Tumblr media
Word Count: 3.9k
Summary: When everything seems to fall into place in Forks, Washington, a string of mysterious deaths call the attention of both vampires and werewolves in town. As the redheaded vampire returns with her mind set on revenge, (Y/N) and Bella Swan find themselves in the center of danger once again. Calm in a town like Forks was a mirage. Or, at times, it was simply a distraction. While the supernatural walked amongst the land, there would never be calm and tranquility. Their existence was enough to shift the balance of the universe, and it would always find a way to rectify itself. Even just a couple of days could send the small town down a whirlwind, regardless of who got caught in the middle of the current.
(Y/N) Swan didn't know that yet. At that moment, she thought she had faced her worst battle yet. She had survived a vampire attack; she had saved her sister from drowning in the ocean, and she had even endured an abusive relationship. There couldn't be anything else thrown her way that could be worse.
Or so she thought. But of course, hindsight is twenty-twenty.
Finals were approaching, and (Y/N) had never wanted to go back to homeschooling more than at that moment. For the better part of a year, she had been able to focus on her schoolwork at her own pace. In school, she had to submit to her teacher's pace. If she had it her way, she would have already been done with her year's curriculum. Instead, she was buried up to her nose in her and Bella's books.
“So, dad gave me another letter from Jacob,” Bella muttered as she closed her history book, seemingly over the topic. “Seems he really wants to talk. Although it seems he's not sure about what.”
Bella passed the piece of paper to her sister, her eyes searching for any answers on (Y/N)'s face. But the younger Swan remained stoic as she perused the letter. Jacob had started over seven times, angrily scratching over every sentence until he left a vague plea to see the older Swan and explain everything that had gone down behind her back. In between strikes, he said he felt like a schoolboy asking Charlie to hand over notes. He asked her to pick up the phone. He begged her to talk to him before he talked to her own sister. Most of all, he asked her not to choose Edward.
Every letter for the past few weeks had been the same. Angry and desperate requests to see Bella before (Y/N) told her the truth of what he had done. Every letter was accompanied by a frenzied call, his voice always distressed and anguished over the receiver and always picked up by Charlie. And every time, he received the same answer. Bella didn't want to speak to him, and (Y/N) had not said anything.
The younger girl wasn't sure why she was protecting him. Jacob had done atrocious things deliberately. He had manipulated, belittled, and dismissed her for months. He had quite literally left her for dead when she had faced a murderous vampire. He had used her feelings for him to get closer to her sister. Jake had chewed her up and spat her out when he had been done with her. And yet, she couldn't bring herself to turn her family against him—much to Paul's dismay.
(Y/N) had made Paul promise he would not tell anyone what Jacob had done. Not when Bella cornered him at night when he snuck in, not when her father tried to coax it out of him when he joined them for Saturday breakfasts or Sunday dinners, and definitely not when he had asked her to his senior prom in front of both Swans.
“When are you gonna tell me what happened?” Bella asked as (Y/N) folded the note back up. “Don't you think I should know if I'm ever gonna talk to him again?”
“There's not really much to say,” the younger girl shrugged as she closed the books in front of her. “I won't stop you from being his friend, Bella. Whatever happened between us happened—it's not gonna change no matter how much we talk about it.”
“What if I just ask him about it?” her sister offered. “Will you be fine with that?”
“You can do whatever you want, Bells,” she said. “But believe me when I say he’s not gonna tell you anything.”
“Don't you think I should know his true character if I'm gonna associate myself with him?” her sister pushed, exasperated. “(Y/N), the things I know he did are bad, but I need to know the whole truth if I'm ever gonna start to think to forgive him.”
Before she could answer or even give herself time to make up her mind, her attention turned to a peculiar smell in the air. The sisters exchanged a questioning gaze before leaving their books on Bella’s bed and following the scent all the way to the kitchen. There, Charlie was fanning smoke coming from the stove, the open window blowing the cloud back inside rather than helping to keep it out of the house. The smell of wood and pine mixed with the smoke in the kitchen created a choking and uncomfortable environment.
“What are you doing, dad?” Bella exclaimed as she opened the microwave only seconds before a catastrophe while (Y/N)turned off the burner their father had neglected. “Trynna burn down the house?”
“Oh! Girls!” he exclaimed as he finally noticed their presence. “I, uh, I was trying to make dinner.”
“You put a jar of sauce in the microwave,” the older daughter sighed. “With the lid on. Yeah, metal and microwaves don't really mix well.”
“Did I at least get the pasta right?” Charlie questioned expectantly. “It's just boiling water.”
“Well, yeah, but you should stir it too,” (Y/N) chuckled. “And maybe add enough water for the noodles inside. That usually helps the pasta not stick to the pot and burn.”
“I'll take that into consideration for next time.”
Bella and (Y/N) exchanged a worried look, knowing their father would not have been caught dead in the kitchen had he not had something to say. It was written on his face—something was clouding his mind. His brow was furrowed, his shoulders were tense, and there was concern plastered across his features. Charlie had something to say, and he was trying to let it go down with a plate of burnt spaghetti.
(Y/N) was the first one to talk, curious about her father's behavior. “What's going on, dad?” she inquired as she tried to clear out the burnt sludge in the pot. “Why the sudden need to cook us a meal?”
“It's not illegal for me to make a meal,” he argued. “Especially not in my own house.”
The sisters exchanged the same look once more, unsure what it could be that he was hiding. He was avoiding their gaze, focusing on the last bits of smoke that disappeared into the rainy day.
“You would know, huh?” Bella teased, staring at the badge shining on his jacket.
“Yeah,” he chuckled dryly. “Good one.”
Charlie was quiet after that, shrugging off his jacket and hanging it on the rack that had housed his gun sling for the better part of the week. Ever since the pack didn't have to investigate the odd slaughtered hitchhiker, no one had reported sightings of the massive, mysterious wolves. Of course, the man didn't know that, but he was glad the semblance of calm had returned to the small town.
