𓍝 MOON BOYS TAKING CARE OF YOU IN A CHRONIC PAIN FLARE
∘₊✧──────────✩₊˚.⋆☾𓃦☽⋆⁺₊✧──────────✧₊
∘₊✧──────────✩₊˚.⋆☾𓃦☽⋆⁺₊✧──────────✧₊
(first pic is them taking care of you :o)
(soft headcanons) (receiving care) (unspecified pain-causing disorder/s)
g!n reader | sfw | steven grant | marc spector | jake lockley
STEVEN GRANT
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Steven would do so much research on your disorder that he’d almost know more than you. He’d start studying the second he found out about your pain so that he can be best equipped to help you. Afterall, he loves researching and if that would be able to help you in some way he would jump on the opportunity. You’d catch him leaving tabs open and find books about your disorder/s in his study and you’d feel the research in all of the little ways he knows how to help you.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Whenever you’d tell him you’re worried he’ll get tired of your illness he’d get really sad and quiet. “I never want to imagine a life without you,” he’d say, “I don’t even want to think about getting tired of you- you’re so special to me.” He’d squeeze your hand gently as a reminder that he’s not going anywhere.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He’d be just as flustered seeing you with your mobility aids/medical devices as without them. They’d be the last thing he focuses on, to him they’d just be a part of you, his love, and they keep you safe and happy. You’re beautiful to him no matter what, even when you can barely get out of bed or you’re agonizing in pain he would be utterly enamored by you.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He would tell you about the evolution of mobility aids in ancient egypt. About how they had crutches quite like our modern ones along with staffs, prosthetics, and canes. He’d gush about Ptah and how the ancient Egyptians integrated disabled people into society and placed emphasis on treating them equally. He’d ramble on like this while you listened in awe of him. You’d feel so lucky to have someone like this in your life- someone that learns things specifically to tell you about and someone who lights up so much while explaining them.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He would have no issue with taking up extra house chores during your flares. In fact he’d insist on it and get upset when you try pushing yourself too hard. Some added cleaning is nothing if it keeps you in minimal pain and helps you get back to a more manageable state.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 You’d tell him you’re scared that you’ll never get better and he’d listen, holding you gently and trying to reassure you with his presence. “We’re going to get through this together.” He’d say. “You’re in a flare right now love- it’s gotten better before and it will again.” “I’ll be here for you no matter what happens.” These reassurances would be spoken with so much love that they’d actually begin to give you hope. Things would always be manageable with him around.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He’d have no issues with you going nonverbal from pain. He’d typically continue to talk to you just like normal unless you’re clearly overstimulated. He wouldn’t want you to feel barred from socializing just because you can’t speak directly. He’d watch your arm movements, trying his best to decode the weird sign-rhythm you two fall into, and laugh his way through chatting with you just as usual.
MARC SPECTOR
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Marc would be amazing at reading you. He’d be able to tell from slight shifts in behavior when your symptoms are getting worse and then accommodate properly. He’d do it without saying much, but you’d notice that before you’d even tell him you’re in extra pain he’d be doing more caretaking and purchasing any extra items you could need. There’s something quiet and supportive in his love that makes you feel like things will get better.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He would always be prepared. Carrying around things you need in bags and cars and making sure to get replacements the second things got faulty or ran out. He hates being unprepared, especially when that puts you at risk.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 You’d ask him if he’d rather be with someone else, someone less ill, and he’d be dumbfounded by the conclusions your mind comes to. He’d pause for a little bit, mustering up the courage to express his love for you. “Of course not, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” and he’d squeeze your hand. He truly can’t see himself with anyone but you and your illness is simply another part of you.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Whenever you’d feel embarrassed subconscious about your accommodations he’d be there practically looking at you with hearts in his eyes. Even in flares where you can barely get out of bed he’d never stop looking at you like you’re the most beautiful thing he’s seen.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Most of your interactions with him, especially when you’re flaring, would be quiet and safe. He wouldn’t talk much because he’d know it hurts you to reply, he’d just quietly sit with you and enjoy your presence while supporting you with his. He’d occasionally make comments at the tv, or complain about hero work or his alters or any of the usual things he gets upset about, but you would never feel pressured to respond. He’d leave room for you to be nonverbal.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He would come with you to every doctor's appointment and make sure that they listen to you. He’d hear about the amount of medical neglect you have gone through and become filled with rage- how could doctors treat so many people who are clearly in so much pain like they are subhuman and faking it? That would never make sense to him. So, he’d always be there ready to defend you. A looming threat against those who would doubt you in the corner of every room.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He’d always remind you that things are going to get better again and that even if they don’t you two will get through it. Especially when you make comments about being dumb or not working hard enough. You’d always be enough to him and you’d always be someone worth taking care of.
JAKE LOCKLEY
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Jake wouldn’t let a day go by without checking in on your pain levels and asking if you need anything. You’d tell him he doesn’t need to do anything for you, but that would only make him want to do more. He’d get you anything you need and more than that. Making sure that you’re well cared for and that things are as easy as they can be for you.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 When you’d tell him things that you miss doing he’d look for creative ways to still include you with him. He’d push you in a wheelchair through theme parks, be there to make sure you don’t faint or overdo it with physical activities, and anything that could make things more accessible for you. He wouldn’t want you to miss out on life. Anything he could do to accommodate you would be important to him.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 You’d have to convince him not to kill the negligent doctors that tell you things are in your head. He can’t fathom the idea of someone treating you that way. Especially since he sees how much pain you are in on a daily basis and how bad your flares can get.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Shortly after moving in together you’d discover that he’s an amazing cook. He’d always be finding new creative ways to make you delicious meals that accommodate your dietary needs. Then he’d never be offended on days when you couldn’t finish it all.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Before you could even get the chance to worry about it he would be telling you that there’s no one else he’d rather be with. That you are beyond important to him and so much more than your health conditions. That you can make him happier than anyone else ever could. He’d want you to know he is completely satisfied with you just the way you are.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 He’d help you with every part of your routine. Gently brushing your hair, scrubbing your back in the bath, cleaning the things you usually would. He would want to make sure you feel as good as you can and he’d know that being unable to get out of bed destroys your mental health. “I love doing these things for you. You are my heart and I am here for you however I can be.” He’d say, along with other things to gently reassure you that you aren’t burdening him.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 For a while he’d get very worried when you aren’t speaking. He’d worry a lot, about a lot of things, and he’d try to act like it isn’t affecting him but you’d sense it. You’d let him know he’s doing great with supporting you and that even when your symptoms are bad they are the best they’ve been in your life because you have three people who are so attentive to you and your needs around.

