MODERN MIZU THOUGHTS

Kicking off my Hyperfixation with some silly little thoughts about modern-day Mizu!

Just a mix of headcanons and imagines, maybe I'll write some of them out into proper imagines if there's any interest! I have some spicier movie imagines already partly written!

Let me know if you like them, I definitely have MANY more thoughts--

This is my first time attempting to post my writings like this, so apologies for any errors.

(TW: canon-typical mention of SA due to Mizu's backstory)

So, of course, in the modern day, she wouldn't be as immediately ostracized the same way, but...

The closest I could think of was that her father was one of four very rich men/CEOs and her mother/baby Mizu were targeted to try to keep the "affair" quiet.

Still believes herself to be the product of SA (I know there's speculation among some fans as to whether this will be true, but since it's what she knows in the show, I'll just say that's true as far as she knows here too)

This still left her with a similar huge complex about her self image, bc she knows she has her dad's eyes, and that he got her mother killed

Went into the system after her mother’s mysterious “death”, got adopted by Eiji after she just wouldn't stop sneaking away from foster care to bother him/stare at his swords

He's still a swordsmith because people DO still do that in modern day. It just would make him even more famous/special.

The whole thing with M*k*o did happen, they divorced, she is aware that that woman is not her biological mother and they are No-Contact

Since she knows that was a maid, she still has the belief that her mother was killed for the reason listed above and still wants revenge.

I debated SO HARD about what she would go to college for. Because her two biggest passions are the sword-making, and revenge, both of which are hard to translate to modern day by themselves, much less in a combination.

(I thought about business, like maybe she wanted to take down a CEO father by taking over his company, or about law enforcement/law school, but they all felt wrong for her character.)

Because let's be honest, those four men in modern days would be involved in organized crime, so Mizu would probably just go straight for that kind of situation as well in order to tail them.

She isn't one to play by the rules of ANY organization

So, she's involved in organized crime on the down-low while going to college.

She doesn't work for anyone in particular, but she does run in shady circles and knows certain names and places. Nobody knows much about her, though.

She's definitely made enemies.

She's only in university at all because Eiji demanded she do something good with her life, and she can't stand to disappoint him so she does try somewhat hard to balance both.

I saw someone else on here say she would pursue Materials Engineering, and I think that’s probably a great option for technical sword smithing. (Sorry, I can't remember who it was, but it was NOT my suggestion.) That or something involving Metalworking in art (my fav cuz it's what I do).

She does sword training privately. She's not in any clubs on campus because, similar to in canon, she prefers a mix of them and actually does use her skills when she's "working", not just for what she considers play-sparring.

She's an older student that went back to school after her divorce.

DON'T ask her about that.

You two meet because you're both looking for a roommate halfway through a semester.

You had a nasty cheating-related breakup that culminated in you kicking your ex AND old RM out, leaving you with an apartment you couldn't pay for alone.

She used to room with Ringo, but just simply could. not. stand. Ringo’s intensely social atmosphere. He's a culinary student who is very respected in classes, and constantly inviting people over for dinner. (Edit: This was also partially someone else's!)

She noticed your ad that specified looking for someone quiet, in an off-campus place that offered a small courtyard for her training.

Perfect.

Your first thought when you meet her is “god damn.”

A tall drink of water with gorgeous eyes and a voice like crushed silk.

Haha I'm in danger

But you keep that under wraps. You tell yourself that you don't need to be rebounding with the person that just moved in.

So much for a roommate that doesn't offer any distractions, though. Her training in the yard pretty much means you get zero work done in that time unless you close the curtains.

…She is very quiet, at least. Even if she keeps odd hours with her strange "job".

However, Ringo is going to be stopping by almost every day to make sure she eats, so expect a lot of humming and a LOT of friendly questions.

Ringo is actually responsible for the two of you getting to know each other initially, because he asks questions of you that Mizu won't ask, and subtly makes sure to do it when Mizu is around to hear the answers.

She pretends to ignore you both, but can't help but tune in a bit.

He also chats a bit about Mizu, as long as it isn't anything she's told him is a secret, and ignores her glaring at him.

She stays stoic about it, but secretly she's rather flustered when you seem interested in a positive way by what Ringo blabs to you about her.

