...I promise to you all, this was supposed to be a sweet doodle of them just dancing. But then I realized how similar the pose I chose was to the one in the Owl's comic... and so the second drawing was born-

Also, fun fact! These drawings were made with my non-dominant hand because my main wrist still kind of hurts. It took four hours to draw these because I had to draw all my lines so slowly with max stabilization on my brush. I honestly don't know how I got this done, I feel like I got possessed again /lh

Anyways, we need to break the dance curse with these two, so have this old doodle of them dancing that I made a few days ago (I drew this one with my dominant hand, this was before my wrist died):

I always worry that I've heaped on too many problems and too much trauma onto Miles.

That said, he does have frequent nightmares about everything that happened during The Night of Flames. He remembers the moment of his death -- rather, he remembers the blade slicing into his neck, then there was nothing. Well, nothing until a point when he could very vaguely, very distantly begin to feel, see, and hear things around him. The problem is that these things were all very distant and disjointed, with no context to it. No context, no understanding; just flashes of vaguely-discernable figures of Ifrit and Phoenix, sounds coming in and out of consciousness, and of course the pain of his neck mending itself and the heat of the flames everywhere.

Memo to self: write more headcanon posts later about the impact that night had on him, both physically and psychologically.

I sure did! I love this Cage path so much, it's so sweet and beautiful. Like, just look at the smile she gives you after this moment.

There is a single reason that Kiss the Cage is not about the unarmed path: if I wrote it about that one, it would just be retreading the entirety of the path until they say 'Only one thing left to do' and then the picked option would be ⋅ Kiss the Princess. The mutual decapitation route, on the other hand, made for a much bigger challenge to write and a much more interesting story since it let me go lots of new places we didn't see in game.