Regresses from 4-7
Will try to fight regressing to continue his work
Bad pain days will make him involuntary regress
Loves to take naps with his cg (Jayce) and stuffies
Loves tinkering with his toys
Prefers to use a wheelchair when little, his cane makes him feel more adult
Loves to dress in more childlike clothing, no suits, no, we’re all for little overalls and colorful shirts
Usually cold due to illness, likes to wear his cgs sweaters
Very quiet, usually has a paci in his mouth, and when he doesn’t he prefers to stay quiet

HELLO I COME WITH SCHOOL/EDUCATION HEAFCANONS. And also some learning disability/mental illness headcanons
Jonny: started school when he was younger, and got the VERY basics down, like basic reading, writing and math, but due to him having (undiagnosed) dyslexia he had a lot of trouble with writing and reading, and was eventually pulled out of school early anyway bc his dad didnt think it was teaching him actually important skills
Marius: intermittently on school growing up,had to help out a lot at home and with hunting since his parent was chronically ill and couldn't do it anymore. Did manage to get into college and had a lot of promise, probably was in mechanical or biomechanical engineering, but wound up dropping out a couple weeks before starting their PhD courses bc his parent died and he turned all his focus to helping fight in the war. I think he may have had an eating disorder (at least disordered eating patterns) growing up bc of the scarcity of food. And anger issues that he repressed (theres something else going on in his brain but I haven't decided what yet. He is full of unresolved and undiagnosed issues that would make his life So much easier to know abt. currently leaning towards ocd)
Brian: before getting blasted off into space the first time, he went to a very prestigious school/college and was actively pursuing two PhDs, one in medicine and one in some sort of scientific field. He skipped two grades at some point, and I think he came off as a little arrogant so I don't think people liked him very much, but he kept his head down and did all his work so I don't think the teachers cared much. Then he disappesred like a month begore his graduation, anf on the planet with the priest he didnt continue svhool amd just immediately got to doctoring. Autism and depression haver I think. As well as struggling with dissociation and derealization, wich got worse after being mechanized.
Raphaella: Actually has a PhD and was researching cures for fatal sicknesses that hadn't been studied as much at the college she graduated from, before going off the deep end and trying to figure out how to bring people back to life. Insomnia haver.
Nastya: had the Best schooling in her castle, but was homeschooled and isolated from her peers, and compared to her brothers education it was clear that they got to learn and do A Lot more than her. Had to teach herself a lot of things because even though she was the last of her siblings left still at home, her parents never spent much time with her and often kind of brushed her off. Another autistic girlie with the added sprinkle of depression.
Ashes: went to school for maybe a year or two before getting tossed between institutions and orphan houses, Mickey and the sevens taught them everything they needed to know like math and reading, mostly so the could do things like cheat and all that. Not the most thorough education, but it was something
Ivy: never really went to schools, but practically Lived in the massive libraries of her home planet, and the librarians taught her all sorts of things, anything they could when she asked. She had am insatiable curiosity that nothing could ever satisfy. Shes great at reading, but math (pre-mechanization, and even a bit after) was always a bit of a weak spot for her. I saw someone once mention they headcanoned her as dyspraxic and thats so real that its joined my arsenal of headcanons. I also think she has carpal tunnel and (canon) she has memory issues. I think shes got low empathy too. Audhd Queen
Toy Soldier: the widow didn't exactly teach it to read and write, but it did learn through observation when she read to it her husbands favorite books or wrote down grocery lists for it to go out and buy. Most of what the widow taught it was ettiquette and information on how gentlemanly soldiers should act, everything else it had to learn on its own because she expected it to already know these things. Can't do math beyond basic addition and subtraction (and like, the Very basics, adding and subtracting from anything higher than thirty it has no idea wjat to do) because of this. I would also like to raise dyspraxic ts. And I think its got some sort of anxiety disorder that it doesnt believe it has, because it would have to be a person to have one of those
Gunpowder Tim: theres just. Something going on in xyr brain that I can't even fathom. Fae have so many undiagnosed issues and refuses to address any of them except the PTSD. Was in school and finished high school, but was drafted when they were eighteen/nineteen and couldn't go to college. ADHD and seasonal affective disorder/seasonal depression haver. Dyscalculic too I think. I don't think he ever did the Best in school, but they did Try a little bit. She had other things going on. Totally unrelated but she absolutely has a fear of needles
Aurora: I don't think she ever really went to school? I think everything she learned was from her first moon mom, carmilla, and the mechs. Obviously the cyberians never really Taught her anything. Just forced her through a body horror novel. So she knows a decent bit abt science and reading and what the mechs are all interested in, but not much else
I think they've all got a variety of mental illnesses and things going on but I need to like. Actually iron out some of my ideas for them
-✨ who has too much time on their hands and is thinking abt the blorbos
all of this is so yes,,,, dyspraxic ts,,.

