A Color Unnamed

elderberries, blueberries, blackberries, huckleberries

essential oil pressed from blue wildflowers

a stone, periwinkle or tinted blue if possible

inky milk caps, blue pixie mushrooms

chilled crystal clear water, drawn from a pure source

gum arabic

the eggshell of a whole robin’s egg

iron mordant

faith, trust, and pixie dust

a touch of magic

Directions:

If not already done, prepare essential oil. Pluck petals from blue wildflowers and submerge in water. Boil the petals; the resulting steam is condensed essential oil, which can be collected in a container.

Stew the berries separately in a saucepan. Press each against the pan so that they burst and release all of their juices. Strain the berries into their own bowls.

Slice the mushrooms and cook until tender. Crush using a stone; save the liquid that sweats out and discard the flesh. Do NOT consume.

Mix in gum arabic to the berry juices and mushroom juices until it forms a paste.

With a mortar and pestle, grind the robin's eggshell into a fine powder.

Retrieve the crystal clear water from the fridge, as well as iron mordant. Divide into several containers and dissolve varying amounts of iron into the water, or prepare as is necessary.

Add essential oil to the paste(s) until they take on a more liquid consistency. To deepen the color, add drops of iron dissolved in water. To brighten, sprinkle in robin's egg. Mix and combine until desired color is achieved.

When satisfied, allow ink to cool. Add pixie dust and a preservation spell, then bottle and store in a cool, dry place.

"Alright, that's everything."

Raven carefully peels off her blue nitrile gloves and disposes of them in the trash bin. She replaces them with her usual pair--black, to hide the ink stains.

Laid out on her writing desk are numerous containers and tools of her trade. Her prepared ingredients come in various hues of blue, and she has palette of primary colors on standby to temper it.

What I'm looking for is...

She closes her eyes and summons the image in her head.

I keep forgetting there's a new Pulp album in two days and then I see a review or interview and I'm pulled into the undertow of teenage girl feelings about it.

After all these years, they’ve tapped right back into all the beautiful, ineffable things about Pulp — the sneaky insights, the charged-up banter, the lux atmosphere, the anthemic scope, the emotional weight that comes through even when they try to disguise it with cleverness. She's also kind of adopted Dark Pit as her own personal loner kid, so I think she'd kind of have an "um that's my diseased vermin i picked up??? go find your own, miss??? hands off or i will remove them from your arms"

There's a chance Rin would also be like "lol go for it girlie" knowing that whatever popular starts with Pittoo won't end well lmao

Great news. I figured out what's been bothering me about RH. Taking things the way I want for the plot something just felt off, something was missing.

And then there was the issue of there was something I toyed with doing but was like worried how that would go over. Which was the problem, I am thinking about what other people want and what I want is to go crazy.

I am now saying fuck it we ball and I will be writing this plot point I was worried about and I thought would just be my own hc. No it's going in this damn fic now

one thing that I think is funny is the fact that I have to PHYSICALLY remind myself that Sonic X Shadow Generations... has Sonic Generations in there too

I never got the chance to play it, the only sonic games I've ever actually played are Sonic 1, 2, 3&k, Mania, Adventure 1, Heroes and Frontiers

I have so many memories of just watching game movies on YouTube as a kid bc we didn't have the games, and I just dropped 100 dollars (New Zealand Dollars) on a Shadow the Hedgehog 2, but not only do I get to play that, I get to play base generations too?! on my ps4?! with the controls being the same as Frontiers which is what I'm used to for modern sonic, and Classic having the dropdash after I got used to only playing mania?!

this is so damn cool

and it's going to be the best version of base generations

and because Im getting it on Playstation, I get access to exclusive Dark Beginnings content!?

and I got Digital Deluxe so I get the Terios Skin?! and the Adventure Skin!? and the Movie Skin and Levels when they come out?! and the Artbook?! and the Soundtrack?! and the Jam Skin?! (of course I signed up to the newsletter too)