Silence rained in the Swan household as Charlie sat at the table with the newspaper and Bella worked on cleaning the rest of the pasta pot. (Y/N) couldn’t handle the tension, feeling herself drowning in the unease of the room. There were too many unspoken words between the three of them, and there didn’t seem to be a confession coming from any of them.
“Well, why don’t I run out to the diner and get us some food?” (Y/N) offered. “Dad, thank you for trying to make us some dinner, but I would like to eat something tonight—something edible.”
“Yeah, that’s a good idea,” he said, clearing his throat. “Is, uh, is your, uh, boy, uh, friend, uh, your friend Paul coming over tonight?”
“During stipulated visiting hours,” she chuckled, “yeah.”
“Alright, get him something too, then,” her father instructed before moving his gaze back to the paper in his hands. "Take some money from my wallet. It's in the inside pocket of the jacket.”
“Cool. I'll be back soon.”
“I'll call ahead, so the order is almost done when you get there,” Bella announced. “Make sure they pack my order of onion rings.”
"Will do,” (Y/N) said, slipping on her jacket and pulling up the hood. “Be right back.”
She pulled her phone out as she made her way to her van, clicking on the number three on her speed dial. But before the line could ring more than once, arms wrapped around her, and she was lifted off the ground. An undeniable warmth engulfed her, and she couldn't help the laugh that left her throat. “Paul,” she shrieked joyfully as he spun her around. “You're early.”
“And you're on your way to get some food,” the boy smiled brightly as he turned her to face him. “I'll go with you.”
“How could I say no to such a tempting offer?” (Y/N) smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck before giving him a small kiss. “And you should be wearing a jacket in this weather. I know you don't need it, but others don't know that.”
“Well, I would have worn the hoodie I left in the van, but it seems like it has a new owner.”
“I told you, whatever's left in the car is mine,” she grinned. “Not my fault you can't keep track of your belongings.”
“Let's just go get the food before your dad starts to wonder what's taking so long,” he chuckled. “I think I'm finally winning him over.”
(Y/N) laughed as they got into the vehicle. She had started getting used to Paul appearing out of nowhere, filling her quiet and empty moments with his laughter and wild occurrences. He had become a welcome constant in her life, and she couldn't remember a time when he wasn't in it. “I don't think dad will ever warm up again to the idea of another guy dating one of his daughters,” she teased. “But if anyone has a chance, it would definitely be you.”
“Thank you for the vote of confidence. And here I was thinking I had a leg up on everyone.”
“Hey, he's getting you food,” (Y/N) laughed. “He likes you enough. At least he likes you more than Jacob. Even Bella sorta likes you.”
“I take it you still haven't told them what happened,” Paul asked, taking her hand in his and giving it a comforting squeeze. “At least your sister should know what that idiot really did to you to cut him out from her life completely.”
“And what good would that do?” the girl sighed. “It won't change what happened, nor would it serve her to lose one of the only people she can call a friend.”
“Do you really think he's the kind of friend Bella should have? Should she really keep someone that would have let her sister die by her side?”
“Can we not talk about him?” (Y/N) argued, turning the van into the diner parking lot. “I don't want to waste my time on him anymore—not now and definitely not later.”
“(Y/N)...”
“No more talk about him, Paul,” she said firmly as she killed the engine and turned to face him. “If you mention him again, there will be consequences. Starting with locking my window at night.”
"You drive a hard bargain,” Paul replied while cradling her chin in his hand. “And it seems I don't have another choice but to agree.”
With a chaste kiss, they left the van, walking hand-in-hand into The Lodge like they had done it a million times before. It was easy for everything to feel natural with Paul. Being with him made her heart feel at peace. And after all she had been through in the short time she had resided in Forks, she more than welcomed it. In hindsight, (Y/N) knew she had played a hand in all the hardship that had befallen her. She ignored how she felt about Paul; she pushed him away over trivial miscommunications, and she had stayed with Jacob for far longer than she ever should have.
“Is this gonna become a weekly thing, huh?” Cora, the waitress who always took their order, said with a smile. “What is this now three weeks in a row that you two have come in?”
“Something like that,” (Y/N) chuckled. “This time is because dad tried to cook dinner. And well, that never goes down as well as it should.”
“What'd he burn this time?”
“Spaghetti,” the girl smiled. “And he tried to microwave a jar of sauce with the lid on.”
“Charlie should really just stick to the police work,” the woman laughed. “And you came in just in time. Steak with cobbler; a double medium-well Lodge burger with extra bacon and onions and cheesy fries; a single bacon cheeseburger with cheese and bacon friends; and a veggie burger—which has surprisingly become a best-seller since we put it on the menu last year—with onion rings. I threw in a couple of slices of apple pie slices in there for you guys. On the house.”
“Thank you, Cora. But could I trouble you with replacing two of the slices with some chocolate cream pie?” Paul asked, sporting his award-winning smile. “As good as it is, (Y/N) here is allergic to apples, and I wouldn't want her to miss out on dessert.”
“Oh my goodness, sweetheart. I completely forgot!” Cora exclaimed as she scrambled to the pie display. “Tell you what, you keep those extra slices, and I'll give you three of the chocolate. And I'm gonna leave a note right here so no one forgets.”
“You don't have to do all that, Cora,” (Y/N) said. “It was an honest mistake.”
“Nonsense, (Y/N),” she smiled. “I'm happy to do it. And between you and me, I like the chocolate one better. Your boy here has really good taste.”
“That he does,” the younger Swan replied as she felt heat flush to her face. She paid for the food, handing Paul the bags as she put away the change, ignoring the teasing stare the waitress was sending her way. “Thanks for everything, Cora. I’ll see you next week.”
“See you, sweetie,” she called back. “Say hi to your dad and your sister for me.”
