“I’m not you Johnny.” She spoke, voice coated the strange electric hum that came with being an engram on a decaying chip, “I’m not—I wasn’t—a legend, had no importance to them. They made me an engram to show the world what they do to people that oppose em.”

“Had to fuck them over pretty good for them to preserve you like this.” Johnny hummed and glanced over at her glitching form.

V’s physical appearance was buggy—courtesy of the shattered chip currently residing in his neck. Thin blue shards of glitching energy prickled off her skin, distorting her ever so slightly. If she stood near a light source—neon or natural—it would filter through her. The streams of light passing through her ghost-like form as if she wasn’t there—which technically she wasn’t.

He had a sinking suspicion that Arasaka had somehow altered her appearance before jamming her on the relic. The V before him didn’t look like someone who had just gone up against a mega corp with guns blazing.

From the way Rogue had described it, V hadn’t gone down without a fight. And yet the version before him was scrubbed clean of any blood or grime. Perfectly presentable to the masses as a shining example of what a corporate terrorist looked like.

She wore sturdy boots and strong weave pants with a cyberdeck clipped to the chunky belt around her waist. Her shirt was deep charcoal with a faded decal splashed across the front.

Perhaps most egregious of all was her jacket. Worn brown leather with patches adorning the sleeve and a hand painted Samurai crest emblazoned on the back of it.

He had said some choice words about the jacket and how it was just his luck that he got stuck with a groupie in his head.

(She had also said some choice words back at him.)

“It’s not preservation, it’s penance.” V muttered, gaze falling on him.

I just thought of an excellent plot for a oneshot that I've been trying to figure out for ages. Why do my best ideas come to me when I have a headache or am feeling tired?? I don't get it!

On another note, I thought I had written a blanket/pillow fort plot point for Have Some Empathy, Dear but no, I wrote it for THWBD: Rihanna Lives instead. Gonna reuse the idea because it's super cute and wholesome.

Oh, one more thing. I'm wracking my brain to remember UTMV characters that would know how to manipulate code, like a person's or a world's code. I feel like Error could but there's also Fatal!Error (which I don't know a whole ton about honestly) and X!Gaster. Is there anyone you know of that obviously would?

If you're experiencing "Error Code 102630: This video file cannot be played" on Firefox

i've been scratching my head about it for weeks and just solved the issue today - it might not work for you, but i'm posting it here in case it helps someone else.

things i tried that didn't work (but might help you):

updating/restarting firefox

updating/restarting windows (or your operative system of choice)

manually updating the video drivers

deleting the DNS cache

deleting the browser cache

running Firefox in troubleshooting mode (no extensions or add-ons) to make sure it wasn't some extension that broke in an update

what actually worked for me:

go to about:config (open a new tab and use that in place of the URL)

look up "media.mediasource.enabled"

if it's set to "false", set it back to "true" by double-clicking it

i had this configuration set to false in order to get videos to buffer completely instead of just loading a couple minutes at a time and then stopping, but unfortunately this does not seem to play well with most streaming sites/servers. pretty sure it worked well before, but an update must have broken it.

so according to the Genshin short A Song Burning in the Ashes Arlecchino's name is Peruere. seems awfully close to the Latin perurere which means "to burn up or through" or "to consume with fire". and given Arlecchino's association with fire and the House of the Hearth, I think the name is quite fitting

How come people just want to piss me off?

I literally was pressing my fingers to my ears during transition in class today because I was mostly in control of 15 kids for three hours while my coteacher brought the final kid over one by one to do a project... And I got overwhelmed because everyone wants to talk to me and get help and people are being extra rowdy and I cannot handle it. But press my tragus to the canal and things dim down and I can calm by 10%.

Not the kids fault, not angry at them. Not angry at my coteacher either because those projects are a part of their graduation gifts and so it's important to get done. But...

Coworker asks me how to microwave a frozen pizza. I'm using the kitchen microwave. The staff microwave is available. She's just standing there asking me how to do it. I've never done it. I tell her to read the instructions on the box. She's playing tiktoks on her phone. I say I'll microwave my next thing in the staff room and leave. Too much too much!

Another coworker came into the breakroom right when I started my break, put her lunch in the microwave, left. The top of her tupperware wasn't on correctly. Fell off. Made the thunk thunk thunk noise as the microwaved turned. For two minutes. And she just started playing tiktoks. I'm fucking sick of this place. Some people are okay but FUCK