She also appreciates that you don't bug her about it when Ringo isn't around even if she kind of wishes you did

He is Very Excited that Mizu now has TWO friends! :)

Mizu acts annoyed by him, but she is secretly pleased when you seem to like him.

She would not fw you if you didn't. He's like a beloved sibling; she gets to complain about him, but she'll fight anyone else that doesn't like him.

You finally get to ACTUALLY start becoming friends when you both happen to stay on campus over a break.

You aren't on good terms with your family, so you assume you'll have the place to yourself, but...

Walking by Mizu’s room you notice that she's still here.

Her door is open for once because she also assumed you would be gone.

After staring at each other in mutual surprise, you awkwardly ask her if she wanted to maybe hang out over dinner and watch a movie or something.

She would normally have said no, but with nothing else to do over break, she chose to focus on doing homework continually (She is perpetually behind because of those Extracurricular Revenge Activities of hers), and she is just so done with it

So she awkwardly agrees

And you learn the hard way why Mizu is not allowed in the kitchen EVER.

You try, you really do, to keep that first bite in your mouth, but…

She shamefacedly asks if you're alright while you're still coughing over the garbage can, but your coughing turns to giggling.

You joke to her that you're actually glad to know she isn't perfect at everything, and she seems surprised that you admire anything about her to begin with

You're willing to start over ON YOUR OWN, but she insists that would be unfair and orders you both takeout.

Since she bought dinner, you insist that she gets to pick the movie.

She kind of wants to put on that new slasher flick that just came out on streaming, but she isn't sure what you like and you seem like such a sweet little thing.

And after nearly killing you via spices, she didn't want you to think she was a TOTAL psycho.

(She doesn't want to talk about why she even cares what you think.)

So she chose a documentary on modern sword-smithing that she knew Eiji had been interviewed for.

(This surprised you, because you were EXPECTING her to choose a horror. She just seems like the type. And maybe you were hoping for an excuse to snuggle closer…)

But this is actually really interesting, and you find yourself fascinated. You never knew about the details and craftsmanship that went into this!

She tries to sit quietly, as usual, but she just can't resist the urge to point out Eiji when he appears.

She's just too proud of her sword-father. That pride is obvious in her voice and makes her seem almost soft for once.

This makes you feel ever so slightly brave, and leads to you pausing after his section (because you don't want to talk over him), and asking all sorts of questions.

Normally she wouldn't be thrilled about this, but she can't resist questions about Eiji the way she can about herself.

Somehow this leads her to ask some minor question about your major, related to something you told Ringo, and she's startled at the jolt that runs through her when you light up, just beaming at her.

“I didn’t know you listened to any of that!”

You start excitedly explaining, but she's distracted by the strange thrumming in her chest at the way you smiled at her.

(This is not going to be a problem for her. It's NOT. )

the kind hearted/cool headed bf, sure he may look emo but that's not the point. Always gives his honest opinion on everything, great to lend an ear if you to want to talk about your day or vent. Love language: quality time because spending time with you seems to be the good part of his day it's really sweet, but from time to time when he's really slammed with work, he'll send one of his comrades to tell you that he's okay and still alive protecting the body and stuff.

Makes you wonder how the heck he does it but yk 4-9 is mostly bending the rules 98% of the time when it comes to using unknown items as weapons 😂

He tells the most hilarious stories of how he gets stuck in the migration routes that he wouldn't dare tell his squad about.

The tension between your hand and his fluffy white hair is strong and he's aware of it. It's like this: you two are sitting together, your hand was soooo close to petting a side bang and then the second he turns his head to you, you dart your hand back and look the other way. So what does the clever 4989 do? He takes off his hat and threads his fingers through his hair before actually taking your hand and placing it on the top of his head. "You know, all you had to was ask, silly."he implied with a grin. annnnd now you're burning from embarrassment.

Whenever you see him smile or laugh it's like the sun to you, warm and full of energy.

At times, you forget how you turned out to like him, no it's not the bangs that cover his face like a hentai protagonist, it's his acts of service and his calming voice that seems to soothe you when you're in the darkest depths of sadness to then distracting you from what you're doing because you think of him that much and you want to slap yourself silly. Not long ago you gave your lover a notebook and told him that you've been wanting him to read the stuff that's in there. Of course Jamil is a very busy guy so it takes him a while to actually read what's in there.

