hello it's me can I ask u (if you're so inclined/have time) if you could explain further about the theory of Kane making a deal with VEGA in the finale? I thought he was talking to the Duke and that VEGA was "a myth" (in his words...)? It's ok if you can't but you've piqued my interest :)

ok so in ep 19 when the burners were 1st meeting up after kane/vega wrecked shit downtown and "saved the day", julie pulled up to the scene after doing some quick research into his identity

she said "according to the files i found in kaneco databases, he's a spy from an organization called VEGA. which is based in cleveland!"

she shows a map, pinpointing exactly where the org's HQ is among a totally blacked-out map. ofc, we know after the grand reveal that kane most likely planted that data in case employees went sniffing around in the files to throw them off his trail, because it turned out that he was "vega" after all

... but why? at this point, kane doesn't know or even really suspect that julie is double-crossing him. that info is oddly specific to be planting amongst files that are highly restricted and can be accessed by only a few kanco employees.

assuming kane doesn't suspect julie to be the mole amongst his crew, there's certainly something there. maybe kane's double role as a spy is made up, but the organization he was associated with can be smthn substantial. also hehehe kane pretending to be a spy. meanwhile julie's life is literally nothing but pretending to NOT be a spy. parallels!

and from a writer's pov it would also be a fantastic set up for future seasons and a possible overarching goal to work towards. we never saw it come to fruition bc... stupid disney cancelled this amazing show! but imagine!!! cities outside of deluxe. mike str8 up says "everything outside of deluxe should be a wasteland! or maybe thats what kane wanted us to think..."

Kane the Control Freak covering up the existence of other civilizations possibly more advanced than even deluxe? makes sense to me

plus.. the tech "vega" used was extremely effective and extremely efficient, described by dutch as "not easy to build. or cheap". if deluxe has an expiration date soon due to kane's inability to successfully colonize motorcity, would he even have the means to build something like a powerful detonator in one single button?

or would a more advanced city be supplying detroit? a city that perhaps maybe kane is indebted to, giving him yet another reason to keep pummeling motorcity with everything he's got?

The only way Charles could be safe from Salacia is if he died, and once he does, he learns about the prophecy, and The Church of the Black Klok. So... does that mean that MMA beating Charles in Dethrelease/Black Fire Upon Us not only drives me insane, but is a crucial moment in the prophecy?? Idk if it HAD to be MMA or if it could've been anyone who "kills" Charles. I am of the personal belief that MMA's role in prophecy is to guide (albeit accidentally) Dethklok towards their destiny. It's when he's first hired to kill DK that the metalocalypse begins, according to Cardinal Ravenwood. it's only after his attack on Mordhaus that CFO learns of his role as The Dead Man, it's through rescuing Toki and Abigail that the band first uses their powers, the Dethlights. a series of tweets i found helpful and informative today re: joe's performance

so in summary: he wasn't throwing deep balls and it's hard to know why. he said in the presser that the patriots D "took the deep options away" and maybe that's true. but in that first tweet you can see that both ja'marr and yoshi are in single man coverage and breaking free. but joe doesn't even try to hit them. it's tempting to blame pass protection (as it has so often been the issue) but the pass protection was actually pretty good, some of the best of joe's professional career. but he honestly just looked spooked?! which i wouldn't blame him for, psychologically overcoming injuries is just as important and probably just as tedious as overcoming them physically. i imagine that can only improve with more reps.

saw a lot of people also blaming the wrist itself, and maybe that's true! he wouldn't say he was 100% last week and said he still has good and bad days. but it also doesn't seem like it really was affecting his throws at all, shallow intermediate or deep. the announcers certainly pointed out that he was fiddling with his wrist/shaking it around (and GASP wearing a glove!), but he's been doing that all training camp. what they showed on the broadcast was likely just him breaking up scar tissue.

so who knows! a lot went wrong in this game. play calling and scheme, run defense (although i also saw some tweets about how our D-line did well, our secondary still can't tackle though!), sloppy and undisciplined plays from everyone, along with some of joe's decision making (he also had some great plays! listed above!) we start slow, it just seems to be a given at this point. and i hope we can fix it. we have a track record of doing so, and you know the boys are pissed and watching the tape to see how they can improve. maybe they can fix it by the time we get to KC?

An Analysis on the Season 2 Trailer on Arcane (The part that caught my eye)

(marked where I stop yapping and actually start theorizing)

I recently watched the season 2 trailer of Arcane and was absolutely mesmerized by the visuals and upcoming plot developments that hints have been dropped on. Lots of things caught my attention for a while, but the one thing that I cannot get stuck out of my head for the life of me is this:

-Who is this character??

