it’s quiet for a split second before steve breaks.

ok i see other people do accountability lists on here so why not me. have 6 more days before my departmental exam. i have already:

made cheat sheets/lightly reviewed my easy classes, i.e. PO, waves, and data I

started working on math I cheat sheet, i have a flow chart of ODE solving methods, my usual math notes for stuff like sign rules i need for exams, and a better sense of what I need to work on next

decided FUCK math II and that'll be my skipped problem i h8 that class

read through the paper im discussing for the oral and have some ideas for problems/highlights/further reading

now i just need to

finish my math I cheat sheet (got room for some example problems/more detailed method notes)

make cheat sheets for gfd, fluid mechanics, and data II

take all these bad boys out for a spin on past departmental exam questions and identify problem areas to study more

reread the paper before the mock oral on friday then take whatever feedback the second years give me and do more prep for the real deal

Some people on twt are saying that the kiss under the altar in episode one was unscripted and they are using the early draft or whatever it's called as proof. And I just wanted to ask bc you may know about things like this, but it obviously wasn't an improvisation from Sam and Jacob right? there is no way there wasn't an intimacy coordinator there. Plus that script has a lot of lines and different scenes that were changed. It just doesn't make any sense but I've seen a lot of ppl freak out over it...

There's no way the kiss would've been improvised, anon, no. Even putting aside the fact that scripts change a lot not just in the lead up to filming, and that a shooting script might look very different to a script sent out during pre-production, and the fact that Jacob's confirmed that they have intimacy coordinators, scenes and shots are about more than just the actors and writers.

Scenes have to be blocked and rehearsed for camera operators, lighting and rigging, sound teams and boom operators, art department, make-up and costume, particularly scenes like that that have stunts and blood (and blood alone is usually an inter-department element that requires a lot of work between art department, HMU and costume - my sister complains about it all the time lol).

That's not to say improvisation can't happen - it does - but that kiss on the altar is a vital plot beat that required a lot of teams working together to deliver the impact, and to suggest that it was done on the fly to stoke rumours undermines the work that goes in to creating on-screen magic. That work should be celebrated! We get to reap the benefits of that as viewers! I don't know why anyone would want to ignore that.

Plus Sam has even said explicitly in his interview with Autumn that they're under such a time pressure shooting IWTV that they don't really have capacity to improvise.

had to submit a preliminary reading list for pre-pre-dissertation stuff and i just realized that 25.5 out of the 36 items were written (or in the case of 1.5 of them, edited) by women. nice.
