the way Lost Records paints queerness is so real but also SO funny
like, these four girls are constantly flirting with each other. all the time. but, no. we can't be gay.
Swann, what boy do you like? she totally describes one of them (non-subtly) and they're all like "ah, yes. a boy. nothing strange going on here".
even Nora, who clocks it, and Autumn's like "HA! you wish!"
Autumn. i just described Nora. word-for-word. PLEASE.
Nora's the gayest one and apparently is making out with men but feels ashamed about it.
Autumn responds to most of your advances with "aww thx :)" bc she likes men so she can't be gay so this fluttery feeling in her stomach when she thinks about Swann means absolutely nothing
you can kiss Nora before the dance scene and future-Nora is like "did you know i loved you?" future-Swann will be like "oh i just thought i was reading into it" like GUYS PLEASE-

If I have to see one more take about Corey being 'the most interesting character', 'deserving a redemption arc', and 'obviously not that bad underneath' just because he plays DnD and smiled during the concert I am going to chew glass
He's a human being! Abusers are human beings! They have likes and dislikes and friends! They like the same things YOU like! None of that makes someone 'actually good deep down'! You missed the point! Corey is abusive AND he's a guy that can appreciate a little teenage rebellion. Corey could be a guy sitting at YOUR DnD table. Unless you're the target of his abuse or happen to witness it, you might never know. That's not 'bad writing', that's just real life.

I love the fact that after Kat and Corey disappeared into the abyss that Dylan covered for Kat, even after she disappeared by putting Corey as the suspect for the ranch burning. No matter what happened, Dylan wants Kat to be remembered for who she was.

Corey was always a monster. He didn't need a redemption arc
So um. I don't get why some fans wanted a redemption arc for Corey. Did we not play the same game?? He was always a shitty person.
Corey has been nothing but an unapologetic bigot since the moment we met him and DONTNOD clearly took inspiration from Stephen King villains like Henry Bowers.
He was heavily implied to be abusing and manipulating Dylan and Kat is vocally against him, so, he's angry at Kat for getting in the way of him being controlling. It's also implied that Corey did something to Kat to warrant her wanting to curse him. The letters we get from Dylan to Corey paint a miserable and failing relationship. The letter/exchange from Kat and Dylan suggests Kat TRYING to get Dylan out of an abusive relationship and Dylan trying to defend him.
The only scenes we get of him are hurling slurs at both the girls. If you don't film Dylan or Corey, when Dylan is trying to calm him down he says "don't fucking rush me" "why are you being a bitch all of a sudden" Then if you don't film him during The Abyss chapter, he yells at Kat saying "I will drag you by the ponytail and teach you not to spy on your sister" this is after Kat calls out his plan on stealing the Ranch from the Mikaelsens.
Liking D&D. One smile for like half a second, nodding to the song and responding to a medical emergency the way any remotely responsible adult would have. I don't think that was ever supposed to imply he wasn't an asshole. Also, him being friends with Autumn's cheater ex wasn't a fucking sign that Corey was a prick? Like Autumn said, birds of a feather.
Also Corey's personal home situation while tragic did not justify him being an abusive bigot.
He treated the ranch like his property. Just like Dylan. He used Dylan to get the ranch and to enrich himself. So technically, he's a gold digger.
The ranch wasn't even his. He had just convinced himself that because he was in line to get it, he immediately had ownership, and took it as Kat trying to destroy everything that was 'rightfully his' and a personal attack against him.
Corey's rage that came after just showed the pebbles that were left in the earlier parts of the game: he is not a good dude
Abusers come off like everyone else. They have likes and dislikes. They have friends and people that like them. That doesn't mean they aren't abusive assholes. I've seen friends who are friends with abusers who defend their actions "well I've never seen that happen" Unless you're the target of his abuse or happen to witness it, you might never know.
A lot of abusive people shows signs they 'could' be better, but then they revert back to their old ways. It's unfortunately realistic and it's kinda nice that the game painted him in the toxic light he should be seen in, when so many games or shows will try to make them redeemable instead.
I for one, am grateful that the game didn't shy away for Corey being the abusive turd that he was. It wasn't the Abyss that made him this awful. It just ramped up his shitty character.
I am also grateful they didn't go the Billy Hargrove direction by making him "possessed" and wiping away his shitty actions a season ago because fans woobified him enough to get the stupid writers to ignore his racism and abuse of his step-sister.
Also. I've known friends who had a Corey in their lives and it really disturbs me that fans want violent, bigoted and abusive men to be seen anything but the violent and bigoted abusive men they are.
Sometimes people are just awful. They don't need anything more or have something good "deep down". Sometimes, there are no shades of grey and a turd is still a turd.
That's not 'bad writing', that's just real life.
Also. It's not Corey you should be rooting for redemption, it's Dylan for choosing Kat over her abuser. Dylan is the person you should be rooting for, not her abuser.

