‘’Come a little closer’’
It’s been a while, but I’m back with another @challengingwords prompt! I didn’t plan on not posting for so long but school and my health had a different opinion... anyways, I hope you enjoy this short thingie!
Tumblr media
Pairing: Wooyoung x reader
Genre: fluff, established relationship
Words: 431
Prompts: ‘’Come a little closer’’ from cwc25 + ‘’You’ve got to be kidding me’’ from cwc14
You just loved evenings like this one. Being sprawled on the couch under the biggest and fluffiest blanket you've had, munching on savory and sweet snacks while watching that one movie you've had seen a thousand times and somehow never got tired of it. And, of course, your favorite person, Wooyoung, sitting next to you with an arm over your shoulders.
You put another piece of chocolate into your mouth while staring directly at the screen. It hadn't escaped your notice that your boyfriend had been more focused on you than on the movie for quite some time, but you knew that it was one of his ways to get your attention without actually asking for it; therefore, you played oblivious.
Yet minutes passed, and Wooyoung still hadn't turned his eyes back to the tv, even at the climax of the movie. You started thinking that maybe something was bothering him, and after a short inner-discussion with yourself, you decided to finally stop pretending and find out.
"Hey, you alright?" you asked.
"Yeah," he replied almost immediately, not bothering to look away from your face. "why?"
"You're staring, Woo."
Wooyoung was very forward and confident with his actions, and that's a thing that didn't change depending on his mood. Usually, you would consider this a good trait as you sometimes lacked confidence yourself, but at that moment, it was starting to make you feel confused and flustered.
"It's just," he spoke after a short while of silence. "I think you have something on your face."
Well, that wasn't exactly what you had expected to hear.
You quickly grabbed a wipe from the table (both of you knew that either was going to spill something at some point) and rubbed each part of your face in turn, asking if it was gone every few seconds. You cursed yourself for choosing chocolate over the other, less messy treats.
When your skin began turning red from the friction, Wooyoung took the paper from your hand.
"Come a little closer." you obeyed and leaned in as he took a closer look at the stain, squinting his eyes and visibly trying to fight the smile creeping on his face. "Ah, my bad. It's just your beauty..."
You fell back on the back of the couch with a loud groan, but not loud enough to drown out Wooyoung's resounding laughter.
"You've got to be kidding me!" you smacked his arm. "I missed the end of the movie because of you!"
He grabbed the hurt place with his other hand, but the wide smile never left his face.
"I love you!"

― ― → “come a little closer”
pairing: moonbin (astro) x (reader) description: soft fluff, even though that mv was anything but fluff. submission for prompt #25 of challenging words. @challengingwords
Tumblr media
The bar sits nestled between two building which must have been grand in their day. Their large store front windows displaying an array of everything one must have but didn’t need. Boards cover the windows of one. The other's while dingy offer a view of naked mannequins, their faces continuing to smile at you despite their loss of limb and the dust coating them. You shiver as you walk by.
The door of the bar gleams with a new coat of paint and the hardware glints with fresh polish. The mannequins are the only witness as you open it. The rich smell of wood teases your noise as you walk down the narrow hall towards a distant light. Shadows surround you as a gentle hum of music pulls you forward.
Another shiver threatens to shake you, but you roll you shoulder back and raise your head as you exit the hall. You squint in the flood of light. When your eyes adjust, you find the bar keeper staring at you, an empty glass in his hand. He is cleaning the glass, his muscles rippling with the movement.
You shake yourself and avert your gaze. You didn't come here to gawk at the bar keeper. You came here for Sanha, and glancing around the room, you find him passed out on a table in the far corner. As you approach, you call out his name, softly. Loud noise would be an insult to the bar.
Sanha remains unaware even as you shake his shoulder and whisper his name into his ear. Smothering a rising panic, you search for another patron who might be able to carry him to the door while you wait for a taxi. The panic threatens to immobilize you as you realize everyone within the bar mirrors Sanha. Only the bar tender meets your eyes. He continues to clean glasses as he watches you.
