Turks also wear crescent and star insignia, such as rings and accessories, to show their respect and loyalty to the flag. Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code stated that “Any person who publicly insults the Turkish nation, the state of the Republic of Turkey, the Grand National Assembly (parliament), the government of the Republic of Turkey, and the judicial organs of the state shall be punished with imprisonment from 6 months to 2 years.” The article also states that “if the insult is committed by a Turkish citizen in a foreign country, the penalty will be tripled.” As for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the flag bears a great sensitivity to him and he feels a responsibility to protect it. Here's a simple step-by-step tutorial on how to draw a Brothers Day cartoon:
