Hi Al! About Oscar incident today and how its being comparedto George's Canada one, Ive realised something else that may have contributed to the diferent outcome in penalties?

Correct me if I was wrong, but in Canada wasnt Max already almost side to side to George when George braked? Bc if I'm remembering correctly, he was and I think that changes the way we can compare the two incidents. Today when Oscar braked, Max had to do that manouver to avoid crashing into him, while in Canada the "overtake" happened bc Max was already in the position to accidentally do so, I thought that was an important information to take when critically analysing both accidents but I've still haven't seen anyone mention it. I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter!

I know supposedly penalties arent about the outcomes and about the action but we all know fia frequently takes in consideration the outcomes

Potentially but the main difference between the two is that Russell’s happened under safety car, but Norris’ happened at the safety car restart

This may seem inconsequential to some, but when there’s a safety car restart, the lead car is supposed to take on the role of the safety car (once the SC lights go out)

Therefore it’s the responsibility of the lead car to drive in a safe manner and not brake or accelerate to erratically as that could send false messages to the cars behind about when the restart is happening (whilst when they are under sc it’s quite clear that they aren’t restarting yet as the sc is still out)

If Russell had been penalised for his move (which I feel like he should have been in order to dissuade these actions) it would have been under article 55.5, which is to do with erratic driving under the safety car. Whilst Piastri was penalised for 55.15, which is specifically about the lead car on a safety car restart.

The common thing in both 55.5 and 55.15 is about other drivers having to take evasive action though, so the positioning and actions of Verstappen in both scenarios could have played a part.

But mostly I think people are failing to notice that one was under a SC whilst the other was at a SC restart and as such gave mixed messages to the following drivers

Draco finally knows

He knew something was wrong the minute he saw Harry, something was off about him. Weasley and Granger had no clue as they were bickering over something. He cast a slight charm and had Harry's head turn slightly. He nodded to the staircase and Harry got up and went there. Once he reached there he grabbed his hand and he took him to the Gryffindor common room.

"Draco, I'm not- I can't," Draco stopped him. 

"I didn't bring you here to snog you Harry as much as I want to," He closed the door to theroom and cast a silencing charm. "Is this where you lot sleep, like a bunch of-” Harry shot him a look. “Well mannered people, er- remove your shirt let me see," 

"How did you-"

"I know the signs," Draco wanted to say that he had been in this position before. Except he hid it so well no one knew to ask, plus there were no visible marks. But Harry already knew

“Draco,” Harry said softly. 

“Harry, shirt.” Harry sighed and took off his robes. Then his shirt. Draco didn’t even need to ask him to turn; he could see the beginnings on his shoulders and a couple marks on his arms. They were still angry red. “Harry…who did this to you,�� 

Harry chuckled, taking a seat on the bed. “The muggles I live with,”

“But they’re your mother’s- her sister, her brother in law, ho-”

“When did they start hitting you,” Draco asks, although he was still trying to wrap his head on what Harry had just said. 

“Draco, they hated my mother, they loathed my father, I can safely say, Snape loved my dad comparedto them. ” Harry said as he fiddled with his fingers.”They only took me in out of obligation, they never really loved me, because my mother was a witch and my father a wizard. In Fact they make sure to tell me everyday, in every language.” His fingers shook as he spoke.

“They never used to hit me, just scream, yell, neglect me, either only make me eat breakfast cause i made it and then not eat again for the rest of the day or make me do work around the house, no actually it was both, be my cousin’s punching bag, his outlet.’

“When they found out I couldn’t use magic outside of Hogwarts, they got so angry I didn’t tell them, they didn't start right away no, but it wqs subtle like planting a seed. Setting off a chain of events,” Harry hestrued to his back, “Which led to this, my uncle snapped and my aunt just followed along.”

“Harry…” Draco stood behind him as he started casting healing charms all round. “Why don’t you tell someone you know the Minister of Freaking Magic for Merlin’s sake, he’ll hex them himself if you asked.”

