day I lost the last tiny bit of faith in humanity. I was still naive enough to believe that many people at least care about the environment, about the planet. Even on fucking tumblr I constantly see all this “save the planet” bullshit - but these are just empty words. None of you actually care: neither about the planet, nor about the future.
russia did what it always does - terror and genocide. Nothing new here. But the rest of the world just plainly ignore it. russia was never held responsible neither for this terrible crime nor for the millions of other war crimes it committed since then.
And it will continue to bring destruction and suffering all over the world.
Because you allow it.
Because you all comfortable to live in the world where someone with shitloads of money can do whatever they want without any consequences.

He once made the mistake of joking about taking a dive into a lake because he’d been craving fish, saying he’d give anything for one right then.
Sukuna didn’t even pause before jumping right in. And only then did Yuji find out that the boy didn’t even know how to swim.
He can still feel the sharp, visceral terror of seeing those flailing limbs going under without a sound, the stream of bubbles rising to the surface as he’d stared, dumbfounded, before realizing that Sukuna wasn’t coming back up.
Yuji cried so hard after fishing the boy out of the water that Sukuna awkwardly started patting his head in consolation.

BP profits have tumbled in the first quarter of this financial year – as climate campaigners blasted the firm’s move away from green investments as “not only planet-wrecking but financially wrong-headed too”. Profits for the oil giant, which earlier this year abandoned its ambitions to be a world leader in green energy, fell 49% year on year to $1.38 billion, short of analyst’s forecasts. Its net debt has risen by $4bn to $27bn since the end of last year because of weaknesses in its gas marketing and trading business, the company said. Activist investors Elliott Management, which took a 5% stake in the company this February, have been putting pressure on the company to boost profits by expanding oil and gas production and more than halving its investment in renewable energy. Patrick Galey, of green pressure group Global Witness, said: “BP has spent the last year flip-flopping on its climate commitments, lurching back towards fossil fuels just as the world needs a clean energy transition.

They updated the Yarnaby death scene and I can't see the beast element like- he's so polite??
Waiting doors to open, walking around calmly, not destroying anything- like make him try to rip doors open because he's impatient, make him slam against stuff as he runs to get the player (specially in the final chase) make him swipe at hiding spots (when the player isn't there too) scratch at walls doors etc
One could argue something but he was stated to act like an animal/dog after the operation, kept isolated by Sawyer (probably for years) then add the ten years before the player returns- by now the guy may have gone feral
Personal yapping I have a bias for beasts/monsters never let me get my hands on shit now I'll go back to sleep
