"You shouldn't hate on Percabeth because it's based on Rick's marriage."
Oh, shut up, Nancy!
I'll criticize any ship that's worthy of it. Just because it is based on Rick's marriage doesn't mean I can't criticize this FICTIONAL couple and how it's developed.
I'm sure Rick has a lovely marriage. I wish nothing but the best for him and his wife.
But guess what?
Annabeth and Percy's relationship sure as fuck isn't. I doubt Rick’s wife judo flip him and called him names. But Annabeth did with Percy, and I will not hold my tongue to appease YOU. Yes, YOU, because I doubt Rick cares about my bitching. If he does, I hope he understands the constructive criticism and fixes the plotholes.
This talking point is a cop-out and an easy way to tell us fans we're not allowed to criticize the story's errors because you don't like people pointing out your ship's plotholes. You disagree with my criticism? Fine, whatever, but to say I'm not allowed TO VOICE ANY is wrong.
I bet your ass you wouldn't say this if Perchal were written this way. Same with Percico, Jercy, Perpollo, Pipabeth, or any other ship. I know you guys would be vocal.
Overall, I'm sorry for being aggressive, but I’m sick of seeing these arguments. Certain stans think we fans shouldn’t voice constructive criticism over franchises and fandoms. That you must accept whatever the author puts out. I see this with Attack on Titan and now here. Sorry, no. I'm not doing that. As you're allowed to praise a story and ships, we're allowed to criticize and dislike them. As long as there’s no actual harassment from either side, everything will be peachy.
Alright, enough ranting. I'm out.

it's just so aggravating that juvia gets what she wants in the end despite being such a horrible person and then it's an even bigger kick in the pants that gray had to be demolished in order to make gr///via work out
Of course it sucks but it's not surprising. The moment I knew Gruvia would be canon is the moment they both experienced fakeout deaths to give cheap emotion and force the emotional trauma of them both losing each other. Anybody ever peep or notice that? Because I sure did
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just find it so interesting and rather convenient they are trauma bonded from these near death experiences or "THEY DIED BUT CAME BACK MHA BAKUGO LEVEL BULLSHIT" seriously fuck those Bakugo fakeout deaths. The one mf you actually tease me is gonna die and you fumble pulling the plug twice? Yeah Hori ain't beating those bad writer allegations
Anyway not to get too off-topic but I find it glaringly lazy and obvious that's what they would use. They weaponized their deaths as this vehicle to "jumpstart" the romance because "Oh how can you deny the love now based off Juvia's reaction, her sacrifice and Gray's rage over her death" fuck you bro. Seriously I love you but fuck you. No that shit is bad writing for the sake of bad writing. Creating a false sense of tension or forcing conflict to drive the illusion of stakes IS BAD WRITING except when it's done in favor of ship baiting the audience to gaslight the few truth sayers as wrong for denying the possibility of this romance developing.
It's deceiving, manipulative and disgusting on the writer's part to slap the smart fans in the face to give the gruvia fans a "AH HA LOOK WE WERE RIGHT YOU WERE WRONG" no you guys weren't right because it doesn't make sense based off everything we've seen. Gray falling in love with Juvia because he died then she died isn't romantic or the Titantic in the bottle moment you expect it to be, it's an excuse to force these complex emotions to fruition that weren't there. It's like getting zapped by lightning in a 1 in millionth chance, suddenly surviving that you feel like you can do anything and say your truth.