About me/This blog
Hi my name's Toniy. I'm a genderqueer (as well as a few others but let's just focus on that one) aroace. I use all pronouns (do not solely use he or she. If you must default to one I'd rather you used they or it)
I'm also disabled (autism, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, dyclaculia) and chronically ill (PCOS & Fibromyalgia),
Transformers is my special interest (as of October 2024 Thanks to TF One). And Starscream might be a seperate spin in his own right. He is my blorbo, my baby girl, my wife, my emotional support pinata, my feral attack dog, he is everything and I love him so much. (I also think he and a few other characters might be the closest i've ever come to experiencing sexual attraction). He's also one of my f/os (f/o tag: starrynights)
The other is Wheeljack (tag: to the point of invention)
I also love Seekers in general. Can't explain why

I am also a huge multishiper (and love headcanoning characters as polyamerous). Some of my fave ships are Starbee, Starjack, Prowlscream, JazzProwl, JazzProwlWarp (JazzProwl with Skywarp). I may be The JazzProwlWarp shipper, I mean my fic is curently the only one with that tag on AO3 so...
Yeah I like shipping people with Prowl (mostly IDW and G1) and Starscream
I also like making ocs/fan kids (list can be found on my blog). Carbine is probably my fave (She's a Starjack post war fankid and she's kinda fucked up in such a fun way). I also like making AUs
My current aus:
TF One Heirs Au (TF one universe where Orion, D, B, and Elita are raised by Alpha Trion, Starscream, Sentinel, and Airachnia)
Megatron's Heir Au (Au where Starscream is raised by Megatron)
Monster Au
Troublesome Tots Au (G1 inspired au where several characters get deaged into babies)
Demi-God Starscream Au (basically this au but i've only recently thought of a name for it)
I'm also working on my own fan continuity (Future Sparks) and I write fan fic (though let's be honest I update so often the only way you wouldn't know is if you just found this blog).
I will post Transformers porn/smut which I will tag (if I forget please let me know).
I do not care about shipping drama (I'm an adult I have real problems that deserve my energy more). I also don't ship everything I reblog I don't like MegaStar for example (well as an end goal ship. Kinda like them in a Harley/Joker one is the others origin story sort of way) but some of the art is so good (Me rebloging Megastar art)
If you read all this thanks
And enjoy whatever this is

the Batfamily and (canon) disability: I have headcanons about it, but I was thinking about how a lot more is shown in canon than people think about, since so many conversations are about representation in fandom works. but also because they're either in the background or integrated into the story, so it's hard to just pick them out and point at them most of the time. so I'm trying to think of things that are shown regularly (not just things that should have consequences/have been retconned)
Alfred - seen walking with a cane sometimes. also complains about a variety of age related disabilities, like arthritis. history of war presented in a narratively typical way to indicate trauma.
Lucius - trauma from being kidnapped and tortured in the current timeline (but I worry they'll ignore that later). age related disability, like finding it hard to move quickly, easy muscle strain. trauma over his various kids' disappearances.
Jim - heart problems. alcohol addiction and health problems from long term alcohol abuse, like hand tremors. age related disabilities. trauma from deaths and injuries/illnesses of various family members. explicit depression at various points, although usually shown as situational rather than chronic. glasses sometimes.
Bruce - trauma about his parents' death. trauma about the deaths of his friends and family that happened in canon. back problems due to spinal damage. chronic pain. talks about being tired in a way that can be read as chronic fatigue, depression, or physical issues from long term sleep deprivation (not sure what's intended most of the time). flexibility issues where he often can't move/stand the way he wants. nightmares. paranoia. difficulties with interpersonal communication. in Batman Beyond continuity, regularly shown with a cane or wheelchair (and I think a walker but I may be misremembering).
Kate - trauma about her mom's death and sister's disappearance. flashbacks (narrative) to leaving the military structured like flashbacks (PTSD) almost always.
Dick - trauma about his parents' death. suicidal impulses. self-esteem issues generally brought up as a joke, but often enough they accrue narrative weight. anxiety over responsibility, feeling obligated to do things for his family. chronic pain at old injury sites.
Babs - wheelchair for a while, some implications that she still uses the wheelchair on low mobility days, but at least nods to her needing mobility aids (albeit scifi ones). fluctuating mobility and pain levels. reduced strength and flexibility in her legs. trauma about her assault (altho, oddly, not usually about all the deaths and injuries to her family members/other Bats). imposter syndrome when dealing with other tech geniuses, and guilt/rumination over results of her programming and tech design. glasses sometimes.
Jason - hallucinations, usually induced by outside factors, but if something could make him hallucinate, he will. frequent alcohol abuse and possible alcohol addiction. suicidal ideation as seen through discussions of his death and resurrection, related issues with guilt and feeling responsible easy to read as depression. trauma about his death. trauma about his mom's death. trauma from child abuse and complicated mental health issues related to his dad. trauma from having to fend for himself for several years as a child, although not typically trauma from other facets of being homeless. anger issues and violent outbursts. visible scarring such that strangers react to it.
Tim - trauma over his parents' death. self-esteem issues and anxiety over not finishing school properly, work, his Bat identity, his sexuality - generally facets of adulthood he's unsure about. possible sociopath, in that he always makes rationally-based rather than emotional decisions towards strangers, and doesn't seem to feel guilt over doing violence to them (but possibly that's for story reasons).
Steph - child abuse trauma. food insecurity from childhood poverty, as seen from being overly attentive towards food. anxiety about not being a real member of the Batfamily, or not being good enough for them. anger issues.
Cass - difficulty with speech and verbal communication. child abuse trauma. suicidal tendencies and trauma from her death. social anxiety and difficulty forming friendships. high susceptibility to toxins and mild altering situations. self-esteem issues about her lack of (traditional) education and unfamiliarity with literature. inability to ignore people's body language, which leads to anxiety, and ends up reading (along with the social awkwardness) as trust issues towards her loved ones. (general trust issues mentioned but not really shown.) trouble with social cuing and social expectations.
Duke - trauma over his parents' attack. insecurity/anxiety over his place as a superhero/his powers.
Damian - child abuse trauma. social anxiety and difficulty forming friendships. possibly hallucinations, because he has very in depth conversations with people that aren't there, more than just talking to himself and imagining, narratively speaking. possible sociopath: has no problem testing his hypotheses on strangers or torturing them, but is very emotional towards his family. is still depicted as very small despite being fifteen, which may have something to do with his spinal surgery, although that doesn't come up a lot so maybe not. issues with attachment and accepting affection.
most of people's disabilities center around trauma and alienation, but that makes sense, since this was a story created to discuss the impacts of those very things. there's also a scale of how much pain and the breakdown of the body over time figures, based on how realistic of a take on the story you have someone setting down, which differs a lot by author. the child abuse/childhood trauma angle also varies by author, depending on how dark of a tone they want to take. but there are a lot of disabilities that come up regularly in the text, just not usually physical ones. (even though there are some obvious physical symptoms some of them should have.)
#I didn't include Alice Jace Terry Maps etc. because this was already really long so I wanted to stick to central Batfam#I didn't include Helena because. her backstory is so hard to decide on in the best case. let alone her personality traits and stuff#I didn't include Luke because Luke is always presented as completely mentally and physically healthy. it's why Jace hates him#like I'm pretty sure Luke is just completely not traumatized in any way. also he canonically sleeps right. like damn#anyway feel free to add onto this with examples or other characters or discussion of what I've said#if you want to know my reasoning behind a character maybe send an ask so I can talk more about that specific one

