CMC X CAPRI (reader)
Word Count:565
+*:ꔫ:*﹤⋆.ೃ࿔*:・༉‧₊˚.
A Special Visit to Levi's Stadium 🏈
Christian McCaffrey couldn't stop smiling as he carefully secured his three-month-old daughter, Hazel Grace, into her car seat. His wife Capri gave him a knowing look from the passenger seat – she'd seen that same expression of pure joy on his face ever since they welcomed their little girl into the world.
"You sure the guys won't mind us dropping by practice?" Capri adjusted the baby's tiny 49ers beanie, a miniature version of her father's.
"Are you kidding? They've been begging to meet her," Christian chuckled, starting the drive to Levi's Stadium. "Deebo's been sending me dad jokes every day since she was born."
The morning sun cast a warm glow over Santa Clara as they pulled into the players' parking lot. Christian had timed their visit perfectly – the team was just wrapping up their morning practice session. As they walked through the tunnel, Hazel's eyes widened at the vast expanse of the stadium, her tiny hands reaching out toward the sunlight.
"Look who finally decided to grace us with her presence!" George Kittle's booming voice echoed across the field. Before long, a crowd of red and gold jerseys surrounded the family, with Brock Purdy leading the way.
"There's my favorite rookie!" Purdy grinned, making silly faces at Hazel, who responded with a toothless smile. "She's got your eyes, CMC, but definitely Capri's grace."
The offensive line formed a protective circle around the baby, these massive men suddenly transformed into gentle giants. Trent Williams, the team's imposing left tackle, held out his massive hands.
"May I?" he asked softly. Capri carefully placed Hazel in his arms, and the contrast between the tiny infant and the 320-pound lineman made everyone laugh.
Coach Shanahan joined the group, his usual intense game-planning expression melting into a warm smile. "Now this is the kind of team meeting I like to see," he said, watching his players coo and fuss over their teammate's daughter.
The afternoon turned into an impromptu baby photoshoot, with Hazel being passed from teammate to teammate, each insisting on getting a picture with "Little Miss McCaffrey." She wore a custom onesie with "Daddy's MVP" printed on the back, a gift from the equipment staff.
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the field, Christian held his daughter up to face the empty stadium seats. "This is where Daddy plays, sweetheart," he whispered. "Maybe someday you'll be running routes out here too."
Capri wrapped her arms around them both, and for a moment, the family stood in silence, taking in the peaceful quiet of the empty stadium. The field had seen countless touchdowns and victories, but this simple moment – a father sharing his passion with his daughter – felt more significant than any game-winning play.
"Time to head home, little one," Christian said softly as Hazel's eyes began to droop. The team watched as the McCaffreys made their way back through the tunnel, their voices a chorus of goodbyes and promises to babysit.
That evening, as Christian placed his sleeping daughter in her crib, he noticed she was still clutching the tiny football Kittle had given her. He smiled, knowing that while he'd achieved many dreams on the football field, none compared to the joy of being a father. The stadium had witnessed many of his proudest moments, but today's visit would always hold a special place in his heart.

NFC WEST🏈🏉 BREAKDOWN
Kyler Murray and the Cardinals started hot but fizzled out quickly.
Harrison Jr (aside week 2 explosion) has been a rookie growing pains for fantasy.
Connor has been wildly inconsistent.
Kyler himself had been hemming and hawing with Dortch and Michael Wilson instead of targeting the franchise high draft pick.
TE McBride has only just come on lately but that's partly due to this TE enigma trend plaguing the league
Prater was hurt but has been servicable...mostly.
And the defense, not even worth mentioning smh.
The Seahawks have been competitive. Geno for one had probably been the most reliable and consistent QB in fantasy.
Metcalf has been hot & cold but mostly usable. JSN has shown flashes but really has surpassed Lockett.
TEs aren't worth writing home about. Streamers at best.
The darling of the season of the Hawks is Walker. When healthy, he has been the fantasy stud. Zach C. Has been amazing as a handcuff can be producing about the same when Walker is out.
Kicker Myers has been decent.
Defense tho... matchup dependent.
Rams have had it bad. Kupp goes down in week2 and Puka not so long after. This has made Stafford fall in reliability.
TEs aren't matchup dependent and defense is laughable.
We saw a glimpse of the fire power in TNF when the WRs returned in the early week 8 matchup.
Kyrein has being the fantasy darling as he never fails to score in each game
Purdy hasn't looked pretty as of late. The situation worsened when (in the same game) Aiyuk and Deebo went down. Jennings was a waiver wire warrior for fantasy teams. Moody getting hurt sucks. His replacement has missed a few fgs smh. Kittle surprisingly has been one of the top TEs *not just by name*. The CMC injury put teams in a tails pin unless they had or acquired Mason. Mason has been a steal for teams. The defense can be up & down - more so than past seasons. Aiyuk was a disappointment.

