For a lot of yiur comics does it mostly consist of text with drawings? Do you prefer doing full comics or find it easier to split it up with text and drawings?

I mean proper comics like with Cell Talk or Family Secrets are definitely more fun to do for me, but it also takes more effort and definetely more time to write the script, plan the layout, and so on. Doing the text + occasional illustrations allows me to go over more of the story both quicker and easier, but it's not as exciting let's be honest :,)

Part of the reason why I decided to go with the easier approach for the season 1 finale is because honestly a lot of the stuff I've got left to cover is not that different from in canon, and just redoing a lot of scenes in comic form when there's not that much of a difference feels a bit redundant. There are still differenses that I wanna explain, but a comic didn't feel right for this specific part of the story I guess. Maybe I'll go back and adapt some smaller induvidual scenes in comic form at a later date though, who knows

Oh and also, I'm honestly a bit more interested in getting to the aftermath of the season 1 finale, but I feel like I have to more properly explain what happens during the s1 finale before I get to the rest of season 2 soooooo that's also why I'm kinda rushing through this hehe

I think what the left hand of darkness is about is taking the lines between you and people you consider separate or different from you - be it gender or nationality - and showing you those lines aren't real. And it isn't to say that there are no differences or that there shouldn't be any differences - like uesula k le guin said, she is not saying that we will all become androgenous, she is saying that in some ways we already are - its showing that those differenses don't make you separate to them. Those differenses exist but they don't make you other things.

And its not asking you to come to the book without those lines, quite the opposite! It puts you in the mind of someone who has those lines, and eareses them for him and you as you read.

You can't describe the left hand of darkness by what its about - because what its about is not a thing that can be said without the metaphor - without the expirience of reading the book. But you can describe it by the metaphor it uses and the journey it takes you on. You can't describe what it is about, you can describe what ut does.

Hey, weird question! When you quit wearing bras, did you have an issues with your nipples showing through your clothing? I know it's not a big deal on its own, but that bothers me personally and I'd rather not show mine if I can help it. That + breast pain (birth control) are the two big reasons I still wear a bra.

i have uhh, fairly prominent nipples actually i've just decided if that's a problem that's someone else's problem. I wear a lot of layers whenever i can (especailly formal settings), and then it is far less of an issue. A somewhat tightfitting undershirt made of a sturdy fabric will make a huge differense, but an undershirt in general is of good help if you're uncomfortable with your nipples showing. Test what you have in your closet already or keep it in mind if you're out to buy new clothing.

Donut's armor color in RvB made me think about how even color is a cultural thing and thus we view color differently in different languages. Finland is a western country so we don't really have a unique way of viewing color compared to western English speaking countries but I've been thinking about the Finnish and English words for pink.

Anyway, I did laugh at the gag about lightish red the first time it appeared in RvB but it's been also bothering me because I've kept thinking that light red would actually pretty accurately describe Donut's armor color, because how the color is called in Finnish. Though the colors change anyway between seasons depending on what Halo game they're using (Grif's armor goes from a very yellowish orange to a bright orange) and in the newer seasons Donut's armor is bright pink.

Anyway this just now made me research "light red", "pink", "vaaleanpunainen" and "pinkki". To me pinkki and vaaleanpunainen are different colors and I've now found out what the differense between pink and light red is which btw is something like this:

So yeah Donut, it's pink.

I'm a bit surprised though how badly all of these words translate. Vaaleanpunainen translates to pink and so does pinkki, which is a loan word obviously. But vaaleanpunainen literally means light red but you can't translate it like that because vaaleanpunainen translates to pinkki. And if you asked me to tell what the colors above are called in Finnish I wouldn't call either of them pinkki. Maybe vaaleanpunainen ja vaalea punainen? (lightish red would be vaaleahko punainen btw).

I don't really have a point with this, i just think that it's interesting how the word pink in English means this really light color but the loanword pinkki means a really bright pink (lots of search results I found for pinkki are actually magenta).
