I'm just gonna write my random thoughts on each episode.

Episode 1

I love that Dante tries shielding Patty from violence and acting nonchalant about it. Yeah, sometimes he didn't do it but when he had the chance he did. By pushing down her hat to cover her eyes. Or waiting until the train is in a dark tunnel before killing a demon.

The imagery...Patty is in a maze of confusion and fear until Dante comes and it's flowery again. The road to happiness she had imagined for herself.

Dante shooting down the curtains to shield Pattt from witnessing the violence.

But she's still bloodied. Patty has seen violence. She's become desensitized to the idea of it at least. And the episode ends with her witnessing the killing.

I love this visual storytelling. It doesn't have to rely on crude, artless chitchat to get the point across.

Neeee, another random idea. Maybe I'm a lil in my cup but I'm imagining what Dante and Vergil would be like intoxicated 🤣 even though I can only see Vergil drinking because of some stupid competition Dante proposed just to try and see his brother loosen up 🤣 but anyways it's more of a non serious idea that I just wanted to see your opinion on 🤔 we saw Dante enjoy some wine in the 07 anime, so I do believe his tolerance is quite high but for some reason I can't see the same for Vergil, maybe just because I think it's funny but also because where and when and why would this man be drinking like Mr. "always in control" over here would not give in to alcohol so easily so in my head that equals lightweight.

ASAKJDSNF if i remember correctly in the first dmc novel when it was originally thought that gilver was vergil (before it got scrapped to be implied, he was a nelo angelo prototype created by mundus) when dante was under the tony redgrave alias he challenged gilver to a drinking contest and gilver lost HORRIBLY. i think that might have been where the headcanon comes from that vergil probably can't handle alcohol.

dante definitely seems to have high tolerance, or maybe it could be some half-demon perk where he can't get drunk (kind of like deadpool's rapid regeneration doesn't allow him to get drunk either), but as depressing as it is i like the idea that dante just has high tolerance from drinking heavily. and personally, yeah i like the headcanon that vergil is a lightweight since he seems the type to not divulge in drinking too much. and you're right about vergil being the type to not want to hinder any of his senses from beverages but definitely would not be able to resist it if dante challenged him to a drinking contest simply because they try and one-up each other constantly.

also, to me, vergil gives off the vibes he likes wine and cognac, something diluted and expensive for his taste, and dante seems to enjoy wine and whiskey as well, preferably stronger.

Have been doing math after finding out DMC 4 takes place in 2005 and since we know ages in that i could do math!

Dante and Vergil were born 1968

gonna go with September 2nd cause of Vergil's VA's birthday. Apparently a lot of ppl associate their bday with his.

DMC 3 takes place in 1987

DMC 1 takes place in 1996

DMC 2 takes place in 2000

DMC 4 takes place in 2005

DMC 5 takes place in 2010

My DMC AU

Selena is the daughter of Lucifer in both gameverse and Netflixverse.

Shes half angel/half human who has an angelic trigger instead kf a devil trigger. She ends up looking like a form of seraphim.

Gameverse:

- she grew up knowing and being friends with Dante and Vergil

- she thought they both died in the house fire, having seen the aftermath

- didnt start dating Dante till the 07 anime after coming back around after the events of DMC 3

- they have twins after DMC 2

Netflixverse:

- still figuring it out, but i love them.

hey love your takes on dmc so what’s your thoughts on dmc timeline retcons?

I don't really have too much to say about them, it kinda just makes sense with the series switching directors and them playing kinda fast and loose with each entry. it's why I side eye people who act like the series has this ultra strict lore when it really doesn't. they shuffle things around all the time and there's a lot of vagueness surrounding certain events.

(for context, dmc2 was the last game in the series chronologically but then with dmc5 they moved its place in the timeline before 4, the novels are canon but gilver's identity now doesn't make sense because vergil's character was entirely changed between 1 and 3, the 07 anime was retroactively canonized tho they changed things like making morrison a black man instead of an old white guy)

Good morning/afternoon/evening, '07 anime anon here to ask stuff again(I'm so sorry, I just love your ideas)

But first of all, thnx for feeding us with the new post!

The questions came from the long anon ask and some others, does that mean the characters have no difficulty/penality in messing with the game code?How did they even find that out?

And if certain major characters are able to hear us other than the main gang, did they ever realize something when the main gang messed with the codes and/or tried to use it, even for their advantage? After all, in DMC4 they have underground laboratories with demonic stuff. I am quite curious to see what would be going on in those cases!

HI HI 07’ ANON! THANKS FOR SENDING MORE ASKS!! I really don’t mind answering little bits like this bc it lets me fill in things I hadn’t thought abt before abt this AU I made! Especially since I made it on a self indulgent whim.

Okay so for your first question (as in the one abt how they found out about the code) there’s no penalty when it comes to messing with it. Now that doesn’t mean it wasn’t difficult at first, the code definitely wasn’t easy to manipulate but over time, they managed to subdue it since they’re technically part of it too, to some extent. If they could fight godlike demons, breaking their reality isn’t really out of the realm of possibility. The first to find this out was Dante! Since the player sees the dmc verse through him the most, he eventually figured out a way to take control himself little by little thanks to the player and thanks to that, the rest of the cast did so too!