Happy for CMC. He deserves that money. This is my opinion only, but he is one of the main reason the 49ers are so successful. There are many instances where he’s been the reason games were won. I have seen that man walk away from games bloodied and bruised.
Completely agree. I still think Deebo is getting traded

rpf monday i totally forgor what other ships do you like!! on the niners and others :D and what do you hc differently in a/b/o fred x brock vs regular canon? sorry if that makes no sense lol
oh my gyatt okay some of these (most) are based on absolutely nothing lmao just keep that in mine but here are some of my favs
jj/koc for SURE they r freaky abt each other banging on the reg, like have you seen the way jj looks at kevin? or the way koc talks abt jj?
pq/zay baby, we only got one season of them together and like literally two interactions lmaoooooooo just look at them ok anyway
listen. there is so much indecipherable lore behind this but demeco ryans and his tiny wide receiver tank dell like meco's bicep is the size of his goddamn head what the actual fuck
i miss wilson^2 soooooo much lowkey wish zach was still on the jets partially for narratives + partially bc it would b funny lol
deebo and christian......... yeah....................
these are just some of the other ships i like, definitely not all of them LOL i dont think i would be able to fit all those into one post
as for your other ask one thing i think is different with regular fred/brock vs omegaverse is their view on kids. like in omegaverse theyre having 80039304930303033 children but irl i dont think they would have any (ignoring that fred literally just had a baby LOL) theyre just cat dads. i also think both of them would be much much more private irl yk cuz you dont have the scenting, claiming, mating dynamics that are present in omegaverse so i actually dont think they would PDA very much. at most hold hands walking into a game, they save the real stuff for at home