So when he sits down to read whatever it is you wrote in there he was not expecting these to be romantic stories about him and you!

"I'm dating a total weirdo.." he moves his hand to his forehead and keeps it there as he reads more. The more he reads the weirder he feels this is, but he's enjoying these stories. The more he resds the wider his smile gets and from time to time he chuckles a little.

Of course being Jamil and having the fate to be stuck with Kalim he gets a call from he's most hated person and has to end his break. But he'll come back to this later and will praise you for your work as a good boyfriend should.

"Darling." he says, not an unusual nickname. He has been using it for a while "I have found something you've been keeping from me and I feel a little bit hurt by that.." you cannot figure out what he's talking about but the next thing he'll say will shock you. "I had no idea you had such a strong desire to go out with me, and yet still not ask me out. I must say I'm a little disappointed in your lack of confidence but we can work on it, on our date." You can't believe he just said that- a date with Vil? THE Vil!? But the date you two will go to will be very much real.

Today was stressful.. not for school reasons, and not social reasons either.. it's because your personal notebook is nowhere to be found! It only makes sense that you would be so focused on your thoughts when a precious item is lost." he does a thing with his hands being.. well.. Rook. And as you are about to agree with him you immediately notice that his line is fishy... "Rook don't tell me..." he smiles at you as you get hit with the realization of your notebook's whereabouts "YOU STOLE IT DIDN'T YOU" it's not even a question, it's a statement. "You are correct! Although you wound me by keeping these stories for yourself.. I find them to be quite exquisite!" then he goes into his bag and pulls out a notebook, your notebook, and folder. a folder..? "As an apology for my actions I have made you a gift, and of course will give you your notebook back." he hands you your notebook and the huge folder "I hope you will forgive me, and will come meet me tonight in my room." Rook gives you a smile as he's about to leave, yet you still don't know what's in the folder he gave you, so the moment you are back in your room you open it only to see a bunch of poems, fics of his ownaboutyou, drawingsofyou and in the end of it there's a note that says 'there's more ;)'.

"what makes you ask that?" you question him and he freezes at that. "Do you not wish for me to ask such a thing?" he feels as if he messed up, as if his perfect courting plan has failed and that you won't wish to be with him. Of course Malleus is totally wrong, you just want him to be himself freely "I mean sure I do, but there's no reason for you to even know that about me." and you start to connect the dots. "Malleus did you read through my notebook!?" "You have left it open and my curiosity got the better of me. I'm sorry.." he quickly apologizes for his lack of keeping privacy but you quickly tell him it's alright, just odd. But you are no better considering the fact you write romance about a real person.. "Just don't try to follow my story and be free to do what you actually want."

SMOKE/ TOMAS VRBADA

Not having heard from you in a while, smoke goes on a search around the Lin Kuei temple.

Doesn't notice you the first time he passes by you.

Has to do a double take.

When he comes back, he can believe his eyes.

You seemed to be asleep while leaning on one of the support beams of the temple

How you managed to keep yourself upright while napping is a mystery for Smoke.

Spend a short time just watching you.

Thinks you might be faking it at first but after investigating, he confirms that you are in fact napping while standing up.

Has to bite the inside of his cheeks to stop himself from laughing.

Knows how hard you've been pushing yourself in the Lin Kuei training.

Smoke would carefully pick you up, making sure not to move you too much so you don't wake up.

Brings you to your shared rooms

Hours later, (Y/n) woke up slightly disoriented. Panic started settling in them only to melt away as quickly as it came when an arm wrapped around their stomach flexed. Following the arm with their eyes, (Y/n) smiled softly as the face of a sleeping Tomas came into view. Deciding that another hour of napping would do them good, (Y/n) repositioned themselves to face their partner and went back to sleep.

KITANA

She was on her way back to her throne when she stumbled upon your sleeping form.

The place you had chosen as your resting place was the stairs.

Kitana stared at you in disbelief.

She did find the sight quite amusing.

So did the others that went up and down the stairs.

Kitana didn't want to disturb your nap but was also worried that someone could involuntarily hurt you.

Torn between letting you sleep or waking you up, she slowly approached you.

Opening your eyes, you were greeted by the beautiful smiling face of your girlfriend.

Can't stop herself from chuckling at you as you drowsily stood up.

