“Can you move over?” You hissed to the silver haired speedster, elbowing him in the stomach with a huff. He groaned, trying to scoot away from your touch. The two of you were trapped in a dingy, tiny, and smelly supply closet, trying to wait out the bad guys. You were both outnumbered and while Quicksilver could just speed the two of you away, but there was no room to actually speed away when in a room surrounded by people trying to kill you.

“shut up, squishing you is the least of my worries right now, let’s worry about it when or if we make it out of here alive.” Peter quipped back, sending a jab your way, hitting you in the chest, right into your boob. You cursed under your breath, shooting Peter a death glare. Not that he could see it, considering it was pitch black in the closet.

“…Was that your boob?” Peter asked after several silent seconds.

Another few seconds passed before you responded, holding said boob in your hand as the ache subsided.

“Yes.”

“Sorry.”

“I am so kicking you in the balls when we get back to the academy, I swear to God Peter!” You whisper yelled back at him. Motherfucker.

“I can massage it for you if you’d like, princess.” Silence once more.

You knew he’d said it in a teasing way, but god, the idea? Of Peter touching you? It kind of… sounded nice?

“Hey, you still breathing over there?” He asked, nudging you again. Luckily this time not in the boob.

“Yes…” you responded breathlessly. God the effect he had on you was ridiculous. You wanted to kill him. You felt his body brush against yours and instead of pulling away, he stayed right there, pressed up against you. God. The heat radiating off of him was insane.

“Peter…” You could feel his breath hitch against you, chest pausing mid breath.

Update pt. 2; Episode five, season one, Everybody Wants to Be My Enemy. VIKTOR, MY LOVE, MY LITTLE GENIUS. YOU MUST LIVE. DON'T YOU DARE DIE SO EARLY ON. Was very disappointed by the pseudo sex scene that went on between Jayce and Mel. JAYVIK SUPREMACY!! ✊✊ Kinda funny, though, how that scene was going on and constantly shifted to Viktor being angry. Again, I know this was probably done to show a difference in energy between but, like... How do you not see the gay annotations behind that?? Also, Vi and Caitlyn.. Very, very cute. Love to see it. AND IMAGINE DRAGONS LITERALLY GETTING THEIR OWN Arcane OCS IN THE SHOW?? They're my favorite band, and I love that for them.

Update pt. 3; Episode six, season one, When These Walls Come Tumbling Down. "He's like my brother," JAYCE, YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP. THAT IS YOUR LOVER, NOT YOUR BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER (/hj). Only a few episodes in and they're trying to kill off my OTP. I know they're doing it on purpose because of the one person who hates the ship, but COME ON. LET THEM BREATHE AND BE GAY. Okay, but, real talk? BABY VIKTOR IS SO FUCKING CUTE. HE'S JUST A LITTLE GUY, OH, MY GOD. I normally don't feel (platonic) affection towards child versions of my favorite characters, BUT VIKTOR IS THE EXCEPTION. Jinx got some reflecting to do methinks. AND THEY TOOK VI?? WHAT ABOUT CAITLYN?? HELL NO, BRO.

Update pt. 4; Episode seven, season one, The Boy Savior. VIKTOR, WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, MAN?? DON'T END UP LIKE RIO. Man, oh, man, oh, man. Please, save my mans. Jayce, save your mans. GODDAMN. Ekko looks sick as hell. Love the design choice. And the whole fight he had with Jinx was great.

Update pt. 5; Episode eight, season one, Oil and Water. Caitlyn and Vi had their break-up scene already?? They'll make up, I'm sure of it (let me believe, guys—). VIKTOR, I SWEAR TO GOD, WHAT DID I JUST SAY?? DO 👏 NOT 👏 END 👏 UP 👏 LIKE 👏 RIO. Yes, you can walk and run again, and it's very beautiful, BUT YOU JUST BLEW UP SKY BY ACCIDENT. MAN, WHAT THE FUCK?? Also, Jayce is so hot when he's angry and swinging that hammer around. 🤭🤭 And you gotta cut that creepy shit out, Jinx. People will think you're a pervert. She got the iconic purple eyes now, though!

Update pt. 6; Episode nine, season one, The Monster You Created. This will be the final update for the day. Y'ALL, MY HEART IS FUCKING POUNDING. JINX, DON'T YOU DARE KILL MY VIKTOR AND JAYCE. MY JAYVIK. LET THEM LIVE. I did not expect to cry when Silco died, honestly, but I suppose he grew on me just a little. He was an enjoyable character. The whole "glow in the dark" fight sequence was really cool. I always love when that's done in animations. GUESS I GOTTA WAIT TO START SEASON TWO, THOUGH. FUCK.