“Will do!”
(Y/N) felt stupid with how much she was smiling. Paul had remembered her apple allergy, he held doors open for her, he remembered her favorite pie. They were bare minimum standards, but she couldn’t help the joy that overtook her when he did them. Paul knew her in the most simplistic of senses, and she couldn't believe she had stopped herself from feeling that way.
“You remembered my apple allergy,” she smiled, bumping his shoulder as they walked back to the van. “Thank you.”
“I should be able to remember the fact that my girlfriend's throat could close if she eats apples,” Paul chuckled. “It's not a fact I should gloss over.”
The girl stopped in her tracks at his words, realization sinking in. “What was that?”
“What?”
“What you just said.”
“That I should know apples could possibly kill my girlfriend?” he chuckled again, unsure what he had said wrong. “What about it?”
“You called me your girlfriend, Paul,” (Y/N) stated. “You've never called me your girlfriend before.”
“Oh, uh, well, you know, I didn't... we haven't had the talk but... you know,” he stammered awkwardly, his skin growing red as he scrambled for the right words. “Is it okay that I call you my girlfriend?”
(Y/N) smiled before standing on her tiptoes to place a kiss on Paul's lips. “It is more than okay,” she beamed. “I like the sound of it. Especially when it's said by my boyfriend.”
“That does sound good, huh?” Paul circled his free arm around her shoulders before kissing the top of her head. “Now, let's get this food to your house before your dad thinks I've kidnapped you.”
Like mere minutes before, Paul and (Y/N) were back in her van, the smell of diner food filling the cabin, and heading back to the house. Just the month before, the youngest Swan could never have thought she would be where she was. With Jacob, she couldn't see farther than a couple of weeks down the road—not that it mattered in the end. There were so many parts of her that had become overwhelmed with the darkness of their relationship, lost in the endless void that came with being close to Jake.
None of that mattered now, though. Happiness had found itself back in her life, and it seemed to start infecting the rest of the Swans. Charlie and Bella cheered when the couple arrived with the food, making space on the table for the bags. The older Swan girl placed the food on plates as Paul and (Y/N) served drinks for the table. Peering into the windows of the house, no one would have guessed all the pain that had led to that moment.
By the time they had reached the desserts, Bella had picked up her discarded Wuthering Heights book while Paul and (Y/N) whispered amongst themselves. It was a rather normal scene for a less-than-normal family.
“So, um,” Charlie cleared his throat as he wiped his mouth, “I did have a reason for cooking dinner for you guys, as you may have guessed.”
“Is that what that smell was?” Paul mumbled.
Trying to stifle her laughter, (Y/N) placed a hand on his forearm and whispered, “Not right now, Paul.”
“Anyway, it's regarding your grounding, Bella,” the man continued, focusing his gaze on his oldest daughter rather than the boy who’d seemed to invade his new family dinners. “I’m not very good at this whole grounding thing, and you are far too good a kid for being grounded. You haven't complained, you've come home at curfew, and that boy hasn't stepped foot in my house since he came back—which I much appreciate.”
“You did say he couldn't come over,” Bella stated, a hint of a laugh hiding under her words. “But I don't want him over—not for now, at least.”
“Well, good. I think it's about time you were up for some parole,” Charlie said, a tentative smile tugging at his lips. “I just hope you take this time to reconnect with your old friends and focus on something other than those Cullens.”
Bella finally set down her book, saving her spot with a clean napkin. “I've been trying to do that, dad,” the girl admitted. “I know I haven’t been myself these last few months, and I broke your trust by leaving with Alice, but I do want you to know I’ve been trying to change.”
“I know, Bells, and I've seen that,” he smiled. “That's why I think it's time you get some of your freedom back. As long as you're prudent with it.”
“Right, no one wants a repeat of the past few months,” she laughed. “But I do appreciate you trusting me again, dad. I promise to do my hardest to make you proud, even if it takes forever.”
“I'm already proud of you, Bells,” Charlie said. “I'm proud of both of you girls—no matter what. All I want is for you to be happy and fulfilled by whatever you want in life. Especially you, Bella. Now that you're about to enter a new stage in your life.”
The man slipped an open envelope toward his oldest daughter while he tried his best to conceal the smile that threatened to stretch across his face. “You opened it,” Bella noted. “That's a felony, Sheriff.”
“Couldn't help myself,” her father beamed as she pulled the papers out of the envelope. “Congratulations, kid.  This is just the first of many.”
University of Alaska Southeast had been one of the only colleges Bella had personally applied to. Unlike some of the schools (Y/N) and Charlie had sent applications to using some of her old essays, she knew she could get in. And it did help that Juneau was overcast most days of the year, given she didn't know just how long she had before she had to face the inevitable. Regardless of what Edward had told her, there was no way to know when the Volturi would come to make sure their word had been made law.
She received her sister's congratulatory hug and Paul's words, unsure how else to respond. The girl knew she should have been happier—it was her future after all. But she couldn't help the dread that filled her as she thought about giving it up. There wouldn't be any human experiences she would be able to live through—emphasis on the human. Once she was turned into an immortal monster, that's all she would know.
“What about you, Paul?” Charlie asked, clearing his throat and breaking his oldest daughter out of deep thought. “What're your plans after school, kid?”
“Uh, well,” the boy stammered, straightening his posture. (Y/N) stifled a laugh as she shared a knowing look with Bella. Their father loved interrogating anyone who stepped foot in his house, and it was Paul's turn to get a grilling. “I was, um, accepted at Western. I'm still undecided, but I'm thinking of getting a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. Still, I'll have to defer for a year.”
“Why's that?”
“Financial aid only covers so much, and I don't really want to get loans,” he explained. “The counselor at school said I could accept Western's offer and defer for a year while I worked with my dad to save up some money. That way, I'll have something to tide me over my freshman year.”
Paul squeezed (Y/N)'s hand under the table and fought back a smile when squeezed back, mentally repeating the script he had practiced the night before with the youngest Swan. If there was one thing she knew, it was that her father was predictable.
“Well, it seems you've got a good plan there,” Charlie said, sounding almost impressed. “That's good. So, engineering, huh?”
The boy droned on about what he liked about the degree when Bella's phone chirped twice with a text message. Invested in their conversation, Charlie and Paul did not notice the frown that pulled the corners of the girl's mouth, an exasperated sigh escaping her lips. (Y/N) noticed, though, and she pointed toward the living room. The two sisters left the conversation about college and hoped they were just out of hearing distance for privacy.
“Is everything okay?” (Y/N) questioned. “Who texted?”
Bella handed her younger sister her phone, allowing her a moment to read. “Edward sent a picture of today's newspaper,” she said. “Apparently, the deaths that have been happening in Seattle that have dad grouchy are newborn vampires running rampant.”
“And Jacob wants to talk,” (Y/N) added, feeling a knot forming in her throat. “He's really persistent, huh?’
“(Y/N), you need to tell me what happened between you two.”
“God, it's not gonna change anything,” the girl groaned. “Why can't everyone just let it go?”
“Fine, I'll drop it,” Bella said. “I'll just go over to La Push and get his version.”

what's in a kiss
stygian sun total eclipse. mc/aurynn. 805 words. gen. ty @stygiansun-totaleclipse for the new brainrot that is aurynn and this IF :)
The first time she kissed him, she had all the confidence in the world. He was there, laughing, beautiful, and most importantly, under her command. She wouldn't force anything, of course, but the way he’d been looking at her told her he wouldn't refuse. She watched his form, clothed in shadow and fire from a nearby torch. He almost looked like a deity.
She’s never been afraid of a little divinity, with all the golden ichor under her skin.
“I want to kiss you, Aurynn,” she said. The night was warm, surprisingly quiet. She wondered how far the sound of their kiss would go. Her hand snuck around his waist.
“I am all yours, my lady,” he chuckled and leaned in. She swore she could feel his smile against her lips. It was war, true, but they’d managed to find a corner of calm.
Right now, she wishes she could recall the ease of that memory. It’s not long after her return from the decisive defeat against Celestyl, even less time after she watched her siblings’ bodies burn in funeral pyres. Alysannyra Al’Teia who kissed Aurynn Anouar seemingly a lifetime ago is not the same woman who now watches him from a corner of her eye, up to her fucking neck in correspodence. His gloves hands are empty save for his weapon. His face is framed by a smile.
Part of her envies how he stayed the same. She logically knows he didn’t, as he was there with her, but at least he’s not letting it show. She fears she is. The thought makes her angry.
“I do not think that letter is your enemy, Nyra,” Aurynn calls out, leisurely coming to her side.
She squints. “Maybe it is. The fucker who sicced those beasts on Parim, perhaps. The fiend who made Aurora’s ship sink.”
“The worst thing this poor little letter has ever done is give someone a papercut,” he replies, irreverent, and she wants to make him see reason, make him see the cause of her anger. “Hey. Your eyes are strangely intense. Put them away or you might burn a hole through me. A guy tries to be the voice of reason and look what he gets. Rude.”
Nyra takes a deep breath. “I’m sorry, Aurynn,” she looks down at the unfinished letter. Sun beats her over the head like a whip, she doesn’t recall when she’s last eaten a full meal, and her heart hurts. “I am simply.. Not in a good mood, I guess.”
“Take a break, maybe. This sun is killing us all. This papercut soldier can wait.”
Nyra looks up and lifts her eyebrows. “Don’t let her know, but I think Samira’s rubbing off on you.”
“Goddess forbid!”
Samira turns her head to look at both of them. She looks exasperated. “Goddess forbid, indeed.”
Nyra puts her quill down and stretches in her seat. “Before you people get too similar on me, Samira, can you go ask for tea and something to eat? Put some distance between you and Aurynn?”
“Do you promise to actually eat it this time?” Samira asks, almost innocently.
Nyra huffs. “Go, Samira.” She likes using the commanding, imperious voice. It makes her feel more in control than she is of her head right now. Samira bows her head and goes to do as asked.
Aurynn’s warm body lingers by Nyra’s shoulder. She watches the faded scars on his exposed skin, the fall of his long hair. This is the same Aurynn who saved her life when she was young and dumb, the same Aurynn who she’d kissed with all the confidence in the world.
It would be far too easy to seek comfort in him like this. They’re alone in the garden. She can’t quite explain this tug in her chest, but her throat burns with words she knows she doesn’t deserve.
His fingers dance on her covered shoulder. Quiet descends on them with a sense of urgency.
She takes, in the end. If she wraps her weakness in steel, it might be more becoming. “Kiss me, Aurynn,” she commands. He looks at her and tilts his head.
For a moment, she thinks he might turn her down. He has every right to, but the tug in her chest grows incessant, needy.
“Of course,” he says simply, leans down and meets her lips with his. He doesn’t smile this time, but there’s something in the way he angles her head towards him.
This means nothing, of course. She certainly isn’t in love with him, though it’s hard to not be charmed. She's just a different Alysannyra, but he’s the same Aurynn. In his lips she finds the woman she was before her siblings died.
It is far more than she deserves, but she has to try.
Punishment compliments the taste of comfort well.

Got curious, do you have any “black arms-centric” aus? If any? And if so, I’d love to hear a bit about them…
I have two that are pretty Black Arms centric and I'd love to talk about them!
#1: The Black Prince
Black Doom sneaks aboard the Ark and steals Shadow before he left the tube for the first time and brings him to the Ark! From there Black Doom creates Eclipse to be Shadow's brother/personal training partner and raises the two of them. Shadow becomes known as the Black Prince, Doom's heir. The Black Arms make their way across the universe, with Shadow convincing Doom to make alliances with the other planets instead of straight up conquering them. Eventually, they discover a Chaos Emerald, which allows the Black Comet to return to Earth way before the 50 years is up.