As for the second question, yes! Enemies like for example Nevan or the priest could mess with the code but it depending on who it is, they’d either leave it be, or use it for very different reasons. (I could elaborate on these two characters I just used but I’ll leave you guys to guess bc i actually wanna use them for future oneshots!) But even if they did, the main cast wouldn’t let them get far and resolve it on their own before it could effect their little darling’s play throughs! Unless it was something harmless, of course ;)

Hey so... I got really obsessed with DmC games and when I get obsessed with a game I focus on the fashion so I drew, they're kinda shitty tho

First off I'm still getting through Dmc 5, (I'm watching Dmc since I 1) am shit at video games 2) don't have a console) but I've been interested in the series for a while but never really knew how to get into it. Then the anime came out and I watched it and I was like ok this is cool lemme try to get into the games and looked for a playthrough. Then I finish Dmc 1 and realized the new anime kinda sucks especially with the way they did Lady ... anyway outfits notes from A loser with no fashion degree (not that I want one fashion is subjective)

I'll start from least to most favorite no shade

Dante's 4 It goes hard I'm not gonna lie but I don't rock with the cowboy vibe as much as 1's villain vibe with the turtle neck. 3 and 5 are hard to say which one I like more, I like the lazy kinda laid back style of both, not to much simple fits but 3 has the vibe of a lazy teen while 5 is a hobo fit and I love them both.

Lady's first outfit in 3 was great I love it she look like a woman going to war which is exactly what happened. 5 on the other hand which was my least favorite starting out looks like she's going back to war which again lowkey happened, it would've been my favorite cus I love the button up with cropped jacket and something about a strap going across the top of the chest is so attractive to me but I wish they'd given her actual pants instead of shorts and chaps. 4 is simple and to the point, they wanted to show off her assets and I'm gay so ya know. I like the suit coat and random ass chest strap kinda wished she still looked like she was going to war. I do love that gay ass suit lady wore in the 07 anime too.

With Trish you can tell you know they peaked with that first design and kinda didn't know what else to do (or didn't care) but 5 is still my least favorite, why you ask... they peaked with the cropped corset. That leaves 1 and 4 with just the design of the corset and in that department and 4 looks the prettiest.

With that concluded this doesn't mean I hate any of them I like all of them I just like some more than others

DMC 07 episode 2 thoughts:

I know Vergil never phsycially appears in this series but I believe his spirit kinda haunts the narrative.

When Dante hears the biker Vincent talk about his dead brother and wanting revenge, Dante breaks his usually mood to call Vincent's brother an idiot for getting himself killed and Vincent himself for trying to avenge him. It shows really Dante isn't into obsessive revenge plans.

And when Vincent's mind is all messed up by the demon, Dante says: "What are you going to do, going this far to follow your brother?" 💔

In the end Vincent visits Dante to thank him. He also says "I heard the voice of my brother saying 'It'd be a waste for you to die'. I'm done chasing his memory."

I really believe meeting Vincent was good for Dante. Helped him move on a little bit. Also Vincent took him on a dinner date later.

Other thoughts: love the idea of a demon that turns into a motorcycle to psychologically torture bikers to death. Not every demon has world conquering plans

The imagery was great once again and especially the sound work done that how these demons get into people's heads.

I listen to a LOT of music, right? mostly the DMC soundtrack. so heres some shit i just found interesting while listening and noticing stuff, in no particular order:

In Nevan's theme, if you listen really closely from about 1:15 - 1:27, you can hear a background track really similar to 0:31 - 0:44 in Ultra Violet. Its not exactly the same but it was similar enough to make me pause for a minute and go back to listen again. Similar to above, in The Duel, if you listen closely throughout the song you'll notice that guitar riff sounds traumatically familiar to 0:37 - 0:48 in ASSAULT from DMC 2 (aka, that stupid fucking helicopter.) Intentional? Probably not, but i cant listen to that track the same way again lol The choir in Vergil 3 and Devils Never Cry are actually the same, just in Vergil 3 the pacing of it has been shifted a little, and in Devils Never Cry its a little slower also. It has the same notes in the same order otherwise. Also in Vergil 3, have you ever noticed how playful the track seems in parts? Most notably, the beginning? I plan to write a full analysis of all 3 of Vergil's themes in DMC 3, but i just found this interesting to note considering how otherwise serious the fight is. And also in Devils Never Cry, ive noticed the beginning sounds eerily like what you'd hear at a funeral, especially with that church organ in the background. Fitting, for a scene right after Vergil lets himself fall into hell. this one is probably obvious but can go unrealized, but DMC 5's Divinity Statue theme is the only DV statue theme in the series that isn't primarily a chior track. The track "Public Enemy", as it's named in DMC 5, is named "Pubic Enemy" on Spotify. Actually all of DMC 1's soundtrack on Spotify is a long sex joke. (Pubic Enemy, Red Hot Juice, Final Penetration, IM COMING!, and Blue Orgasm)