-What do they have to do with the plot?

-How awesome is this design I mean seriously

My first thoughts when I saw this character is that they could be another new character being introduced in Season 2, like Warwick. This would make sense as a plot device, complicating the story further and adding more tension with more characters. Reasonably, they would also have something to do with one of three things- Hex tech, the (true) Arcane, or Shimmer. Otherwise, we haven’t seen any sort of world building that would showcase such a mystical being or species. Realistically, this being is either otherworldly or unnatural.

My thoughts after this were considring whether or not this character would be an ally to the main group of protagonists. (Jayce, Vi, Etc. Our stereotypical “good guys.” ) (If it interests me I may do an analysis on which characters I think survived the explosion.) -Any otherworldly tech or otherwise that has been shown on Arcane has either been created with malicious intent or turned to be used for malicious purposes. (Eg; shimmer, hextech war hammer, Arcane genocide.) This would point to this character being malicious, or at the very least a neutral party, similar to the firelights.

My focus was then turned to the creators, intentions and effects of each otherworldly material. The Arcane did not have much to bring me on this front besides the obvious information, and Shimmer has demonstrated it’s effects thoroughly and is a nearly confirmed tied up plot point, considering the production of shimmer is allegedly being stopped. This leaves only Hextech, or rather the Hexcore, which is what caught my attention at this point.

The Hex Core is a relatively transparent device, completely demonstrating in the show that over time it has been slowly corrupted and causes deep corruption, to the point of resistance to its handler. This is what leads me to believe that this is actually Viktor, gone through some sick character corruption.

-Reasoning

-Viktor is the main handler of the Hex core, and is the one who has corrupted it, and himself, using it. The effects on his body are dark purple, and like the figure in the trailer, periodically emit wispy strands from the affected areas. Viktor is also the only character we witness willingly performing these large-scale transformations on his body.

-Viktor could not be reasonably and effectively killed in the finale of Season 1 given his unfinished arc and previously expected ‘final form’ in the LoL game. His arc was not finished, and other scenes in the trailer are all signs of Viktor still being alive.

-This ‘final form’ that Viktor has, as interesting as it is, does not make very much sense to me. Despite the foreshadowing considering the hex claw, a true final form including an arcane corruption would make more sense. The inclusion of the hex claw could have been for multiple reasons. It could have been excellent foreshadowing, or It could be a nod to the original design and the LoL game. I’m not sure.

-It was Viktor’s intention from the beginning to use the hex core and shimmer to extend his own life, for reasons both selfish and selfless. This is a plausible arc that Viktor could go through considering the body modifications he’s already performed on himself.

-The actual proof that makes me think I have a shot at being correct

After thinking about my analysis, I decided to take a closer look at the silhouette figure, comparing it to Viktor’s face.

-Look how similar they are !!!

The eye shape, facial planes, jawbone structure and proportions are quite similar to each character, past the point of coincidence. The only visible features that I can point out a difference in is the shape of the ears and lack of hair. Even then, there are not many characters with a frame such as Viktor’s except for this one.

In conclusion, I think that Viktor is going to become a force of nature in Season 2. My hopes are that he will retain his sanity/humanity, and I’m not sure if I’ll be happy or disturbed if my theory turns out to be correct.

I had a lot of fun writing this theory and I can’t wait for season 2 next month I hope my theory is correct !! Maybe I’ll do another theory off of the trailers if this post gets more than like 5 notes lolz I wanna hear people’s thoughts

Writing below the cut, major spoilers for the end of Heart of Thorns and implied End of Dragons spoilers but nothing explicit from EoD :]

Bloom

“Kill me, Commander.” Trahearne could hear his own voice tremble, as horror overtook his dear friend’s face. Around them all, their friends— Rytlock, Caithe, Canach, Marjory, Braham— were exhausted. Worn thin by the fight against the jungle dragon, both physical and within the Dream.

“What? No! Mordremoth is dead. We destroyed its mind from the inside.” The commander protested, their fingers curled around the hilt of Caladbolg.

“But I still hear its voice.” Trahearne looked down at his hands, twisted and blighted as they were. His body was not his— he was corrupted. It was only cruel fate that he had kept his mind this long. Or perhaps something more sinister.

“Mordremoth is alive. One last hateful vestige… a terrible seed, planted deep in my mind.”

Trahearne’s hands curled into fist, as he took a deep steadying breath.

