Happy Pride Month! To celebrate, have some pride headcanons + a fair few canon canons for the Investigation Institute ^^ Nine characters. So many colors. So many references. I gave up on shading because that would’ve taken even LONGER. I did not eat while I was drawing this, I was so FOCUSED.

“What if you taught me some Spanish?”

“Sorry, what did you just say?”

“That's it, Y/N. Teach me some Spanish.”

You, completely absorbed in looking at the pictures you had taken during the date you had with your boyfriend that same day, lifted your gaze from your phone and raised an eyebrow, fully taken aback by Oscar's proposal.

“Spanish? You? You already speak English! English is the only language that matters to you all…”

Oscar shrugged, nervously playing with the steering wheel. At that moment, he reconsidered what he had said, unsure now, and realized that maybe it had been a somewhat strange proposal on his part.

“I just want to understand you when you talk to your dad or your family. I know no one knows we’re together yet, but sometimes when you do video calls with them, I feel a bit lost. I also feel like sometimes you talk about me, and I’d like to know if I should worry,” he confessed, glancing at you from the corner of his eye.

“And why do you assume we talk about you, huh?”

“Well, because you always look at me out of the corner of your eye when you do.”

You couldn’t help but smile at how cute he looked with that unnecessary concern.

“Why do you have to be so chismoso?” You said, making Oscar give you a little tap on the shoulder. That just made you laugh more. “Alright, alright, fine! But I warn you in advance: if you laugh at me speaking Spanish or don’t take me seriously, I’ll break up with you.”

What started as a completely random proposal, with little prospect of a future or sense at first, eventually became one of your favorite routines. You took advantage of every moment together to practice, always hiding it from Checo or any member of the Pérez family when you were in the paddock. Moreover, whenever you were in your respective countries, you would watch Mexican movies and TV shows, and also some in their original version with English subtitles. You even started sending each other the occasional message in Spanish, thanks to the Australian’s initiative.

Oscar seemed to have, in your eyes, a natural talent for languages. Not only did he manage to learn greetings and basic words in less than a week, but after a month, he was already making the effort to use your Mexican accent and even incorporating words that seemed exclusive to your family’s vocabulary.

And that was exactly what, a few months later, turned into a real nightmare for the secrecy with which you kept your relationship.

While no one knew you were together as a couple, Oscar and you pretended to be just friends when you were in public. That’s why it was completely normal for Checo Pérez to see his daughter with the Australian, having coffee and chatting animatedly after a press conference.

“¡Buenos días, Checo!” Oscar said in almost perfect Spanish. “¿Cómo va, papá?”

You, hearing that last word, spat out the little coffee you had left in your mouth and opened your eyes, completely surprised. Checo, however, made a face and a frown, questioning his daughter’s friend.

“What did you say?” You asked, though you knew perfectly well that what your boyfriend had just said was something you hadn’t taught him, and he’d probably heard it from you.

“Well… ¿Cómo va, papá?” the guy repeated innocently. “Did I say it right?”

“Papá?” repeated the Red Bull driver, even more shocked. “Do you even know what that means, kid?”

“It’s an expression, right? Isn’t it like saying buddy?”

Checo stared at him for a few seconds that felt like an eternity to Oscar. Then, he turned his gaze to you, who was pretending to fiddle with your phone to avoid having to face an awkward conversation about why your secret boyfriend had just said that.

“¿Te importaría decirme por qué Oscar habla como tú?” Pérez asked quickly in Spanish, clearly aiming for Oscar not to understand.

“He doesn’t talk like me!” You quickly replied in English. “Oscar has been practicing Spanish, and well… he wants to fit in better so he’s trying. Duolingo isn’t the best app for learning, so he’s been watching YouTube videos... Right, Osc?”

The guy nodded, but that didn’t convince Checo. Still, he didn’t say anything else and, instead, coldly said goodbye to you both.

As soon as he was far enough away not to hear you, you turned to Oscar and started shaking him:

“Of all the things you could say, you call him papá?!”