Will genuinely laugh when you turn to face her and there would be an imprint of the stairs on your cheeks.

You feel a bit embarrassed but Kitana reassures you that she finds it adorable.

Will guide you back to your shared room as you are still quite exhausted from running around the temple, helping wherever you can.

As they lay on their soft mattresses (Y/n) glanced over their shoulders. Kitana was leaning against the doorframe of their bedroom. “Join me?” They asked in a sleepy voice. Approaching the bed, Kitana placed a gentle kiss on her partner’s lips. “I’ll join you soon, I have important matters to take care of first.” With one last kiss, they watch her leave. In a matter of seconds, they were back in sleep’s embrace. Hours later, Kitana would keep her promise and join them.

MK9 KABAL

The man would stumble upon you by accident.

Has to process what he's seeing to fully understand it.

You were half hunching over one of the special force vehicles, your head resting on your arms like a makeshift pillow.

Kabal can’t imagine how you’d be able to fall asleep in such an uncomfortable position.

Unless you were extremely exhausted.

Which he believed you were considering you didn’t even react to him gently shaking your shoulder.

Does consider leaving you there.

But decides otherwise since he knows how bad the stiffness is going to be once you wake up.

Uses his speed to bring you to your shared room and tuck you into bed.

Will tease you about this when he sees you again.

Massaging their stiff neck, (Y/n) walked inside the meeting tent. Kabal was already there, discussing strategies with Sonya Blade. Upon hearing someone approach, Kabal glanced their way.

“ Morning sleepy head.”

The meeting would pass in a blur and throughout it, (y/n) could somehow feel Kabal grinning at them behind his mask. As the meeting came to an end, (y/n) approached the man puzzled.

“Any reason why you’ve been grinning at me the whole meeting?”

Later on, they would regret asking this particular question.

“You weren’t in bed when I found you sleeping yesterday.”

In thus begin the incessant teasing from Kabal whenever he would find you near a vehicle. What he would never tell you was that in truth he was only worried about you. Seeing you this exhausted made him think how poorly you’ve treated your sleep schedule. Kabal would go out of his way to make sure you were sleeping properly and in a bed.

He met you as Silas Birchtree while making another wacky cult in Orchard Lake, Kansas. You were one of the very first belivers which amused him greatly! How was that, it was always you who greased your shoes the best and you who tied your bowtie so hard, you almost couldn't breathe??? Not only that, you even had the most screeching voice from all the converters! Not that he liked you or anything, but that's kinda hot!

While he was slowly getting attached, you on the other hand tried to learn about him as much you could. Who was Silas Birtchtree? Where did he come from? What did he want from this town and why was he oh so charismatic?

You sensed danger, so despite your hatred for bootlicking you tried to get as close as you could to the mysterious man. After all, it's important to keep your friends close and enemys closer.

He even let you be his right hand man! Every time you prized this so called "Bill Cipher" you could feel Silas' unblinking eyes on you. And he fought you were the guillable one!

With time tho, your relationship began to evolve. He didn't let you attend the meetings with other converters, no, he gave you more "special tasks" as he would call them. At first they were just random like making a statue of Bill, shaving you head, medytating at 3 am… but then they started to change. With time you found yourself more and more alieneted, rarly spending time with anybody but Silas, sometimes with him only staring at you, not saying a word.

And sometimes the only thing you had to do was to sleep! And for some reason he always knew if you tried not to!

But sleep began to be a chore. A one you didn't particularly like, since you had to lay in complete darkness on an old mat with only your thoughs as a company

The doors were always open but something kept you too scared to leave. You couldn't talk with your friends, nor prepare your family to get out of the town. Instead your only company was a looming, laughing shadow that started to appear in your dreams.

His name was Bill! You couldn't belive it, but he was actually real! You almost convinced yourself that you created him because of Silas' stories! But no! He was there, happy to see "his favorite human" and ready to make your nights actually enjoable! It changed everything!

Which should have been a warning to you. At the time you started to warm up to him, he started to read more and more of your mind. All the lies about your devotion, all your plans to stop Silas and destroy his cult, all your hopes to get your family and friends out of this wretched town.

He was furious.

Aw, You tried to keep your family safe huh? Get them far, far away? Oh well, you don't have to worry about them now, cuz now they are DEAD!

