heartnosehalloween day 26: folklore vs creepypasta

because this is such a broad category, i was kinda stuck on this one. i was thinking about it while scrolling youtube shorts when i came across one of those cool doll makeover videos and got the perfect idea

i tried to find videos from different channels so i could showcase a bunch of different artists, all of whom are very talented. all the gifs are made by me but i take no credit for the amazing dolls. the links embedded in the hearts link to the videos i got the gifs from if you want to check out any of the artists’ channels

MURDER DRONES MYTHICAL CREATURE AU

After lots of idea tossing with @kalpeavaris we decided on the Absolute Solver being an ancient deity (of unspecified gender) whose physical body was slaughtered by their old following/cult. Its presence remains as a spirit in its old cathedral, waiting for its long lost kin to help it fulfill a prophecy... >:]

This version of the AS can influence people with special enchanted jewelry, and certain emblems are more dangerous/controlling than others. Let's just say it has a very special jewel for Cyn to wear

(the amount of jewelry worn can affect others too, so Cyn may or may not get dripped up later)

Here's some rough concepts and exploration art i did!!

On Christmas, Henry went to go visit his mother's grave to wish her a happy holiday. Imagine his surprise when he found a bear cub underneath her willow tree, Henry quickly picked the little one up and spent hours trying to find where his mother was, knowing how protective mama bears could be.

It wasn't until after a few minutes of looking did he begin to take notice of the cub's appearance, his tail was longer than normal and he had rather unique eyes and front paws. After cutting his search for the day for the mother bear he came back to Tidmouth sheds for the Christmas gathering. It wasn't until Boco and Mavis started to act strange did it start to click to Henry what this cub actually was.

He wasn't holding an actual animal, he was holding a were-bear child.