“I didn’t do it on purpose, babe!” He rushed to reply, feeling bad for you. “I’ve heard it so many times that, well… I just said it without thinking. I honestly didn’t think it was anything bad.”

You huffed, knowing that it wasn’t Oscar’s fault or his curiosity and interest in learning your mother tongue, but yours for not setting boundaries or explaining the meaning of each word, as well as the context in which it should be used or who it was addressed to.

From that moment on, your father started paying more attention. He was an expert in discretion, but you knew him well enough to realize that, since the incident with Oscar, he had become much more alert and interested in you both, especially looking for clear signs that would confirm his suspicions that his daughter was dating one of the newest additions to the grid.

Unfortunately for you and Oscar, the Mexican didn’t need to investigate much, and he only did so for a month to confirm his theories.

During one of the briefings with all the drivers, Checo heard Oscar mumbling an “Órale, wey” followed by some insults in Spanish that you had made up when it had gotten pretty late and everyone was eager to return to their hotel. Also, instead of saying “sorry,” he let out a “¿mande?” which wouldn’t have been strange if he hadn’t continued speaking in English, as if nothing had happened.

You and Oscar seemed unaware of all your slip-ups; on the contrary, feeling like you weren’t arousing anyone’s suspicion, you lowered your guard. Displays of affection in public, though still cautious, became more frequent, especially when Checo wasn’t near you. Or at least, that’s what you thought.

The back of the McLaren garage, just a few meters away from Red Bull’s, as expected, wasn’t the most suitable place.

“We should go somewhere else,” you said softly while nervously fiddling with the collar of your boyfriend's shirt, who had his arm around your waist.

“Why? This place is perfect,” Oscar replied, unconcerned.

“Yeah, sure, perfect for my dad to catch us,” you muttered. “If he already suspects and looks like that doll from the red light, green light game on Squid Game, analyzing us so much to jump on us as soon as he catches us… imagine if he finds us. He’ll kill us, I swear.”

“Come on, Y/N, just try to relax. We’ve got it all under control. Seriously, there’s nothing to worry about, mi amor.”

You blushed at the compliment he had given you in Spanish, and couldn’t help but plant a chaste kiss on his lips, even though everything inside you felt chaotic.

“If you’re trying to convince me that everything’s fine by speaking to me in Spanish, just know that you’re doing it perfectly,” you declared. “But don’t forget, that doesn’t mean I don’t feel a tremendous anxiety and keep thinking that we’re literally one step away from getting caught. Do you know what he could do if he finds out that you and I… that?” You asked hesitantly.

“Is he going to give us a lecture on how we have to stay professional whenever we’re in public? Or is he going to tell me he’ll kill me if I even think about getting you pregnant?”

“He’ll probably make you come home to have lunch with my family and only speak Spanish,” you tried not to laugh but couldn’t help yourself. “And trust me, you don’t want to be in that position because you’ll have all my aunts, and there are quite a few of them, right next to you, asking you some very uncomfortable questions.”

“Then we’ll have to tell him as soon as possible so he can prepare. How about I tell him that I’m absolutely and completely in love with his daughter?”

You shot him a glare, panic flooding your insides at the thought of that happening.

“No, don’t you dare do that, Osc, and especially not here. You have no idea how my dad would react if…”

“Why not?” He interrupted. Then, he stopped, and after a few seconds that felt like an eternity to you, he seemed to finally find the courage to speak: “I could tell him something like… ¡Señor Pérez, estoy saliendo con su hija porque además de ser la mejor mujer de este mundo, me hace la persona más feliz del mundo!”

You couldn’t help but laugh, filled with emotion inside at Oscar’s sweet yet innocent declaration of love aloud.

However, a cough behind you made you snap back to reality.

“Can I know what you’re doing with my daughter, Piastri?”

You both slowly turned around. There, standing before you, was Checo, arms crossed, with a very unfriendly look on his face. You swore that if Oscar walked out of there alive and without a reprimand from your overprotective father, he could do whatever he wanted for the rest of the year.

“Well…” Oscar began, his confidence suddenly disappearing.

“Esto no es lo que parece, te lo juro,” you said in Spanish, trying to calm your father, even though you knew your attempts would be in vain.

