This is my second exercise in learning creature animation. I wish the rig had breath control or something similar. I did not trace the animation from the reference with an image plane. Using references certainly makes things more efficient. I don't own the rights to the reference video. Rig by  @truongcgartist  #creature

🐶🐕 Assassin's Creed Odyssey : The Fate of Atlantis Episode 2 was about Cerberus for me. I was in charge of developing its personality and behavior and it was a long path, a real challenge to make it special in term of animation and at the same time tune everything according to game design needs. The first draft was somehow an inteligent three headed creature that's acts as one but when it comes to shooting fire the three heads are very selfish and each one will fight to shoot first, so they'll bite each other until one wins. This sounds fun on paper but it got cut due to gameplay implications, it wasn't clear enough for the player to understand. You know, in game animation you have to embrace the fact that what you're animation it's not for the camera, it's for the player experience and that's what makes the challenge even more difficult and entertaining.
