It was 1814 when Luigi enlisted in the war, but he knew telling Amma would be harder than any amount of bloodshed waiting for him at the borderlines.

"Why?! Why would you do this?" She yelled, slamming her fists hard against his chest.

He sighed, not moving an inch to defend himself from the blow. "Amma, I've told you. My mother and I need the money." He said patiently.

She lowered her head, unable to meet his gaze. "My uncle was right." She said, thinking back on the argument between her father and her uncle just two years before. "There is no honor in war."

It was at that moment she remembered Luigi's puzzled expression during the argument. Once she realized this was a fight she would never win, she turned on her heel to leave.

"Amma, don't-" Luigi pleaded, reaching out for her. "Please don't leave like this."

For a moment, her eyes faltered, revealing the emotions she was trying to hide behind her anger. But her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at his face, searching for any hint of returned fury. She found only tenderness, which only vexed her further.

He tried to brush his fingers against her cheek, to soothe her with his gentle touch and to plead with reason once more. When it didn't work, he could do only what had worked in the past.

He pressed his mouth against hers, hesitating for any sign of resistance from her. She only relaxed into him, sighing against his lips.

They fell into the grass, onto the blanket they'd spent many nights on. But they'd never kissed each other quite like this before. Every movement was driven by fever to be closer, though somehow it still didn't feel like enough.

"We don't have to." Luigi whispered, suddenly self conscious over his desires.

She bit her lip hesitantly, trying to think of any reason not to. Refusing to believe she was powerless against Luigi's giant chestnut colored eyes looking down at her, she told herself it was the hum of the cicadas from being able to think straight. All she could focus on was the thought that tomorrow he was leaving and the possibility that she could never see him again.

"I want to." She finally said, a tantalizing grin pulling at the corner of her lips. And there in their meadow, they made love for the first time.

1890s Save File :)

It’s been a very long time since I posted on here.. oops. Anyways. I made this save file!

I’m always playing the decades challenge so I re-decorated Henford-on-Bagley to match an 1890-1910s vibe.

Cc free obvi, but a LOT of packs/kits are used. Be warned. I built on all 12 lots. There are 2 empty lots ready to be built on by your sim or two pre-built options by me for your sim to immediately move in.

There are several families/characters (either I downloaded from the gallery or made myself) WITH lore/personalities. I tried to add as much as I could without going crazy and spending too much time on it.

Nectar Override - The Doyle Reserve!

Now your sims can drink Lucile's wines! I've made nectar recolors using the Recolor props I made HERE that I used in some poses.

This is an override that changes the texture for each nectar you can make in TS4! If you have any other mods or CC that override these textures they will conflict.

When I saw @happylifesims latest 1940s dress I was itching to put some patterns on it, so I've gone ahead and recoloured it in a few floral and gingham swatches. I've also added solid swatches in SerendipitySims' Historian palette!

As Amma continued to grow, it became clear early on that she was the type of girl who marched to the beat of her own drum. She was loud and rambunctious; very much the opposite of her well-mannered cousins, which made making friends difficult.

Cian normally managed to keep up with her by having her help tend the chickens, clean the stables, and sweeping up sawdust. It held her attention well enough, and once they were done with their long day of chores, they still had enough time to run around in the yard.

But once the frigid cold began to settle in over the land, Cian needed to prepare them for the winter ahead. He spent his days hunting and gathering firewood, and could no longer spend as much time with his daughter.

It became difficult on Maeve to be Amma's main source of entertainment, even with Cian's mother staying with them. Things like cleaning and cooking didn't seem to hold much interest to Amma. Oftentimes, her mind started to wander and her jabbering jaws would start to flap incessantly.

Eventually, Maeve found her patience growing thinner and she was quick to anger, especially on days when there was so much work to be done. She always regretted taking such a tone with her little girl, and just wished there was another little one around for her to play with.

I could hardly make a medieval revival CC collection and not also do an accompanying lookbook, it's too much of a fun period for fashion. I love the fact that the sartorial whimsy wasn't just reserved for women's clothing either. CC links under the cut.

The Soddy

A CC Free Prairie Homestead

Homesteading and the settlement of the American west has always been a particular interest of mine and recently I've become very interested in sod houses! I toyed with the idea of recreating one in Sims but never had a good world or assets to work with. When I fell into my little building bender a few weeks ago I realized Chestnut Ridge was perfect for it and promptly hyperfixated.

This home is ideal for a couple or small family just trying to make their way in the prairie of Chestnut Ridge. The house can fit up to three sims and a baby or toddler, perhaps a bit snug for our modern standards but perfectly alright for the nineteenth century. Also comes complete with fertile fields, an empty chicken coop, a slightly decrepit horse barn, and a well stocked root cellar.

This house is heavily inspired by Prairie Homestead in South Dakota. When I started kicking around the idea of this build I started googling for reference photos and discovered this very cool historic site. I tried to match this build to its real life counterpart more than I usually do, as the interior that they have set up for that house was just so fun and unique feeling. The exterior is inspired by it, but sim lot constraints required more creative license. I highly recommend you look at some photos, it really is such an interesting place.

Sod houses, which were constructed by cutting hunks of the top layer of the grasslands (which were held together by the strong roots of the native grasses) were common throughout the latter part of the nineteenth century and began to peter out in the early part of the twentieth century. They weren't the most luxurious accommodations, but did have the virtue of being warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Unfortunately as the walls were made from the earth, bugs could be an issue and I've given this lot the creepy crawlies bug challenge for ~realism~. It's also off-the-grid, and has a functional root cellar (meaning I put the fridge down there, have fun in thunderstorms).

This lot is fully playtested (might have been the most I've played in a while actually, I wanted to make sure the crib worked). Please please enjoy this build. I know I always say it but this one is actually my favorite, and making this work with the constraints of Sims 4 terrain tools was quite the undertaking and I'm so pleased with it.

In The Family Way - A Medieval Pregnancy Kit For Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod

I love a good historical gameplay, and I love Pandasama's Realistic Childbirth Mod. However, for obvious reasons that mod is heavily Modern Era™-coded. But I felt as though there were elements to the mod that could be adapted to my favorite kind of gameplay. This little kit is the result of that feeling. Find the items easily by searching for either [scandisim] or Pandasama in Build/Buy. Please keep in mind before reading any further that none of these work without the original mod by Pandasama, will not even show up in game without the original mod, and all credit for the mod and original items goes to them!