“Oh, really?” Checo asked, raising an eyebrow, knowing you were both lying. “Then, what explanation do you have for this kid shouting to the four winds in almost perfect Spanish that he’s in love with you? At least that’s what I understood, if my Spanish doesn’t fail me.”

You were about to reply, but instead, Oscar gently took you by the wrist and stepped forward, surprisingly confident.

“Checo, I’m not playing around. Okay, I was joking about that, but not about what it means… like…” Piastri explained slowly, nerves eating at him as he couldn’t bring himself to look Checo in the face. “Your daughter matters to me, well, like… you know, like a boyfriend cares for his girlfriend.”

Checo tried not to laugh at the declaration of love from the man who had just confirmed he was his son-in-law and did his best to maintain the protective fatherly composure, thinking no guy would ever be good enough for his daughter.

“So you care about my daughter… You, one of my coworkers, a twenty-three-year-old kid, care about my eldest daughter enough to believe you can have a relationship with her…”

“It’s not that I believe it, it’s that I know I do.”

Not only you and Checo were surprised by the boy’s words, but Oscar himself too. He regretted it immediately, but before he could apologize to Checo, the man stepped forward, raising a hand and staring at him:

“So… are you two dating or not?”

“Yes, for almost six months now,” you answered, feeling a knot in your stomach, but much less pressure now that your father knew the truth.

Checo sighed, running a hand over his face as he tried to process the news his daughter, his little girl, had just told him. The girl he knew ever since she was born and now he had to imagine her spending, if not the rest of her life, at least part of it, with another man.

“And why didn’t you tell me before?” Checo asked, his voice tinged with disappointment but also some understanding. “Don’t you trust me?”

“It’s not that I don’t trust you, it’s that I knew you would react badly,” you answered, frustrated. “I trust you, and I know you want to protect me from any guy who could make me feel bad, but you have to understand that I’m twenty years old, and whether you like it or not, I’m not a little girl anymore.”

Checo looked at you and then turned his gaze to Oscar, who had his head down. Besides his nerves being pretty evident, so was his willingness to face any kind of dispute or reprimand from him just to stay with you.

That made Checo feel a bit bad, though it also gave him some relief seeing that the Australian was truly concerned and, why not say it, in love, willing to do anything for his little Y/N.

Finally, he let out a small sigh, trying to calm himself. He repeated your words over and over in his mind before saying anything else because if you had never disappointed him in your life, then he didn’t want to disappoint you just because you were in love.

I’m not a little girl anymore.

“Checo…” Piastri spoke, but Checo raised a finger, silencing him instantly.

“I’m only going to say this once: you better not hurt my daughter, or I’ll hurt you when I kick you off the track or crash into you accidentally. Is that clear?”

Oscar swallowed hard, feeling that Checo wasn’t joking.

“Understood…”

“And as for you,” Checo now spoke to you, completely stunned, “don’t think this is over. Your mother, you, and I will have a conversation about this and several other topics when we get home.”

Unprotected wild sex, alcohol, and drugs, for sure, you thought, forcing a smile to try to hide your worry.

“Now go on and keep loving each other, but be careful where and how you do it. I don’t want to be a grandfather just yet.”

With those words, Checo left, leaving you both.

“Well… now he knows. Finally,” Oscar said, letting out a sigh of relief.

“I told you he was intense. Do you believe me now?”

“Of course, mi amor,” the Australian replied, taking your hand and heading to your room in the McLaren motorhome, so, as Checo had said, you wouldn’t become grandparents just yet. “Your dad scared me, but I’m not going to lie to you, he gave me enough motivation to beat him in every race from now on.”

(a little context im actually quite new to wuthering waves I just got to part with the black shores and meeting shorekeeper. so this might not be the most lore accurate)

can be interpreted as male reader and male rover but I wrote this with the intentions of lesbian action, so like its mainly biased towards female reader and rover.

-the three of you guy's have been in a relationship for a millennia, even if the reader doesn't remember it.

-shorekeeper and rover are dedicated to keeping the reader safe, even if that has gone to the extreme in the past.

