Dandelion is tortured by Rience near the start of Blood of Elves. (It's something I think about relentlessly. It's a moment that shows his insecurity around his friendship with Geralt and I don't honestly know if Geralt knows it happened. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) the thought Geralt has no idea about it, no idea that Dandelion suffered for him nor knows how Dandelion internally feels like he's failed him, like he's not good enough eats away at me when I read every single interaction after in which Geralt treats him like his 'silly little friend Dandelion who lucks his way out of everything and has not a care in the world apart from his own ego, drink and sex." Perhaps I'll make a whole post one day about Dandelion and his insecurities.)

To the point. I know Dandelion definitely does know that Geralt isn't from Rivia, I'm just not sure if we are told when he finds this out. It's discussed in this part of Baptism of Fire:

I could literally sit and analyse this interaction. I love it so so dearly. I love The Hanza with my whole heart so I love all their interactions but this one really says a lot about each character.

(Also think it helps add to the headcanon about linking Rivia with Yorkshire stemming from the English translation audio books. Though I dont personally headcanon him to have that specific Yorkshire accent. He sounded like someone you'd meet in my local pub, it was jarring to hear. I also can't imagine him saying "now then" or other dialect )

I know Geralts voice (or rather I think) is rather strange and unusual. I read him as autistic, the fact he picked up a Rivian accent despite not being Rivian is one of the many things on my list to support this headcanon. As an autistic person myself I'm constantly questioned on my voice for it sounding unusual and unfitting to the region.

I definitely think Dandelion would've picked up on Geralt not being from Rivia with his accent. Although I also don't think Geralt is particularly set on insisting to people he's definitely from Rivia, though I can't imagine many people are going to bother to stop and ask a Witcher where he's from. If there were a person to do that, it would most certainly be Dandelion.

some tea recipes

if you like tea rituals or giving tea offerings, then this post is for you! keep in mind, though, DEFINITELY do your research on any of the herbs/plants I've listed here if you've never put them in your body before. there's no harm in making substitutions or omitting certain things for the sake of your own health. i've gone ahead and highlighted some herbs that have potential side effects (although not everything i've highlighted may effect you, and not everything i haven't is for sure safe).

also, all of these teas can be made with one of those little tea strainer balls, or with a good mesh sieve. either way, have some way of removing the mix after it's steeped, because over-steeped tea can get sour. store any leftover tea mix in an airtight container in a cool, dry place

if you need to replace any fresh ingredients with dried, divide the quantity in half. also, some of the floral teas will seem like it's a lot of mix just for one cup, but petals just aren't as strong as leaves/roots/etc.

CLEAR SKIES TEA

Ingredients: 1/2 cup dried peppermint, 1/4 cup marigold petals, 2 stalks of finely chopped lemongrass, 2 tsps orange zest, 1 tsp ground ginger Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes, use 1-2 tsps for 1 cup

EVERYDAY MORNING TEA

Ingredients: 1 rooibos tea bag, a thin slice of lemon/or a little bit of juice, two thin slices of ginger, 3 cloves (or 3/4 tsp of ground clove), top with a few lemon balm or spearmint leaves after steeping Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes to make 1 cup

COTTAGE TEA

Ingredients: 1 cup earl grey leaves, 1/4 cup dried lavender, 2 tbsps each of cornflower and sunflower petals, add a couple vanilla seeds or extract in each cup Extra Instructions: steep for 3 minutes, use 1-2 tsps to make 1 cup

GROUNDING TEA

Ingredients: 2 tsps/1 bag of black tea (assam or darjeeling is best), 2 tsps/1 bag of chamomile tea, 2 tsps elderflowers, add a pinch of lemongrass and a few vanilla seeds/a couple drops of extract to each cup Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes, makes 2 cups

CALMING TEA

Ingredients: 1 cup lemon balm leaves, 1/2 cup valerian root (I use lavender instead), 1/2 cup rose geranium petals, 1/2 cup chamomile flowers, 1/2 cup comfrey leaves (or nettle leaf) Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes to make 6 cups

GODDESS TEA

Ingredients: 1 tsp each of hibiscus petals, marigold petals, rose petals, and thyme leaves Extra Instructions: steep 5 minutes, makes 1-2 cups

TEA FOR FAIRIES

Ingredients: 2 cups dried chamomile flowers, 1 cup green tea leaves, 1 cup lemon balm leaves, 1 cup calendula, 1/4 cup of rose petals Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes, use 2 tsps to make 1 cup

DANDELION DIVINATION TEA

Ingredients: 1 tbsp fresh dandelion petals (although you can use the full flowers), 1 tbsp fresh marigold, top with a lemon/orange slice after steeping Extra Instructions: steep for 5 minutes to make 1 cup

ROSE VERBENA TEA

Ingredients: 1 cup Chinese green tea, 1/2 cup rose petals, 1/4 cup dried lemon verbena leaves Extra Instructions: use 1-2 tsps for 1 cup. steep for anywhere from 3-10 minutes (3 is best for the tea, 10 is best for flowers)

FULL MOON RITUAL TEA

Ingredients: 2 tsps dried elderflower, 2 tsps dried lavender, 1 jasmine tea bag, 1/2 tsp dried yarrow leaves (or can use elderflower), 3 crushed cardamom pods Extra Instructions: steep for 5 minutes, makes 2 cups

GREEN SPIRIT TEA

Ingredients: 2 tsps/1 bag green tea, 1 tbsp dried rose petals, 1 tsp each dried dandelion petals and dried nettle Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes, makes 2 cups

APOTHECARY'S BREW

Ingredients: 2 cups dried echinacea, 2 cups dried chamomile flowers, 1 cup dried mint leaves, 1 cup dried anise seeds, 1 cup dried thyme leaves Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes, use 1-2 tsps for 1 cup

ROMANTIC TEA

Ingredients: 2 tsps/1 bag white tea, 4 tsps rose petals, 2 tsps each raspberry leaf and lemon balm leaves (can substitute jasmine and mint for these), add a couple vanilla seeds/drops of extract in each cup after steeping Extra Instructions: steep for 5 minutes, makes 2 cups

MAGIC REALISATION TEA

Ingredients: 1/2 cup dried borage flowers, 1/2 cup dried thyme leaves, 1/4 cup dried dandelion, 1 tsp each fennel seeds and ground coriander, 1/2 tsp ground ginger Extra Instructions: steep for 10 minutes, use 1-2 tsps for 1 cup

FAIRY CIRCLE TEA

Ingredients: 2 cups dried chamomile flowers, 1 cup dried lemon balm or mint leaves, 1/2 cup dried calendula petals, 1/4 cup dried rose petals Extra Instructions: steep for 5 minutes, use 1 tbsp for 1 cup

JASMINE JOY TEA

AURORA TEA

Hey Gourmand! Can you share some intresting cake recipe?

"As you might imagine, we don't exactly make cakes very often. It's difficult, it's time consuming, it requires a lot of resources, and they're not something you can keep around, in the long term.

But naturally, we still tend experiment here and there.

Firstly, you will have to go one of the old cities, and find some tools. The most of important are the ovens, and thankfully, they're everywhere. Turns out, the iterators produce a ton of heat quite easily. Now, for the ingredients, you have the mandatory ones for the dough, like flour or sugar - for which, you have machines that'll create those for you, so long as bring them the plants. The old constructs also take care of the milk and butter, and you don't even have to bring anything to them! I have a feeling I know why, buuut… that's not what here's here to talk about. And for the eggs, you just catch some Eggbugs. Don't look for Noodlefly Eggs, I promise it'll not be worth it.

It's really not necessary to add anything to the dough, and most things don't actually work that well. The one thing I like doing with it, however, is grating some Popcorn Plant into it. I wouldn't recommend it, if you don't want to have some seeds ending up in your cake, but I'd say it's worth it, for the taste. And if you want to give it a lighter feel, while giving it an extra special flavor, you can squeeze some Dandelion Peach into it. Combine that with the Popcorn, and you get something really great!

As for the icing, you have machines that'll make them for ya. Just get it some sugar, butter, milk, and an extract of your choice. The flowers of the Outer Expanse are by far the best here, but if you want, you can also bring in the Dandelion Peaches here, too - as they're a bit of a safer choice, thanks to their more mild taste.