This headcanon was originally posted on @oflightsgrace (now defunct). I have tidied up and modified some sections for this blog.
most people who have seen my interpretation of ysayle know i write her with specific disabilities in mind in regards to her post-heavensward verse. i wanted to expand and highlight what they are because i think it's important people know what they are and why i chose to include them.
it's a well-known fact that, when ysayle chose to appear before scions as shiva for the final time, she did it with the expectation that she was going to die. the powers of the garleans, the hostile environment of azys lla and the might of the warring triad were the dominant power in contrast to the prayers of the weary heretics and her own shaken faith. at this point in the story, ysayle knows the 'saint' she is calling isn't shiva as she has come to understand her, but a primal she can control only because of her power with the echo. the people who prayed for her — tempered, sacrificed and died for her — did so, in her mind, for nothing. the outcome did not change. it was only through the warrior of light's battle against nidhogg, his brood and the divulging of the holy see's corruption that exposed the rot. though many credited her to opening their eyes to ishgard's injustices, it didn't feel enough.
to that end, misbegotten faith doesn't bring back the lives stolen for the cause — whether that was from people who believed in her, the innocents that were sacrificed or the people they fought. for a long time, ysayle attempted to justify it with claims of a 'greater good', only to find the warrior could do the same without needless bloodshed. by gathering the last of her power and travelling to azys lla, it was her fervent hope she could be of use to the scions and atone for the senseless deaths caused.
she would have been perfectly content to die there. however, in her final moments, ysayle was cradled by hydaelyn with the last of her power while she explained that there was still more that ysayle could accomplish should she wish to do so. though she didn't always agree with being spared when so many others died, she made the choice to live in order to continue to be with the scions and help them with their cause. she was found by hraesvelgr and hidden away for a number of months due to her weakened state.
as evidenced with the other scions, those who enter the lifestream do not come out unscathed. ysayle is no different. most notably, she walks with a limp. the damage done by the garlean magitek no doubt broke a myriad of bones in her body and, though the dragons did their best to mend what they could, there are some things that can never be undone. because of this, she struggles to walk and suffers from chronic fatigue that can cripple her if she exerts herself too much. needing the almost constant use of a cane or crutches, it's also not uncommon to see her in a wheelchair or on the back of a chocobo should long-haul travel present itself. she does her best to be self-sufficient and seldom complains.
additionally, she suffers from an array of mental illnesses — most notably complex ptsd that manifests in depression, avoidance of triggers (most notably ishgard proper), lack of self-worth and night terrors. though ysayle has always had nightmares they intensified after her 'death', leading to insomnia that compounds the fatigue. though she tries not to let her companions know she is suffering, it becomes hard to ignore when in close confines or travelling.
i will likely expand on these more through roleplay and personal exploration, but this serves as a base understanding of why i say ysayle is disabled in my canon!

Headcanons of Crowley with GN Partner with Chronic Illness/disability:
1. Crowley becomes an expert in managing medication schedules and helps create a system to ensure his partner never misses a dose. Even if they were to forget, Crowley didn’t. If you have Injections, Crowley is able to give you them now and it’s always painless when he does. He would never tell you that giving injections made him squeamish at first, it wasn’t very demon like to be squeamish…
2. He designs a comfortable and stylish wardrobe to accommodate any medical devices or accessories, blending practicality with fashion. You never have to struggle with finding the right thing to wear in the shops, he can create it from firmament or use his powers to alter anything at will.
3. Crowley uses his supernatural connections to stay informed about the latest medical advancements and alternative therapies to explore with his partner. He is never one to be “have you tried yoga, or a glass of water” like it’s just so easy, but if there is something that has found to be helpful in your condition he will open a conversation with you on it.
4. He transforms their living space into a haven of accessibility, incorporating ramps, handrails, and other modifications as needed. Of course, it is all still aesthetic to match the sleek apartment.
5. Crowley takes on the role of a supportive advocate, accompanying his partner to medical appointments and ensuring their concerns are heard. Doctor that doesn’t take you seriously? Not anymore. They won’t be your doctor and you’ll have a new one in no time, don’t worry that the doctor miraculously just got fined or lost his doctors license that day… in the ER and no one is taking your pain into account? He’s walking the hallways and telling people what’s what. If you make like of your symptoms, he’s right there to back you up and make sure everything is addressed.
6. He becomes a master at adapting plans on the fly, always ready with a backup idea that accommodates any unexpected health issues. He never wants you to feel like you’re missing out or holding him back. He always tells you? “Holding me back from what? I only want to be around you anyway”
7. Crowley uses his powers to help you obtain flexible work schedule, ensuring you have the time for necessary care and rest whenever you partner need it. Frankly he would rather you quit and just let him take care of everything but that’s another conversation.
8. He continuously educates himself about his partner's condition, showing a genuine commitment to understanding their experiences and being the best support possible. He helps you process what you’re going through and will not accept you gaslighting yourself on your experiences or symptoms.
9. One of the things that sets him off on a rage more than anything is when you’re out on the town and come across something not accessible! He waves his hand and it is, and he fantasies about yelling at people or writing complaints to the city about it, however he knows it’s just easier to fix it himself. The whole town thinks the city is making these improvements when really your partner is just determined to make the world available to you.

