Recieving a gift by mail in Finland (sent from outside of Finland):

Someone sent you a package! How nice! A gift! Maybe it's your birthday!

You get an email saying you have a letter in OmaPosti.

You log in to OmaPosti using email address and password.

Then you can download the letter.

The letter is only in Finnish and Swedish. You have to translate it using Google translate if you don't read these languages.

The letter instructs you to go to the Customs website where you have to:

log in using your bank identification.

You then have to fill out an online form that asks for:

the tracking number, contents, and value of the package. (Too bad if it's a surprise!)

Then you get to another form where you have to tell them when it arrived in Finland. (Usually that information is in the letter, but not always.)

If the information you've entered matches the information they already have in the system from the customs declaration that the sender filled out:

You eventually get another email, this time from Customs, saying you have a decision on your declaration.

You then must log back into the Customos website with your bank identification to see the decision.

If they decided you have done everything right, you will then eventually get your package delivered by Posti.

If not, then you are asked to provide a reciept or invoice for the price of the contents.

You obviously don't have this, so you have to ask the sender to send it to you by email.

You then submit the receipt for the gift to Customs and pay the 24% VAT on the gift.

Then you have to go back to Posti and pay a "handling fee" for them to deliver it to you.

Congratulations, now 14 - 19 steps later you get your gift!

Querido diario,

Sinceramente ultimamente nao tenho tido tempo para pensar em grande coisa. tudo acontece ao mesmo tempo e uma pessoa so vai, ja esta ligada no automatico e so vamos , sem nem saber muito bem como mas continuamos. por um lado é bom , ao menos nao penso no que ou em quem nao devo. bom tambem nao e que nao pense , so nao penso taaaanto quanto customo pensar. ate porque sejamos sinceras, se nao pensasse de todo nao estaria a aqui.. na nossa rede, no nosso ponto de encontro, no nosso quanto mais que especial e tao nosso. alias acho que de nos foi mesmo a unica coisa que restou. sentimentos separados e um tumble com tudo o que é mais sincero ( da minha parte pelo menos ). Tem sido tudo bem complicado ultimamente e confesso que as vezes sinto falta das mensagens, do carinho, da segurança de que vai ficar tudo bem. Ele era o meu porto seguro, quem eu precisava na minha vida e so eu nao quis ver nem aceitar. Tive tudo e preferi ficar sem nd. Por teimosia, por burrice, por ter esta ideia na cabeça de que o primeiro amor é o ultimo e de acreditar que e para sempre. odeiome todos os dias um pouquinho mais por ser assim tao fechada mentalmente. por nao conseguir avançar. por preferir ficar no confortavel e no que é garantido. e nisto tudo voltei a pensar demais.

Coffee shop AU?

they are both baristas - callum is fresh out of university and stuck in another dead end job, a feeble attempt to start paying off his student loan. whilst ben is trying to make a life for himself, away from the comfort and safety of walford. it’s not his dream job, not by a long shot, but the bills won’t pay themselves

now it’s a known fact that the newbies stick together in this workplace - callum has the upper hand slightly as he loves coffee, brought his first fancy coffee machine at 15 - whereas ben, well he’s never cared much for the stuff. sure that instant muck is a great boost when you’re sleep deprived or hungover, but that’s about it. so when ben messes up his third attempt at a flat white, callum takes pity on him and shows him all the ropes, or well, the buttons. they’re both on the closing shift that evening, and somehow ben manages to convince callum to stick around another hour and give ben his very own personal training.  

they’re a few weeks into the job when some cocksure customer starts flirting with callum. he’s all “oh you want my name? how about my number to go with that?” and “this is the best coffee i’ve ever tasted, i think you could teach me a thing or two.” and it’d be unfair to say ben’s angry, he’s not, he’s livid. livid because callum’s flirting back with the prick, and ben, well he’s spent weeks thinking there was this thing between the two of them, this push and pull that was bound to give soon, but now he’s questioning everything. callum has this sunshine personality, after-all, he attracts people with just one smile, and maybe ben never really stood a chance. 

but then there’s this one time, a week later, ben has to deal with an exceptionally a rude customer. he’s having have a terrible day, an anniversary of a time he’d rather forget but his mind won’t let him. he’d given the wrong drink to the wrong person, a mix up of names, and the women at the counter is acting as if he’s just thrown a pint of milk all over her. callum steps in because he can see ben’s hand shaking, his breaths becoming erratic. he approaches the customoer calmly at first, so very callum-like, but she won’t give in, she’s calling ben incompetent and stupid and callum just snaps - like never before. he asks, no, tells her to leave, practically throws her money back to her, makes sure she knows she isn’t welcome back in this coffee shop. and then he takes ben through to the back, swipes him a chocolate brownie from the counter, and orders him to take a break.

their manager is less than thrilled - ok so maybe it wasn’t callum’s place to ban a customer, but what else was he supposed to do? they spend their lunch break bonding over wank managers and then again their evening when they’re made to close up and scrubs the floor clean. and maybe that’s the night that something shifts in their hearts. the next day, calum is on his lunch break, he’s just been shouting down the phone to someone (definitely his brother)  and ben can see the stress radiating off him. so he does the soppiest thing he’s ever done - he makes callum his favourite coffee and add a tonne of chocolate sprinkles in the shape of a love heart to the surface.

the next week is pretty stressful because their arsehole manager is on a training course and suddenly callum is appointed acting manager for five days. so, of course, he uses this to his advantage and puts ben on nearly every close with him - ben would be pissed off if he wasn’t so desperate to spend more time with callum too. it’s their first close of the week when it happens. neither of them are sure who makes the first move, but next thing they know and they’re pressed up against the till, bodies closer than ever before, lips sticky with sweet coffee, and there’s a pile of mugs smashed on the floor beside them.

ben asks callum to be his boyfriend on a monday morning, he sprinkles a question mark on callum’s coffee and stutters his way through it. it’s safe to say neither of them turn up to work the next day.

callum asks ben to marry him on friday, they’ve just cut the ribbon to open their brand new coffee shop when callum gets down on one knee. it’s safe to say that mitchell & highway soon becomes the nations favourite spot for proposals.
