SAKUSA KIYOOMI loses all of his edge when it comes to you.

it’s no secret that he has a reputation of being cold and aloof, sharp-tongued and straight to the point. what was once a coping mechanism long ago has since been ingrained into his personality and is second nature to him. aside from his coach, team staff, close friends and people he considers family, there’s no need for anyone else to held that closely to him.

no one needs to know that while he's grumbling over the phone about his upcoming PR schedule, he has your snoozing head resting in his lap and fingers carding through your hair.

no one needs to know that a mandatory goodbye kiss from you is required before leaving the house, if not his day is going to start off horribly and he'll be in a snappy mood, how dramatic.

no one needs to know that his tone softens whenever he talks to you, words sanded down, smoothened around the edges and laced with tenderness, not because you can't take it, but because why should he?

sakusa kiyoomi shows his love in private, he doesn't need to prove it to anyone, certainly not the press, but he makes sure you know it very well, especially in quiet moments with just you and him.

Malfoy comes back the next morning, and the one after that. He fluffs Harry's pillow and tends to Molly's bouquets. He plucks at Healer Willowisps' diagnostic spells but doesn't take notes on his clipboard. He doesn't take charge.  It's a yes now, always, whenever Harry asks for his time.  I'm thinking of taking a walk in the courtyard. Will you come with me? Ron is swinging by with pizza later. Do you wanna have a quick lunch with us?  Have you ever seen Star Trek? I might need a break from Lockhart, do you wanna watch that instead?  Will you stay? Stay?  Stay?  It's always a yes. 

Personal thoughts

I love a good hurt/comfort just like the next guy but this, guys. This fic. My god, I haven't read something quite like this in a while. I couldn't stop once I started it and the plot twist at the end *screams* I didn’t see it coming at all but once I re-read it (because, of course) I noticed all the little hints that led to that ending which made it even more heartbreaking, it was there all along! What I like the most about this fic is the gentleness and softness of the pairing, the writing is impeccable and it shows how much care the author put into the story, they hold your hand all the way to the end.

you found this out on accident one night as you were heading to bed, him already passed out while waiting for you.

he’s laid on his back, covers pulled up to his chest and toned arms resting above plush white as he very softly snores. it’s been tough on him lately with having to get up early and return late, he ends up succumbing to slumber much earlier than usual.

caleb seems to have some sort of obsession with holding you in his arms. any chance he gets, he has his hands around your waist, tugging you closer, or pulling you into his lap to cuddle you close while you’re watching a movie together. and at the end of the movie when you inevitably fall asleep as usual, he loves getting to pick you up princess style and carry you to bed.

another thing he seems to have an obsession with is your legs and specifically, your thighs. he loves to hold them in is hands, massage them over his lap, have them wrapped around his head..

you don’t mind any of it one bit, because if there’s one thing you seem to have an obsession with, it’s caleb’s arms. he works out almost every day and weight training is a part of his regular routine. you love to ogle the slight veins that bulge out around his biceps and hold onto them whenever you get the chance.

today, he comes back from the gym while you’re in the kitchen eating a snack. he drops his gym bag on the floor by the front door, before making his way over to you. he wraps his arms around your waist from behind and pulls you towards his chest, before leaning down to kiss your temple.

“welcome back, colonel,” you tease as you set down your food to hold his arms around you.

“hey there, pipsqueak. get up to anything interesting while i was gone?” he asks in return, a soft smile on his face.

you shake your head. “nothing interesting. just watched some tv and made a snack.” he hums in acknowledgement.

you move to turn around in his arms so that you’re facing him, and take the chance to place your hands on his slightly swollen biceps.

“how was your workout?” you ask as you run your fingers along a vein near the inside of his right elbow. he lets out a soft laugh at your obvious admiration.
