A late night interview with Kinsey and Aluwa.

Here an excerpt from the short interview:

Aluwa: "What a thrill it is to be here and take part in one of Sinnoh's most beloved traditions--and what a honor it is to be sponsored by the Castelia City Battle Company! Of course, with such an illustrious dragon racer as me here, there hardly even has to be a race--we all know who the winner will be~ I've been undefeated for years with my main racing partner, and I'm sure I won't break that streak with a dragon I've never ridden before. If even one person manages to beat me, I'll be seriously impressed!"

Tobias commands his Kitzoro, a nine-tailed evolution to Zoroark, to leap into action.

“Now, Laika! Night Daze!”

Laika creates an illusion of a Night Daze hitting from the front while actually slipping behind the creature to hit it from behind.

Laika strikes with rapid attacks, but the Gourgeist seems to see right through the attacks! It whips one of its giant arms around to slap the true form of Laika and halt their attack all together, launching them back toward Tobias.

A loud keening is heard, keep trying!!

Examine! Benny

This guy... ohhhh this guy-- No, you jest. Benedikta or Benny is the result of a bet with Feiyun on if you'd bond with the friendly Benthic Milotic or not after he saved your life from some Hoenn variants. Feiyun won the bet, of course, and you're now stuck with a thirty foot baby of a sea monster who while appears terrifying to look at, is actually one of the most gentle of hearts.

He is protective of you and will bare his teeth even at family if they make you upset. You've had to set several rules that he is to follow such as not bearing them at your parents, uncles, aunts and grandfather for his own safety -- and not to scare Willow either. You know your daughter loves scary-looking pokemon, but Benny scared her if only because he is so very, very big.

You know Benny doesn't like rules -- no kid does, but he understands too that he has to follow them thanks to Feiyun having trained him beforehand as a hatchling.

You know he admires her own Milotic, Hailang. You wonder just how big Benny is going to get if Hailang is over two hundred feet, but you don't worry about it for now. In the end, Benny is not who you imagined being on your team -- but you're grateful he is. He's too sweet to pass up, after all.

The last person approaches the booth and Matsuba smiles sleepily, looking very ready to call it a night. However, there were only a couple ghosts left to hand out.

The Dusk Ball he grabs feels special, somehow -- and he hands it out to Lillie with a hum. When the button is pressed, the Pokemon materializes out of the beam of light.

It's a Shuppet, definitely, but the color of its fabric drape is an odd sort of blue rather than the dark black he's used to seeing. It seems to glitter in the lamplight as well.

It spins in a circle before shrieking in delight, floating in rings around and around and around them.

Tobias would awaken in a swirl of color. There were so many colors, as far as the eye could see. Oranges, blues, reds yellows greens browns magentas cyans, even colors Tobias never saw before, mixing, melding, swirling together in every direction.

There was no ground beneath him, yet he wasn’t falling. He was floating through the rainbow void, slowly, to a bright light in the distance.

A Voice rang out.

“Hello!”

“This is the portal to the world of Pokemon!”

“Before I can let you through, though, I’d like you to answer a few questions for me.” “Are you ready? Then let’s begin!”

“What is your favorite accomplishment of yours?”

I will fight anyone who disses even these guys. We know that these guys have families, Lance and Clair are cousins, Giovanni has a son, Ardos and Eldes are siblings, I could go on. Pokemon only fleshed out a few families, why not let the fans build up more?

An example that still needs some fleshing out with a friend is that @cottoncandyjcy is Whitney's older sister. Another that is all OC is Valerie's own family. Thomas and his father (Valerie's cousin and uncle) are discord only muses that my brother came up with. Later on, @cosmoscourge encouraged me to have Valerie be the descendant of his Volo.

"Fey, you won't be getting a starter due to personal reasons, so you'll get the trophy and the other things instead!" Hibiscus chimes, as he looks at the camera. "This is Scarlet Hibiscus, signing out from the contest halls, bye-bye!" The popstar said as the livestream ends with the top three performers.