You take the bullshit way Juvia survived her fake death that isn't really death but a lazy excuse to validate everything we've seen of Gruvia to make it's entire existence justified with Gray's vanity over her "OH SO TRAGIC" loss. It's dumb and I caught it the moment I saw it. I knew they were going the dumb route, the ship bait route of feeding the fans their fill and giving Juvia her trophy husband. Why may you? Because Gray is Living Prop the moment Phantom Lord Arc hits the jets and he really sinks after Tenrou Island Arc. Name a matter of importance or GRAY moment that isn't attached to Juvia. Avatar? Avatar is filler garbage that wasted everyone's time, that shit will never count
I find is obnoxious and downright atrocious as a writer myself who wrote 3 novels(just trust gng) that a writer gives in to peer pressure by his own audience to tweak things he never planned on ever following through. Gruvia in my heart was never this planned thing from beginning to end, it was a tease, a mockery, a deconstruction of the Sakura-Mikasa character trope. "HAHAHA LOOK AT ANOTHER FEMALE CHARACTER EXIST ONLY TO LOVE A MALE CHARACTER- oh wait shit they like this one too...fuck. Guess I'll make it canon to keep their views" THAT'S IT! That's the pure basis of Gruvia's existence it starts as nothing into a joke and treated as this thing that was always serious and was destined to go somewhere when it wasn't. I'll give my left nut on Gray going somewhere with Milftear or Lucy before Juvia. I mean fuck me man.
I would give it some leeway or less criticism if it never changed Gray into this character he never was or just completely overhaul all his character elements in favor of Juvia's. To summarize Gray in simple words: He is Juvia's bitch that was in denial 303 episodes but woke up and smelled the coffee. That's the extent of Gray's character the moment it was made canon, the moment it got any serious stock put into it, giving it fake deaths, forcing fake emotional moments and giving off his impression they were always meant to be. IT FUCKING INSULTS LEGITMATE SLOW BURNS,it insults the tsundere trope, it insults the Sakura trope, it insults my king GRAY MOTHERFUCKING FULLBUSTER! Fuck Juvia and fuck Gruvia! I will forever hate it with a burning sick passion.
Because I just knew my Gray was gone...🤧 he was gone and never coming back because they couldn't let go of the Juvia character. Because of fear of fan backlash "WHERE'S THE BLUE HAIRED GIRL" Wendy? "NO JUVIA!" oh well she was a nothing character created to be a mockery of a tired old gang "BRING HER BACK!" okay chill...
THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED! It's canoncy does not fucking exist, it's like crack treated seriously,
Tumblr media
"The only arguments people have for it are "You're a hater. It's not bad. the hate is forced. Gruvia was always meant to be since they were made canon." I mean have people never heard of a writer making deviations in their life or are they just this stupid? I swear It's an insult to call them fans of anything if they can't be consistent with their logic or points. I'm a firm believer of KEEP THE SAME ENERGY! Notice how everyone rejected Luvia? Because it was stupid! Nobody liked a guy lusting over and stalking a hot female character but it's okay when said female character lust over another hot male character. God I hate this community with the double standards, toxic ship culture and dumb ass logic that makes no sense. I poke 1 hole and it falls apart. Gruvia exists as a joke that sadly got taken seriously by a bunch of idiots that failed to notice the joke that the writer intended to make. They only saw what they wanted to but my brain will always tell me that that shit, Gruvia was never supposed to skyrocket. EVER! The writer folded faster than a lawn chair and bended over backwards in favor of that niche, that audience of little girls that are okay with stalkers,harassment,non-consent and unreciprocated LUST! We gotta stop confusing love for lust. They are not fucking same. I'm not sorry if you're sad about this

kinda glad that I use tumblr for fandom & on twitter I just have my own regular account. I follow a couple other EMs who are my closer friends & I do tweet/retweet about aot a good deal, but the tweets I get on my for you page are just. constant ship wars. people get so aggressive & mean. & yeah a lot of it is EHs instigating but I see plenty of fellow EMs replying with an unnecessary level of rudeness that just keeps the cycle going. I also see EMs just being nasty completely on their own. like, I just saw a tweet about how if you think Eren mistreated Mikasa "you are not Eremika, you are an idiot who wants to fit in where you don't belong." Like. I am a diehard EM. this ship rewired my brain. this ship taught me the meaning of the word hyperfixation. but I don't think it's incorrect to state that there were times that Eren mistreated Mikasa. I don't think it was ever intentional (other than when he lied at the table scene bc he was actually trying to protect her), but we can absolutely treat people unkindly without meaning to, & that doesn't mean what we did was ok. Mikasa never deserved it those times that Eren blew up at her when they were younger. & saying that if you think Eren didn't always treat Mikasa correctly you can't ship them at all & you're an idiot who's forcing themselves into a community you don't belong in is like. very extreme & pretty mean. imo at least.