DMC 3's Mission 4 theme is actually saying all the deadly sins, which took me an embarassingly long time to realize. that squeaky noise heard in the background of EYE OF THE WIND in DMC 2 is actually first heard in ST-07 in DMC 1. For some reason i thought that squeaky noise was a DMC 2 exclusive thing because its just that annoying. Yamato 2 in DMC 4 from 0:15 - 0:50 uses the same kind of violin track that's used in most - if not all - of Arkham's scenes in DMC 3 (a good example being this track from 0:10 - 0:40), which i also find interesting considering how much of a story point Vergil was in that game, and how Yamato in a way represents him in DMC 4. anyway thats all for now i may reblog in the future with more discoveries if i find them :]

Jumping on here bc I keep seeing these comments about the (new) DMC anime. My overall rating for it is 3.5/5 ( subject to change but that's my current score ). It's not amazing, but it has some fun action and cheeky cameos, it pokes fun at itself whilst balancing the more serious plot points in the same essence as the games imo. Actual story? It had some really strong promising ideas that quickly hit a downward spiral especially the last few episodes with the VP, but I am curious if things might manage a hairpin turn back up to something interesting. At the end of the day I found it enjoyable, it got me reminiscing about the games and I'm working my way through a backwards playthrough ( started w/ 5, working thru 4, & will continue onward with 3,2, and 1 ) I also plan to rewatch the 07 anime as it's been 17 years for me lol - I'm seeing some pretty vehement emotions against the 2025 anime, folks are saying it's terrible and a disgrace to DMC, but I don't think such a harsh criticism is entirely warranted. If you boil it down to vibes it hit all the major notes that you get from the games - I'm saying this as someone who enjoys the games immensely; Folks are acting like the 2025 show is a fall from grace, but I think the rose tinted nostalgia might be clouding that perspective, which at the end of the day everything I'm writing and what I've read are just opinions about a piece of media, so it's about as unserious as it gets - but I would like to see more nuanced criticism of the show, I would encourage others to work their way through the franchise and form their own opinion, I'm curious to see what new viewers/players will take from the OG games along with both shows.

Update As Of 02/07/25

So... I have not written in weeks. I'm honestly not in the mood to write. I know I need to. I know I need to finish Alana's story... But... I'm not gonna force myself to write. I'm gonna try to get some writing done during my vacation time next month... But I can't make any promises, since I'm gonna spend some of that time with my best friend hunting my wedding dress and her bridesmaid dress.

I've begun streaming to Twitch and posting more to YouTube. I'm currently saving up G so I can play more of Armin's Alternate Life Route. Other than that, I'm streaming Devil May Cry 5 and Palworld.

I'm almost done with my Gaming PC set up! I've just gotta get the webcam and that's it! I got a pretty XBOX controller and a set of cat ear headphones in recently!

Other than in specifically MCL designated spaces, I'm not going by "Alana". I'm going by my real name or my Sailor Scout name. Since I'm using Sailor Melody more...

I can't get the venue for my wedding until the end of next month. But my fiancé and I have already started working hard to make the event as amazing as possible.

I think I've mentioned it before... But, since last September, I've been on a HUGE Devil May Cry kick. Nero is occupying my brain most of the time these days... Especially since I've started playing DMC5 on both my PS4 and my PC. Since then, my collection of DMC merch has grown like crazy. There are 2 acrylic stands of Nero on my dresser. I've got the art books. There's a button on a lanyard in my living room. Just in my office, there are 3 acrylic stands and a button of Nero on my desk, 3 keychains and a tin sign of Nero on the wall my desk is by, I'm designing 2 dedicated shelves to DMC, and there's a folding fan above my office closet. I've even made friendship bracelets for Dante, Vergil, Nero and V.

This DMC kick is so bad that I've commissioned @candysweetposts for a MCL illustration edit that will include Nero. And I'm currently waiting until my next paycheck so I can pay Drachea Rannak what I owe him for an image of Nero from DMC 5, Sailor Melody and Brock from Pokemon.

With Valentine's Day next week, my work week is crazy. And then, after I get off from work on Valentine's Day, my fiancé and I are planning on seeing Captain America: Brave New World at the theater... Since Marvel movies are romantic for us!

The US is a complete shit show right now. Soul and I have been complaining about it in the discord server like crazy and it's only gonna get worse. I'm actually thinking about not taking my fiancé's last name until after Trump has left office... Mainly because he is implementing Project 2025. I did not vote for what's going on. I've always voted against Trump and his cronies. I hate Elon Musk. And the main things that are keeping me hopeful are that AOC and Jasmine Crockett are working hard to defy what's happening and protect the people from this fascism.

Also, if you're in the Otome Haven Discord Server, then you'll know that I'm dealing with some personal stuff... I've had some questions about certain things my entire life, and I'm trying to get some answers!