-(I have a potential yandere idea, where past rover and current rover fight each other because while current rover respects readers anatomy and free will, past rover has seen just how cruel and unjustful the world is and wants nothing more than to lock reader in a glided cage because the readers safety comes first always. Past and current rover get into a huge fight about it. meanwhile shorekeeper really does not know what side to take)

-the three of you are really into playing piano, sometimes either reader or shorekeeper while doing it and rover has to carry you guys to bed.

speaking of beds, shorekeeper has the worlds most large and comfy bed for you three. More often then not you end up squished between them

-if your an early bird now your not, prepare to meet a very sad shorekeeper whenever you leave her embrace, and if you have a heart you wont leave.

-In the black shores, your essentially treated like a queen, past rover made sure of that and shorekeeper held that up. the KU-robots know just how important you are and everyone just follows their example (alto is terrified of the allowance your given)

-shorekeeper likes to stare at rover whose staring at you when your sleeping. then sometimes you stare at shorekeeper whose being stared at by rover, a lot of staring

-shorekeeper often feels insecure about the three of you guy's relationship, she doesn't feel worthy or good enough so you and rover need to shower her in a lot of love(OR ELSE)

-shorekeeper would love to play with your hair when your asleep, she's a little too embarrassed to do it while your awake, rover has helped her gain more confidence though

and thats all I got for now, I do have a really big yandere idea with rover and shorekeeper but thats a whole other post. I do find it interesting that rover and shorekeeper would absolutely share a darling. I feel like they are one of the only duo's that would do it without hesitancy or bargaining. I saw the answer to this ask and remembered when I wanted to be a history teacher, so I thought of the reader being a history teacher and Luigi being a math teacher, in the same context as this ask

omg this brought me back to middle school days, my history teacher was literally married to my math teacher 😭 but here’s the hc <3 i hope you enjoy !!

- okay so you’d both be teaching high school kids and your classrooms would literally be next door to each other

- sometimes you guys would pop in each others class room to borrow supplies

“hey ba- i mean [name] can i borrow a chalk/whiteboard marker? forgot to bring mine”

- and it would make the students SNICKER because you both are trying to remain so professional and keep your relationship under wraps but everyone can tell you two are dating

- everyone is so obsessed with you two and love watching you interact; shared small smiles, bringing each other coffee/tea during breaks, looking at each other like the other person hung the moon and the stars in the sky; some of lu’s ballsy students would keep pestering about when he’s gonna ask you to marry him and he’d act SO oblivious and sassy AAKSKSKSJ

- your teaching styles would compliment each other so well, you’re so passionate about history and would bring it to life with stories and references while he would be so methodical and so calm, breaking down complex problems into simple steps for his students

- you guys would inspire each other so much and give each other tips on how to approach new topics you’d have to be teaching, going as far as to incorporate the others subject into your respective classes so subtly that very few students would pick up on it

- lu would be so in awe while listening to you talk about historical facts because you’d talk about them with so much passion, clarity and wisdom, he’s not surprised at all the entire school is obsessed with you

- and you’d be just as in awe of him, seeing him explain math in such a simple and understandable manner would make you wish you had teachers like him when you were a student, it would’ve saved you from so much stress and resentment for the subject 😭

- one time you guys decided to team up for an interdisciplinary project, combining math and history to analyze historical data or timelines and you’ve never seen your students be so excited to participate in a project

(what you two don’t realize is that yes they enjoy both of your classes but really what got them so excited for this was seeing mr mangione and mrs [name] act like an old married couple for 40 to 90 minutes in the same room)

1)Oh, I just answered something about this here, but the short version is: I've wanted to do a mix of animation and comics for a long time (a zelda comic was my first inspiration for this) When I started this au it was gonna be an animatic so when I changed that to comic form, I still had a few things that I really wanted to have animated

2 )I'm not gonna @ them to not bother them, but I think I'm gonna end up having the sep council on the bg at some point lmao, this ask is from october and the reason I have been holding it back from answering is cause I kind of already did with the wall of champions on the last update!