thinking about disabled hinata...
a lot of people headcanon that she has heart complications after the chuunin exams (something i'm also a fan of), however, i also like the idea of hinata have a disability before then.
i think having hinata be born with a disability — a chronic illness, i'm leaning towards — would both make a lot sense and also add some more depth to certain aspects of her character.
it could explain why she struggled so much with certain parts of the hyūga technique, as well as be a reason her family viewed her as inferior and weak. some sort of heart condition would work well — something that makes it hard for her to go on for long periods of time as well as gets worse whenever she's stressed.
this would frame her fight with neji in a new light. he didn't exactly look down on hinata for her disability, but he didn't believe she could ever be capable of a ninja because of it. she grew to be worse during their fight as her stress increased, and neji's final blow towards her heart would have a more personal impact.
hinata being so kind and calm all the time can also be a bit of a treatment for her, helping her keep her heart stabilized. she doesn't allow herself to get worked up because she knows it hurts her as well, not to mention the constant "careful hinata, your condition" comments she's received.
despite this, she still perseveres. she becomes a ninja, develops her own technique, and even grows to have the best eyes of her clan. she's disabled, but she's not incapable. she struggles and has moments where she feels like it's helpless, but she continues to do her best because she knows her condition doesn't define her — it's merely a part of her identity, just like being a shinobi is.

Wonderful @cirrus-ghoulette made this post about chronically ill Dew headcanons so I COME BEARING MY OWN/MORE!!
headcanons about post-(fire element)transition Dewdrop as well as some bonus ghouls with chronic pain and disabilities!!
you'd think his hands would run warm because he's a fire-ghoul... but it's quite the opposite!! because all the heat and blood rests at his core, Dew usually has temperature dysregulation which gives him cold fingers and he has to wear fluffy or thick socks on his feet :> (however he can easily channel his magic through his hands if needed, it's just not constantly emanating warmth)
DEW HAS several breathing problems, seasonal asthma outbursts, and shortness of breath. During the colder months, his asthma gets really bad and the ghouls just have a stash of inhalers, mountain, and Aeth usually carry some with them, as well as mountain growing and making eucalyptus and peppermint coffee (hot)(also yeah its a thing, and surprisingly helps with asthma) to help him breathe. All around the year though he tends to have shortness of breath any time he does anything mildly energy-consuming (picture that one mommy dust gif where he's heavy breathing)
this one is also about breathing but it's entirely psychological, cw: mild angst <3. Dewdrop's breathing problems give him panic attacks. If he starts breathing too heavily or his throat starts closing up he begins panicking and freaking out, gets dizzy and clammy, and will likely start crying if its too bad, the ghouls usually try to keep him grounded and calm if he's having an asthma attack while he uses the inhaler or settles down, but all-year-round he wakes up at night sweating cold, coughing and choking on air, usually also crying from PTSD and nightmares.
continuing that ^ think about it like standing in a room that's lit on fire, the black smoke hurting your airways from the inside out, it burns. That's how Dew feels. His lungs were clearly made for working with water, and with his gills closed up the muscles around them practically become useless, they only react to being touched or triggered occasionally by muscle spasms. His body is not used to the fire magic and breathing air burns his throat.
which on a lighter note, is why I think he sucks at smoking, lmao... at least smoking too much without something to drink, if he hits too fast or too slow he WILL cough, and he demands that swiss give him cherry-flavored drinks to wash out the taste, because apparently, swiss' rolls taste like shit (mountain's don't, mountain's usually have a sort of bittery pomegranate berry kind of herbal taste, swiss' just taste... like swiss...??/don't quote me on that)
Cumulus has endometriosis, mountain, and dew are usually the ones who help her most, aether and Popia also look into rituals and magick to help her and how to safely do it (cries a little)
Mountain has really bad knees... yet really strong leg muscles, he can usually be seen wearing his knee braces and compression sleeves, however, if it gets too bad he will occasionally use crutches.
He also has back pain pretty often both from carrying heavy equipment and working hunched over the greenhouse or at his kit when they tour, he doesn't need a brace or a lot of support because his pain is mainly from soreness and exertion but he usually gets dewdrop to both lay on his back and also walk on it, Zephyr will also give him lower back massages when he's been in the greenhouse for a while, and in return, mountain helps zephyr CRACK his bones like a glowstick LMAO
mountain often gets wrist pain :) it's not quite carpal, but he also uses wrist braces and compression gloves as well as ice and heats his wrists from time to time, he mainly gets tendinitis though if he's been doing too much work.
RAIN has pots, or pots adjacent water ghoul shit... here's my reasoning: pressure underwater is different than above the surface, so underwater rain's blood pressure regulates, but out on earth for extended periods of time it just does NOT flow properly. Imagine kind of like that feeling of HEAVINESS you get after you've been swimming in the pool for several hours? Yeah kinda like that but less perceptible, sitting up or laying down without moving for too long will make him dizzy and nauseous, but standing up for too long will also make him clammy, dizzy, and very weak. He doesn't faint too often, usually because the ghouls tend to have his back and watch out for him, but he might faint a couple times a month from fatigue or a sudden drop in blood pressure.
Rain, as we know, also has hypermobile joints, there are already a lot of headcanons about that but I still wanted to make sure I mentioned it. He mainly uses a cane for support but otherwise, he also uses braces, compression sleeves and socks, and other such aids that I'm sure others have mentioned!
I really loved what @cirrus-ghoulette mentioned in their post about the ghoulettes sunshine and cirrus so I'm not really going to repeat much aside from!!!! I absolutely think Sunny is a little ball of autism and adhd, you cannot tell me you LOOK INTO HER BIG AUTISTIC EYEs and tell me she doesn't have a slight touch of le tism, also? auditory processing disorder, because I do not believe she understands a fucking thing you say. people just think she's silly and clueless, but little do they fucking know (laughs IN PAIN) that in her little pea brain, she's overthinking the mechanics of the SIMPLEST task, just because she needs to figure out the exact conditions in which to solve the task, like its a puzzle. (she just like me fr /lhj)
Swiss and sunny are also not allowed to drive, mainly bc sunny just CANNOT understand behavioral cues so driving with her is like a rollercoaster ride where every curve is a step closer towards totaling the car... and swiss... because he understands the behavioral cues BUT CHOOSES TO DELIBERATELY IGNORE THEM, red light? that's just a suggestion... car has its blinkers on to turn right? not if HE TURNS FIRST... it's danger out there with swiss...
Also I believe swiss IS in fact AND OLD MAN, and he hates to agree that he constantly also has joint and muscle pain until its literally impairing, and the ghoulettes force him to LAY DOWN.
aether... babyboy aefer... heavy booby... give back pain... someone please hold them /lhj... no but, aether has tummy issues :(
He has mild hyperglycemia which causes his blood sugar to be a little higher than it should be if he doesn't keep it regulated, one wrong food and it's trouble.
he's also a VERY light drinker because he is prone to seizures due to the alcohol spiking his blood sugar, if he does drink it's usually low-alcohol beer and he prepares his diet a day in advance to make sure he doesn't eat anything that will spike it, as well as only having a couple drinks. (I don't see him having diabetes, but certainly struggles with food and blood sugar levels from time to time, especially if while on tour for too long and such)
and that is the end of a VERY LONG FUCKING POST.... these are some of my headcanons I've gathered both from personal experiences and people close to me, so they may not be entirely correct!!
PLEASE!!! and I beg!! If you see any misinformation or misrepresentation (outside of the ghoul elemental anatomy differences headcanons) DO shoot me a direct message or comment correcting me or explaining what you think should be discussed, changed, edited, etc!!
As I said, this is based mostly on my personal knowledge and experiences of those close to me, so it may not be 100% correct or accurate!!
that being said, I hope you enjoyed <3 MWAH!!

So I can't reply to @phoenixyfriend having replied to my reblog because either they've blocked me or they don't do DMs with non-mutuals despite suggesting that as a preferable forum for disagreement, but in brief:
My reblog was 'necessary' within the very limited definition of that word that applies to fandom blogging because that post was not a post About Tony Stark. I don't engage with posts About Tony Stark or most characters in general that I disagree with, in general! It's rude and life is too short.
That post, however, was not about Tony. It was a conversation between bloggers asserting an argument for why people who don't agree with your headcanons are morally inferior and have Bad Corrupt Motives.
"What does it say that Steve is, in fandom, often considered a better/more qualified speaker on the topic of chronic illness and disability than Tony" and "these people would rather listen to the white, able-bodied guy than the person actually forced to live with the consequences of life-long disability" and "viewers with that perspective continue to see his disability as a sign that he's still a bad person, because he hasn't 'earned' a cure the way Steve did."
(Which again is wild as a take because Iron Man 3 has tony 'earn' his way out of both physical damage and PTSD through willpower and smartness in the ending montage, because inspiration porn doesn't work if you stay damaged.)
It was a post about the fandom. Accusing other actual human beings of being morally at fault for how they interpreted the marvel cinematic universe.
Not like, an intense horrible attack post as these things go, but it still wasn't about characters. It was about other fans. That is different from talking about characters! Your post was about how it's sus and shameful for people to disagree with you, not about your actual positions and why they're right. Let alone about the character. That doesn't fall under the curtain of 'don't start shit' because shit was already started.
Like I don't have any Avengers fic, haven't been in the fandom for several years, and I was still sitting here scrolling my dash getting these Bad Person Motives assigned to me just for thinking one character was more meaningful disability representation, that I would be interested in hearing from on the subject, than another.
You made inflammatory statements about other actual people in a public forum, where it could be predicted they would see it.
And then flew off the handle when someone went over your post asserting their alternate perspective, carefully avoiding attacking you personally or assigning you evil motives, which would have been incredibly easy except it's a shitty way to interact so no, and speaking only in general terms about things they found personally annoying.
If you can't deal with people reblogging your posts to argue that you're being unfair, then maybe don't post about how other people only disagree with you about your blorbos because you are a better human being than those people. I mean.
#hoc est meum#i would say 'you can dish it out but you can't take it'#except i went out of my way to not say the kinds of manipulative leading things-about-you that your post consisted of#so you didn't even get your own medicine#otoh it was a reply on your post so returning your attitude in kind would have been shitty behavior#which is why i didn't do it#but come ON#also wrt tony being jewish in mcu#i think i do remember the scene in agent carter you're talking about#but it just consisted of the use of some yiddish#i grew up speaking that much yiddish because my mom's from manhattan#i think that only rises to the level of coded#and also it's in agent carter and doesn't count for like#overall fandom character understanding trends#since it's in an obscure spinoff and doesn't apply to the average fan's understanding of tony#who isn't even CODED anything but White Guy in the main films#and that's on purpose#this is aside from the serious complexity surrounding#'does having a jewish dad in america make you non-white?'#like this is a complex piece of analysis that cannot be squashed down into the flat statement 'this is not a white character'#anyway for fuck's sake#take your weird power-trippy martyr complex and let us part ways#i don't normally see there as being a Choice Between stark and rogers#on account of how they offer fans wildly different things#so no argument about how tony is Entitled to be centered in conversation about anything#including disability#is likely to move me very far because that's not really relevant to how i conceptualize these blorbos#but i fully support your right to make such arguments#assertions about the motives of people who don't like your blorbo and why they're Bad Person Motives however#are a different kind of argument