"What happened to my friend?" Your voice shatters the silence. No one wakes, but a sense of shame creeps across your skin. You grit your teeth against it. Sanha needs you.
The bar tender places the glass on the counter and crooks a finger, beckoning you forward. You step towards him before sense captures your legs and holds you firm by Sanha's side.
"Come a little closer." He whispers, his voice soft and velvet smooth and far more appropriate to the bar's atmosphere. Taking a deep breath, you force your feet forward until you stand in front of him. The bar keeper offers a simple smile. "Your friend is fine." His voice is the same as when he first spoke, but this close the words wrap around you drawing you closer to him.
Clearing your throat clears your head, and you step back. "What happened to him?"
The bar tender slides the glass along the counter until it rests before you. "He came in asking for help, and I helped him." Pulling a bottle from below the counter, he fills the glass two fingers.
"How is letting him get passed-out-drunk helping him?”
Another bottle appears on the counter. This one no bigger than your thumb and topped with a dropper. The man removes the dropper and allows three amber beads to fall into the waiting glass. They ripple across the surface, and you watch them until they disappear.
“Your friend isn’t drunk.” Your attention snaps from the glass. “He is sleeping, but by his choosing.” He smiles again and pushes the cocktail towards you. “People come to me when rest is no longer restful, and I help them find peace again.”
The drink sits on the counter its surface as smooth as a mirror pane. You step forward and catch yourself in it. The you within the glass stares back, head titled examining. With a nod, that you draws you forward, and you reach for the glass. The liquid within remains still holding your reflection as your bring the drink to your lips.
You have no memory of the drinks taste or what came next. You wake to Sanha shaking your shoulder. The last tendrils of sleep slip from your mind, and you realize you feel rested, truly rested like a child waking from a nap revived and ready to conquer anything. Sanha smiles, and you see the same restfulness reflected in his smile. He reaches for your hand, and you give it.
As Sanha leads you out, you glance to the bar tender. He smiles too. Weariness tugs at its corners and weighs down his eyes, but he nods to you and grabs a glass to clean.

Structure of a spliceosome remodelled for exon ligation
The spliceosome excises introns from pre-#mRNAs in two sequential transesterifications—branching and exon ligation—catalysed at a single catalytic metal site in U6 small nuclear #RNA (sn#RNA). Recently reported structures of the spliceosomal C complex with the cleaved 5′ exon and lariat–3′-exon bound to the catalytic centre revealed that branching-specific factors such as Cwc25 lock the branch helix into position for nucleophilic attack of the branch adenosine at the 5′ splice site. Furthermore, the ATPase Prp16 is positioned to bind and translocate the intron downstream of the branch point to destabilize branching-specific factors and release the branch helix from the active site. Here we present, at 3.8 Å resolution, the cryo-electron microscopy structure of a Saccharomyces cerevisiae spliceosome stalled after Prp16-mediated remodelling but before exon ligation. While the U6 sn#RNA catalytic core remains firmly held in the active site cavity of Prp8 by proteins common to both steps, the branch helix has rotated by 75° compared to the C complex and is stabilized in a new position by Prp17, Cef1 and the reoriented Prp8 RNase H-like domain. This rotation of the branch helix removes the branch adenosine from the catalytic core, creates a space for 3′ exon docking, and restructures the pairing of the 5′ splice site with the U6 sn#RNA ACAGAGA region. Slu7 and Prp18, which promote exon ligation, bind together to the Prp8 RNase H-like domain. The ATPase Prp22, bound to Prp8 in place of Prp16, could interact with the 3′ exon, suggesting a possible basis for #mRNA release after exon ligation. Together with the structure of the C complex, our structure of the C* complex reveals the two major conformations of the spliceosome during the catalytic stages of splicing. http://bit.ly/2lkoXs9 #nature #npg
