⭐️ c!Ranboo from the DreamSMP is a borzoi.

Borzoi just means fast. That’s what it means. This dog is named kachow. The Borzoi was popular with the Tsars before the 1917 revolution. For centuries, Borzois could not be purchased but only given as gifts from the Tsar. The Borzoi is an affectionate and athletic breed of dog with a calm temperament and high trainability. I have seen them described as “cat-like”. They’re not great beginner dogs, and look like fucking worms on a string. Older dogs can be quite mellow, tend to be spatially aware, and often curl up in one spot to sleep for up to 18 hours a day. Like greyhounds, I imagine their speed goes in bursts rather than endurance, allowing them to catch the rabbits they were meant to catch.

also i feel like only drawing complex designs when you first start doing art would make you get frustrated and burn out soooo much more quickly than with other media/characters. plus you skip a whooole lot of steps in terms of what actual humans look like (normal hair and clothing etc)

i actually cannot imagine how it would feel a beginner artist in the genshin fandom. like being inspired to take up drawing bc of genshin and realizing oh! these characters are designed in a way thats so overly complex that it makes them completely inaccessible for me!

actually i do love how tommy approaches roleplay with his dsmp character specifically the "shaky lore breath" and the "h-- hello?" sort of statements it unintentionally adds the feeling that ctommy is so inexperienced and fairly naive in a world that became serious so quickly. just because Some of us have been in online rp spaces and notice that these are fairly beginner writing choices. it just plays so nicely with his character arc as a whole. like that sort of meta understanding (again, probably unintentional on Tommy's part) lets you know so much about his character and how his real life experience influenced his acting. idk I just have a new appreciation for how he made me connect so deeply to his silly minecraft roleplay character . ctommy was just a kid who got thrown in the deep end without the maturity to understand and handle these huge, heavy things, and the goofily dramatic roleplay choices just go to show you how much he was Not ready for them. dsmp is such a complex piece of media to unpack and analyze but just AUGH
