i fucking hate theater

#ogay time to ramble in the tags #so im in this community theater thing right? i signed up for the christmas play they were doing because i wanted an excuse to sing—#—christmas songs. they described it as a play with classic christmas music. i signed up and now i ring a bell at the end #so like. whatever. i didn't really care so long as i sung christmas songs.#but THAT'S THE THING #THEY TRICKED ME #they said /classic/ christmas music when they should have said /traditional/ christmas music #eg: we're singing the first noel and shit while doing a lap around the stage #AND ANOTHER THING #i did a musical with them not too far back. it was fun. i got really sick but i had fun. the directors were chill. they were normal #but THESE GUYS #they're so extremely intense and picky about this christmas play made for literal babies to perform at church and shit #and apparently they're also new to the directing game which. aha.#yeah even for someone like me who's only been in one show in her life. i could tell.#because this is an all ages production. all ages. all backgrounds. all skill sets #cool. fun. PROBLEM IS #they're treating everyone like broadway experts #changing shit a month off from production. not giving scripts. i had to write shit down in a notebook so i could remember my cues #even THEN IT'S THE SAME NOTEBOOK I USED WHEN I REPLAYED A BUNCH OF PICO GAMES #SO THERE'S MY NOTES ABOUT A SHITTY FLASH GAME FROM 1999 AT THE BEGINNING #ok not shitty at the time but like #you get my point #but YEAH #WE HAVEN'T EVEN BLOCKED THE BOWS YET AND WE'RE ALREADY DOING FULL COSTUME RUN THROUGHS #FUCK THIS #AAAHHHHGGHHHH #im the morning

Anyways when are we gonna stop pretending this isn't about "getting back at" an imagined trans guy. Good job! You both finally recognized trans men as men, AND ignored that they are punished for being men in one sentence. Really special work happening here.

The controversy is in only considering trans men as "men" in a way to hurt them. While also in a way misgendering:

"You're only a man because I know implying you act like a cis man in all the bad ways hurts you. In reality I see you all as hysterical bitches out to hurt the rest of the trans community" isn't progressive. It's just being nasty to be nasty.

Imagine hating trans people so much you joke about wishing they all died, then make posts like this, and assume that people will still think you actually care about the trans community.

I've gotta say I'm not a huge fan of putting Dragonese into the HTTYD movie franchise. The concept of a full-on dragon language they all share, that can just easily be translated into English, just really doesn't fit imo

I imagine they're a lot more like Orcas

There are universal ways to communicate with strangers of different species, like it's pretty easy to signal things like "i want to fight you" "i want you to leave" "it's dangerous here" "i'm in pain" etc. by just body language and vocalizations- but ways to communicate more complex ideas have to be developed and learned as unique dialects by different groups, especially flocks of dragons consisting of different species.

I imagine a terrible terror flock or a group of Speed Stingers have a lot of an easier time communicating with each other than a Thunderdrum and a whispering death do.

Dragons with their own dialects, cultures, and habits depending on location and group is really cool- I just don't think it should be a direct translation of how humans do these things, such as straight up language or mythologies or such.

it bugs me so much when I see people complaining about the lack of women in jrwi when like.... riptide is right there. riptide has so many cool npcs who are women VERY early on in the campaign and throughout the rest of it, PLUS a badass pc (jay) who is one of the best played/written characters in ANY of the jrwi campaigns. like. what's the issue here. you don't even have to go to a new show for cool women, literally their longest running campaign has a ton of them !!!

#puyo puyo #ringo ando #ecolo #necolo #i guess i can tag necolo separately lmao even if its the same chara #took part in the eppc drawpile n drew ringo! ive been wanting to draw something little red for such a long time #ever since i properly listened to drama 3-3 and clocked ecolo saying 'the uniform's nice but the dress is a nice change of pace!'#and i zoned in on it immediately. as someone given access to working hands i am able to draw ringo in more dresses and by god im doing it #(even if technically this is a blouse-skirt combo. shh)#also while coloring i tried to limit my palette as much as i could #so everything that shares a color is the same shade and all #much easier to color and it looks cool so win-win!#took artistic liberty with ecolo by making him grey instead of blue but such are the perils. of self-imposed limitations #i traded that out by making the green more blue to fit his original palette as opposed to ringo #(since she got the majority of first color decisions anyway)#anyway it was fun. i love drawing what i personally want to see and making it everyone else's problem #my stuff
