A look into the combat powers and tactics of Taber Lamburn

tiefling weaponmaster + paladin of ilmater, level 20.

(description of Taber) Raised in secret within the Lamburn family estate, Taber never expected to actually see combat. She has now been adventuring with the Seekers for the better part of a year, no longer a shameful secret but a proud paladin, and she fights with heavy, expertly-placed blows.

Weapon Master’s Strike: at-will power, class power, martial, weapon. Taber has trained with all manner of weapons, and she shows off her expertise by modifying how this attack affects her opponent based on the weapon she uses.

Grim Warning: encounter power, paragon power, martial, weapon. To send a message to her opponent, Taber puts her entire weight into a single vicious strike, making it clear that she can do even more than that.

Infernal Wrath: encounter power, racial power, reaction, fire. When she is caught off-guard by an attack, the flames deep within Taber’s soul flare up and scorch her opponent, and put the smell of sulfur in her nose.

Ilmater’s Martyrdom: encounter power, channel divinity power, divine, healing. Taber’s ace in the hole: when an ally is struck by a critical hit, she sacrifices some of her ability to heal, and Ilmater protects her ally in return.

Response: battleaxe: versatile, military, magical. Given to her by Ilmater himself after her successful paladin trial, Taber relies on her axe the most. It punctuates each attack with a flash of divine light.

Talon: heavy blade: military, magical, sentient. The soul of an ancient paladin of the Raven Queen can turn this broken black sword hilt into a blade of solid shadow. They are currently assisting Taber, as she was kind to them.

Taber kept her mind sharp in the Lamburn estate by learning as many forms of fighting as there were weapons available. Now that she has become a paladin, the magic she has been granted serves as a complement to her forceful blows.

In celebration of Starry Seas returning tomorrow on twitch, I had @topbanana-jam make this amazing tarot card of my ranger/cleric Regina, based on the backstory of her life as Vi’vianna Mordecai, her death by her husband, Castian’s hand, and her resurrection by The Wildmother. We decided on ‘The Lovers’ for the card because currently, she’s struggling going back to save her people due to her fear and past feelings for her husband, and her best friend since childhood.

It’s absolutely gorgeous and I wholeheartedly recommend checking out their work!!!
