It always amused and excited Dream when he saw his mating marks. On a trip with his mates to find the freshest berries for Niki's cake, he'd stopped by a gently flowing stream to wash some of the sweat from his face. After splashing his skin in the icy cold water, he paused to see his reflection slowly reform in the ripples.

On the right side of his neck, a ring of discolored punctures was still healing from the night a certain wolf hybrid renewed his claim. On the left, a more shallow circle with two particularly deep incisions. That one had taken a bit of convincing. Techno was always so cautious with him, even when Dream was begging to be railed until the sun came up.

He shivered upon feeling along the bites, instantly taken back to the moments each were made.

Just a few nights ago, Punz was idly nuzzling his scent gland when he noticed the mark starting to fade. They'd whined about it like a kid who lost his favorite toy, bottom lip stuck out and ears downcast. His begging face, although he insisted he had no such thing. Dream could never deny such cuteness. (Not to mention his own sadness over noticing it fade.)

They had licked at his neck like he was drawing the boundaries before easily sinking their sharp canine teeth into his flesh. He remained there for a minute, ensuring Dream's body never quite forgot the impression. Then they'd carefully let go, leaving a clean picture of perfect penetrations. Despite how he tried to lap away all the blood, some still spilled on Dream's hoodie and soaked the lime green a deep crimson. Luckily, Punz had plenty of experience getting blood out of clothes.

Techno had been there with him in the prison, had witnessed the aftermath firsthand of an unwanted claiming. Desperate and distressed, all Dream wanted was to replace the wretched mark. Of course, Techno refused.

He held Dream's face, looked him directly in his teary eyes, and said he'd never take advantage of him like that. All Dream did was cry on his shoulder for hours while Techno held him.

At the time, it filled Dream with all manner of self-deprecating thoughts. He convinced himself it was because Techno hated him, disgusted by the idea of claiming a 'ruined' omega. He knew better now. Techno was never the type to push him into anything, taking extra caution to make sure Dream truly reciprocated. In fact, he didn't stake his claim until Dream claimed him first.

Glancing up from his reflection, Punz and Techno stood on the other side of the stream under one of the large spruce trees.

The wolf hybrid was saying something he couldn't quite make out while Techno collected some of the sap bleeding from a hole in the trunk. If Dream squinted, he could see the marks he'd made on his mates. With his normal human teeth, the marks faded quicker than theirs, but that just meant Dream got to mark them more.

"Ya almost done over there, nerd?" Techno called to him, startling the dirty blond.

"Yeah! Coming!" Dream wiped any last bit of dirt from his skin before picking himself up. He hopped over the narrow stream and jogged over to his mates.

"Are you trying to catch hypothermia? You need to dry off or you'll get icicles on cheeks." Punz used their sleeve to catch all the droplets running down Dream's face, a disapproving frown on his lips.

"Okay, okay, Mom. My bad," Dream teased, grinning at him.

They scoffed and rolled their eyes despite the smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "C'mon. We promised Niki we'd be back soon."

"We getting close to the bushes you saw, Techno?" The admin glanced to the piglin hybrid, finding him busy with securing a cloth over the cup of sap in his hand.

"Yeah, just a ways ahead now. We'll just get enough for the cake. Don't worry take away from the wildlife."

The blonds nodded in agreement, following when he started off deeper into the forest. Dream took his place between them, hands naturally intertwining with theirs. He couldn't wait to get back home and enjoy their one year anniversary surrounded by friends, warmth, and, of course, some delicious cake.

They won’t honour their agreement.’ ‘I don’t want a place in their camp,’ Nico snarled. ‘Or in yours. When this war is over, I’m leaving both camps for good.’ Will Solace made a sound like he’d been punched. ‘Why would you do that?’ Nico scowled. ‘It’s none of your business, but I don’t belong. That’s obvious. No one wants me. I’m a child of –’

‘Oh, please.’ Will sounded unusually angry. ‘Nobody at Camp Half-Blood ever pushed you away. You have friends – or at least people who would like to be your friend. You pushed yourself away. If you’d get your head out of that brooding cloud of yours for once –’ ‘Enough!’ Octavian snapped. ‘Di Angelo, I can beat any offer the Greeks could make. I always thought you wouldmake a powerful ally. I see the ruthlessness in you, and I appreciate that. I can assure you a place in New Rome. All you have to do is step aside and allow the Romans to win. The god Apollo has shown me the future –’

‘No!’ Will Solace shoved Nico out of the way and got in Octavian’s face. ‘I am a son of Apollo, you anaemic loser. My father hasn’t shown anyone the future, because the power of prophecy isn’t working. But this –’ He waved loosely at the assembled legion, the hordes of monstrous armies spread across the hillside. ‘This is not what Apollo would want!’