please could i have an urgent request? i'm chronically ill and suffer from intense chronic leg pain due to my illness, this makes it very hard for me stand/walk/go up stairs. i've found out recently that i'm going to need a crutch or cane within the next 3-6 months and i'm incredibly distraught about this.
could you write about marius von hagen with an s/o who uses a mobility aid like this? if this makes you uncomfortable in any way then it's no problem, thank you very much
Marius With Reader Who Uses Mobility Aid
Pairing: Marius x Gn!Reader (MC)
Warnings: mentions of using mobility aid (crutches/cane), feeling hopeless, crying, hints of depression
Genre: Comfort
Post-Type: Headcanons
Word Count: 460
Summary: In which you find out you have to use Mobility Aid due to the affect your illness has on your legs, and how Marius reacts to this/comforts you through this.
[A/N: Hey babes, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. You're very strong for dealing with chronic pain each day, and having to deal with such devastating news like that. But I know you can get through this, no matter how hard it may be. I hope these headcanons provide you with a bit of comfort. It's my first time writing for Marius! I haven't gotten any tot requests so this was nice. tbh tho I haven't played tot for a while (i've been busy with work and other things) so I don't know how in character he is NFJEKAF. Hopefully it's alright and i hope you enjoy! Praying for you and sending you lots of love <3]
Marius:

Let me just put it out there that you using crutches or a cane doesn’t negatively affect Marius at all
He’s so incredibly in love with you that NOTHING would ever change that, EVER
He of course hates how much this change has impacted you–seeing you sad breaks his heart, but he’d never let that show on his face
He remains the same cheeky, flirty, Marius you know and love and tries to get your mind off your negative thoughts by treating you like he always has
Your chronic leg pain was something he grew used to over time, doing everything in his power to try and find a solution to your illness, using as much money as he needed to blow off on doctor appointments and literally any other resource that could possibly help you
But when the ultimate answer was using mobility aid, Marius continued to remain positive in hopes that his attitude would rub off on you and make you feel a little more hopeful about your situation
He goes out to do anything and everything with you, your disability won’t stop him from taking you to your usual spots
He makes easier walking routes for you to get into his company and home so you don’t have to worry about that
Other than that though, he treats you like he always does because he doesn’t want you to feel like he’s treating you a certain way or that he’s only with you out of pity, but this man really loves you and you better believe he’ll make sure you know that for a fact
On days where your situation hits hard on you and you just feel so depressed and hopeless, Marius is right by your side supporting you
“I know this isn’t the kind of life you would have chosen for yourself. Hell, even I wish I could do more to help you so that you wouldn’t have to go through this, but we do. You have this illness and it’s affecting your legs, so we just have to work through it, babe. You’re not alone in this, you have my 100000000% unconditional support and love. I love you so much and nothing will ever change that. I know some days will be harder than others, but we’ll get through each day together, alright?”
Usually he doesn’t get so serious, but when you look so dejected and sad, he has no choice but to straighten up and be there for you emotionally as well–his playful attitude still shines through though so look forward to that
Rain or shine, Marius will find a way to lift your spirits and not have you focus on the negative side of your illness–he’d do anything to keep a smile on your face
REQUESTS ARE OPEN :D

small list of YouTube essays I’ve produced so far:
“Representation DIY: What Headcanons Can Teach You About Autism”
On why representation of minority groups in fiction has such a powerful influence, why I prefer headcanon autistic characters over canon examples, and how headcanon discussions can improve the public dialogue and be an additional push for better diverse media.
“Night in the Woods: Cosmic Horror and Optimistic Nihilism”
An exploration of themes and narrative threads of “Night in the Woods” through the eyes of an exhausted Gen Z anarchist. On the terrifying world that young adults of today were born into and how it affected us, the two ways in which NiTW explores cosmic horror, why humans always look for stories, patterns, and meaning, and whether you can be sane and happy without meaning altogether.
“Aliens Among Us: How Capitalism Created Disability”
Part 1 of the “Disability and Capitalism” two-parter. Starts with an exploration of the “alien among us” trope in sci-fi and the ways in which science fiction allows us to discuss the topic of disability from a surprising angle. Continues with a discussion of three sociological frameworks of disabilty, history of disability prior to the industrial revolution, and how it changed with the advent of capitalism and growth-based economy. Puts forward an argument for the capitalist system necessarily creating the conditions that lead to disability discrimination.
[reblogs and channel subscriptions are highly appreciated - help a queer chronically ill autistic fulfill the dream of having a job that will not ruin my mental and physical health 💙]