“Dumbledore said I had to stay with them because of the magic that was keeping me safe,” Draco whipped his wand and a tiny bottle came flying out of his trunk. 

“Harry, I say this without my usual voice of sarcasm, screw Dumbledore, screw your relatives,” Harry hissed as Draco’s wand grazed a rather recent wound. “At least now I know who to add to my hitlist.”

“I’m sorry,” Harry needed to apologise, he had to apologise.

“Harry don’t apologise you did nothing wrong, it’s your family that needs to apologise and then be thrown in Azkaban” Harry chuckled but he knew Draco was being serious. 

 “Then for behaving the way I did towards you, you’re friends.” Draco fell silent.

“Draco,”

“Yes?”

“I’m sorry,”

Draco again fell silent again, wrapping Harry’s back. “What ever on earth are you possibly sorry for?”

“For not taking your hand that day,” that day.

“Sorry about insulting Hagrid, I was a little stuck up back then,” Harry snorted. 

“You still are but I like this stuck up, he’s a fancy kisser,” Draco rolled his eyes and shocked Harry with his wand. 

“I’m sincerely apologising, Harry,” Harry reached behind him and pulled Draco’s hand in front of him. 

“I’m sorry for not taking your apology seriously, thank you Draco,” He brought Draco’s hand to his lips. “Thank you,”

“I’m still gonna buy you a flat though, maybe in hogsmead cause its closer to school and you can't apparate properly,” Confusion painted Harry's face.

“Erm? What?” 

“If you think you are leaving this school with the notion you’re going back, you are mistaken.” Harry just smiled.

“Wizarding laws-”

“Draco, was it, was it an unforgivable curse?” Harry noticed Draco's hands had stiffened in his. He reached over and pulled him closer hugging him. 

“Don’t matter,”

"Can suck my dick although I prefer your pretty little lips, he's not my type too ancient," Harry turned red and hit Draco's shoulder, Draco pretending, winced. "Is thar how you are, hiting your lovers, the great Harry Potter is a domestic abuser," Draco rolled him eye. "Fame, the thing's it does to you,"

The room slowly fell into a comfortable silence

“That makes both of us,” Draco chuckled and held  him back. “This term is rather short, once we board the train and I’m hoping I get you all to myself,” Draco sounded like he was joking but Harry knew better.

“You’re dad hates me Draco, He was a Death Eater, Plus he’s gonna notice you buying a house” 

“Harry, I can buy a random house somewhere, without the consent of my parents, I’m a bloody Malfoy, he with his thinking is gonna suspect that I’m pissed about something, or worse I was bitten by a werewolf” Harry chuckled Draco making him roll his eyes.

“Just say you wanna move in with me Harry, please, I wanna live with my boyfriend” Harry blushed at boyfriend. 

“Okay,”

“I swear I’ll even get Dobby to- what?” Draco doubled over. “I thought i’d have to do a whole Sonnet,”

“A what?”

“Ironic how I know more about Muggle literature than you,” Draco said, rolling his eyes. Harry sensing a lecture due to hanging out with Hermione for so long, leaned in and kiss him. "Don't worry we'll fix that,"

“Thank you,”

“For you, anytime,” Draco reached over and kissed him. "Anytime,"

You saying leah has been awful is so refreshing like everyone I've seen is slagging Jonas off and yeah that's valid but our players aren't playing well. Leah, Lotte, Beth, Alessia, Stina have just been lacking so much and Kim and Lia in midfield are starting to look tired. Mariona, Caitlin and Katie are carrying us right now. Our strikers cannot finish to save their lives, our midfielders lack the attack and our defenders just aren't keeping their heads in the game. I've also not seen anything from Daphne to suggest she should be started over Manu. Something has got to give

In terms of goalkeeping I think that is definitely more to do with rotation than anything else but DVD brings different GK qualities compared to Manu and I am by no means a Manu defender because that woman drives me insane but I think that with that position it is just rotation especiallywith CL but then again who knows at this point, i do think DVD is better at making those diving saves comparedto Manu who tends to freeze up whoch draws criticism even if the shot is unstoppable you have to try and she doesn't.