While Will was rightfully angry at Octavian because he pulled all of that shit,trying to justify himself with "Apollo wanted this" and Will was not having any of it,he also started rebelling against his words only after Octavian tried to make Nico join him.

Bro was both angry that a fake tried to kill them all,but also jealous because that same bitch was trying to stole the guy he probably already liked at time. Take this from Will prospective: the guy you likes or wants to be friend with for months is finally talking to you,you are having conversations even tho you are bickering in the middle of a mission,and the same guy that started all the problems and is acting like he has a close connection to your dad (Octavian is a distant descendant and probably doesn't even have the gift of prophecy as has been said),tries to take him away?? Will was not having it. He was so ready to fight Octavian on the spot and Nico would have let him.

They were fighting for him for a split second there,for different reasons since Will wanted to be his friend (if he already didn't had a crush on him) while Octavian wanted to use him for his powers of course,but still fighting for him. And Nico was so clueless of Will's feeling for him and thought he would be disgusted by him after Octavian's death.

Bro,what are you thinking about? Will probably wanted him more gone that you ever wanted. The fact he was so natural about his death was even more funny. Stop overthinking Nico,Will was already plotting how to end him himself,otherwise he wouldn't have called you knowing you were ready to jump at him.

I think people need to understand that 'fakers' are a much smaller issue to disabled people than 'fake claimers'

First of all a lot of people who 'fake' mental illness/neurodivergance are not 'faking it', they may not be neurodivergent/have a specific mental illness but most of the time they think they have do.

Faking normally implies a degree of awareness or malice but a lot are just relating to things that they are not fully informed of and coming to the conclusion that they are neurodivergen/disabled. Who/what does this effect?

Not a lot. There may be some misinformation (which obviously isn't good) but nothing overtly harmful to disabled people. To access any degree of accommodation you need a diagnosis so people aren't taking anything away because they will be denied.

And yes there are those select few people who do have awareness and malice in what they are doing, often to illicit sympathy and get money. It is these types of people who fake a physical disability in addition to mental and neurodivergence. But these are very rare.

Fake claimers however, are far more common and pervasive.

They are everywhere, they do it to actually disabled people. It is very disturbing to see in real life.

I have genuinely had strangers come up to me and say that I don't actually need my cane and try and take it off me. My own family members have taken my cane away from me and left me until they brought it back. I have had people tell me that when they push me and I fall that I made myself fall over. I have had people tell me that because I was able to hold onto my cane as they tried to take it away from me that I am lying about needing pencil grips. This is actively harmful.

And it not only happens with the people around you but with those there to help disabled people.

Due to personal bias there are professionals who say that you dont look disabled/autistic/neurodivergent/etc just because you do not present in a certain way (particularly with neurodivergent people who are denied for not being a 6 year old boy because that's how they think its 'supposed' to look).

Women and people of colour have been denied and misdiagnosed with conditions like hysteria, Bpd and anxiety disorders or, if it is physical, stress, hormones, periods, etc in place of the disability they actually have all because their conditions research was focused on white men/boys.

Ambulatory wheelchair users are told they don't need a wheelchair because they are not paralysed. Ignoring the fact that people use the mobility aid that suits them instead of being denied because they don't 'suit' the mobility aid.

If disability does not look how people initially imagined suddenly its not a disability at all.

It is a systemic and social issue that persists and is made worse by people getting upset over some random girl on tiktok saying she has Adhd.

If you do not like people being ill informed then advocate for education.

Fake claiming is a big part of abelism that we ignore and that needs to change.

I find it so ironically funny when hardcore Debbie defenders use the defense that she was just a victimised teenage girl (agreed) and then proceed to slander Fiona and express their hatred for her character and lack of sympathy

as if being an adult magically absolves an individual of the horrifying trauma that precedes them and screws up their mentality and actions

funnily enough these people get mad at others for "expecting Debbie to be an innocent angel and hating on her for acting out as a result of trauma" (also agreed, debbie does deserve more sympathy, she can't be expected to grow up to be a perfect saint when she's been through so much) yet seem to hold Fiona to the same unattainable standards and put her on a pedestal as if she wasnt a child that was forced to intensely grow up while never actually being raised

like lets put this into perspective and remember that fiona grew up surrounded by corrupt morals and insanely screwed up behaviour yet still emerged as messed up, yes, but surprisingly good considering the situation she was in??? she had to navigate basic things such as morals and being a good, responsible person on her own. imagine how difficult it must be to lead a bunch of kids, including yourself, with no previous role model or good example of your own to follow. most of the time, she always tried to do what she thought was best and would have the most desirable outcome