I LOVE Eremika! But it does have its flaws.
I may not be the only Eremika shipper who still sees the slight problems about either their relationship or story around them in general, but I’m going to talk about it anyway.
There are two main problems people have with this ship - Eren barely showing signs that he loves Mikasa romantically and Mikasa’s love for Eren coming off as obsessive.
Yes, Eren may have shown less interest in Mikasa in the beginning but hey, he was still only a teen focussing heavily on his goals. At least starting in season 2, he stopped yelling at her whenever she tried to care for him, that’s a start. I’ll agree there should’ve been more signals that he grew some feelings for her overtime; especially before all the season 4 crap or maybe not go down that ‘evil’ path at all if you ask me.
As for Mikasa, *sigh* she had so much more potential to be MORE than just her love for Eren. Like, she’s already shown to be strong next to Levi, and some extra interactions with the other characters would’ve been nice as well (a lot of them were cut from the manga for the anime). I’d tone her obsession down a bit and maybe give her an actual goal in her life other than protect Eren, but still have those moments where she chats to him about their said futures.
One more thing: I think the biggest flaw that sets a lot of people off was they were first introduced living in the same house. This gave off that they were siblings at first, and that leaves a weird taste in my mouth if that makes sense. Why didn’t they just gradually reveal in the first episode that she’s not related to the Jaeger’s, like saying her last name or bringing up what happened that night at the cabin. Anything to make it more clear for the audience.
After all that, why do I still ship them? That’s the keyword: potential. Plus the brief moments they did had together before S4 really tug at my heartstrings, if only we could’ve seen that more along with a more believable transition of their romantic feelings for one another (mainly on Eren’s part). I love them a lot, but it’s wrong to ignore the flaws with their story and I’ll never tire of saying they deserved soo much better than what their story gave. 🗝🧣
(hopefully we can agree that S4 ruined them)

I hate the incest excuse! Rivamika is not incest! The Ackermans are basically a clan. If they existed in the Naruto universe, they would be referred to as such. The same as the Reiss family, amongst others. It's already like that in AOT, though, but not referred to as much like Naruto. But Mikasa would obviously be a part of the Hiruzen as well. Someone tried to say this about Erehisu being incest but Erehisu isn't incest. If anything, Eremika is incest. Itachi, Izumi, and Shisui were never related at all. Just because someone has the same last name as you doesn't mean that they're related to you.

Also people who always say Eren treated Mikasa like shit never want to pay close attention to when he is vulnerable WITH her also blatantly ignoring chapter 50, 123, 138 and 139
But then even if I said this you all will still deny it and stick to your bias opinion cause it's never enough with yall, either way if we try to explain we'd be damn if we do damn if we don't
Honestly ship whatever you want I don't even care but leave Mikasa and Eremika relationship out of your mouth if you don't understand anything about Mikasa or Eremika

There’s always “Brotp” vs “otp” arguments that occur no matter which fandom you’re in.. 😭
Can’t we all just come to peace and agree that no matter what you headcanon these tagged characters’ relationship as, they’re an incredible iconic duo??
If you ship them platonically (as in a sibling/dynamic), you can’t expect everyone else to. That doesn’t mean people who ship them romantically are ‘incestuous creeps’.
If you ship them romantically, you can’t expect everyone to, either. If someone says they’re uncomfortable with it, don’t shove it down their throats.
People view things differently than you do. Disagree with that, sure. But for heaven’s sake, hold yourself at people’s boundaries.
On both sides, there are many harmless people who constantly get harassed by some half witted blubberers who perceive things only on surface level.
Some people want smoochin’ involved, other’s don’t. Either ways, the chemistry is beautiful. Simple.
Anyways.

