Awaken chapter 5

It's been a long time lol but finally have an update!

Summary: Strickler’s training with Blinky and Aaarrrgghh in Trollmarket turns out to be exhausting to deal with, on top of managing his human life and Bular, so Strickler proposes to Jim the idea of getting Douxie involved for some much-needed added support, despite Jim’s reservations.

An encounter with goblins forces Strickler and Jim to seek out Douxie anyway, although Strickler’s concerns about Jim’s safety stir emotions between the changeling and future-past Trollhunter.

on the way home from a quest Aja, Jim, Krel, and Toby meet profit named Douxie he predicts that Krel Aja and Toby will die and Jim will lose his humanity if they attempt to go back home

Jim eventually gets home and shocks the town that thought he was dead Steve doesn’t believe it to be him and challenges him to a duel to prove it Claire watches as Jim kills Steve and upon this death Jim turns to a troll and looses Claire

Jim is left all alone outcasted by his people and by his lover and in the story’s drawing moments Douxie appears at Jim’s side and says a single thing

“Did I not warn thee that to go home is to lunge at a fate worse than death?”

Ok,ok, soooo, just a little thought hear but, my mind was racing around intreaging AU senators to TOA and one piped up in my head.

What if, when Steve, Claire,Douxie,Jim and Toby ( I’m adding Toby because we need a best friends reunion and we were robbed of it. Anyways, whe they fall in the rift what is they got separated, for example Claire and Douxie end up being in the same place with the nights, Toby and Steve are rescued by Claire’s shadow portals in her panic but they end up being flung into a different part of the Forrest perhaps closer to a town or village outside Camelot’s walls but still in its borders, and Jim ends up somewhere entirely different, and wakes up both confused and alone.

I don’t know why, but I thought this was an interesting concept to think about, in a searies point of view rather then just ten eps. For example Claire and Douxie end up descovering the flaws in camalot, the truth behind morgana and just how hatted magic is among Camelot’s people, whilst also finding a way to exit camalot without screwing up the time line and find there friends. Toby and Steve team up and problem solve ways in which they can find the others, learning more about the past, and the perspective outside just camalot, on trolls, and humans alike, the good the bad, and ugly, it even could be that those two run into blinky this time.

And then there’s Jim, ok so I may have made this one a little more dark then it should but bare with me. Jim at first wakes up in the woods, alone, I wanted to explore this because of his time in the dark lands and how he would cope alone again. I changed the shard aspect, rather then it in his amulet, it’s in his shoulder, which is worse because in this AU, the orders shard acts like a poison, slowly working its way to his soal befor corrupting it, but rather then just under Arthur’s control, it slowly takes away his sentience,and with his conection to the amulet, the corruption shows as his armor and body starting to form into one large beast.(I’m sorry, I would never want this for Jim) it would be interesting how he would cope, battling his wild and human instincts, blacking out, and learning things about the gum gums this time, that he had never realised befor. Perhaps leaning more about hedge wizards, trollhunters lor, because I also when’re with in this time daya is not the first trollhunter, only because it makes more scence in construct of time. I am still keeping big distance Cal with Jim , because that’s gold, but this time she through Jim’s predicament builds her strength in helping the future trollhunter in reuniting with the others, both coming to terms with how they are perceived by others as ‘ calamity’ and ‘beast’ on the way. This would explore a versify of different sides of the past, even encountering creatures that are mother troll or human, or anything we’ve scene in cannon, the un scrntiamt creatures.

Also yes they will all end up convening together and having one big happy reunion befor the storm, learning the information about the order they needed,and returning home, but with both good and bad news.

Plus’s this whole past adventure, would take place over the horse of several months, lots more time to uncover the caos and find out how to get home.

Anyways I may wright this but before I do, would anyone be interested in reading something like this that dives more into the past of camalot in and around the castle, some canon elements still standing, I’d appreciate some thoughts, and suggestions to things that may make it more interesting.

I recently got into Tales of Arcadia and really enjoyed it! (Except for the movie because what the heck was that, we all hate the movie but ANYWAY.) I’ve been reading time travel fix-its so that’s where I’ve been. And also looking for fics about Jim/the original trio which. Are harder to find than I expected. Everyone seems to want to write about Douxie for some reason? I mean, Douxie’s great, but… I like Jim and Claire and Toby better. Or at least, I’d rather they have more page/screen time in the stories I read. And Aja and Krel have like… Very Few Fics. I haven’t gone looking for stories about them, though. Anyway, I desire more Jim (and Jlaire, if I’m being honest) angst and hurt/comfort, and time travel fix its aren’t my favorite thing in the world (even if there are some super amazing ones) so once I’ve finished a few of my other stories, I may end up writing Jim angst.

Here's my thesis: Toby deserves to suffer and die

Just once I want an AU where he's absolutely miserable

Jim suffers all the time. Douxie and Claire can't catch a break in AUs or fics. Aja and Krel even have their share of angst

Here: Claire is my second favorite character. Everytime I see an AU with Claire just going through massive pain, I want to cry AND die. Because these AUs or fics are always so peak, but in a way that makes my stomach churn. She's my pookie bae. She deserves only the best.

Claire's suffering fills me with sorrow

Toby's suffering fills me with happiness

Toby is such a goofy ahh dude because everyone always shits on him in the show, most of the fandom forgets about him, and all my friends think he's so morbidly obese that he killed his cat by rolling over onto it

But then he's just... happy? Somehow the least miserable out of everyone? Most content? No self-doubt in sight?