Lia and kim imo only one of them should be starting at any one time especially since lia is only just back from injury she's going to get injured again at this rate and kim struggled with injuries last season as well it's not worth risking their health because he doesn't know how to utilise his bench.

Our strikers are shockingly bad at the moment I have no words or explanations as to why apart from it has to be coaching because for country they score and are good players but for club they are terrible at the moment.

I would add Codina into the ones who have been carrying us alongside the ones you mentioned since she's been better than both Leah and Lotte lately and imo the Leah/Lotte pairing doesn't work and we look better when we play one or the other alongside Codina.

All in all I agree with you our entire team is Ass right now and something needs to change preferably the whole coaching staff at this point especially you Jonas and Kelly Smith

Are Aesthetics causing overconsumption with gen z ?🤔

Aesthetics are fun but is it the causality of overconsumption? Let’s talk about it. There has been a rise in the cycle of consuming too much of such things as cloths, jewelry, shoes and trinkets mainly with gen z. A new trendy micro aesthetic seems to be scattered across social media every few weeks which last only about two weeks to a month until a new micro aesthetic is created. Before with other generations styles or aesthetics lasted around 5-10 years which is such a dramatic difference comparedto now.

The time periods between aesthetics are dwindling at anuncontrollable rate which causes a lot of gen zers to overconsume items they do not need to constantly fit into a newaesthetic. We are seeing many fast fashion brands such as Sheinand Zara become very popular within this generation.

These brands produce a crazy amount of goods at a very fast ratethat is cheap and quickly shipped. Many of gen z’s population is between the ages of 13-25 and most of us cannot afford long lasting pieces of clothing anymore because of inflation.

That reason causes gen z to purchase from fast fashion brands in turn results in quite a lot of waste being produced in a short period of time. This constant cycle of buying from these fast fashion companies and then discarding it when you feel to switch to another aesthetics is very harmful to the environment. We can have fun without over consuming, can we not ?

I got jealous at the cemetery once. This 80 year old lady came to put flowers on her and her husband's headstone. She said they had been together 58 years. I told her she was very lucky to have had so many years with him. I just stood there in front of mine and my husbands headstone looking at how few years were on it comparedto theirs.

I literally can't imagine really being with anyone else. It's been 2.5 years and even if I get a crush or think someone is cute. It doesn't mean I actually am interested in any way with them. The idea is kinda gross. I know a girl who's 23, she tells me about all of her men she's talking to in hopes of a relationship. I just listening to her thinking ew. That sounds horrible. Why would I put myself out there. What am I going to talk about to a person if I went on a date. TV shows, my late husband, my trauma, how I don't actually want to leave the house ever?

Idk I'll just be the weird goth lady, giving witch vibes and may or may not live in a haunted house ( my husband is actually in his parents house, his father and I have both seen him)

I'm probably halfway through this life. I hope I'm a sunfish in my next one. That's seems like a pretty good deal.

Ok, let's look at this, point by point, because I think if there's one person with concerns, there's likely at least a bunch more who aren't willing to ask the question. I think this is a case of the (bioavailable) dose makes the poison.

TL;DR: aluminum is already super abundant in soil, and it's not a problem(at normal pH levels), and the amounts in the ac water don't effectively change anything. Aluminum can become a problem in very acidic souls, but it's not the one making the soil acidic.

So that first study did find aluminum, in the range 0.053 to 0.547 in parts per million (or ppm)*. Now, we need to compare this to some data points to contextualize it.

There aren't a lot of standards for aluminum in tap water, but California (which is known for being very, very cautious), allows it up to 0.6 ppm*. So already that's higher that the max amount found in your reference.