The 5 Matchups That Will Define Super Bowl 58
As hard as it is to believe, the NFL’s 104th season is edging toward its conclusion with Super Bowl 58 this afternoon. It seems like just yesterday that 32 teams (well realistically like 24-25) had hopes of chasing Super Bowl Glory. Fast forward to February and 30 teams are now pounding their heads against the wall trying to figure out how the fuck they get to this game.
But we’re not here to talk about the 30 teams left wondering “what if”. We’re here to talk about the last two standing. The ones who can practically taste that Lombardi……well assuming they had licked the trophy at some point, which hey, who the hell knows what goes on behind closed doors! The first Super Bowl in Las Vegas features San Francisco vs Kansas City II, with the contractual details of the trilogy conclusion being ironed out as we speak. While the team colors are familiar, both teams have undergone makeovers on par with Spearmint Rhino’s top stripper entering her 40’s. You've no doubt been inundated with Super Bowl analysis for the past two weeks so we’ll cut to the chase and focus on the five matchups that will determine who wins the fucking Super Bowl!
The Trenches
Yes yes yes, it’s a tale as old as time, but it still rings true to this day. The battle is won in the trenches and the line of scrimmage may be the single biggest factor in determining who hits the Craps Tables and who will simply be leaving Las Vegas.
The Chiefs’ D-Line (most notably Chris Jones) will have its opportunity to feast against anyone not named Trent Williams, who is basically the scariest fucking bouncer in history. On the edges, San Francisco will deploy the reunited Ohio State duo of Nick Bosa and Chase Young against the oft-penalized Donovan Smith and Jawaan Taylor. The interior will feature starters Arik Armstead and Javon Hargrave going toe to toe with Creed Humphrey and Nick Allegreti, the latter of which is filling in for the injured All Pro Left Guard Joe Thuney.
Advantage: San Francisco
SF WRs vs KC DBs
Let’s be honest, Kansas City’s lack of talent at Wide Receiver is probably what makes this a fair fight. The fact that the gauntlet of AFC opponents allowed them to make the Super Bowl THIS YEAR is frankly embarrassing, but we won’t belabor that point. The other side of this matchup presents the far more interesting battles.
Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and oft unsung hero Jauan Jennings will face off against All-Pro Cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and hilariously underrated running mate L’Jarius Sneed, who did not yield a single touchdown in coverage in 2023. San Francisco’s receiving corps against Kansas City’s secondary may very well be the most enticing matchup of Super Bowl 58 and frankly, feels like a bit of a wash. But with San Francisco’s issues on the right side of their O-Line (23rd in pass block efficiency per PFF) combined with a Quarterback playing in his first Super Bowl, it’s hard not to lean towards the secondary here.
Advantage: Kansas City
Fred Warner vs Travis Kelce
The intermediate game offers an equally tantalizing matchup as the best Linebacker in the league will be tasked with holding Kansas City’s most prolific receiver, and one of the greatest Tight Ends of all time in Travis Kelce, in check. Few teams would even dare trust a linebacker mono y mono with the likes of Kelce. But Fred Warner is the best coverage linebacker in the league and is essentially a cheat code on Defense.
We may have said this a time or two already (you try doing this after four stiff margaritas), but this matchup could truly define Super Bowl 58, as inability to connect with 87 could frustrate Mahomes and kill drives, while getting Kelce going early could simultaneously drop the 49ers and Taylor Swift’s panties.
Advantage: The Guy with the rings and the most powerful Pop Star on the planet in his corner
CMC vs the World
Christian McCaffrey in all honesty, was the MVP this year. But because it HAS to be a Quarterback award, that title went to a regular season hero in Lamar Jackson. According to the overwhelming majority of NFL analysts, CMC is the reason Brock Purdy even has a job. And with that comes lofty expectations from both the fans and the opposing defense.
Luckily for San Francisco, that opposing Defense is Kansas City’s 31st ranked Outside Zone Defense. While they will undoubtedly be expecting a hefty dose of McCaffrey, history suggests they won’t have many answers in terms of defending it. If only the actual winner of the MVP award had challenged them on the ground more!
Advantage: San Francisco
Purdy vs Mahomes
The most highlighted matchup of Super Bowl 58 may also be its most lopsided as the last pick in the draft squares off against arguably the best Quarterback the league has ever seen. This is the ultimate David vs Goliath story. Except it’s David w/ Cerebral Palsy vs Goliath on a cocktail of angel dust, steroids, and beaver tranquilizer.
Unlike the media writ large, we really don’t think Purdy is a ‘Game Manager’ or a ‘System Quarterback’ or whatever disparaging slur they’ve attributed to him as of late. But as fun as his underdog story is, the simple fact of the matter is Mahomes has racked up a star-studded body count this year that includes his perennial rival Josh Allen, a Miami offense led by his former super weapon Tyreek Hill, & the now two-time MVP Lamar Jackson.
We’re not saying Purdy has no chance of beating him, but Mahomes does tend to just win games he really shouldn’t when you look at the conventional matchups. And if he can do that against some of the best super weapons the league has ever seen, what chance does Mr. Irrelevant actually have?
Advantage: Kansas City
Bonus: Taylor Swift vs Donald Trump
Let us preface this by saying, we have no reason to believe Donald Trump roots for or against either of these teams. We know he loves the Patriots as they were one of the few teams that actually visited him in the White House (minus a key figure or two) and spent the entire Tom Brady era torturing the team he tried and failed to buy a decade ago. So why is the not even slightly controversial former President being brought up in this ridiculous sports article?
Because he’s running again and the presence of one particular Super Star has led to one of the funniest sports conspiracies we’ve ever heard. Bay Area fans turn back now, this section certainly does not favor you. The obviously credible theory perpetuates that Goodell and Co. have scripted another Kansas City victory to ensure Travis Kelce proposes to the the most powerful woman on the planet right before she endorses Joe Biden for the 2024 presidency. There are some variations of this theory that suggest Kelce will celebrate the victory by impregnating Swift on the field for the whole world to see (that’d certainly one-up the Janet Jackson thing).
Obviously, an influx of new voters in the form of the Swifties riding a sleepy Joe endorsement would prove problematic for Trump, which leads to our final point. Taylor Swift net worth: $1.1 Billion. Donald Trump net worth: $2.6 Billion with several axes to grind. Scripts be damned, at the end of the day money talks!
Advantage: San Francisco