Oh, no, all your friends prefer to bow to him instead of listen to you? Why don't you tell him how much you love him maybe that will make them not kill themselfs as an offering?

When you aren't grateful for freeing you from your stupid human relationshps he decides to get more… intimite.

Which means getting into your head of course! He really came to adore you silly creativity and stubborness. He even grew to enjoy it! He tormented you with nightmares and visions until your mind turned into mushy goo and your face was covered in tears!

It was just a a matter of time when you went mad! He could even say he was proud of you - you were more loyal, more clingy and cuddly then ever before! You looked just like a beaten puppy! Oh and you were biting to!

With just a little help, you've became a real henchmaniac, or as humans call it these days - a terrorist! You even killed a random teenager who was crushing on Bill! Aren't you a charmer?

He even got you to become his wife at some point! You would do everything for him, just to not show you… the visions. But who cares? You two were now a happy, loving couple, with nothing that could step between you!

Except your death of course. What a shame.

ok im gonna get my yap on, because Brody Grant has so much power in this fandom and I need to talk about why. Am I overthinking this? Yes. Is everything I’m about to say super obvious? Also yes. But who cares.

Ok so some might say “oh the fandom just likes him cuz he’s hot” and the thing is, yes hes hot, but so is the entire cast? And I can’t think of anyone else in the cast who can break the fandom with one single appearance. I think the key of it is the fact that hes unpredictable and always leaves us wanting more. See, back before the Tonys he was doing a lot of press, both for opening and as a nominee. And then post Tonys, you had a three month drought where we practically didn’t get any content of him. However we were still riding high from the pre Tonys interviews, so the obsession continued to stay strong. And theres an element of someone not having their entire life and personality on public display that makes them so much more exciting. And then he disappears for an entire month, then comes back blonde and posts a bunch of photos from his trip in Tokyo. He then goes on to start appearing in the occasional Soc Saturday after not appearing in one for literally months, then is in sky’s Instagram, and starts posting on Instagram more!! So hes giving us just barely enough content to keep us sustained, but also leaving us wanting to much more. Theres also a level of mystery that’s just super exciting cuz you literally never know what he’s gonna do. Is he gonna disappear for a month and go blonde? Is he gonna show up on Soc Saturday and yell about a guy named Mike? Who knows. Not to mention how… mysterious the post he just made was? Like who even knows why he posted that?? No clue, but it’s wonderful.

now of course this is how he has maintained this strange hold on the fandom, but how did he get it in the first place? Of course hes good looking, but hes also absurdly talented, and a very charming person. He’s interesting because he has this kinda edgy ‘persona’ tho idk if that’s exactly the right way to describe it, but then you watch an interview with him and hes this super duper genuine, thoughtful, interesting guy! And then u see a clip of him with the cast and hes just really silly and funny. And so he has all these sides to him which is very intriguing. And he just has this like- really sweet smile and also I think the ear cuff and fingerless glove combo is something that definitely had a major effect on the fans. Ok ive kinda lost the plot.

also theres something about him having social media and rarely using it. Because then it’s like oh we could get content but you never know when- there are a lot of cast members who are super active on social media so we get used to it, or actors who don’t have it at all, meanwhile Brody can just get on there, say something, explode the fandom, then leave. Hes also very intentional about what posts he leaves up, which we can tell from his occasional cleansing of his account. Idk what my point is here but I wanted to say something about this

the whole point of this au was basically just. giving me an excuse to imagine kid junho shenanigans while also making inho be the frontman. because 1 it's a little funny to picture this like dark cloaked mysterious figure and then his twelve year old brother who's like "hyung i want an xbox" and keeps sneaking out to hang out with him while he's at work and 2 i need junho traumatised earlier. for my own health. he's a child and he's already seen more horror and violence and death and immense betrayal play out than most people will ever see. he's a child and he sits next to his brother and watches death games on the big screen. he's a child and he knows the horrors people live through, and he knows the system and the people responsible for it intimately. he's a child and he's accepted all of this as fact. he's a child and he's taught to believe all of this is immutable. he's a child and he's not sure he believes it, but he's willing to pretend it's okay. he's a child and all he wants is his brother. yk.

which means 1 we have silly ideas and 2 we have serious ideas.