Meanwhile, Gerald and Maria got kicked off the Ark when Shadow went missing, so they were forced to go home to Earth. There, Gerald did what he could to recreate the ultimate lifeform and also did what he could to treat Maria's illness. Gerald ended up succeeding in recreating the ultimate lifeform, and made Terios! (Shadow beta design babyyyyy!) So Maria and Terios grow up together until the present time.
Anyway, the Black Arms invade Earth and Shadow ends up coming into contact with Terios. Now Terios knows about Shadow's origins and how he was stolen, but Shadow doesn't! So Terios starts trying to get Shadow on his side and this makes Shadow start to doubt a lot of what he thought he knew. Aaaaand, I'll pause there because that's about as far as I have planned. >:) I will get around to writing this one some day.
#2: Little Gremlins
So this is the Lilo and Stitch AU. XD Shadow (and Eclipse) are genetic experiments created by Black Doom to be the secret weapons of the Black Arms, who are waging a universe wide war. Shadow ends up getting captured by the good guys before escaping to Earth and crash landing on Hawaii. He gets picked up as a pet by the family of Knuckles and his two little brother Sonic and Tails. The family quickly realizes Shadow is way more than an animal and Sonic starts teaching him how to be good.
Of course the Black Arms stuff comes back to bother them later, but that's spoilers. If you want a hint though, check under the cut in this post I made.

Spoiler for my next RWBY fanfic project:
Tumblr media
(We all know it's going to be Jaune so don't ask who's it supposed to be.)
Sorry if it seems long because I have to do some little world building (I lied. I have to create RWBY from scratch because the lore are non-sensical & made no sense.) Because I want to provide my reader better quality story telling.
Some changes I made is as follows:
- Grimm are stronger now. The heroes will have to work harder to even beat a beowulf. With a few special one able to gain self awareness and have some "slight" reality altering power. Think the witches from Madoka magica franchise.
Tumblr media
- Of course with the Grimm getting stronger. So does the Huntsman. With someone like Qrow or pretty much any Huntsman older than the main cast no longer be a pushover.
- Rank System for the Huntsman.
- More (named) students at Beacon.
- Huntsman are treated like a Rock stars.
- There will not just be four relics but hundreds of them. Each with varying degrees of power. And most are monopolized by the state.
- Don't know what to do with the maidens though. Any suggestions?
- Grimm no longer feed on negative human emotion. Biggest reason for the removal is that it contradict the Faunus Racism subplot. And I don't know about you but I think racism is one heck of a negative emotion. (They still want people dead though)
- Faunus Racism subplot will be handled much better.
- Salem still can't be killed but she can be sealed. With her needing to be sealed every few decades or so.
- Grimm will appear less frequently and only starts appearing more and more when the seal around Salem starts to weaken.
- There will be a cult dedicated to bring back Salem and serves as the primary antagonist.
- Of course everybody favorite part of prequel trilogy. Politics. But it mostly be in the background until it isn't & the heroes are then forced to make a choice.
- There are other group beside the Huntsman fighting Grimms and they hate their guts.
- The event of Ice Queendom is mostly canon and even part of the Grimm Eclipse. Because I needed something to pad out the world building.
& there's more but I would like to keep some a secret for now.
And yes many character's story will be expanded or in a few case rewritten. Adam especially will be rewritten to better reflect the freedom fighter he supposed to represent. He's angry at the world but not an a-hole.
And that's about it I'm already halfway in and I will post the 5k fanfic soon as a form of early preview.

School was an odd place to be with the Cullens back in town. Everyone could see and feel the distance that had grown between the oldest Swan daughter and the two Cullen children who had still not graduated. It didn't take a genius to see how hard Alice and Edward were trying to get close to Bella, but she would always shut them down.
It was clear they believed the girl's distance was (Y/N)'s fault. Whenever the sisters walked down the halls together, the Cullens would send questioning stares her way, but she couldn't tell if they were filled with disdain or genuine curiosity. What she was sure of was that they knew she was the greatest obstacle standing between them and Bella.
But if Bella blamed her sister for the space between her and the Cullens, she didn't say anything. Instead, she seemed to relish it. She seemed lighter than ever, catching up to (Y/ N)to head to the cafeteria, wearing a smile the younger Swan had missed witnessing.
Truthfully, there was a certain weightlessness running around campus from the senior class. With graduation just around the corner, school was the last bit of their worries. Maybe there were still finals to worry about, but they didn't quite care, and it showed. Their biggest concern seemed to be who to invite to the graduation.
“Hi, guys,” Angela smiled as the sisters reached their usual lunch table. “Bella, have you sent out your graduation announcements?”
“Well, I don't really have anyone to give them to,” the girl shrugged. “Dad is gonna be there, and mom knows when graduation is. That's really it.”
Unconsciously, Bella started picking the mushrooms out of her veggie pizza as she spoke, placing them on (Y/N)'s tray. Something she had done since they were little. Where the older Swan was picky with her food, her sister didn't mind taking the discards. But the smile that spread on the younger Swan's face was not because she was glad to receive mushrooms. Instead, she was happy her sister was doing things they had lost in the year of separation and the time Bella was stuck in her own mind.
“What about you, Angela?” (Y/N) asked as Bella took her first bite, sending her sister a weird look over her smile, her actions seemingly going unnoticed by herself. “Have you finished yours?”
“Oh, I wish,” she groaned. “My mom wants me to hand-address every single one to her thousands of cousins. I will most likely get carpal tunnel from it, and I can't keep putting it off for any longer.”
“We can help,” Bella offered, “if you don't mind my handwriting. (Y/N)'s is better.”
“That is true,” the younger girl chuckled. “Thankfully, the unreadable handwriting gene skipped me.”
“That's great!” Angela exclaimed. “I can come over to yours and...”
“Actually, can we do it at your house? I've finally been let free from my sentence. I'd do anything to go out.”
“I thought you were grounded forever.”
“Thought so too,” Bella grinned. “And I'm not giving dad any chance to go back on his decision.”
“We have to celebrate this!”
“You have no idea how good that sounds,” she chuckled. “And I have an idea.”
While Bella explained her and her sister’s plans to go shopping for a dress that weekend and spoke of the possible celebration of the rebellious Swan's freedom, (Y/N) noticed Alice and Edward at the corner table of the cafeteria. Even with the rest of their siblings gone, their table remained just for them, as though a force field kept others far away. However, the girl was sure they wanted nothing more than to attract a particular person.
As though he could hear what she was thinking—even if Bella had assured her he could not—Edward's eyes snapped to (Y/N)'s. There was a sadness behind the amber of his pupils that she knew far too well. It was loss. It was grief. It was... yearning. Clearly, being forced to keep a distance from Bella was unbearable. For a creature who did not sleep, every waking moment was filled with the girl who had told him no when everyone was expecting her to say yes.
(Y/N)'s eyes were suddenly broken from Edward's gaze when she noticed Alice going into a trance. From what her sister had told her, that meant she was getting one of her visions. And from the petrified look on Edward's face, it could not be good.
Once Angela turned to pay attention to something Jessica was saying beside her, (Y/N) elbowed her sister softly, directing her gaze toward the Cullen siblings. “She’s seeing something,” she whispered. “It’s bad. I mean, it looks bad.”
“Yeah, it looks like something’s wrong,” Bella muttered before turning back to the meal in front of her, her eyebrow furrowed with worry.
“Why don't you ask them what she saw?” (Y/N) questioned, noticing the concern her sister was swallowing. “I can tell you want to.”
“That would defeat the purpose of keeping distance from them,” she sighed. “It could just be something about their family.”
But (Y/N) couldn't help the nagging feeling that there was something more to whatever Alice was witnessing. “Victoria is still out there,” the younger girl said. It didn't go over her head the way Edward's eyes fell on them at the sound of the vampire's name, nor that the last piece of pizza Bella held stumbled out of her hand. “If there’s anyone who could see if she’ll come back, it’s her, right?”
“I-I guess,” Bella stammered. “I’ll ask him after school about it.”
“You won’t have to do it alone, Bells,” (Y/N) smiled, squeezing her sister’s hand comfortingly. “I'm always on your side.”
“Thanks, (Y/N). I'm glad you're here.”
“Where else would I be?” she grinned. “Florida?”
The next couple of hours felt endless before the sisters found each other after their last classes of the day. It was hard not to allow their minds to imagine what worst-case scenarios could have popped up in Alice's mind.
(Y/N) knew the red-headed vampire was still lurking in the shadows, lying in wait for the perfect time to strike. Bella had been her main focus for the past year, but after the woman's encounter with the younger Swan, it wasn't hard to deduce that both sisters had become the target for Victoria's revenge. They had escaped her clutches, and she didn't seem like the type to let a grudge go.
As though they were waiting for them, Alice and Edward were standing by the boy's Volvo, their eyes fixed on the sisters’ every move. Their gaze followed them until they stood face to face, a sad smile spreading across their mouths as they reached them.
“Bella,” Edward was the first to speak, his voice barely above a whisper. “How are you?”
“I'm good,” she smiled awkwardly. “How're you guys?”
“Could be better,” Alice responded, her eyes pleading. “We miss you, Bella.”
“I... uh, I...”
“We wanted to know what you saw at lunch, Alice,” (Y/N) interjected. “It looked bad. Is it... is it about Victoria?”
Alice looked at her brother, trying to find the right answer in his silence. “I saw Jasper, my partner,” she answered. “I keep seeing him going back southwest... back to his f-former family. It's got me a bit worried, even though he says he has no inclination to go back.”
“Are you sure?” Bella pushed. “Victoria is still out there, and she already got to (Y/N). I don't want her to get close again.”
“I promise you are both safe, Bella,” Edward said. “I won't let anything happen to you.”
“Thanks, I guess,” she whispered the last part. “I'll see you guys around, then.”
Before anyone could say anything else, Bella pulled her sister toward her truck. Being around the Cullens was mind-whirling. Their very presence blurred her sight and jumbled her thoughts, pulling her in with a supernatural magnetism she still didn't know how to overpower. The more distance she put between herself and the siblings, the easier it became for her to breathe again. And as much as she wanted to turn back and be with them, she continued on until both Swans were safely inside the cabin of her truck.
The older Swan took a steadying breath as her hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, ignoring the urge to look back at the siblings she knew were still staring at her.
“Are you okay?” (Y/N) asked, breaking Bella out of her trance and reminding her she wasn't alone. “You look paler than usual.”
“Y-yeah, I'm okay,” she smiled.
“You look pretty shaken up, Bells. Maybe talking to them wasn't a good idea.”
“N-no, we had to know,” the older girl said, finally mustering up the strength to pull the truck out of the parking lot. “It's just their nature. They draw you in—their eyes, their voice, their scent. You can't help but be drawn by them.”
“I don't see it,” (Y/N) shrugged. “Apart from their perfect skin and yellow eyes, there's not really much to them.”
“Don't let Jessica hear you,” Bella chuckled. “She was absolutely obsessed with them and was quite angry Edward wasn't interested in anyone.”
“Still don't see it,” she said. “I prefer my men a bit more warm-blooded.”
“You're not funny.”
“I think I am.”
(Y/N) was cooking dinner while Bella read Wuthering Heights out loud when Charlie arrived home. It was the sight of a normal enough family. A single father with his two daughters, no relation to anything or anyone supernatural. They were all just almost normal.