How the Batch Comforts You with Your Chronic Pain
SUMMARY: Some Soft headcanons on how The Batch Boys™️ would take care of you on a flare day.
CONTENT: Gender Neutral ; No ailment is specified in particular, besides chronic pain ; brief allusion to cannabis ; SFW.
NOTES: I love our Boys! <3 They would take very good care of you when you're hurting. I really enjoyed writing this, I may continue writing for the chronic pain/disabled SW community. We don't get a lot of recognition and it's been therapeutic to write some visibility for us!
Enjoy, loves! 💖
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Crosshair
Is the protective one.
Seriously. He will fight anyone who comes near you while you're trying to rest. If you need your space, consider your space locked down just for you.
He can see exactly what is bothering you and where. Which makes him perfect at back massages. He also has impeccable taste in lotions and oils, from having rough hands himself, so you have a selection to choose from!
These massages can be strictly platonic, or very sensual! Whichever you prefer. He's very respectful of your space and needs. He gets it, he needs a lot of space and has a lot of boundaries himself.
Gives you lots of words of reassurance. Chronic pain can take a toll on the mental health, and he can see that, too. He gives you quiet whispers of comfort. No one else can hear them, they're just for you.
He's also perfect to lean against. You can sit right in front of him, leaned back against his chest with your full weight and he'll support you.
He thinks it's cute when you fall asleep like that. 💖
Echo
He draws a bath for you. Puts some Epsom salts in, along with some healing tinctures. It's so comforting and relaxing. You're able to float there, buoyant and without any pressure on trigger points or joints.
If you want him to join, he's more than happy to! All of his prosthetics are completely waterproof so there's no concern. He likes taking baths, too, it relieves pressure from his connective joints. But if you prefer to be alone, he's more than happy to put your clothes and towels on the counter and wait outside for you.
He makes you a pain relieving concoction: a tea and a lotion. He's studied many alternative remedies to help with his own struggles, he's got a whole notebook full of ideas. It helps. It's soothing, and it's nice to have the quiet company as you both sip your tea together. He also has an herb you can smoke, too, but that's entirely up to you. ;)
When you're feeling a bit more mobile, or if you're feeling stiff, he has a gentle stretch routine he would practice in his recovery. It helps wake the joints up and lubricate the bones a bit. It's simple, nothing strenuous, and it soothes some of the aches. He's right there to support you if you lose your balance or can't continue.
He's very empathetic, someone you can trust with how you feel. You know he gets it, and he's always very compassionate.
Hunter
He can sense when you're going to have a flare the day before.
He has a whole game plan on how to help you.
It's a little excessive.
Once he chills out though, he realises all he needs to do is listen. He's a great listener.
You both come to an understanding that you have similar physical experiences. He didn't really consider it before, but he realises he has a degree of chronic pain, too. It was all he'd ever known and he didn't know anyone else who was different like him, too. It's a very personal, bonding experience between the both of you.
This makes him easy to talk to. You're able to get a lot off your chest on how your illness affects you, how it makes you feel. It's not something you get to talk about often in a safe setting, he just sits and listens.
He doesn't judge you if you cry.
He lets you borrow his most prized possession: his fuzzy blanket. He bought it for himself after an assignment on Naboo. It's soft, silky, so warm and cuddly. Nothing about it itches or tickles or scratches. It's the only thing that doesn't cause pain against your skin.
He's determined to buy you one next time they're on Naboo.
Tech
This man has the lo down on every symptom you have. Literally. Like a whole ass binder full of every piece of knowledge on your particular ailment. You're practically better off consulting him than a doctor (which, let's be real, would probably be for the better anyway).
He knows he can get real clinical. He also knows you've probably had a lot of that in your life already -- like he and the other clones. He knows how tiring it can be, to be looked at like an object or an experiment instead of a living, breathing being.
So his most sensitive side comes out when you're having a flare. He speaks quietly and deliberately, he tries not to touch you, he reminds you to take your medicine on time. He even has it in a little pill box with a glass of water or juice for you.
He's very thoughtful. He anticipates everything you need. He has a heating pad ready, ice packs in the freezer, he even makes you a nutritional drink for you to sip on if you're not up to eating.
Is secretly a cuddle bug. At night when you're preparing to go to sleep, he wraps you in the blanket you're sharing and puts his arm around you. You fit perfectly against his chest, a snug little spoon. He gives you a kiss on the head and wishes you sweet dreams, mesh'la. 💖
Wrecker
Oh, Wrecker. He's the gentlest of them all. So tender. He knows he can be super loud, so he does his best to whisper. It's a loud whisper, but still. You appreciate it. Sound can be hard to process through the pain.
He is PREPARED. Like he has a whole ass kit ready for your flare days. He keeps it for you, special.
At the end of the day, he just wants to be useful. He knows he's not usually equipped to handle sensitive situations like this, so he does the absolute best he can to learn and do what he can.
He is the best person to marathon TV shows with. Complete with hilarious commentary.
This man would do anything to make you laugh. He loves laughing with you.
It helps take away the pain. Takes your mind off of everything. His sense of humour is the perfect balance between just dark enough, and wholesome.
OBVIOUSLY a huge cuddle bug, too. A very gentle cuddle bug. He knows his strength, and he knows when to be tender.
He likes playing with your hair, stroking your scalp -- it calms you both and brings you both some comfort.
💖

MUN
I’m Brei! she/her. 25 and from Canada.
I’m disabled and chronically ill so i’m not always here.
I’m a horse & bunny mom.
my discord is available upon request by mutuals!
I will NOT tolerate any hate-speech on this blog. No, calling out racism, sexism, ableism, etc. is NOT hate speech.
GUIDE TO THE BLOG
This blog is a rp blog for Li Shang from Disney’s Mulan. my portrayal is solely based on the first movie (1998) and from my own Headcanons.
i use icons from the movie as Shang’s default FC. but i have a live action fc (Xiao Zhan as Ji Chong in The Wolf) that I will use when needed.
i don’t require you to follow reblog karma on this blog.
This blog is private so i only write with people i’m mutuals with. do not continually message me about following back. more on this here.
i do not write with muns that are not 18+. I’m sorry minors. you’re welcome to reach out and ask why I have this rule. in addition if you don’t have your age listed on your blog i will not follow.
you’ll see no overtly sexual content here. Li Shang is a disney character. Mulan is a movie made for children. It’s creepy and inappropriate when people sexualize children’s characters.
General rules apply, you know like don’t be a dick and shit, but I’m going to list some specific ones in the next section.
UNIQUE RULES
there’s no need to ‘ask’ to RP. If I followed you, it means I WANT to RP. send a meme, send me an IM, send me a starter. whatever! my follow or follow back is permission to write with me.
Please tag ANY AND ALL SEXUAL CONTENT. I am ace with sexual trauma and PTSD. Somedays sexual content is fine, other’s it creates problems for me.
I may drop threads without letting you know. but i’m not doing it to be a dick i just have shit memory. I might also have lost muse. CONTACT ME ABOUT IT. I’ll be super open about where the thread is.
I don’t queue or track replies with a thread tracker. I reply at random and sometimes instantly reply to threads. I might also loose threads so if I haven’t replied you can message me about it to make sure I haven’t.
I do NOT partake in Main’s or Exclusives. I feel this isolates people and makes people hesitant to reach out if they have the same character as one of my other partners. I will write with MANY versions of the same character because everyone does things different. I also follow duplicates and am not insecure in my portrayal. It’s unique to me! If you have anxiety around duplicates, this might not be the blog for you.