That poll you posted had like 200 votes lmfao and thats just from Japan. Eren and Mikasa are more popular worldwide. Plus eremika tag has the most views on tiktok. More than flop Levi. So let me say again, Eren and Mikasa are more popular. Levi has been dethroned by a genocider. Levi is nothing
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The only thing more predictable than your daily Levi hate mails is the sunrise.
Seriously, why the Levi obsession? Is it because those cleaning wipes just can't scrub away the fact that deep down, you secretly admire his sparkling dedication?
Constantly spamming me with these anonymous messages about Levi? It's getting creepy. Maybe put that devotion towards, I don't know, actual productive works?
And seriously, "Levi is no popular"? "Levi is flop"? Those insults are so weak. The only thing flopping here is your attempt to start a fan war.
You think spewing nonsense about his popularity will somehow magically convert everyone into Levi loathers? Dream on.
And your "evidence", TikTok tag with the most views? Wow, groundbreaking. Popularity on a platform notorious for fleeting trends and fabricated challenges? Deep.
And your evidence is last ask, a random tweet with someone's opinion on "iconic" anime characters? That's your counter-argument to a poll that gathered actual votes, even if limited to Japan. The internet is a vast ocean, and you're throwing a pebble at it and declaring it a tsunami.
Do you even know how the internet works? Levi fan art floods every corner, cosplay conventions are crawling with him, and Attack on Titan fanfiction?
Let's just say Ereri is a genre all on its own, and it dwarfs any Eremika scribbles. And Levi has the largest base of fanfictions in Attack on Titan.
Levi doesn't need your validation. Your opinion is about as relevant as a pebble.
Then, if you must message me again, at least have the courage to do it without hiding behind anonymity.
Because, like moths to a flickering meme, people like you flock to the most popular choice, and your taste buds are easily swayed by the latest tiktok buzz.
It's a shame to see a character's journey, their internal struggles and triumphs, are reduced to a mere popularity contest.
I am talking about your grand declaration of Levi being "nothing." Deep. Did you come up with that one all by yourself, champ?
Levi may not be everyone's cup of tea, but to dismiss his entire character arc, his skills, his dedication, as "nothing" just shows how blinded you are by your bias.
The writers who pour their heart and soul into crafting compelling narratives must despair at the sight of these shallow consumers, abandoning well-developed characters for the fleeting validation of trendy picks.
Imagine a shelf stacked with jars of colorful candy. One jar, overflowing with bright red cherry chews, is constantly picked and devoured by everyone. But across the aisle sits a jar with a single, beautifully crafted dark chocolate truffle.
Popularity isn't everything, and the same goes for characters in books, movies, or video games. Just because a character is everywhere, doesn't mean they're well-written.
A well written has depth and complexity. It might have funny quirks or tragic flaws that make them relatable. They might surprise you with their actions or choices, but those choices always feel true to their personality. They grow and change throughout the story, learning from their mistakes or facing their fears.
Even if they're not traditionally "likable," they're interesting.
The cherry chews, on the other hand, are the popular characters. They might be fun for a quick pick-me-up, but they all sort of taste the same. They're one-dimensional, with predictable personalities and easy jokes. Maybe they're the goofy sidekick or the sassy best friend. They fulfill a role in the story, but they're not particularly memorable.
But there is a place for both cherry chews and dark chocolate truffles. Sometimes, a light and fluffy story with a popular character is exactly what you crave. But a truly well-written character leaves a lasting impression.
They stay with you long after you finish the story, because they feel real. They make you think about the world, about yourself, and about the choices we all make.
The next time you encounter a character, don't just be swayed by their popularity. Dig a little deeper. See if there's more to them than meets the eye. After all, the most rewarding discoveries are often the ones you have to search for.

Well that was an AoT rant. (Erens character, motives, 139 stupidity)
I don't understand why every reactor I've seen reacting to AoT is confused by or doesn't understand what season 4 Eren's motives and motivations are when he literally tells us what his motives and motivations are. And even if he's not explicitly stating it, it should be obvious to anyone paying attention.