“You must kill me, Commander, before that seed grows. Before… before Mordremoth reclaims what it has lost.”

He reached out now, hands on his friend’s shoulders. The tears streaming down their face broke his heart. He did not want this. He didn’t want to hurt them, to see them suffer so.

Trahearne wished there was another way.

“What is left of me can’t survive on its own, my friend.” He croaked, and felt the Commander tremble beneath his hands. Were they always so small?

“Strike now or—“

Against his will, a rage rose up. A sick bile that boiled in his stomach and burned through his chest as his mind lurched.

Through his mouth, Mordremoth spoke.

“I am the future! I am this world! You cannot destroy me!” The dragon roared, hands tightening around the commander.

“Run while you can!” It took everything he had left to force his fingers to uncurl, to release the commander even as the dragon wanted to tear them to shreds to be remade anew.

Caladbolg flashed in the corner of his eye.

“No!” The commander yelled. Strike true my friend! Trahearne wanted to yell. But he couldn’t, and his mind went dark.

There was no great explosion. There was no dying scream.

If you asked those present what happened, none of them gave any concrete answer.

Canach hesitated to answer, but would confirm that Mordremoth was no longer hounding his mind, or any of the sylvari.

All Rytlock would say was that the confrontation wasn’t pretty.

Caithe mourned Trahearne, in her quiet and melancholic manner, and asked not to push the matter further.

Braham would scowl, shake his head, and shove his way past, unwilling or perhaps unable to describe that final blow.

Marjory Delaqua, normally so elegant and clever with her words, who could see the twists of a plot before anyone else— when she was asked, she could only shake her head and reply ‘I don’t know’.

The Commander didn’t answer at all, because no one was able to find them to ask.

Eventually, researchers at the newly established lab of Rata Novus confirmed what the entire world held its breath to hear.

Mordremoth was dead. He had to be, to explain the slow steady trickle of magic escaping the jungle, supposedly as the dragon… decayed wasn’t the right word, but it conveyed the idea well enough. It was a slow death, they said, not quite the explosive reaction from Zhaitan, who had gorged itself on magic before its death, but a gradual decay. It changed things, about magic, about how the people of Tyria and the soon to be established Dragon’s Watch understood the flow of magic around and through the Elder Dragons. But it was dead.

It had to be.

He woke up. His body ached, as it always did, as he woke. A consequence of being too bigsmall. He stirred slowly, limbs stretching out and tail dragging behind. He had buried himself beneath massive vines this time, the weight of them both familiar and restricting. These conflicting sensations, the constant disagreement with himself… it was the only thing he could rely on. Even his name escaped his memory, although he could hear whispers of it on the edges of his mind.

Traherdremaneth.

It didn’t matter, really.

He moved slowly, not truly wanting to rise, but knowing he must.

He was something in between, and there was no stillness for him. No place of his own.

His one companion, if you could call it that, would be upon him soon. A dogged purserer, both a thorn in his side and a trusted ally, trailed behind him. For a time he thought they left him— and the feelings that had wrought left him stationary in a deep cave for nearly a week before they had reappeared.

He didn’t want them close, he knew that much, but they were one of the few things he had, a consistency. He couldn’t see them well, not with the distance between them, but he could always make out the broken blade at their hip. The one that made the scar across his chest ache.

He wondered what would happen if he let them get closer. Would they strike? Would they know him?

They were his enemyfriend. What would they make of him? Caution kept him at a distance from them.

The longer he was awake, the more memories he could half-remember.

The Orrian landscape stretches out before him and it reeks of his sibling, twisting beneath the dirt. The undead don’t notice him, not yet, and he can take a moment to look closer at the coral. It was neither alive nor dead. Not unlike himself and yet so different to him or anything he had ever encountered before.

He missed his siblings, their quiet talks among the then empty roots, among safe coils with their constant presence around him. They were too distant to feel or simply gone now and it unnerved him. This was wrong. Perhaps they could help him make it right.

There was one other thing, other than his sort-of companion and his unsteady roiling mind, that remained constant. And this was the true constant. A steady beacon, that he could not see or hear, but simply felt in a way that he could not describe. A magnetic sort of pull that had him orbiting closer and closer.

It drew him in, out of the depths and dark underbelly of the jungle and the cave systems, towards the strange golden stones, the elegant walls meant to keep out creatures that wished to destroy the beacon. He was not welcome there, not yet, even though he meant no harm. He just needed to be closer.

He didn’t know how he knew that. He just knew it.