3) for spoilers reasons I wont get too deep into this one, but while there IS a defining moment of him taking a choice, is not that what matters, what matters the most is the journey, after all, is the time he has spend with his brothers up to that point is what makes him flip sides

4)I do have a few episodes planned like that! right now I'm following the episodes that already exist cause is fun to see them change with the au, but I also have some that are things I made up! One I'm excited about is with Raph and One having some solo time on the Hidden City

5) "the disrespect" LMAO my brain refused to call him Oneion too at first, but is just easier with all the leos of the crossovers. He's not gonna go back with Casey Jr, sorry, his fate is not set in stone yet but I do know he's not gonna end up in ashes. I'm not gonna explain more than that lol

One and Cass end up having a weird little friendship, based on mutual respect. After teaming up with the Foot Clan for canon plot reasons, One fights all the foot recruits as a training/demostration kid of thing and the only one who can stand their ground against him is her, and of course he finds her fun to fight, cause he can actually have a fight with her. After that they go on missions together, cause they force One to be with a team and he doesn't do teams but agrees if she goes, because she is actually a good fighter and competent enough to carry out the mission

Also, I have the headcanon that they can't use their real names on the Foot Clan, that's why they call her Recruit. you just give out your name if you actually trust the other person, but given the fact that everyone serious on the foot clan is a shady ninja and the other part of the foot are random people, she had never actually given her name to anyone. After a few missions together, Cass decides she can actually trust One with her name

They do end up being friends, tho One would never call it that, at least not pre-redemption

7) One doesn't really think much of it, he knows Draxum likes to cook, he has cooked for him his whole life, so he ending up with a cooking job on the surface is not so weird, and he knows Draxum has to lay low so it makes sence for him to be on such a crappy place. Plus One's gonna have another things in mind to worry about, he wouldn't have brains to judge that.

8) Oh I have so many things planned for their journey post redemption, but those are spoilers, they will eventually end up in a better place

Here I am again for some personal hc abt Sonic and friends, this time its more character focused! I have been cherry picking form all canons bc you can't stop me lmaooo. So lets start with world building a lil starting with sonic? idk

Sonic is the eldest of a set of triplets. He doesn't talk about them much since he "ran away" [really he was sent away after his father was murdered by his mother for some bullshit prophecy that never happened and he's been bitter about it ever since lol]

It's not a secret, but he doesn't go and tell everyone he meets.

He's basically an orphan with no history - that's how he wants it to be. Sonia and Manic check in on him every once in a while, make sure their big bro is healthy and whole. The Queen is unaware they're in contact.

Tails and Amy know his full history [Tails was told, Amy saw it in her cards and weaseled full answers out of him]. Knuckles knows there's more to his history but respectfully doesn't care. Vector and the rest of Chaotix found out through some digging but promised Sonic not to tell anyone. Rouge has several inklings and while she's nosy as hell, respects Sonic enough not to pry unless needed. Shadow has no fucking clue lmaoooo. Basically, it's the worst kept secret that only the public doesn't know about.

That thing about him being from Christmas Island was only said bc reporters kept bothering him and he just came back from having lunch with Sonia and Manic from that very island so he just said that. They believed him lmao.

Sonic is home/houseless by choice. He doesn't feel the need for a whole house to himself, but he does have a room in Tails's place to keep his stuff and to sleep over if the weather is bad. The guest room at Amy's is always open for him and he's even got extra shoes and a few pairs of socks and gloves at her place. The couch is always available at Chaotix and Rouge will even lend him the couch at her place... for a price. Other than that, Sonic just sleeps where ever whenever.

Sonic found Tails when he was around ten and Tails was 2-ish[he'd been alone since he was 4 - his guardian Longclaw dying mysteriously shortly after being entrusted with his care. Sonic doesn't remember much, only that he was to find his Uncle Chuck and stay with him - only to find his uncle died during the raid that seperated him from his family and his mother thought it best he stay with Longclaw - she didn't know the owl had died]

Sonic tried to find his family and found the village he was from but the village and even Tails's own parent rejected him because of his mutation. Sonic got mad and decided to keep Tails.