Divisioinal Weekend Rundown

Divisional round: Jan. 20 and 21
NFC
(7) Green Bay Packers at (1) San Francisco 49ers
Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET on FOX
Quite the surprise in Wild Card Weekend with Green Bay just demolishing the Dallas Cowboys and moving on to San Francisco. Jordan Love went 16 for 21 for 272 yards and 3 TDs in his playoff debut AND has thrown 21 TD’s and 1 INT in his last 9 games. Safe to say he is playing at a high level. San Francisco is coming off a bye week and gets their taste of playoff action for the first time this season. It’s no secret the 49ers have a tremendous offense. Christian McCaffrey should be MVP in my opinion but the 49ers are a sneaky good team that on the surface it looks like the offense runs through CMC, but it doesn’t. it’s blocking, route running and scheme. Brock Purdy can sling it and with a ‘Swiss army knife’ in Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk on the outside there are plenty of options for Purdy to distribute to. Oh, and George Kittle helps too. But the key for the Packers is Aaron Jones. Jones has rushed for more than 110 yards in each of the past four games. He ran for 118 yards and 3 TD’s against the Cowboys. Jones has rushed for more than 100 yards every time he’s faced the Cowboys in his career but he’s never rushed for 100 yards in six previous meetings against San Francisco. In the 2021 Divisional Playoff loss to the 49ers he had 9 catches for 129 yards and 12 carries for 41 yards. I think San Francisco wins but not by the -9.5 point spread Vegas is predicting. Packers are hot but they lose a heart breaker.
(4) Tampa Bay Buccaneers at (3) Detroit Lions
Sunday, 3 p.m. ET on NBC
Who would’ve thought Detroit, who hasn’t won a playoff game in 32 years would be hosting TWO playoff games in a season. What a wild ride it has been for the motor city this season. Jared Goff got his revenge against the LA Rams and is moving on to face the Baker Mayfield led Buccaneers. Lions DB CJ Gardner-Johnson is talking about how if Tampa had a better QB they’d be better. So bulletin board material before the biggest game in recent Lions history. No big deal. The Bucs took down a flawed Eagles team with blitzing the hell out of them. No AJ Brown, Jalen Hurts was hurt and ineffective, and there was no defensive help which led to this solid Bucs team advancing. Detroit is riding high and rightfully so, Detroit has two home games in the same playoffs for the first time in franchise history. Detroit hasn’t won 2 playoff games in a season since winning the 1957 NFL title! Be energetic, be excited, BUT this Buccaneer team is NOT to be overlooked. The defense is solid, Baker Mayfield is having a good season and is distributing the ball to his playmakers. Tampa isn’t flashy but they don’t have to be. The atmosphere in Detroit will be electric and I think Detroit gets the win but Tampa keeps it close.
AFC
(4) Houston Texans at (1) Baltimore Ravens
Saturday, 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN/ABC/ESPN+
For some reason I feel that the rest vs. rust debate has to apply to the Ravens but not the 49ers, and I don’t really know why. Baltimore rested key guys against the Steelers the final week of the regular season and had a bye week. Guys got rest and more time to get healthy, but I can’t shake the feeling the Ravens will take a drive or two to shake the rust off. These teams meet for the second time this season, they played week 1 where Jackson threw an early INT, each QB had a fumble, Stroud took 5 sacks and Jackson took 4 sacks. It was a sloppy loss for Stroud but it’s safe to say each team rebounded nicely. Houston took it to Cleveland scoring at will on the best scoring defense in football. So why not try it with 6th ranked scoring defense in Baltimore. It’ll be 28 degrees in Baltimore so we’ll see how Houston handles the cold. CJ Stroud is exciting but Lamar Jackson is gunning for his 2nd MVP which he would have earned for sure. Baltimore hasn't hosted an AFC title game since January of 1971, when the Colts beat the Oakland Raiders. The Texans have never made it that far. They are 0-4 in the divisional round, including a loss to Baltimore in January of 2012. The Houston Oilers played in the AFC championship game, but their last appearance was 44 years ago. I think Houston will put up a good fight and I want the Cinderella story to continue in the worst way but I think Baltimore escapes this game with a win.
(3) Kansas City Chiefs at (2) Buffalo Bills
Sunday, 6:30 p.m. ET on CBS
This is it. This is the measuring stick. THIS IS THE GAME! This is to prove to everyone you are for real Buffalo. The playoff losses to KC have always been IN Kansas City. But now you get Patrick Mahomes at home. You get him playing his first road playoff game ever. I cannot overstate how immensely huge this game is for Josh Allen and Sean McDermott. Sean McDermott needs this win to show he can coach in the big moments. He needs to show he can manage a game from beginning to end. He needs to show he can close. Josh Allen needs to show he can outduel a 2-time Super Bowl winner. Period. The end. That’s it. Win, just win. I wouldn’t say this is the biggest game in franchise history, but this will be a franchise defining one. This regime needs to win to justify the culture, and the process. It’s more pressure on them but you put this pressure on yourself when you have the season you have. As far as this game goes, injuries will be the key. Buffalo needs to get some key guys back especially on defense. Rasul Douglas needs to play and so does Taron Johnson for the secondary to have some confidence in covering Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice. Isiah Pacheco didn’t play in the first meeting of these teams this season and the Bills need to clamp down on the run to keep Mahomes in long down and distances. The Chiefs are converting 52% of red-zone trips into touchdowns this season, which is in the bottom half of the league. Against Miami, the Chiefs went 2 for 6 and settled for four field goals. Keep everything in front of you. Stop the run. Force Mahomes into long down and distances and the Bills win. I think the Bills win but it’ll be so much closer than I want it to be. This is also a game I will be in attendance for so I’m sure my wife will enjoy my emotional mood swings for 3 hours.