“That was really good, (Y/N),” Charlie said as he finished his dinner. “What was it? I mean, it looks like chicken, but it's not quite that.”
“Uh, it's breaded cauliflower,” she said, trying her best to swallow the laughter that threatened to spill as Bella snickered quietly. “It's supposed to resemble a chicken parm, hence the sauce and the cheese.”
“(Y/N), that's an abomination.”
“You just said it was good, dad,” Bella argued with a grin. “And it's better for your health. You need to start eating more vegetables.”
“I can settle for a salad or two, but you cannot take away my meat.”
“I was trying something,” (Y/N) chuckled. “I won't take away the meats, but it's easier than making something separate for Bella. And, again, you need to eat more vegetables, dad.”
“You know it's my job to worry about you guys, right?” Charlie argued. “Not the other way around.”
“Old habits die hard, dad,” Bella shrugged with a smile. “At least you'll only have to worry about my diet for a few more months. After that, I'll be in college.”
A choking silence fell on the family as realization dawned upon them. Time had seemed to slip out of their fingers, and somehow the future had made its way into the Swan home. In a few months' time, the house would be missing an integral part once more. After such a long time, they had started to resemble a real unit, but it wouldn't last for long in more ways than one.
(Y/N) knew that Bella going away would only bring her closer to the inevitable, and no amount of time would ever be enough for her to get used to the idea of losing her sister forever. Much less to the knowledge that her sister would live forever. There would soon come a day when the face she saw was the Bella she would see until the day she died. And it was a face that would forever be etched into their father's brain when he was told his daughter had died.
“Right,” Charlie said as he cleared his throat, breaking the unbearable tension in the room. “And, uh, have you decided what school you're gonna go to?”
“I'm still toying with a few options,” the girl muttered as she pushed the last bits of her dinner around on her plate. “But I'm really liking the University of Alaska.”
“If it's about the money, Bells, I already told you...”
“It's not,” she dismissed, feeling the nerves closing her throat. “Enough about school, though. How was your day?”
As Charlie talked about the unbelievably slow day at work and the various games of cards he played with his coworker Mark, (Y/N) couldn't stop thinking of what awaited her and her sister's future. Truthfully, she had never given it much thought. Growing old was a part of life the younger girl didn't think she wouldn't go through with Bella. They were only a few years apart, and she never thought she'd have to go through the pain of losing her for more than a couple of years after her passing. Now, the girl knew she'd have to mourn a girl who would continue living after she was gone.
The conversation soon turned into their weekend plans and an invitation to go to Billy's house for a playoff party, and all (Y/N) wanted was to head in for the night. Her thoughts had overwhelmed her, and she didn't know how long she would go without crying by staying around her sister and her father.
After helping to clear the dishes, she excused herself for the night, claiming to be sporting a headache she wanted to sleep away. Charlie didn't question anything, but rather kissed her temple and wished her a good night. But Bella could see the sadness behind the girl's eyes. It wasn't a headache that was tormenting her sister, but it was clear that she did not want to talk about it. If there was anything she could give her, it was space.
Upstairs, (Y/N) could feel tears burning the back of her eyes. She felt stupid for being so affected by something that wouldn't happen, hopefully, in months, possibly years. But every day that passed, the closer they got to the fulfillment of it all. Bella would one day have to become a vampire, and (Y/N) would grow old without her.
“Woah, what's wrong, pretty girl?” Paul whispered once she was inside her bedroom, crossing the distance from the window to her. “Why are you crying?”
(Y/N) instantly melted into his embrace, breathing in the warm smells of the forest on his skin. “It's nothing important,” she sighed. “I'm just being stupid.”
“If it makes you cry, it's not stupid,” he whispered into her hair. “Do you want to talk about it?”
The girl shook her head, knowing the information would put her sister under a microscope, and the last thing she wanted was to cause another rift in the small town. “Really, it's nothing,” (Y/N) said as she pulled him to the bed. “I'm just tired.”
“I can go home. Let you sleep.”
“I don't want you to go. You already came all this way.”
“You say that like it's hard,” he chuckled. “I'd go anywhere for you.”
(Y/N) couldn't help the smile that stretched across her mouth as they settled into the bed. It wasn't the first time he'd said something like that, but she smiled because she knew he meant it. And maybe a part of her would always wonder how much of his sentiments were because of the imprint bond, but at that moment, she didn't care. Paul cared about her, and that was enough.
She rested her head on the boy's chest, being softly lulled to sleep by his heartbeat and the gentle shapes he drew on her back. Since they had finally given in to their feelings and gotten together, (Y/N) noticed the calmness that overtook her just by being with him. It also helped that there was nothing or no one to be angry at during that moment.
“Your sister just went down,” Paul muttered quietly after almost an hour of comfortable silence. His eyes had been closed for the better part of the time, but never fully succumbed to sleep. “And your dad is snoring on the couch. I think he's watching last year's NBA highlights.”
“Well, the playoffs are coming up,” the girl chuckled, her voice heavy with sluggishness. “He's gotta freshen up on his talking points for Billy's party, even when he's asleep.”
“You going to that this weekend?”
“I think so,” she said. “I don't see why I wouldn't.”
“Well...”
“I'm not worried about Jake. I mean, other than the fact that he's barely at home, my dad's gonna be there. He won't try anything with him there,” she shrugged before looking up at him. “Are you worried?”
“Not about him exactly. Just...” Paul took a steadying breath, pressing his free hand against his temple. “It's nothing. I'd rather talk about anything else.”
“What is it, Paul?”
“Nothing for you to worry about, okay?” He smiled warmly before pressing a kiss to her head. “It's just dumb stuff.”
“Paul.”
“Everything's fine,” he chuckled in an effort to undermine whatever was happening. “You have enough to worry about. Like talking to your sister.”
