Earthspark theory
Why do the tunnels only react to Hashtag, glow red for the Terrans and doesn’t react at all for the seekers (spoilers for s2)
Hashtag controls the tunnels and the tunnels are Terratronus. Terratronus is a titan so that mean Hashtag can control a titan!
Hashtag = Cityspeaker????
As for why the tunnels glowed red for the Terrans, they are very closely connected to Hashtag (the supposed cityspeaker) hence why it did react but not in a way they wanted it to.

(Contains spoilers)
I was just thinking about the "second chance" that Earthspark talks about and realized the show captured the essence of it well.
Remember what Nightshade said in defense of the Tarantulas?
"Everyone deserves a second chance. Whether they're Human, Autobot, or Decepticon."
It's also the exact words Dorothy said to Nightshade, read it with as much focus on the second sentence as the first.
They said whether they're "Human", "Autobot", or "Decepticon," not just "Decepticon."
Why?
Because, second chance that they talks about here, is not just a mercy that "good" gives to "evil."
Think about it.
The someone who gets a second chance is the one who did wrong, and the someone who gives them a second chance is the one who makes them good.
However, if this is simply interpreted as the Autobots giving the Decepticons a second chance - that would not escape the dichotomy that the Autobots are always good and the Decepticons are always evil.
But that's not truth, is it? Taking one side doesn't suddenly make them righteous or evil. It's about what happens inside of them and how their behavior changes.
Megatron repented not because he cooperated with the Autobots, but because he had changed himself.
Tarantulas plunged back into the darkness which he so wanted to escape, to become someone better.
Starscream risked his life to save his friend, and eventually made a heroic choice, but is also still Starscream.
That's what Earthspark wanted to tell us about true second chance. It's an acknowledgment that anyone – regardless of faction or race – can do wrong, but despite it, an affirmation that we can be better.

My theories for season 2 now that I am blocking off all leaks:
For the first two episodes, I’m gonna guess that the decepticon’s will have escaped and Ghost has been put to a stop, HOWEVER, there are some decepticon’s who are actually becoming good… possibly even Starscream or Soundwave? I’m guessing a few won’t due to trauma and other things. It’ll probably just be two training episodes, filling in on the relationship with breakdown and bee🤨 I’m guessing the series won’t state that Breakbee is canon yet, but maybe at the end of season 2, and maybe if there’s a season 3.
For the 3rd episode, I’m gonna guess Prowl shows up and it’s just an episode on them training, getting to know Prowl, and putting something out of peril, likely, the new enemy will show up and Prowl will probably state something about it, the Terrans will obviously be interested, but Bee will probably just tell Prowl off and state “no way man, they are wayyy to young and already putting off weeks of needed therapy” (even you, bee, go talk about your need to make out with bd)
4th will probably be very intense I’m guessing, the enemy will finally decided “hey I should check out these Terrans,” and if it’s tfe being tfe, bee is probably gonna be off doing some shit, probably kissing breakdown, anyways, I’m guessing the Terrans will fend their home with the help of the decepticon’s and that’s probably it, and the Terrans probably realize “hey I think we should put a stop to this.” ALSO IM HOPING NIGHTSHADE MEETS A HE THEY OR GENDER-FLUID DURING THIS EPISODE.
For 5-6th They’ll probably be putting some people out of peril and honestly just helping others, also *a lot of training*, they need to beat that mf uppppp
For the rest of the episodes, im still theorizing and hoping that they probably won’t be as pushed together as I made them, please drop your theories i will assasjnate for them!