Aaaaand that's it! It's a bit of a complex process, and there's many things I didn't mention, as I didn't want to drag this out even further. But if you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer!"

dandelion elixir in progress! picked from a local friends farm, wilted to free the bugs, and processed into petals. from there i added them to jars and poured local & manuka honey and 70% alcohol over them using the simpler’s method, respectively. i used 70% alcohol to offset the moisture of the petals, though you could probably get away with 40%. i plan to flip the jar of honey over and shake the tincture every day for a month to ensure a good extraction. i plan to combine the strained products together into an elixir and save some leftover tincture and honey to keep separate. updates to come!

the flower of dandelion is exhilarant, meaning it uplifts the mood! as an elixir with its sweet taste, the medicine is even sweeter on the soul! dandelion as a whole plant is stimulating to the liver and the flowers, while weaker than the root in this way, still convey an effect on the liver. the leaves are a diuretic as well as nutritive, replenishing the minerals lost through urination unlike traditional allopathic diuretics the roots make a wonderful alterative coffee substitute, effectively cleansing the blood. the whole plant is edible, flowers, leaves, roots and all!

i would not recommend internal use of this plant (leaves and roots, i’m less worried about petals) if you take diuretics as it can have a potentiating effect and can potentially stress your kidneys as well as be very dehydrating. avoid using this plant if you take lithium especially, as it can change serum levels of lithium, thus altering its effectiveness and can have mood impacts. if you choose to use this herb when taking these medicines, first and foremost talk to your doctor! also monitor yourself closely and discontinue use if you experience changes in symptoms, urine output, symptoms of dryness (dry mouth, eyes, skin) or experience mid back pain. this post is not to be considered as medical advice.

Future AU

Future/Modern AU idea i had that doesnt have a set name.

tldr: Modern version of Teyvat. Vision Holders reincarnate with their past memories (some remember less then others) and create a club where all vision holders can meet, Including the deceased archons. Except Venti had never died, and has used his powers to project a false body and live as human.

-everything in canon happens, only ending with celestica being overthrown and the abyss destroyed.

-during the battle, some of the archons die, such as the tsaritsa, pyro archon, ect.

-Ei, Zhongli and Venti are the only survivors of the archons. 

-with the gnosis gone, they now have access to all their powers that the gnosis blocked off (the gnosis limited their powers to exclusively their element)

-time passes and both Ei and Zhongli die within 500 years. Zhongli due to erosion, and ei due to the corruption she sustained during the battle.

-Venti continues to live, as the wind itself can never die, especially now that he has access to his original powers given to him by his mother, Istaroth.

- Centuries pass, Teyvat evolves into something that mimics the modern day, cities with sprawling towers surrounded by temples and native species.

-Multiple churches of Favonius have popped up throughout the years now that people live more spread out across Mondstat, with the main city and Dormans port being the only ones to mimic modern cities, and even then only slightly.

-underground, beneath the original church, Venti rests. In his archon form having multiple wings, some being butterfly wings, bird wings, crystal fly wings, ect. A halo surrounds his head with closed eyes. His hair has grown out significantly, however his braids are still intact.

-where he sleeps is like an underground forest, with many animals and plants that have gone extinct during Teyvat growth, living freely below. Venti sits on a throne of plants, mimicking clouds in appearance, alongside dandelions and Cecelias.

-it’s been 5000 years since the final battle, and during that time, sometimes Venti would extract a part of himself to continue to live as a human. He does this throughout the generations. During the modern day, he is a wildly famous pop star.

-suddenly, characters from the game start to reincarnate, with their past memories! 

-there’s a ‘club’ of people who remember their past lives, where they can meet up and reunite. It’s discovered here that those who reincarnate are vision bearers.

-at some point, some reincarnated vision users determine that the popstar Venti is the reincarnated version of their bard venti (these people didn't know he was an archon.)

-they manage to get into contact with Venti and he's super happy to see his friends again after centuries! The other archons seemed to have not reincarnated, or atleast have not been found.

-those who knew Venti was an archon confront him in private, to which Venti replies that he never died.

-they're confused, and ask for context, Venti avoids the questions.

-slowly the club grows to include every reincarnated vision user, even the reincarnated archons (who are humans now, but with powers they’re unaware of)