Could you tell us a little bit more about Middle Eastern dragons? (eyes emoji)

This is a fun question, because the Middle East is full of dragons.

To start, you have Tiamat, arguably one of the oldest dragons known. The Goddess and Personification of the Sea/Salt Water in Babylonian mythology, she is also the mother of the deities by her mate Apsu/Abzu (potentially a dragon himself, as his narrative fits many key aspects of dragon myths.) When Apsu was slain by the younger gods, Tiamat raised an army against them (an army which itself included many draconic demons and monsters, such as the Mushussu and the Basmu). She was slain by Marduk, who then used her body to create the world.

Related to Tiamat, in the sense that they are sea dragons which represent a primordial chaos, are Tannin, Rahab, and the Leviathan, found in Canaanite and Hebrew mythology.

Iranian mythology has the Azhdaha, a dragon which lives in the sea, in the air, or on the land. Like many dragons worldwide, they begin their lives as snakes, who then become an Azdaha when they reach 100 years old. Eventually, God banishes them to the seas, where they continue to grow, and even sprout wings.

⚠ - Honestly? He tends to run headfirst into danger without much of a second thought - and that’s something that gets him into loads of trouble more often than not. He's very much an act first, think later type of person - which is why his brother kind of has to grab him by the back of his shirt and prevent him from doing dumb shit more than you'd really expect. He tends to think with his emotions and not with his common sense, so if he's in a very angry or upset state he might end up doing things he regrets a whole lot later.

☃ - Roark is an autumn person! Not only does he love the cool, breezy weather and the sights of the trees changing color, but he can and will take a trip to Eterna City just to walk around on the dry leaves. He says it's just because he wants to challenge Gardenia to a battle or something along those lines - but most people close to him know why he's actually there. It's fine to them, though - after all, the guy needs breaks more often than he thinks. It's nice to see him enjoying himself. As for his least favorite season? It’s summer, by a longshot. He’s already warm blooded enough to wear shirts with no sleeves in the winter - the summer heat absolutely kills this man. And that’s in Sinnoh - if he ever went to Alola he’d fry like an egg.

Tobias just barely dodges Laika’s huge body flying back at him from the Gourgeist’s attack. He’s about to call out one of his Ice type Pokémon to take advantage of the ice field, but Laika is mad—she doesn’t want to be bested so easily! This time she creates the illusion of a rustling sound from behind the Gourgeist—only to slip right in front of it and aim a Night Daze directly at the center of its face!

ITS A CRITICAL HIT!! Laikas anger translates into pure power, the Gourgeist distracted by the sound behind it, only to be met with the strange Zoroark dead on in front of its face, knocking it back like a gigantic punching bag.

It weebles, and wobbles, but it doesnt fall down just yet, an intense keening noise heard as it thrashed about at everything any anything it could.

A crit counts for two hits! It's almost down! Keep at it!

It wasn't often that Ashe found herself between a rock and a hard place travelling, but here she was stranded in Kalos with just Lucky and a knocked out Lapras, Loch, to her name on some research duty near the Sea Guardian's den. Said area was currently being inhabited by some Hoennian Milotic during their migration pattern to warmer waters ( but she had come here in search of Gyarados instead ). Terrified out of her mind and the waves getting choppy with a storm brewing in, she was panicked by the sight of the pokemon just a bit too close for comfort.

Lucky held steadfast in front of her, shooting out a Shadow Ball with a sharp bark at them. They hadn't meant any harm, but now they were angry. How dare she attack them when they were only trying to help!

And then came the Hydro Pumps being powered up.

Matsuba hums, definitely bobbing his head a bit to the music of the stall next door, and plucks up a Dusk Ball that seems to rock in his hand.

When handed over, it pops up the moment the button is barely tapped, the Misdreavus inside escaping with an energetic witch cackle. Seems this one was part of a coven of Misdreavus around the city.

"An energetic little one. Good for keeping you on your toes!"