Hey!
How are you? I hope you drank enough water today
In this post, we're going to introduce you to the main characters in our story.
Oh, a note before we start, you can tell which one of us is talking by weather the writing is italicized or not! (L.B normal, Amour italicized)
All right, all right, let's get to the point. I hope you love them as much as we do!
Let's start with the Hero of our story, Corey.
In a quiet country home, amidst the shadows of a well-tended forest thicket, in a family of artisans, the soul of a boy named Corey was conceived. Early in his journey through life, he discovered a fondness for literature, nature, and the great stories of the past. However, a shadow of isolation and anxiety crept into his heart due to his difficulty in communicating with others. Often the boy went into the deep woods, carried away by his books, seeking solitude to read and immerse himself in the world of words.
With each passing year, Corey's reticence grew deeper and deeper, and insecurity and anxiety became an integral part of his being. Yet even in his darkest moments, his soul carried the germ of a desire for protection and a desire to be brave.
And so, at the turn of his ninth year, he met Bloom, a girl whose kindness and light penetrated through his gray thicket of anxiety, changing his life. She became not only his friend but also his inspiration, awakening his courage and determination. Bloom, albeit unknowingly, became his soul's guide to a unique world where fears gave way to courage and protection.
Fun Fact: When we started out on this idea, before Corey had a name, he was known between the two of us as "The Hero of Anxiety"! (True)
Now, a little bit about our darling princess, Bloom!
Bloom is the only child to the royal family, and is very sheltered and protected. As a child, she had a big mouth, and loved to talk and be around people. This was not the kind of perfect princess her parents wanted. They believe in a strict social ladder, and did not appreciate her chatting with guards and servents. As she grew older, she became more and more curious, inquiring about things her parents were trying so hard to keep from her. Her parents dreams of having a perfect princess to represent the royal family were crumbling.
So, one day they had enough, and permitted her to explore the forest outside the castle garden, so long as she's not bothering them in the castle. She loved it out there, it was freedom she'd never had before. Still, being the sweet, naive girl she was, she would always come home without question.
One day, when she was eight, she wandered further than usual, and stumbled upon a boy reading a book. Being the social butterfly she was, she was quick to try and talk to him.. and at first, her friendliness was not reciprocated.
But they warmed up to each other and became inseparable. She has never met another child before, he was freeing to be around. Corey had so much knowledge that she didn't know she had been longing for. She was attached to him in a way that she had never been before. They made the perfect match.
Fun fact: I used the Bloom palette when creating the Nightbloom Lily (and yes, the flower's name contains "bloom" for a reason)
Well, that's it! I hope we didn't give you too much of a rambling recap. Of course, in the future there will be more information about behavior, character, etc., but we decided to start here. I hope you will love them
Thank you for reading! <3
Bye!

The "everyone pushes Corey" ending of Lost Records: Bloom & Rage is for the OG LiS fans who picked the Sacrifice Arcadia Bay ending and thought, "Max and Chloe should've danced on the graves of that stupid town and then made out."