Handcuff Strategy
In my last article I talked about RB Strategy as we head into our drafts. This article is one that I think ties in very well with that one.
Handcuffing is a strategy that involves drafting the direct backup to your star player, so that you are still locked into the performance of that situation. This is most often a strategy that people attribute to RB. When a star RB goes down in an offense that utilizes the RB very well, you are still going to get good performances out of the backups.
Most recently this was shown in Tennessee when Derrick Henry went down and D'Onta Foreman stepped in and performed very well. Last year as well when the Panthers traded CMC away, and Chubba Hubbard and Foreman(again) had great seasons.
Now, I am a believer in the handcuff strategy, but not in every instance. Not every stud has a clearly defined back up, and some situations are player dependent. This year, there are a few RB that I think handcuffing makes a lot of sense.
Derrick Henry is one. He is a prime candidate due to the Curse of the 370, and the fact that we know that his back up is Tyjae Spears.
The next candidate is Bijan Robinson. If Bijan gets hurt (god forbid) we know that Tyler Allegeir is going to be the guy.
The next candidate might be one that is unexpected. The next name is Mark Andrews. Mark Andrews is a great example of a guy who has a direct back up, who will step into the same role, in Isaiah Likely.
CMC is the last name that I will list here. While his situation is a little murkier, Elijah Mitchell will be the next man up in the primary role. While guys like Deebo Samuel will also see an updated role, Mitchell is the primary beneficiary.
If you have any questions on other potential handcuffs, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter(X) at @2fatguysff

(ESPN) N.erdy F.ootball L.eague 1st Round Playoff Recap 🏉💍🏈
As far as the standings going into the playoffs are concerned, Carla earned the top spot as the sole double digit win team in ESPN. Nobody else in the playoffs had less than 8 wins except Taurean who is the only playoff team with a sub.500 record (6-8). He beat out Oliver in a tie break for the final playoff spot.