And then he's always portrayed as the happy innocent sidekick who can do no wrong

Well I say NO MORE

I CRAVE a fic, an AU, fanart, I DONT CARE, where Toby is just going through pain after pain after pain. They're not just throwing rocks they're throwing BOULDERS. I want him to cry, I want him to sob even, and most of all I want him to get like no comfort about it and just wallow in his misery until he either DIES or the fic/AU ends

Better yet, I want Toby on the verge of insanity. Villan Toby is so peak because NOBODY WOULD EXPECT IT!! Angst everywhere, and the best part is that Toby is a psycho!! My favorite flavor of him.

I need Toby to go batshit insane or roll into a ball and cry himself to sleep. Or both.

Make angst of Toby right after season 1 where he's pretty much alone because AARRRGH died and Jim went to the Darklands, but Toby has to be positive because Claire and Blinky are suffering too. Make Toby upset about everyone leaving him for New Jersey. Make Toby feel absolutely useless because of everybody else's suffering and him not being able to help and then that puts him in an endless cycle of self-loathing.

One of my recent fics, the priest that you ignored might qualify because the main character of it tries to bait her friends into killing her.

Out of my recent fics it has to be Body Temperature Restored, since Gideon gets brought back from the dead.

One of the major reasons why I no longer post on FFN is, well. Let's say I get 100 reviews over the course of a couple months. 90 of them are those "pay me to draw fanart" scams. 9 are queerphobic hate comments. 1 is genuine.

Meanwhile, AO3 is so much nicer.

The closest I have gotten is fade-to-black foreplay.

10. Do you write crossovers?

Generally no, but I do have a couple crossover plotbunnies hopping around my head.

Once someone offered, but otherwise the closest I've ever gotten is writing a fic in German for my German class, rewriting it in English, and then uploading both versions.

Nari comes with bad news. The Arcane Order have arrived. And Skrael wishes to meet. Only for the meeting in question to end in disaster...

About the Big jim/Jumbo au !! How old it's jim ? ( I'm gonna elaborate )

Is he like physically an adult while his mind it's still of a kid/tennager ?

Or he's like one of those kids/teen's that just are really big, but are still growing and maturing phsysically as well as mentally ?

Personaly I think that the later would be more interesting. As angst with the literal metaphor that merlin forced his expectations upon on how a trollhunter should be, on jim

But also cause it could be funny or cute for light-hearted moment's !! Like " hey you just got beat up by a pup ". Or even just jumbo having that child-like wonder and curiosity for stuff and the like

Also Do him and arrrgh bond over their similar backstories ? And being gentle-giant's ?

And before I start yapping too much, I just wanna say again that I LOVE your big jimbo design !! Like, he looks to have as much bulk as draal or even more. I bet that he could throw Gunmar into space like that

BUT he also look's beyond adorable belief !! He's like a buff trolll plushie and I love him so much >:D. You managed to combine buff and cute perfectly.

In this AU, Jim, in terms of age, at least when he meets Toby, is 16-17 and had been with Merlin and Kanjigar for about 8 years

His half troll state is sort of between ages as relative to humans, he’d be a teenager, but relative to trolls, moreso a young adult of about ~50-70 years minimum (mostly cause of his presumed mental age)

Now in the case of AAARRRGGHH!!, since this AU has changed a lot about the original story, AAARRRGGHH having been given away to Gunmar’s army at a young age didn’t occur as Gunmar is instead King of the Trolls instead of the Skullcrusher, King of Gumm Gumm etc

Though that doesn’t have too much affect on AAARRRGGGHH!! gentle nature, actual instead has a bit more affect on his combative side

Now he does however bond with Draal and Douxie

LoK au Douxie! His mom is from the water tribe and his dad is fire nation. He grew up in the South Pole, and after his mother was killed in an unfortunate attack, he was adopted by his younger half brother’s mom

he's also obviously painfully a homosexual

Avatar au in my brain, but slightly to the left. Thoughts is that Douxie’s father wanted to make an artificial avatar, a powerful being he could control for his own purposes. But the spirit he captured and infused in his infant son refused to cooperate resulting in the baby nearly dying until his father had to abandon the project altogether. It left Douxie sick and weakly growing up and not without scars. But it also left him tainted with spirit energy resulting in him unlocking a type of bending previously known only to spirits and the avatar themselves. Energy bending.

So, essentially, this is just me creating an excuse for Douxie to have what is basically "magic" in the atla universe

After Douxie’s mother died, Barbara adopted him, knowing that no matter how angry she was at her ex-husband, she couldn't blame a suffering child for it

Jim, his younger half brother, is something of a waterbending prodigy. Douxie, believed for a majority of his life to be a nonbender, loved to watch his baby brother be so good at something. To love it clearly and want to be good at it

Since Douxie had been sickly for basically his whole life for unknown reasons living with a healer proved to be beneficial to him, especially during the times when his overall health would decline rapidly at the drop of a hat

At one point it got so bad that he had to be seen by specialists in Republic City. Jim went with him for moral support, which is where they get tangled up in Avatar shenanigans and Korra accidentally activates Douxie’s long dormant spirit abilities and energy bending

Fun notes: he and Korra probably would have met sooner if she hadn't grown up in what was essentially a military compound. Their parents were pretty close friends, and it's a shame they never got to meet before Republic City.

I have a lot of lore for this au and plenty of angst, including Douxie being so goddamn scared of himself that he begs Amon to take his bending away. But since his isn't exactly "bending" and more basically just "spirit magic" it doesn't work.

Don't know when I'll start really writing this but it's gonna happen eventually.