Okay, sorry, I'm slow, but I always thought that they called James "Simon's prize" because of the strength he possessed and ties to the Dark King. I didn't know that there was another meaning behind it.

James was denying those "rumors" when Marcus brought it up.

Simon's followers circle that name/title around.

The High Janissary spews some more shit about it and James refutes. It's kinda fucked up for him to say all of that about his child. I think in this moment James is 17?

James further denies being Simon's lover when Will meets him in the cell.

I feel like I'm being weird about this, but they bring it up a lot and I'm only now putting two and two together as I type this. Man, why they gotta poke the Catamite (allegedly)?

"First son died six years ago" So, James would be 11 or 12 when he became the Betrayer? He was a kid and ultimately a victim. Am I feeling bad the enemy? YEahh and it's because we got to see more of him on a deeper level than just being beautiful, strong, and cunning. (Jyae discovers empathy????)

"No one could look at him and not want to posses him." (Pacat 261).

The first time around I thought ooo JAMES YOU SHOW THEM, but on the second and third time rereading this chapter, I don't think that line was all good as I thought it was. (I still love the line, but I feel like it has more of a negative implication that a positive one?) I feel like I'm reaching, but I'm actually gonna reach more when we get to the aftercare scene (yes, I'm calling it the aftercare scene) and I dunno it feels like he's being objectified at this point. The objectification of James St. Clair. (Wow, what a sentence.) All this talk about his appearance and how people on BOTH sides throw names at him and now this idea of possessing him just make feel things.

"Not someone who holds a grudge against him in their heart." (Pacat 260).

Oh yea, because Will is the most neutral in this Hall. Taking in their previous encounters, Will has something more intense going on in that heart of his for James. It may not be a grudge, but it's something alright. The book made that fucking clear for sure.

They got me with the cup thing too. Honestly assumed it'd be something with cannibalism the way it was a secret and all. James turning the tables and playing everyone like a fiddle is so funny. Even when he's tied up and in pain, he has everyone playing his little games.

I don't think I can fully capture what I felt when Will was thrusting that stick into James's arm. Overall, I had a euphoric bookgasm for the poking. Nothing could have prepared me for that and the scene afterwards. I really hope someone went ahead and illustrated these scenes somewhere (I'm a visually learner wink wonk.)

I think it's too early for me to think about fanfics for this, especially when book three isn't even announced, but I can see a lot of fics utilizing the Horn of Truth for many reasons...

AFTERCARE

I thought Will being forced on all fours by James's magical hands wouldn't be topped, but then the public unicorn pegging scene dropped and I thought nothing could top that... AFTERCARE IN MY CELL????? I didn't ask for that nor did I think I needed that, but holy shit and what the fuck and thank you????

I live for the innuendos "You're the center of attention again. But I suppose you're used to that." (Pacat 268). "You can stick it in again." (Pacat 268).

"Unlace my shirt." (Pacat 269). James... *unlaces shirt* WILL!!! These two are always surprising me I cannot catch a break. I'm deadass because why the fuck is Will getting ANGRY for James in the next few lines??? Will treats James tenderly as if James doesn't have a high body count (KILLS).

"How many times did he try to brand you?" (Pacat 270). Will, what are you gonna do if James had an exact number? You can't even move a candle flame yet.

I was doing mental gymnastics on ways to redeem or justify James slaughtering xx amount of Stewards, but I think Will handles that well for me:

"I think what people were is less important than what they are. And what people are is less important than what they could be." (Pacat 271).

Not gonna lie, I had to reread that a few times, but I get it.

Everyone is saying the Dark King is coming. How many more times will he come? STOP COMING- Sorry. I like the eerie build up they're setting and having James, an almost unstoppable force, speak about what's about to come makes the weight of everything more dire.

James is a reborn and Will is a descendant. They're acting really suspicious together despite being on opposite sides. Pulling more shit out of my ass. Are they like previous lovers in the past or something? Wait but the High Janissary said James was was the Dark King's lover in the past, so that'd mean Will would have to be the Dark King. But how the fuck would that work? But also, didn't the Elder say something about the Lady being in love with the Dark King? Dark Rise, Dark King, Dark... Will... Unless she had a child with someone else. Or wait was that Simon who is a Descendant of the Dark King? I CAN'T REMEMBER AND I JUST WANNA READ MORE RATHER THAN LOOK BACK. The Eye of the world thoughts.