let's start with silly. i'm thinkin a lot about junho sneaking out to spend time with inho. he's soooooo bored of sitting in the penthouse with jack shit to do and his pen is out of ink so he can't even scribble about it and he doesn't want to read cuz half of inho's books are boring and the other half are in english which he's only vaguely familiar with. so he gets out when he's nnnnot supposed to and he creeps around til he finds inho handling things in the vip lounge. and he sneaks over to where he is while the vips and the host are all distracted with the games and he's like "hi inho" and inho's like "what the FUCK WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE" but he doesn't say that he says "junho you really shouldn't be here" and junho's like "i wanted to see you" and inho's like " . well fuck kid you really got me there" and he's like "erm host might i be excused. something came up" and ilnam sees junho standing awkwardly by inho's little podium and he's like "lol. lmao. sure you can go. btw make sure to get a mask for the little bugger" and inho's like "yes sir salute emoji" so he and junho basically just get the rest of the day together. well. until inho gets called away to handle a situation with the guards. and junho gets to watch inho shoot four people on the big screen. with stars in his eyes cuz he loves his brother sm. and thinks he's so cool.

serious time. there's a somewhat angsty inverse of that idea where junho doesn't immediately go to inho's side upon entering the vip lounge. and the vips see him first. and one of them calls him over and has him sit next to them. nothing happens for the record this isn't a s1e7 moment he doesn't get assaulted. but when inho sees junho sitting with one of the vips he freaks out cuz he Knows what the vips are like and what they do. and he knows what that vip probably intends with this kid. but he can't say anything and risk losing his job (getting fired on the island is a lot more literal than in other workplaces) so he just has to wait until the game ends with a clenched fist. and then he gets junho the FUCK out of there. he and ilnam have to explain a million times in a million ways that junho is Not for sale and no, offering more money to take him does not change that. but they get him out successfully and inho lectures him "these are NOT people you want to hang around" and junho's like "i'm old enough to make my own decisions !! besides, you hang around them all the time" cuz he doesn't know what the fuck's going on yk he doesn't understand that a man was literally just trying to Purchase him. for very nefarious purposes. and inho is like "that is very different. that's my job. and you're TWELVE" and junho's like "you never let me do anything 🙄"

ilnam actually has to tell junho why he can't see the vips himself. cuz inho doesn't want to scare junho (he always gets so worried when he has to introduce junho to a new part of life on the island. when he first had junho watch the games with him he was very nervous about it and now it's just a part of life like everything else. but he fears the idea that one day he'll have to reveal something so horrifically immoral to junho that he'll leave forever. but really junho would never leave him. again, he's a child and he wants nothing but his brother) so he's not gonna tell him anything but ilnam dgaf so he's like "junho that man was gonna keep you as a pet. sexual style. he was trying to buy you. for sex reasons" and junho is like " . oh. hey hyung um i promise i'll never go anywhere near those guys again" and inho is like "PLEASE LISTEN TO ME NEXT TIME"

this does have serious effects for junho btw. cuz now he knows that these people don't just make poor people fight to the death for their pleasure and whatnot but. yk. jesus christ. and these are ilnam's friends? these are the people his brother works for??? he lives in ilnam's fucking penthouse on the island. he lives with ilnam. and ilnam's friends are. jesus christ. one of them tried to Buy him. jesus christ. his brother works for these people.

there's no part of his very malleable brain that can accept this. he can be conditioned to accept a Lot of things. has been conditioned to accept a lot of things. but this. yeah he cannot possibly think this is okay. but he's a child, and he wants nothing but his brother, and he's seen what happens to employees who step out of line and he knows inho would be treated the same. so despite his hatred and rage, he tries not to think about it.

anyways um let's go back to silly as a pallet cleanser after that Sorry for the sudden sharp turn there lmao. between the games when he and inho are back on the mainland (they only stay on the island during the games and game prep/cleanup) they live fairly normally. well except for the fact that junho isn't allowed to see his mother anymore (again, inho did basically kidnap him. junho can't just come and go like it's nothing. like years down the line he's calling himself an idiot for not just telling malsoon he was going on a trip and taking junho and bringing him home after the games ended. then again malsoon would probably question inho being able to afford several week long trips so maybe he would've had to simply take junho anyway.) but that's the exception. they have a little apartment (nothing grand despite how much money inho has. yk like in canon) and they spend most of their time straight chillin.