Eren's goal has been freedom and liberation through the whole series. He starts off wanting to eradicate the titans because he believes they're keeping humans subjugated in the walls like caged animals. When he finds out that actually titans are just people like him, that another nation, Marley, turns into titans and sets loose on the island (paradis) he and the people of the walls are living on he turns his attention to the outside world because now he knows that they're the ones that have been keeping him subjugated in a cage (the walls); and not only that but he also know that they're subjugating everyone of the same race as him (the Eldians) and that they want to exterminate Paradis.
but when Eren breaks down in front of the kid, Ramsy, it's like people forget or ignore all of Erens character through the whole series and take what he says here as completely literal. like Eren just literally wants to murder everyone for no reason other than just because they exist and the world doesn't look like Armins stupid book.
Thats the dumbest shit ever.
Even in that same episode with Ramsy we hear Erens motives from his own internal thoughts being that he can't accept the people of Paradis being exterminated to benefit the rest of the world, but for some reason everyone just ignores Erens own internal monologues. (incuding isayama apparently)
Its not until 139 (the final episode) that suddenly all of Eren character motives including internal monologues don't mean shit because actually his motive for doing the rumbling was 'I don't know man, I just felt like it' 'I just really wanted to see a sea of blood and crushes bones, very badly, man'
Miss me with that
Also don't understand people that act like Eren's character was fucked by him having a break down in front of Armin and whining about wanting Mikasa to pine for him for at least 10 years and not because his motives went from protecting his home, friends, family from the violence, prejudice, subjugation, and eradication from the outside world to duhrr there people out there, the world not empty like Armin's book said.
What?

I remember that on Mikasa's birthday a lot of her stans were annoyed that there were fanarts of her and Eren...?🥲 Lol I kind of don't like it too much when they try too hard to make her a stereotypical girlboss. Just like I don't like it when Eren stans like to make him sad meow boy uwu
I remember that LMAO they're a bunch of losers. As if Eren isn't the most important person in her life of course he's gonna be featured in fanarts (and artists can draw whatever tf they want)
and Mikasa is anything but a girlboss (I'm starting to hate that label honestly) she's a badass yes, a bad bitch but girlboss? No. Just as cabin!Eren isn't a malewife!!! He's an obsessed deranged mf who created an alternate reality just for her where they have freaky nasty angsty sex!!
I swear they're always going back and forth with Eren's character. The same people who claim he's not a "sad meow meow" are the same ones who malewife-fy him. He's not either one of those things!
He's crazy and hot and Mikasa loves him for the good and bad ♡♡♡ free them from the EM fandom 😭

Rivetra was a tragedy of timing / Levihan was a tragedy of restraint
Tumblr media
⚠️ hot take incoming ⚠️
If you can’t handle your fave ship being shipped with someone else, go ahead and keep scrolling. this post isn’t for you.
this is for the people who actually enjoy digging into the messy, layered dynamics in Attack on Titan's complicated and subtle relationship dynamics. the ones who don’t mind exploring the in-betweens and what-ifs, the subtext and the missing pieces that canon never fully spelled out.
So yeah. let’s talk about Levi, Petra, and Hange. buckle up.
I’m a hardcore Levihan shipper (and I strongly believe this to be canon, don’t fight me!), but if someone ever asked me if Levi had another possible love interest other than Hange—well, sorry Eruri fans, but no, it’s not Erwin. It would be Petra.
Wait, what? I thought you were Levihan for life???
Yes, and I always will be. But let’s not forget these characters are multi-faceted. They have layers—complicated pasts, subtle choices—and the plot itself helped mold them into who they became by Season 4.
Season 1, while tragic, still had a clearer structure. Titans = enemies. But as the story evolved and they reached the other side of the wall, the narrative shifted. The real threat wasn’t just titans anymore—it was the entire world, planning to erase the existence of Eldians. And that changed everything, including how our characters saw themselves, each other, and their purpose.
Levi and Hange were different people back then. Even if they were close, even if there was a bond, their dynamic wasn’t exactly what we saw later. (more on this in a bit.)
Let’s try to seal the intentional gaps left by the story—to stay in-character and to make sense of the subtle ways Levi’s relationships were presented in the earlier seasons.
A quick reminder of the timeline: by the start of Season 1, Levi was probably in his early 30s and had already been with the Survey Corps for around six years (based on ACWNR), which means he’d known Hange for at least that long. Petra, on the other hand, was relatively new—she’d been with Levi’s squad for about a month.
Now, when Levi and Hange were introduced in the manga, they were introduced side by side (like Eremika, hello?). Hange was teasing Levi about how if people only knew what a neat freak he was, they wouldn’t admire him so much. And right after that? The hair grab scene. Levi pulls her close and says “kokoda” in that deep, near-whisper voice—and the way it's animated, it’s clearly meant for her and only her. It’s intimate. (Mike literally looked tired of their shit. Iconic.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sure, this wasn’t in the manga—but the anime added it to emphasize their relationship. Let that sink in.
From just this small interaction, you can already feel the closeness. It even flirts with flirtation. Look at Hange’s eyes when she teases him—girl’s either crushing hard or just enjoying the chemistry. And Levi? Let’s not forget that he’s a clean freak and Hange… well, isn’t. So him pulling her that close? Look at how her hair scrunched from Levi’s hold. That’s not nothing.
Let’s be real: if I were Hange’s boyfriend and saw her “best friend” do that, I’d be flipping a table. So let’s simplify things—Levi and Hange were that pair. The two friends who swear they’re “just friends” while everyone around them silently suffers through their PDA. But no, they weren’t together during this time. They were simply them—deeply bonded, constantly orbiting each other, sharing laughs, rants, and quiet loyalty.
Now let’s talk about Petra.
Petra Ral was 19. Levi was around 31–32 (and still not fully aware of his Ackerman lineage). Yes, there’s a significant age gap, but this is just headcanon territory—trying to connect the dots the narrative left scattered.
Even if Levi wasn’t actively thinking of retirement or family, he was still human. And at that age, even the most closed-off people start wondering: What next? He probably didn’t have a detailed fantasy of domestic life, but maybe—maybe—he had moments where he thought about coming home to someone. Not someone romantic, per se, but someone stable. Someone who wouldn’t mind sharing tea in silence.
Now, Erwin? Out of the question. Levi knew he’d serve the military till death. Pixis-style. The next closest person was Hange. She was a confidant. The one who understood him without needing him to explain. She never judged him. She tolerated his harsh words. She knows him well.
…But she was obsessed with titans. She had purpose and obsession that extended far beyond Levi. Even if he wanted to offer her a quiet life, she wasn’t someone who could stay still for it. She needed freedom, curiosity, movement. And Levi—quietly—wanted that for her too. He wouldn't chain her to anything.
Then Petra entered the picture.
She was young, but she was also warm, kind, and clearly devoted to him. Levi noticed. How could he not? Petra worried about him—even though he was humanity’s strongest, this is evident is some scenes like in S01E09 where we first got a preview of Levi fighting.
Levi handpicked her for her skills, sure. But maybe also because of her balance—her strength and her care. Yams even said Levi thought Petra was cute. And when she died, Levi lingered. He stared.
Tumblr media
Look at this picture, even in death, she was beautiful.
When Erwin died, Levi didn’t even take a keepsake. But Petra? He collected her patch, though he gave it to another soldier who needed comfort more. And when her father approached Levi in the street, talking about Petra being too young to marry, it was painful. Petra’s father had clearly misunderstood the letter she wrote—one where she declared her dedication to Levi. Not to the Survey Corps. To Levi.
In Petra, Levi saw a distant, fragile future. Not plausible, but… possible.
And that’s why he cared.
But what about Hange in all this?
I think Hange was the first to realize her feelings for Levi were more than friendship. All that teasing, the time spent together—come on, it was bound to happen. But Hange being Hange? She probably buried herself in her lab, blasting Heather by Conan Gray while dissecting a titan carcass (I’m joking… kinda).
The thing is, Hange’s smart. She’s observant. She probably saw the shift in Levi. She noticed the way he treated Petra, the stolen glances, the growing bond. And even though their bond (Levi and Hange’s) was stronger, she saw that Petra offered something she couldn’t: devotion without distraction. Petra had one purpose—Levi.
And Hange? She had a thousand obsessions. She probably told herself that Levi deserved someone who could give him time, stability, care. And she couldn’t. So maybe she quietly let him go.
Hange isn’t the typical “waifu” material. She’s not soft and kawaii—she’s chaotic brilliance, messy hair, explosions in the lab. Meanwhile, Petra was gentle, sweet, nurturing. The kind of person who'd write home about Levi. The kind of person Levi could come home to.
Hange, maybe, told herself Levi needed that. And she stepped back.
But here’s the thing: Levi couldn’t quite step back from Hange. Even if Petra represented a possibility, Hange was gravity.
He kept coming to her lab. He still sought her out. Even when he didn’t understand why. Even when she seemed to be moving on, fully immersed in her titan research.
When Petra died, that fragile possibility of a quiet future died too. And maybe Levi finally realized that he was never meant for “normal.”
After his injuries, he spent more time with Hange again. And guess what? That pull? Still there.
He starts asking for her attention. He pesters her. He picks her up from her lab, pretending it’s nothing. But it’s something.
And as time passes, especially after Erwin’s death, Levi and Hange lean on each other more. By Season 4, they’re inseparable. Partners in everything. Understanding each other without speaking.
And I believe—truly—that they only fully acknowledged what they felt from the moment Hange saw Levi broken and near-death… all the way to Hange’s sacrifice.
That’s what makes Levihan canon for me. Not in the loud, dramatic way. But in the slow-burn, unsaid, devastatingly beautiful way.
Star-crossed lovers. Never given a real chance. And that hurts. But it also fits.
Petra mattered. Her presence made Levi think about the future. She was part of his emotional evolution.
Hange? She was always there. The constant. The one person who knew Levi more than any one else, she took the time to know him, and in spite of Levi’s coldness, she stayed.
And okay—remember Hange had a thing for Keith Shadis? Yeah. Look at her type. Grumpy, brooding men who never smile. (Girl has a pattern.)
So even if the stories look different—Petra and Hange are vital to understanding Levi’s emotional core. They shape how he responds to grief, to love unspoken, to futures imagined and then ripped away.
Petra was an almost. And with Hange, he was finally sure. But by then, it was already too late.
Ps: Petra was beside Hange when Levi saw them in the mist. We can’t ignore that.
Tumblr media
What do you think? Agree? Disagree? Let’s talk about it. Just don’t send hate—this is a safe space for headcanons and heartbreak.

sorry guys, I'm just gonna rant to myself for a bit about the AoT twt fandom. So, there's a post EMs are sharing around of an Eremin shipper saying Eren hugged Armin tighter than he did Mikasa, multiple times. They're angry, saying it's a misrepresentation of Eremika and that it's "clearly shitting on Mikasa." (Apparently this was the impetus for the "half of Eremin's content is talking about Mikasa and fighting" post I responded to earlier)
And I must ask, how is it a misrepresentation of the story (and Eremika) to say Eren hugged Armin tighter? That's just what happened. It's canon, plain for anyone to see, and it's not derogatory towards Mikasa to say so. Eren and Mikasa's moments are more subtle and tender, and more rare. Eremin has a fierceness to it; Eremika has a steady comfort. It is certainly a slight slight (lol) to EM, to use the tightness and number of hugs as a comparative metric for romance - so, their argument should focus on breaking down that premise, if they care to make it.
It's a fairly simple takedown: different people find different things romantically compelling. So, if Eren and Mikasa's tender hug appeals more to you, that's wonderful! If Eren and Armin's fierce hugs appeal more to you, cool! If both appeal to you, even better! Best of both worlds :D Accept your differences and move on.