“Way to turn things on me, huh?” (Y/N) chuckled. “I'm actually feeling a bit better about that. I talked to Billy and my dad about it...”
“You went to his house?” Paul exclaimed, trying his best to keep quiet.
“It's Billy's house, and I went to talk to him. That's all.” She knew keeping the fact that she had briefly encountered Jacob was the right move. The last thing she wanted was for him to grow angry at something she had resolved. “There was no Jake. So, you can put the paws away.”
“I still don't like that you went there by yourself,” the boy huffed. “Anything could've happened.”
“But it didn't, and I'm okay,” (Y/N) said, placing a hand on his chest to calm him. “And Billy's family. I'm not gonna stop seeing him just because his son sucks.”
Paul let out an annoyed huff, trying his best to keep his emotions in check. He could feel the slight tremble of anger rumbling under his skin, the wolf inside him yelling to break free. Had they been anywhere else, he was sure he would have exploded. “You should've told me you were heading there,” he grumbled. “I can't protect you if I don't know where you are.”
“You can't be with me every second of the day, Paul. Things are gonna happen no matter how hard you try to avoid them.” (Y/N) could see he wanted to argue more. But the longer the conversation went, the more probable a shift was to happen. “I don't want to fight about this, okay? Can you just be happy that I'm ready to talk about things with Bella? That's what this was all about.”
“Fine,” he sighed, wrapping his arms tighter around her. “I am glad you're finally telling Bella how big of an ass Jacob is. And I hope your dad arrests him.”
“Right, because the best thing you can do is put a wolf in jail. That's one way to reveal the tribe's secret to the world.”
“So, what did you tell your dad?”
“Basically what really happened,” she said. “Except the whole vampire and werewolf of it all. He thinks Jake saw me fall in the forest and left me there. Not that a bloodthirsty vampire was hot on my trail. He also knows you saved me—wants to thank you for that.”
“I'll take what I can get,” he grinned. “The Swan boyfriends have not had good contenders until now.”
“We sure know how to pick them. It took literal universe intervention to get you here.”
Paul placed a hand under (Y/N)'s chin as she stretched her neck to kiss his lips, a smile pulling at the corners of their mouths. “It was bound to happen one way or another,” he said. “I would have found you anywhere.”
“Even down in Florida?” she teased with a chuckle.
“I would have saved you from Florida.”
“Good,” the girl said. “My hair would have never been able to take the tropical humidity.”
There were things they had to talk about, topics they were avoiding for the sake of maintaining the peace in their relationship. But keeping them at bay with mindless mutterings of possibilities would only work for so long. Someday, somehow, everything they were scared of saying out loud would erupt to the surface and crack the unsteady foundation they were creating. But, for the moment, it worked.

I'm fully aware of people not liking the switch from Beacon to an open world in RWBY, personally I remember being really excited back in season 3 when the finale hit and we found out we'd be traveling because I legitimately wanted to explore remnant. Them having the group travel to also make Salem's threat feel more "end of days" level was a good idea. However I think the issue was that the set up wasn't great.
Part of the issue with early rwby (and honestly it never really got fixed) is that it doesn't build its world. We know of Beacon and Vale since that's where we are for Volumes 1 and 2, but outside of that we get no real mention of other areas until the episodes where we need them to exist. I think part of this has to do with them not fully deciding what visuals to go with and the limitations of their budget, but I don't really like when that defense is used because we still could've had in universe character conversations.
Ex: Have Weiss be disinterested in reaching out to her family but still checking up on Atlas news regularly to simply see how things are going. Pyrrha phoning home often and her parents giving her updates on the city of Argus. Jaune being from a small town potientially and his parents cluing us into a rise of Grimm attacks which would be abnormal in the area they live in.
I've said it before but the show really would've benefited from one more season before we get people arriving for Vytal. A season to build up beacon and better set the in universe rules.
We don't need a major budget to build the world, but it being prevalent and foreboding with this constant reminder that our group will one day face it would work really well towards bridging their eventual departure from Beacon.
It would make the shift less jarring for people who didn't expect it and add more content for the people who wanted to bulk up the story itself.

Okay everybody
So
I know the infinity clock arc is just a filler arc for the anime
BUT
I am intrigued by it. Like if you could redo it to fit properly in the timeline where would you want to put it? I want to put it after the grand magic games not like, immediately though.
Because I also find the anime eclipse are so interesting too. Like it was very crack fic feely for me especially with the break dancing gray but like. More on celestial sprit magic and the actual spirit world was cool. I think I want to redo it as well but like more gradual to show that things aren’t quite right and then the floodgates open. Also I wouldn’t have natsu being back the spirit king because it’s not his magic. Lucy, yukino, and hisui should have done it. Also maybe get some other gate key summoners in on it. Idk how exactly it would happen because their main thing is summoning but also in Lucy’s case she never uses her whip enough in combat and I want to fix that.
So I would do this, and then do the infinity clock arc after that. And the. There’s more of like a shock factor because summoners are being put in comas and there’s stuff with the clock, and it would involve sabertooth and fairy tail working together to figure shit out and protect Lucy and yukino, and hisui would be involved too because she’s a summoner and would be targeted.
Also I’m a sucker for magical consequences and fairy tail didn’t have enough in my opinion (Lucy should have kept the scars from rewriting natsu’s soul). And all this leads to the question I was thinking about.
What consequences would you want to put on Lucy for surviving the sacrifice after being absorbed by infinity?
I was thinking some kind of warped connection with time magic and it maybe sincing her life span with celestial world time, which is so much slower. Also should her eyes change? Like as a physical side effect? I think that would be cool.
Pls
Share your thoughts
Edit:
Something else I forgot to say when I originally made this post. In the eclipse arc there would be more silver spirits active because at some point in fairytail lucy stopped summoning her silver keys and focused entirely on using the zodiac spirits, so her other spirits are barely mentioned and underutilized and I would like to change that.
