I saw the TF2 X Steven Universe AU from @lenny-link and i couldn’t rest until i brought a pyro and engineer fusion to the table until realizing it was done already though I didn’t see that until a little too late lmao, (It’s pretty cool though, check it out) anyways, here’s tourmaline.

after reading @sixteenth-days's very lovely new fic chapter (go read here!) i just HAD to do a take on a flower husbands fusion design!
#flower husbands#smajor#solidaritygaming#gemcyt#mcyt#su#chris doodles#some fun design details/insights!:#it wouldve been pretty easy to make them another solid blue gem but#i wanted to go in a bit of a different direction with their design#flower agates are also typically pinkish/white and i wanted to translate that#it also makes flower agate feel like their own independent person#which is what happens when gems fuse anyways!#so i leaned more into the flowers part with the colors#i like to imagine it's also an expression of lapis and sapphire's love for each other#they express it by giving each other flowers and so their fusion#....looks like their love!#also the shoes are meant to be made of ice!#this keeps lapis's water element and gives flower agate the ability to skate/slide around#while not nessecarily giving them the full ability to fly#they can glide/float with the cape

#w101#wizard101#w101 fandom#wizard101 fandom#dasein#sal art#finally did a full-body piece of his post-canon fit for his and aedan's verse!#in their canon things go a bit differently at the end of novus#which means wallaru doesnt happen#so for a while dasein just kept his Pajamas Form (the blue smokey one)#but i decided that was more of an interim look than anything else and he needed something a little more permanent#and made this one!#right side crystal-esque pattern of his outfit is mostly based on the aeon armor#as is the blobby bits on his sleeves (which move!) and his rings (which mimic the gems on the hands on the back of the robes)#(since as far as im concerned he created the aeon gear and the hands are meant to be him literally 'having our back' so theyre His hands)#left side is based on both his canon post-wallaru fit as well as the gmod missing texture pattern#its a little too small to see but he has a collar chain that's got little eyes as the pins :]#he keeps the blue-grey color but gets his wings back and also isn't constantly shifting anymore#and he also keeps the old one's converse those are a permanent fixture--#the little eye fellas are like scouts/messengers and let him keep track of multiple parts of novus at once#without getting too overwhelmed#sighhh i could talk about this guy forever#one day i'll actually finish his and aedan's fic

Some concept art for Sweetie Belle’s cutie mark! The top are more in line with canon and the bottom is more experimental!
#different colors for each of her possible looks#mostly i just matched with her ribbon#i tried to keep the basic shape of the shield she has in the og#i was thinking for the bottom row:#i saw a headcanon that she and rarity were#descended from ponies from the crystal empire and i really like that idea! and in the olympics episode#the cmc were shown at the ceremony so i thought itd be fun if her passion was linked to#the history and culture of the crystal empire#the shield with little plants and whatever is easily my least favorite#its just not attractive#BUT my intention was that because her third design looked so much like starlight glimmer that maybe the two took on a mentorship thing#and sweetie belle was interested in astonomy and magic#easily the most out of character but its an interesting idea so whatever#id like it more but id need to figure out how to incorporate the shield better and i just dont have that kinda time rn#the clam was taken from the idea that she and her sister are both attracted to and able to sense valuable materials#rarity snd her gems sweetie belle and her pearls#maybe she would have gotten it when the school opened and she went to visit the hippogriffs for sormthing#the color of the planets and shines on the pearl are meant to represent Scootaloo and AB respectively#mlp redesign#mlp g4#mlp fim#mlp art#sweetie belle#cutie mark redesign#planets***

And it’s just? So baffling he got away with it?? Even considering they didn’t know the rocks were actually eggs.. that’s still such a blatant scam. Wdym he runs a snake oil scheme right in the middle of town. Wdym the 15 year old accepted small-child as a form of payment. Wdym he KEPT HIM.
I’ll never be over the detail Snotlout wasn’t even the one to find the eggs??? Fishlegs did! Snotlout entirely hijacked his thing like a fucking gremlin!! For profit!! Except he didn’t want riches for any practical reason. He stacked his treasure into piles,,,, he didn’t want it for money or savings or to buy anything he just wanted to Pile it into Hordes,,,, we really need to stop questioning why Hiccup is like that bc clearly it’s a family-wide trait

im watching dragons riders of berk right now and i think i like. genuinely actually just for real hate mildew like actually. he starts out just hating dragons out of viking stubbornness then he tries to frame them then tries to POISON them then tries to frame them AGAIN and in like the last few episodes he ends up siding with fucking ALVIN and i think about how he's established as like. a guy everyone hates when mulch says "it took 3 days to dig him out of an avalanche and 3 more days to think about why we did that" or something like that, and im just thinking why are we listening to him. why has stoick not banished him or something. i think i've said "can we kill mildew" 50000 times in my friendserver's personal chat and i think they hate me

the image will be clear in my head for less than a second, but for the rest of the time, the second image is how it looks in my head.
it's the same for voices. if i hear clips of the VA/reg actor speaking then i'll be able to hear them very vaguely at the back of my head when reading. this is only really frustrating when a fic keeps pointing out characters having different accents and i cant keep it up. Either everyone sound like their from New Jersey or they sound like they're from the UK (ik im generalizing but *shrug* i dunno specific accents), or in my original accent (which is distinctly No Sabo Kid Spanglish.)

As far as birthstones go I think February babies have the ideal place. There's a good balance of a stone that's very cheap and accessible (amethyst can be found basically anywhere in a craft store and be sold pretty affordably) and with a fairly iconic color that works really well whenever merchandise can't opt for using the actual stone and instead has to convey it through design. And it's purple, you really can't go wrong with purple.
I *would* like to be biased and claim October babies have the best birthstone, but the benefits (literal rainbow iridescent stone that is stunningly gorgeous) are outweighed by many downsides (lower Moh's hardness, very expensive, hard to properly render iridescence in merchandise that doesn't directly employ the gemstones). And usually when merchandise can't use opal it will typicall opt for pink tourmaline. Eugh.
April babies by far have it the worst though. Diamonds are expensive to the point of being completely inaccessible and so a lot of merchandising that tries to approximate it is just left with a white/colorless stone that is not diamond. If you're lucky, someone will have the good grace to skillfully portray a bit of color but it still has to *suggest* white or clear which sucks monumentally.
#gonna try my hand at a birthstone series *maybe*#i would have looked for a different birthstone for april but i had such a good idea about playing into diamonds#as gems being judged on their purity and general lack of color#i still want to keep it visually interesting and will put in some color#and was also thinking i wanted to do a second version that's meant to be 'yellow diamond'

Happy Skaro Sunday, have some alternative outfits for once
I really wanted his dye color to be green (and maybe pink) but I'm so attached to him in the guardian armor he's very red & gold in my brain. I've decided to compromise on his camp clothes instead.
#ideally I would remove the left pauldron of the armor so you could see the burn extending that far (+ onto his hand)#and the gem if I had the choice would be the same color as the jacinth ones you can collect in game#because they remind me of his eyes#but otherwise: I like it#woe unto me for this armor being my fave of the very limited options for gith gear because I want to put all my gith in it#but I like it for Skaro especially in lieu of the guardian armor because the coins remind me of the spikes#xa'rok has the other version of this armor from the gith gear mod pack where it's shorter up top and has a different bottom layer#but I like the one with the leather choker collar from the gothyanki set for them too because they wore that camp outfit for a while#and it does bonus psychic damage which xa'rok always enjoys#skaro sunday#rook's ramblings