Matt of course earned a bye along with Carla. Laura hasn't made the playoffs since she won it all in her inaugural year (except last year's controversial in). She has something to prove along with Peter. Peter must win to reclaim his dominance he once had PRIOR to Matt's arrival. Taurean is looking to have as much success in this league as his co commish has in his (friendly rivalry). Johnny although winning plenty of times before, doesn't not have a ring in his league yet because of lost records. Will he right this wrong?

The playoffs set it as Commissioners face each other (Taurean vs Laura) as Johnny faces his old coworker Peter who is on a mission.
Taurean 💍 Laura "Commish Battle"

Taurean stayed tried and true with his guy the G.O.A.T. Brady who thankfully had the best game of late with a 3 TD performance. Earlier in the Sunday slate, his OP flex of Fields gave him an edge as Justin ran for his life in the Bears vs Eagles game. CMC got over 100 yards (pro bowl snub) and Lamb went ha. In the cowboys upset loss. A pretty good outing between the Sunday games overall. A few surprises on the bench saw Gage and Pat's D with 20 plus points each. They definitely could have been better than the Garrett Wilson and Cowboys Def slots as the bench outproduced both.
For Laura, things were looking rough for Burrow in the 1st half of the Bucs game. The 2nd half was a complete opposite flurry of offense that set Cool Joe on a 40 plus performance. Diggs got less than double digits in a snowy wild game against the fins but almost all of her starting roster put out great points. Kittle went off...on the bench. Lucky Laura had played Purdy in a desperation move that turned out well in that exchange. Lockett was solid but Elliot and Jacobs added stability to her point total. A big risk playing Taysum paid off as Schultz on Taureans play only garnered 2 points to Hills 24.
Laura basically has a sizeable lead by the end of Sunday. Taurean had AJ Dillon left. 2 TDs later on MNF brought it close nearing the end. It was sadly not enough to overcome Laura's consistent point stacking from her starting roster.
Taurean lost and was eliminated from the playoffs. Meanwhile, Laura advances in what mist have felt a statement victory.
Congratulations in order for Laura as she clings for the ring. Kudos to Taurean for making it this far 👏
Peter 💍 Johnny

Johnny made the most trades in any Core 4 league to make it as a wildcard in ESPN at 8-6. Some trades put him at a deficit early in the season especially at the QB position. Relying on Danny Dimes and Jimmy G most of the way. When Jimmy went down for injury, desperation seeped in. Trades and waiver adds ensued. By making sacrifices with RBs, Johnny acquired Davante, Chase, and Jefferson all in trades to play 3 top tier WRs since there was a low supply of quality/dependable QBs. Trades for QBs failed on each attempt. Can he win without utilizing the QB premium of a superfluous by substituting a WR?
Peter had inconsistent results even with stellar players. Injuries, matchups, and last minute game scripts made his journey to the playoffs a bumpy one. Nonetheless, his steadfast insistence on sticking with his drafted players netted him enough wins to make it to the postseason.
Peter couldn't use Deebo which put him at a disadvantage. He sat Kamara as he has been lackluster this season. Of course, Kamara goes off to have a better game for the season on his bench. Amari was cold rather than hot. Andrews, yet again, has regressed due to factors with the Ravens (lack of WR playmaker, insistence on the run, Lamar injury, etc). Despite this, a hail Mary play in Trevor and Cousins (both in stunning wins) had the game of the season each on his roster.
Regardless of the awesome WR trio Johnny had and decent game from Broncos Defense...it simply wasn't enough. He played Peter on the wrong week. It happens.
Congratulations inorder to Peter for going onto the next round and kudos to Johnny for making the playoffs with trades galore.

While Commish buddies Johnny and Taurean face off for 5th, the final four for round 2 of the playoffs is cemented.
The final 4 sees Laura against Matt. Carla off her bye, will take on Peter.
Could we have another all female superbowl? Will the 2 most dominant players in league history face off in an epic matchup (Peter & Matt)? Each player has extra motivation.
Laura - Redemption
Carla - Quest for 1st 💍
Peter - Reclaim his throne
Matt - Make claim this is his league now.
Let's see what the 2nd round brings 4 da 💍