So I have a theory
An Earthspark theory
The Terrans represent different Transformer planets/species/types, at least 7 of them:
Twitch: I want to say Caminus or Antila but I'm more convinced she represents either Prion or Cybertron, mostly due to her combination of swords and gun arm.
Thrash: Junkion due to his original color scheme and his no rules attitude as well as the fact that he has a shield and goggles. I would also say Velocitron due to his speedy alt mode and the goggles (which were sported by a Velocitron in the Cybertron anime)
Hashtag: Caminus, in her CitySpeaker abilities and her design sports a ponytail, which might be inspired by a character like Windblade.
Jawbreaker: Eukaris, given his shared name with a Maximal and Dinobots in particular, as his design echos some of the design elements of Transmetal 2.
Nightshade: Techno-Organics and Biosfera in particular due to their design having elements of the Beast Machines cartoon aesthetic in some ways (ie sleek body but little to no backpack or kibble in robot mode)
Spitfire: Devisun, due to the fact that she looks like Twitch and looks like her twin.
Aftermath: Combatron or Charr, if so for his rather aggressive nature and his alt mode being rather combat ready. I'd also say Junkion because of his alt mode being a tow truck and punk rocker attitude.
It's a work in progress but that's my feelings.

TF: One -> Earthspark as the same continuity: ramblings
I think it's interesting that Breakdown and Bumblebee could've met while racing in the Iacon 5000 (after BB recieved his T-cog). This would probably be between the time Megatron was banished and when the war started.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. This interaction's literally D-16 and Orion Pax. D-16 wanting Orion to listen? Orion wanting D-16 to stop challenging his decisions? THE TRIVIA BLURB AS CONFIRMATION OF THEIR PAST FRIENDSHIP?
3. The swap in temperament between Soundwave and Shockwave is interesting.
It's like Soundwave's patience is eroding everytime he goes through another leader. It's always been the case, but he's extremely loyal to his leader up until the point where he feels that they're ineffective; then he will do what he can to replace them with another.
Meanwhile, Shockwave starts off as kinda temperamental in TFOne. But if these continuities were one, it'd be assumed that he mellows out externally over the course of the war, but he still has that kind of innate rage he's always had.
To put it shortly:
Soundwave: cold exterior, angry interior -> angry exterior, angry exterior
Shockwave: angry exterior, angry interior -> cold exterior, angry interior
I can really just see Shockwave being the same guy just getting older over time. It's not much of a stretch to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. Bumblebee goes from being extremely lonely to being surrounded by family and friends, while Starscream goes from being surrounded by (at least) allies and troops to being extremely lonely. It's especially apparent when they're both talking to inanimate/inactive objects when they're isolated, like here.
I think there's some merit in Bumblebee helping Starscream through his loneliness for a hypothetical season 4 of ES if this were the case.

I went crazy last night and couldn't stop thinking of @numberonetribble 's breakbee fanchild Piston, so I stayed up real late drawing them! (I took a few creative liberties, if that's okay)
Tumblr media
When drawing this page, I had the stray thought of,, what if Bee didn't make it through Piston's birth? If that did happen I wonder how things would be with Breakdown having to parent all by himself,, hmmm,,, anyway it's supposed to be father-child bonding regardless of how you take it!
Tumblr media
And then!!!! I thought of a semi-angsty minicomic? two-parter, whatever it is, I'm kinda proud of it (Breakdown's back is fuuuuuucked bro, how do you draw that shet) (I lowkey think I'm growing an obsession with that cunticon, he's so charming)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wonder if Piston favors their sire because he acts more like the fun/reckless parent, while Bee is more protective/kinda sheltery, but that's just a theory...

Chaos Terrans, Chaos Energy, Terratronus, Starscream
Read time: 5 minutes
TLDR: Starscream ordered the Chaos Terrans to stab each other with the Cyber Slayer to charge it; The Chaos Terrans cared about each other genuinely; I wish Starscream studied Mandroid corpse.
ID: A clip from Earthspark S2E09. After Hashtag and Mo discover the Witwicky underground tunnels form a humanoid shape, we see Aftermath and Spitfire attempting to enter the tunnels with the Cyber Slayer at the entrance where the cave water was first discovered in S1E07. Aftermath unleashes a massive chaos energy blast through the weapon, shaking the chamber the Maltos sisters are in but having no effect outside. Spitfire takes the weapon, taunting, "My turn already - and you have to it with STYLE!" She spins the weapon coolly, only to release a tiny streak of energy. Aftermath teases, "Some STYLE you got there, Spitfire… or should I call you, Nofire?" Spitfire retorts, "Ha-ha-ha, and I thought you were just funny looking." Possibly misreading her mockery as praising, Aftermath proudly declares, "Aftermath is the complete package," before launching into a random battle cry. "I don't think you -" Spitfire's confused look changes into resignation. "You know what? Never mind." She lifts up the weapon and points it at her brother, "Just hold still while I recharge this - what's it called again?" "CYBER SLAYER," Aftermath reminds her, leaning down. "Wicked cool name for a weapon if you ask - Aaargh!" His words are cut off as Spitfire taps him sharply on the head with the weapon. He stumbles back, clutching his head as his embershard dims, emitting garbled sounds. Spitfire tosses him a bottle of cave water. After a long gulp, his embershard lights up again. Wiping his mouth, he smiles, "That does NOT get any easier, but what a rush!" Seeing the weapon charged with Aftermath's own energy, Spitfire grins, "Yeh? The next time we will trade." This time, she manages to unleash a powerful blast into the cave walls, causing rocks to fall around the Malto sisters but still no external effect. Frustrated, she asks, "Any doors open up yet?" "Ha! That's what we are doing here, sister?" Aftermath shrugs. "I stopped listening after Starscream said - " Switching to a more high-pitched voice, he imitates, "Take the cyber slayer - urrhhh". "Well, apparently, this thing's supposed to get us inside the - " Spitfire says as she continues to stab the cave walls, unleashing loads of energy. "Where?" Aftermath asks. "Yeh, Starscream left that part out." Spitfires stops, contemplating. "But he did say it will help with his BIG PLAN for taking out the Maltos and the Autobots." She seems to be convinced by the reasoning, and returns to her job at hand with an even stronger blow. This time, the wall shatters and starts glowing in red - the color of the chaos energy. Cybertronian letters appears on the wall with Quintus' symbol, "IN TIMES OF NEED HELP SHALL RISE TO YOUR CALL". Marveled, both Chaos Terrans paused, though they likely can't read it, and Spitfire soon resumed her stabbing.
Thought 1: Wow this is quite messed up!
I'm probably just slow, but on first watch I assumed the Chaos Terrans were able to channel chaos energy through the Cyber Slayer naturally, and thought Spitfire hit Aftermath with the weapon as a part of their mutual bickering. I only just realized they were taking turns stabbing each other with the weapon to keep it charged, and they were ordered to do so by Starscream.
Wow this is pretty messed up! "Hey kids take this weapon and go open a door for me. If the weapon runs out of energy, just draw each other's blood to recharge it. Try not to kill each other in the process and good luck!"
This seems extremely dangerous. The Cyber Slayer is not fatal, but it is fatal if the victim doesn't have access to treatment. And we all know if one of them accidentally goes completely offline, Starscream won't bother to treat them. I wonder if this is part of his plan.
Thought 2: Awww Siblings
The interaction between Aftermath and Spitfire is suddenly more wholesome, too. Spitfire didn't stab him out of malice. She warned him about the charging, gave him a very controlled knock on the head, and immediately tossed him a bottle of cave water.
Despite the contact being short and controlled, Aftermath was immediately sent into severe energy deprivation, falling and whining in pain.
It seems like prior to this Aftermath was the only one taking the blows, as Spitfire suggested "next time we will trade." I have been wondering how much Spitfire cares about her sibling, and it turns out she cares about him enough to volunteer drawing her own blood so he doesn't have to suffer repeatedly. And he didn't even complain about it, possibly because 1) he has one braincell and didn't realize it's unfair, 2) he cares about his tiny little sister and volunteered to take up more responsibility as the large big brother.
So it's... both messed up and awwww siblings. Wish to see them more in S2C / S3B / S4 ^ ^
Theories and Implications
This also gives a clearer definition on how they broke through Terratronus's defense system. Basically they just hit her repeatedly with condensed chaos energy. This might imply that Cyber Slayer enhanced chaos energy is stronger than Quintus power.
I wonder if Starscream would have been able to get himself out of Terratronus if he had access to chaos energy. And, maybe the Decepticons could have been able to escape the Quintus-powered bubble if they had access to the Cyber Slayer.
I'm also curious how Starscream learned he could break Terratronus' defense system with chaos energy. The only other person who's aware of this seems to be Terratronus herself. Starscream also seems to know it even before getting Croft's hard-drive. And it's unlikely that he got the information during GHOST imprisonment - GHOST knew nothing about the Emberstone until Mandroid told them about it in S1E20. Starscream escaped in S1E21, likely during he power outage in S1E20. And Croft didn't retrieve the stone for Mandroid to study until S1E22.
I think the only two possibilities are:
Starscream's science degree thesis was about chaos energy and it was a such niche field that none of the other scientists know anything about it.
Starscream got the information from Mandroid. Either he unearthed some of Mandroid's top-secret research on the Emberstone while helping the Autobots clean up the mess, or he reached this conclusion by studying Mandroid's corpse.

Do you think that Hashtag is a cityspeaker? She controlled those tunnels which were later revealed to be a titan.
I think it's a really cool theory! I'll have to rewatch episode 21 though; was she the only one who was shown opening the tunnel doors?

You know, after watching the last batch of Earthspark, I was really disappointed for a number of reasons. I was angry about it.
But then I learned the producers were treated terrible by Paramount and had no choice but to end a lot of things in season one, now I'm not mad at them at all. I instead curse Paramount forever.
so....I'll write some headcanons I was looking forward to in Earthspark. I maybe do a series of related posts. Today is about one of the most important characters, Starscream.
Warning! This post contains spoilers.
Let me make one thing clear: I have no beef with his redemption. No, rather, I believed that Earthspark would do it as a matter of course. I never once doubted it.
The one of themes in Earthspark is "Second Chance". Starscream is the character in the Transformers franchise who most deserved a second chance, the character who could become the most dramatically three-dimensional with a second chance. Even though S1C was made under pressure to wrap everything up quickly, his redemption eventually came, which is what the show was meant to do from the beginning. The problem is, because the story had to be wrapped up in one season, all the dramatic plot points, connections between moments that should have been important, and characterizations were weakened across the board.
We are happy with his Redemption, but this is Earthspark. Not TFP. That means, we once had the opportunity to explore Starscream's character much more deeply. Not just in one episode, but a few.
Especially since I was serious about what was hinted at in the Warzone episode, I was disappointed that it wasn't used in the story.
I've seen several theories about that episode, the conclusion was that Starscream was caught in the Space Bridge explosion and was officially declared dead. I was actually pretty sure. That's why his appearances were low throughout the season, and he survives the explosion, BECAUSE Allspark revives him and fuses with him, right?
It makes it natural for Megatron to talk about the battle like that way and reveal his trauma, especially if he thought he lost both Shockwave and Starscream because of his actions. (This explains Soundwave's anger too.)
So Starscream was treated as dead, but actullay he was secretly imprisoned by the evil GHOST. He was unconscious when it happened, so it would have taken him a long time to figure out what was going on. He doesn't know that others to think he's dead. He sees his comrades locked the cell and thinks Megatron has really abandoned them.
This misunderstanding would have been a very important source of conflict when he was later reunited with Megatron. I even expected him to be the one to reveal the truth about GHOST.
I was almost certain that the GHOST and Mandroid plots would carry over into S2, so I thought it would be a conflicted ending with Starscream revealing the truth at the end of S1. It would have been nice if Starscream's character to be explored at the beginning of S2, along with his redemption, and the past war story.
And that would have made for some interesting drama not only between him and Megatron, but also with Optimus.
Imagine if that really happened. Starscream insists GHOST is wrong. How do you think Optimus and Megatron would take it?
Yeah, I can hear their doubts up here.
The point is, Starscream is seen as untrustworthy. Megatron would have a 50/50 chance of trusting him, but Optimus certainly wouldn't. From his perspective, Starscream would be seen as trying to drive a wedge between him and Megatron and reignite the war. In this situation, no one is lying, but someone ends up being unfairly labeled a liar. Optimus would compromise for the sake of the people he cares about, but they wouldn't include Starscream.
And I think this is the perfect moment for Hashtag to appear!!
Like, she's going to show up and be one who believes Starscream. If she believes in him, so do some of the Terrans – not all of them for now – but eventually the Hashtag and the Terrans believe in Starscream, and it would be really touching if that led to his redemption!
(also it inspires Terrans to dig into the truth of the GHOST themselves)
After it was revealed that he had an Allspark inside of him, he must have had an internal conflict. When he realized that the hope of his home planet and their people lay within him, could he handle it?
He struggles with it, but eventually does something heroic to help the Terrans. Maybe he uses the power of Allspark.
Terrans believe in Starscream when even Optimus doesn't, and it changes him, it would have fulfilled the show's message – Everyone deserves their second chance.

