Michael: Do you have a favourite episode from the new season or moment / scene, if it's not too much of a spoiler to share?

David: Well, I have a favourite line from Season Two.

Michael: Do you?

David: Yeah, it's in Episode Two. And the line is, 'I am Jemimah, I made this pot'. That's my favourite line from Season Two.

Michael [laughing]: Yeah. Oh, my goodness. Yeah.

"My nerve curve was pretty exponential because I wasn't - unlike Michael - I didn't really know the world of, the fandom of the book, somehow it had passed me by," he said, in an interview alongside Sheen before the actors' strike was announced.

Sheen interjects, asking his co-star: "And how's your nerve curve now?"

"I'm pretty chill," says Tennant.

“I saw it the other day, it looks marvellous," Sheen replies.

Question: And in the meantime, you were still working together. You were doing Staged. So do you guys just love to work together?

David: That's all we are going to do now.

Michael: Yeah.

David: It's contractual. Yeah.

Michael: Yeah. Neil Gaiman made us sign a contract in blood.

David: And that's it forever now.

Michael: Yeah.

Interviewer (referring to Michael): Does the shorthand and trust the two of you have built up now enable you to take more risks on-screen?

David: Yes, probably. I suppose the more you know someone, the more you trust someone. You don’t have to worry about how an idea might be received and you can help each other out with a more honest opinion than might be the case if you were, you know, dancing around each other’s nervous egos. Enjoying being in someone’s orbit and company is a positive experience. It makes going to work feel pleasant, productive, and creative. The more creative you can be, the better the work is. I don’t think it’s necessarily a given that an off-screen relationship will feed into an on-screen one in a positive or negative way. You can play some very intimate moments with someone you barely know. Acting is a peculiar little contract, in that respect. But it’s disproportionately pleasurable going to work when it’s with a mate.
