Erin Brockovich did not give 634 blow jobs in 5 days so that 6 corporate puppets could strike down the Chevron Doctrine.
#they literally could have just said that companies and individuals being inspected for compliance dont have to pay a fee#it would have been that easy#ofc then thered be people bringing cases about car emissions testing#which i dont think we should have to pay for either tbh#govt. mandated the test#govt. can cover the cost#¯\_(ツ)_/¯#maybe take a hundred billion or so from our spectacularly overfunded defense budget#erin brockovich#erin brockovich (2000)

Car repairs……….ASS
#specifically the vague need for car repairs#at least if it’s like life or death then you might just have to bite the bullet#but in this case it’s like well it DOES wreck your emissions but if you don’t need those tested then shrug emoji#and it shouldn’t have a real effect on the performance#but it will keep flagging your check engine light#unless it doesn’t and goes away itself for some reason#and yeah cleaning the tubes will cost three THOUSAND dollars#mfs we just dropped 7k on it at the last service bc the engine block mount was busted or whatever#that alone made me want to learn how to repair cars#maybe I can become a car person#don’t get an Audi kids. (it’s my family’s car I certainly can’t afford an Audi myself lmao)#or if you do sell it around 30k miles before it starts developing problems#seriously though. 3k for a clogged air tube that only actually matters on cold starts#but apparently requires pulling the whole front off the car bc the engineering is inconvenient#and takes like 15+ hours of labor#like jeeesus#design your shit better Audi#this is a great reason to go with Toyota or Lexus those are really well engineered and reliable#me stuff

i know u want us not to believe everything we c on social media but u r damaging charles image
I am damaging Charles's image? Me? Because I made one post that is a little critical of him?
Well, for one, I don't think I have any power to damage his image. You can go on Reddit (or any other social media) every week and find new negative memes/comments about Charles, and he still has millions of followers, plenty of lucrative sponsor deals, and the respect of the majority of people who work in F1.
Second, I am not the kind of person who will turn a blind eye to the flaws of my favorite driver. Charles is a real person who is entitled to make mistakes, who does not have to share his entire life with us, who is sometimes at the mercy of his sponsors, and who also has had some serious PR training. So yes, I expect he doesn't always tell the truth, and many of his posts are clearly meant to promote his sponsors.
As Charles's fan, I can chuckle at his atrocious acting in a Shell commercial, question why he is posting photos of matching swimsuits with his girlfriend, or call him out on promoting environmentally irresponsible sponsors/habits like private yachts & jets, because these are all things he does out in public or on his social media. And if he posts on social media as if he's on a VistaJet flight and someone witnesses him flying commercial, that's on him.
Finally, if I truly had that much influence, my 100s of positive posts about Charles would certainly offset 1 critical one. Also, the Ferrari admin would've fixed all the horribly incorrect race facts about Charles on their website that I have been calling them out on, the strategy team would not be making dumb mistakes anymore, Charles would stop cutting his hair so short, and we'd have black fireproofs every race.
#i would actually like it a lot better if charles showed us he is flying commercial#instead of contributing to the awful carbon emissions of private jets#i would be an even bigger fan of charles if he dumped vistajet & riva yachts#and sold his yachts#not gonna happen but just testing my influencer powers#really would love for seb's sustainability activism to rub off on charles#anyway#anon you're giving me way too much credit#charles leclerc#anon ask

It's been a week since my cat died and I got depressed and let a lot of housework go undone. Told myself I'd get my shit together again this weekend and clean up the kitchen and fix my collapsed closet and do laundry and exercise and cook real food again, but I still don't want to do shit.
#Also out of birth control refills so I need to go to the doctor and I need my emission tests done in the next couple weeks#😞😪#My birthday is coming up and I just feel anxious#I don't want to celebrate anything I don't want to see my family I'm pissed off at everyone right now

Continuing Adventures in Car Ownership
Car owned for 10 years by my parents, in pristine condition. I drove it 950 miles to get it home, no trouble. In under 1 week in Boston, somebody smashed it up.
I had the car in a MBTA parking lot, and when I came back, the driver's side was scratched all to shit, dented on both doors, and my side mirror was ripped off and smashed. I don't even know how they did this in that parking lot, I was well within my lines and it looks like you'd have to practically T-Bone it to get this damage.
No sign of the other driver. However there was a note on the car windshield. Not the guy who hit me, but a witness who wrote that they saw the whole thing, it was a Ford sedan and the license plate number is LCD9183, good luck! No contact info for anybody.
Had to get transit police involved. They were surprisingly helpful. They ran the plates, and went by the address and the other car was smashed up in just the right spot, so they approached the guy and he confessed, and now I have his insurance. So thank you random passerby! You saved me a bunch of headache and probably $$$$.
But now I have to get the car fixed. It drives fine, but it's apparently illegal to drive around without a side mirror in my state, so it's at the shop. They have to do an official insurance assessment first. I still have to also get my emissions testing, but unfortunately the shop my insurance told me to take the car to doesn't do that, so I have to also take it to a second shop to get that done. I don't have time for any of this btw, since I already had to take off work to register the car at the RMV.
I still don't have my parking sticker or my official title, both are in the mail to me supposedly. So I now need to find a NEW place to park it where my car doesn't get towed or Fury Roaded.
Already owning a car in Boston is waaaaaaaaaaay more trouble than it's worth, lol
#in conclusion: even when the car is “free” it's still cheaper to take the subway#I've paid for registration + license plate + parking sticker + emissions testing + insurance policy + gas + repairs and like...#this isn't worth it

Acoustic Emission Testing: A Comprehensive Overview

In the realm of Non-destructive Testing (NDT), where technology meets precision, one method stands out as a symphony of innovation, Acoustic Emission Testing (AET).
Humans have used sound for quality control and defect detection for centuries, with 'ping' testing being used for pottery.
In the 1860s, indium was accidentally discovered, emitting a squeaking sound due to bending forces.
What is Acoustic Emission Testing?
In the realm of Non-destructive Testing, one method that stands out for its unique capabilities is Acoustic Emission Testing.
This technique, often referred to as AE testing, plays a pivotal role in assessing the structural integrity of materials and components without causing any damage.
Acoustic Emission Process
Acoustic Emission Testing is the detection and analysis of high-frequency sound waves that are generated by materials and structures under stress or undergoing changes.
These emissions, often beyond the range of human hearing, are captured by sensitive sensors and then interpreted to gain valuable insights into the structural behavior of the object being tested.
Principles Behind AET
At the core of acoustic emission testing lies the principle that when a material undergoes deformation, cracking, or any structural change, it releases stress-energy in the form of acoustic emissions.
Highly sensitive sensors are able to detect these emissions as transient elastic waves that travel through the material.
Acoustic Emission Testing Equipment
Acoustic Emission Testing has emerged as a valuable Non-destructive Testing Technique for assessing the structural integrity of materials and components.
Central to the success of AET is the sophisticated equipment used to capture and interpret the elusive acoustic emissions.
In this article, we will delve into the world of acoustic emission testing equipment, its key components, and how these tools contribute to accurate and insightful analysis.
Applications of Acoustic Emission Testing
Acoustic Emission Testing has emerged as a versatile Non-destructive Testing Technique that finds applications in a diverse range of industries
1. Alternative Power Industries
Industries involved in alternative power sources, such as wind and solar energy, rely on Acoustic Emission Testing to monitor the structural health of components like turbine blades and solar panels.
2. Automobile Industry
In the fast-paced automobile industry, where safety is paramount, Acoustic Emission Testing is employed to assess the structural integrity of vehicle components.