The only scene of their relationship is literally in the Prologue which ends with Lews Breaking the world and I still ship him with Elan Morin Tedronai rather than with his much talked of wife Ilyena Sunhair, mostly because I'm a sucker for the enemies and lovers trope and he killed her, which neither of them expected, also The Savior falling for a fallen angel and vice-versa has room for practically infinite potential. While Ilyena is literally just a name and this point, not even tantalizing hints about her have been given (my het ships being outnumbered ten to one by my in <some form or other> queer ones might also have something to do with this) like we get through Dragonmont about the dragon and The Betrayer of Hope. Hops on over to AO3 to search for that tag so that I can rife through it after a couple of months: Aw man 3 fics only, WOT writers hop on to it.

Rand is pretty fly for a messiah guy, brave, More than He Seems, instinctively a good fighter and Aes Sedai (though he def needs heavy training on both), stubborn sometimes to his own disadvantage, pretty set in his views and in this book alone seems to attract girls the way honey attracts flies. Mat is his best friend, he and Ron Weasley would get on like a house on fire, and I sense that the effects of the shadow dagger on him are not entirely gone. Perrin is a wolf-whisperer and his romance with Egewene will probably be better-fated than Rand's, he is also somewhat of a leader type and definitely a warrior methinks.

I'm not too broken up about the probable disintegration of the Rand/Egewene subplot as we see her entirely through other people's eyes and she seems a tad too much Everygirl to me. And considering Rand's other potential bride, Elayne, is Daughter-Heir to the throne of Andor and the storylines that match opens up its not much a loss.

And Eek Mister Rigney a gendered magic system where The Messiah is always male. (learn from Frank Herbert) and the dubious magical practitioners are all female! I also love Lan and Moiraine and. Lan/nynheave.

honestly, i'm such a fan of the idea of piper knowing she's a she/they sapphic before hera rattled in their brain. it makes the experience even more terrifying methinks. this piece of your identity erased, you're back to square one, especially if she later realizes this. great potential tbh

as for my favourite ship, i genuinely really like pipalypso, and the idea of, if anyone, piper being the one to land on ogygia in hoh and having this cleansing from the idea that their life is defined by boys together with calypso. i think it would be an interesting subversion and way to explore it. i, as any other hoo fan, have my fair share of thoughts on caleo, but i did feel like "oh this guy is so scrawny so i'll hate him" is pretty weak as a premise for an enemies-to-lovers-ish thing. (also, as with any ship, i think both of pipalypso would be bad at communicating their needs and there's definitely versions where it ends badly. but it also at least gives piper a clear-cut want and thing to go after of her own agency, and would bring up more interesting aspects of both her and possibly calypso's character.)

i also quite like pipeyna :) i just think the whole jasiper/jeyna thing is such a fun narrative point. them being weird about each other to the point where they can't quite distinguish of who they're jealous, and why they're so angry, and oh, oh. i think we'll be seeing each other again soon (never interacted again) is also the funniest possible way to make them end. and they definitely would help each other murder somebody and then carry it to their graves or whatever.

side note but i don't really talk about piper much because i feel that in the books, she doesn't have that much of a characterization, and the little that she does have is butchered by the fandom to an impossible degree.

generally pretty introverted, and finds it kinda hard to make friends. chb makes them open up a bit more, but still, if it weren't for the argo ii, she'd probably be still talking only to leo and annabeth.

likes to hang out with the dryads and naiads and satyrs :) finds it easier to talk to spirits than people haha

not to say that they're socially anxious - when they need it, they are really skilled at talking to people. it's just that piper prefers their silence and it's pretty hard to get into their inner circle.

likes to read quite a lot. mostly detective novels (it's always fun trying to figure out the plot before it's revealed). swears on agatha christie novels.

wears lots of caps, ultimately causing people to sometimes mistake them for a young boy

has a pretty anti-drug attitude, but since their baseline was set by hollywood father, i think she'd just say shit like "holy crap no drugs are bad don't do drugs" and "no but weed doesn't count. any alcohol under 15% also" and be completely serious about both

has like a 2007 phone that you can only find in the depths of internet marketplaces and swears by it. it's probably one of those funky models that lights up too

i think she'd really like swimming. i'm getting vibes. but would only go when the lake is empty (something about body image and perception of others)