In the earth's crust, aluminum is already the third most common element. Soil itself, is 13–16% aluminum in the form of Al2O3.**

In soil acidifiers, well, people use a lot and they have to reapply because soil pH is actually kind of hard to change- though I do want to point out here, that it's not the aluminum that's changing the soil pH, it's the sulfur. Aluminum is just along for the ride. I just grabbed the info from the first one I saw, because my soil is already in the desirable range of acidity. The one I saw is 15% sulfur derived from Aluminum Sulfate (al2(so4)3n(h20). To lower 100 square feet of garden space from a pH of 6.5 to 5 (it is labeled for acid lovers like hydrangeas, but it gives us an idea of the range) you are directed to put on 1.5 pounds (around 0.7 kg). And that's for something that has 2 aluminums for every 3 sulfurs. It's been too long since I took chemistry for me to want to convert the forumula to the actual weights and mass proportions, but it's a lot of aluminum comparedto what's in the ac water.

The link between aluminum and soil pH is that in very acidic soils (with a pH below 5), aluminum can become toxic to plants. Not that aluminum is acidifying the soil. This is a direct quote from your source on that topic: "Aluminum (Al) is the third most ubiquitous metal in the earth’s crust. A decrease in soil pH below 5 increases its solubility and availability." So in acidic soils, it's more available, which some plants need, but a lot of garden plants don't, which is why garden soil tends to be slightly, instead of very, acidic.

So basically, all of the above amounts found in ac water and tap water don't matter because it's so abundant in soil already that adding the tiny amounts found in water won't effectively change anything, because aluminum only becomes a problem if your soil is very acidic.

Still, I had some aquarium test strips on hand, so I tested the water from my ac unit:

Which shows that it's somewhere between 6.5 and 7, which is great for gardens. And what you would expect from water that doesn't have a bunch of stuff impacting the pH one way or the other.

For the non-science and math inclined amoung us, we can just see what happens below all those ac widow units. Do you see dead spots? Or do you see plants growing, and in dry spots do you see plants thriving compared to their non-ac drippings blessed neighborhoods? Because I know what I've seen, asks it backs up all the science and numbers above.

Today at work I was listening to gardening podcast, and it stopped me in my tracks because one of the hosts said that gardening in containers was inherently unsustainable, because you have to water them so much more.

Now, obviously I disagree, and I think it's unnecessarily discouraging for folks who for one reason or another are limited to growing in containers.

There are so many ways to address this, and perhaps the easiest (if you're growing ornamentals) is to grow drought tolerant species so that they won't be bothered by less water than in-ground plants. In fact, this can be a solution if you live somewhere with moist soils but want to grow things that like dryer soil.

Next, if you have drainage holes and put pots on the soil surface, roots WILL eventually root down into the soil. You can cut the bottom off pots or enlarge the holes to encourage this. I keep plants that like to spread (such as mints) in pots like these, and I don't water them. Because I believe in making plants find their own water, in general.

Next, if you want to grow more water thirsty plants, then look into reusing water. For example, a lot of people wash their rice or rinse their beans- you can water with that.

Do you wash your veggies? Water with that.

If you hand wash dishes, you can wash in a dish pan and then water with that (put the chunks in the compost though).

You know how they say to catch the water from when your shower is warming up? Water with that.

Use a dehumidifier or a/c unit that collects water? Water with that!

Get a rain barrel (or more than one) & water with that!

Kyon Ki movie review...

It's a 2005 bollywood movie

I have seen this movie today and my god! It was actually funny and good. Seeing this movie I understood that movies in the year 20's were amazing comparedto current romantic movies.

In the story the male lead Anand is admitted in a mental asylum after he gets crazy as he sees that his fiancee is dead accidentally whom he loved a lot. There, a doctor the female lead, Tanvi treats him and falls in love, in that process but the villain her to be father in law sends Aman into coma using his doctor skills and later dies hearing which Tanvi gets mentally unstable which is where the movie ends.

It's a sad ending but tells how much a person can love their partner that they get mentally disturbed when they loose them. The first half comedy, the songs, that crazy passion in love, the way at the end how she was unable to move on from his death, the emotions during the climax...all were shown good.