My personal view of what is romantically compelling is shaped by being queer, a lesbian on the aro/ace spectrum. Ships between friends, with high levels of understanding, honesty, support, intensity, shared goals, casual physical affection - those are what appeal to me most (a ship being queer is also enticing). But I understand it's different for every person and I don't expect everyone to adhere to my standards.
Someone responded to me, saying: "The tweet is obviously shitting on Mikasa, but you're too much of a fake-ass hypocrite to ever judge anything fairly. Btw blocking me like a coward, proves how insecure you are. Hope this help"
I have no idea who this person is. I did not block them - they blocked me. Someone's alt account, maybe? I just blocked a bunch of people who were denigrating Eren and Armin's bond under a different post, so perhaps I blocked their main. Maybe this was a poor move on my part, but I've responded to their (unblocked) main: "who are you? I just blocked a bunch of people being cruel/misrepresenting canon on another post, so perhaps I caught you there. It's called curating your timeline so you can coexist in peace. If you think that post is shitting on Mikasa, take it up with Isayama for writing it so"
It's more combative than I like to portray myself, and I don't have hope for having a civil discussion anymore, so why did I say anything at all? I don't know. I wish character limits were longer so I could add my piece acknowledging the slight to EM and fully elaborate the flaw in the premise...but they wouldn't take it in good faith regardless, seeing as they ignored my previous (neutered) attempt: "...Eren & Armin were very physically affectionate throughout the series. it's not delusional, it's canon & it isn't derogatory to Mikasa to say so. Eren & Mikasa have tender moments too, just differently"
What if I told them I don't even primarily ship them romantically, but as queerplatonic soulmates? Think it would break their brains lol
Wish I could simply block every (obnoxious) EM on that forsaken app, but that doesn't stop people from seeing you now, and I do want an audience for my Mikasa posts, lol. Legitimately, I've had my post about Mikasa's growth and perception of Eren - a fairly straightforward reading, emphasizing Eremika's bond - in my twt drafts for months. I'm nervous to post it, lest I be harassed for acknowledging the darkness in their relationship. Then I feel bad for saying so, because I've also encountered many lovely, normal Eremika enjoyers :/
With all of this said, I'm very thankful to the people of Tumblr who've interacted with my thoughts in good faith. I truly appreciate every person who takes the time out of their day to add their thoughts, ask questions, send an encouraging like. Y'all are the best :)
take me back to the days of twt EMs largely leaving us alone because they were too busy fighting EH and JK shippers I'm so serious (this is a joke, I don't wish anyone to be harassed). the price of EA becoming slightly more popular on twt </3

I'm probably gonna get shit for this...
Okay, no one asked, but I'm saying it anyway.
I'm vocal about Percabeth, Eremika, Sakusasu, Allurance, Kailor, and many other canon ships because they're horribly written, they deserve better, and I don't want to see anymore ships like this happen in different media. I don't want a continuation of this bullshit. I don't want to know a girl character either obsessed with the male character who hasn't shown interest in her until the very last second, nor do I want to see a girl character be mean and cruel to her male lover and mask their bitchiness as a tsundere moments. Or character settling being someone's rebound. Enough with characters' romance being shown off-screen, especially when they're essential to the main characters or story.
Yes, relationships have flaws, and they need to help each other out in order to save this relationship. A couple that's too perfect, wholesome, and has no conflict is boring and not worth the investment. However, they're shown to work out their problems, and both sides can move forward and still love each other despite conflicts. With these couples, I don't really see that. Either these conflicts are glossed over, or one side takes the blame when it's not their fault.
One thing these couples have in common is that it's one-sided. Yes, percabeth shows that both like each other, but the abuse and cruelty are mostly one-sided but are pushed as comedy relief or a 'girl boss moment!!'
Not to mention rebounds, but that's a whole lotta ranting that we'll be here for decades.
Anyways, I hope to see less of this writing in animation and storytelling. I know not everyone agrees with me, and that's fine.
See you all soon. xxx