junho's a missing person so attending school is errrr a bit complicated (he doesn't. lmao. his ass is never gonna be able to enter society at this rate!!! inho you're sabotaging your brother!!!!!!) but he's still got friends he talks to and hangs out with. inho works part time despite not needing to (he's not a cop anymore. his ass QUITTTT that shit shortly after his games.) and he also volunteers at a library (fucking nerd) just to keep himself busy. junho sometimes hangs with him while he's at the library. helps out sometimes. just dicks around and reads whatever he can find sometimes. he's addicted to graphic novels he can't put the novel down. he's sick of inho's art history books and he just likes the art itself so he's always reading comics and how to draw tutorial books and whatnot. he can't stop drawing cars and cityscapes it's a problem. he can't put the pen down. (he draws and writes exclusively in pen btw he does not use pencil. weirdo fucking freak dude. a lot of his art looks scratchy because of this. he doesn't like it but he still refuses to use pencil. he likes ink. inho thinks the scratchy sketchy look is cool though so really that's enough justification)

junho btw goes through hobbies like paper. the only ones that develop and stick are drawing and writing but he goes through like a million of them between the ages of twelve and sixteen. he tries to learn to play bass at some point because he thinks bass is the sexiest instrument (inho rolls his eyes when junho says that but gets him one anyway and signs him up for lessons). he gives that up like a month in. keeps the bass though cuz it's cool. he gets really into bird watching for like a week (he can still name like any bird he sees ten years later). he's not a huge gamer but every so often he gets obsessed with a specific game and plays it nonstop. at some point he gets like really into movie reviews. etc. inho supports all of his hobbies even if he knows junho'll get sick of them in two months tops.

inho has very few things he does other than work, volunteer, and read. those really take up most of his time. so not many hobbies per se. he sews, but that's less a hobby and more a skill of his (comes in handy when junho rips his clothes for the thousandth time). he cooks, but again less something he enjoys doing and more just a necessity (he's very good at it though. Very good. junho's mother taught him a lot. plus cookbooks.) people know him as a very boring person. except for junho. who thinks he's the coolest guy in the world. except for the fact that he works for freaks and monsters. but this ain't about that fr.

serious again When junho's an adult he finally gets to see his mother again. the day he's an adult malsoon calls inho's phone (she used to call very often after both he and junho went missing but he never picked up. she stopped calling after a while.) and leaves a message saying she misses junho and he'd be an adult now and she doesn't even get to see him. she doesn't get to see her own son. he's an adult and she hasn't seen him since he was Twelve. and inho is like. hm.

he asks junho if he wants to see his mother again. and junho's like "holy shit really?? you'll let me see her????? ofc i want to see her holy shit Please" and inho drops him off like a block away from her place and junho heads up and knocks and malsoon freaks out. cuz yk that's her baby boy at her doorstep and it's been so god damn long yk. and she asks a million questions (that he doesn't answer. of his own accord for the record. inho never told him he can't say anything he's keeping these secrets himself) and she makes something to eat (it's not as good as inho's. or maybe junho's tongue has just adapted to his cooking and forgotten his mother's.) and fawns over him all day. and despire how much he was looking forward to this, junho feels hollow.

at some point she asks him if inho's the one who took him. he doesn't say anything, and she takes this as confirmation. calls inho heartless. a monster. smth like that. junho says nothing.

she tries to get him to stay with her but he denies. denies again when she pleads. kisses her forehead and says he loves her, but walks out the door. walks down to the nearest library and calls inho to pick him up. and inho does.

junho's pretty quiet on the ride home. inho asks how it went and junho doesn't answer. very quietly, he says "you know i love you, right?" and inho falters for a moment. says "of course i do." and junho says "you know i'm not going anywhere." and inho slumps with something like relief. and he says "yeah. yeah of course i do."

junho sleeps in inho's room that night. he doesn't let go for a second.

not serious anymore and the last thing i have to say: i imagine junho grew up (physically) very fast as a kid but sort of stagnated for a very long time. like when he was eleven he grew up Quick so he looked like a lanky 15 year old when he was very young. but he Stayed looking like a lanky 15 year old until like his 20s. this also applies to canon so imagine him looking like a high schooler while he's in the police academy. this is part of the reason i imagine inho feels so strongly about him bc like that's his Baby Brother. literally just a few years before the cliff he still looked like a kid. he's still a kid in inho's mind.

this means every time i talk about little junho he's like 5'7 LMAO. give it a few inches and he'll be inho's height. tall ass fucking twelve year old dude. but it takes quite a while for him to grow past 5'9. he's like 25 when he gets taller than inho. and then he starts filling out so he's not lanky anymore and is instead hoooohovvkkfkfkgkoaifkgsdlhgs wow hey guys wi ha joon right. hello

Ok so here goes…

So it starts out pretty normal you’re a crew member of the Aroura that manages to escape the crash and ends up on planet 4546B working hard on surviving and finding a way to get home.