Jawbreaker looks A LOT like Unicron
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They’re both a dirty orange color and brown, covered in horns/spikes and they have purple optics. Not to mention, Jawbreaker got his alt mode directly from the earth (which is not how any of his siblings got their alt modes) and we all know that Unicron is literally the earth. To add, Jawbreaker literally was born out of the ground. Or in other words —he grew out the earth. (Which again —Unicron IS earth). We even had a similar concept in Earthspark with Terratronus (a Terran with part of the earth built around her, but at a MUCH smaller scale)
And part of me was confused when JB had purple optics when no other part of his design had purple and his character had no purple effects or anything. How come he didn’t keep his blue optics like his twin sister? Or like his older brother? Maybe I’m over thinking it, but this thought has been in my mind since I saw JB’s alt mode design for the first time.

I had an odd theory looking over the TFE episodes (and I am writing this at like 3am so someone else could probably put it a lot better than I can)
What if Bee was a Decepticon at some point?
There’s a little bit of evidence for it - he seems to be on personal terms with a lot of the Decepticons, to the point of apologizing to one of the Insecticons during the battle for the Allspark. He has Decepticon tech - maybe Optimus gave it to him, I’m not sure? Either way, he seems to really know his way around it. Swindle seems to have a very personal vendetta against him, specifically referring to the Battle of the Bay, which is definitely an important battle as it’s when Megatron defected and Dottie lost her leg.
And then there’s the whole thing with Breakdown! I could be remembering this wrong, but does Breakdown mention Optimus “getting between” them or something? They could have been friends pre-war of course, and that’s more likely, but it just makes me wonder.
I’m sure there are other examples. And perhaps he was a spy instead. Perhaps I’m looking too much into this, haha. It just seems like it would fit into Earthspark’s theme of change, and would be something very new with Bumblebee, which they seem to be trying to do with a lot of the classic characters.

Another random thought considering the fact Bumblebee was thought to be dead for years, by humans and Cybertronians alike (considering Swindle and Nova Storm's comment on him) do you think there was ever a time where Breakdown thought Bee had died?
I mean even if there was I think he'd eventually find out the yellow car chasing him around the world at races was Bee ig.
But the angst potential is still there even for a brief moment during the end of the war if Breakdown thought Bee had truly died.

but if we're talking about other iterations and not in general, i ADORE earthspark arcee with a passion like holy shit I love her 😭😭
i don't really have any headcannons for those girlies except that moonracer would probably like listen to ateez or smth but that one is more self projecting 😭
likeee idk yall, agree with me on this one would moonracer listen to this or is delusion strong