One day while out exploring, you stumble across the most beautiful thing you've ever seen. It vaguely resembles some kind on animal skin and the texture is that akin to fur but the way it catches the light and how it moves when you turn it this way and that it's almost like scales. It’s a deep iridescent black that always seems to be shifting in colour. 

You decided to take it with you.

Later that evening after you have successfully returned to your base and are putting all of your supplies away. When your attention once again returns to the mysterious pelt, after multiple failed attempts at scanning it and the results coming back inconclusive. you're at very least able to determine that it's not in any way dangerous. So you decided to use it as a blanket. Its soft enough after all and you could do with some new bedding so that night you go to sleep with it.

The next day you are both shocked and horrified to find that you are no longer human. After some awkward wriggling and accidently falling down a small set of ladders your finally able to reach the nearest reflective surface to see what exactly has happened to you.

To your surprise you see a seal like creature staring back at you after confirming that it is in fact you (this involves doing a series of silly movements to see if it will copy). You immediately start freaking out and it takes a good few hours before you finally manage to calm down. it's during this time you find that you’ve grown incredibly hungry and without any way to access your storage (cuz the lack of opposable thumbs) you resolve to venture out and find something to eat instead.

Using your moon pool your able to gain easy access to the open ocean and while on the hunt you begin to discover the certain advantages your new form has. For one you’re a much faster swimmer and are able to hold your breath for increasing long periods of time. Two you discover that your new skin has the ability to dazzle and stun prey drawing them in, before your easily able to finish them off and you also find out that it also the ability to camouflage after one close call involving a stalker.

After spending the day in your new form you gradually grow to enjoy it however you still want to turn back into your original self. As night begins to fall you make your way back to your base fully prepared to spend the night on the floor as there is no way you're going to be able to get up the ladder to your bed. But it's while you're getting comfortable ready to go to sleep that you suddenly feel a shift and after some wriggling your finally able to shed the skin and return to your human self. Happy but also completely drain from today you put the pelt in storage and head to bed deciding to deal with it all tomorrow.

Meanwhile your time as an alien seal didn't go unnoticed as you've unknowingly managed to attract the attention of two of the local apex predators.

Sun and moon both witnessed the aroura crash. Living within the kelp forest they both got a front row view of the crash and the subsequent chaos that followed.

Over the course of the next few days they end up finding a bunch of the escape pods. All of which have been abandoned or partially destroyed. And at first they're curious, trying to figure out what these strange things are but after a certain point they eventually lose interest. Going back to their normal daily routine and focusing on more important things. 

That is until your arrival in the safe shallows. Sun is the first one to spot you. He was out hunting, following a stay peeper as he chased it through the kelp forest and into the safe shallows when he comes across your newly constructed base. At first he is content to just ignore it for now, more focused on filling his belly with an afternoon snack than exploring. But then his attention is immediately caught when he sees seal you emerge from the moon pool.

He's never seen anything quite like you before but one things for sure he is extremely curious. He quickly hides behind some rocks so he can watch you further. And for the next few hours he watches, silently stalking you from a distance as you try to get your bearings and explore the safe shallows for yourself, before eventually returning to your base.

He immediately goes to tell Moonie about you. And later that evening they both return to investigated your base and to see if they can spot you again as sun really wants to show moon "the creature with the pretty scales". Unfortunately, they have no such luck but that doesn’t stop them from coming back again and again.

Taking turns through the night and day, to observe you from a distance as they try and figure out a good way to approach you. They are even more surprised to see an equally strange creature (you in human form) leave your base one day. And it's only after a few more days of watching do they eventually realise that you are one in the same.

Leaving them even more curious and eager to finally meet you.