For several years they slept in burrows in the woods bc, well, Sonic was just a kid himself. But he managed to get some funds to buy a house for Tails.

Tails admits he doesn't remember much before the house, being so young and all. Just that Sonic was rather quiet [mute] and very protective of him.

Manic and Sonia have met and love Tails. They were the reason Sonic managed to find a home for their lil bro lol - don't ask how 3 12 yrs olds managed to buy a whole ass house - Mobian children seem to be highly independent and capable.

Sonic actually really does love Amy, romantically, he's just scared and super shy. He has no idea how to confess but somehow Amy just knows and is infinitely patient [especially now that she's mellowed out in her mid-teens lmao]. They aren't dating but neither of them have looked at other people out of respect for each other. If they do find someone interesting they talk to each other about it and try not to get jealous jghadjhgjdhg It's complicated.

Sonic's relationship with Eggman started when he was 7. Eggman was tracking a weird chaos signature and found and captured Sonic. After realizing the blue spiky thing was in fact just a child, he kinda keeps him??? Like a weird kid he was babysitting only testing his chaos limits and his speed. At seven he was going faster than most race cars - not quite breaking the sound barrier... yet.

Ivo was the one to make Sonic his first shoes since his feet burning via friction was part of the reason Sonic had troubles going full speed. At first Sonic cooperated with everything Ivo asked bc he thought he found a parental figure - even giving the old man a nickname due to his funny shape and love of eggs.

Until, Sonic found out he was abusing Chao and using Flickies to power his robots. Sonic rebelled and destroyed the place he called home for the better part a year.

It would not be the first time Sonic has had bad interactions with adults. In fact, Vanilla is one of the few adults Sonic trusts without question.

Amy was Sonic's first friend! Amy knew where to find Sonic and she was genuinely the first person to be actually kind to him in so long he basically became her bestie in minutes lol [this was a few months before Tails.]

Sonic can feed off his chaos energy if needed like Shadow - but he can't do it indefinitely, the longest he'd ever done it was during the Phantom Ruby incident - Eggman and Infinite rarely fed him so he was forced to use his chaos energy to not starve to death. It fucked him up for a while after. He's fine dw.

Let's move on to Amy!!! My sweet girl!!!

Amy does regular tarot readings and Sonic will even play along. He's not sure if he believes in any of it, but he can't deny Amy's instincts on the matter. Mostly she uses Sonic as practice since she already knows his fate lol.

Shes from Little Planet ofc, and since she's from there she's both older and younger than she appears. I have this hc that Little Planet and Mobius have a weird relationship with time. On Little Planet she could be 12, on Mobius 14, on Earth 16. It's strange and simultaneous. Especially during convergences.

As such, she's actually a clairvoyant! In fact most people "native" to Little Planet are, but subtly so. Amy cannot not control what she knows or can know - her cards help focus but really it's just intuition.

If she trained more, she could actually be stronger that Knuckles, but she's too busy for that! She's got too much going on - as long as her hammer can still crush an eggbot with little effort - she's happy!

Amy's school girl wold crush on Sonic has expanded to a more soft love and while she's endlessly frustrated by how Sonic dances around her without the proper courting ritual, she's genuinely content. She can wait, they have their whole lives and they're literally like 15....probably. Time is weird.

Time for the all time fave of mine since i was just a kid.

Tails has always been smart ofc ofc. He was talking before Sonic found him alone in the woods - having been left there by his parents who couldn't take being ostracized from their village any longer.

Tails wants to hate them, but he can't. Sonic didn't raise him to hold hatred in his heart. He found them when he got older and told them of all he accomplished, ending with a "I have a better family now". The Prowers are proud but it's too little too late. Tails sometimes visits them - it's rare though - he's a busy fox!

Sonic did build the og Tornado and knew how to fly from Eggman teaching him. Sonic then taught Tails to fly after the little fox figured out what was wrong with the engine.

Sonic also taught Tails the ancient hedgehog language that very few know anymore - mostly bc Sonic was pretty much mute at first. Between Tails coaching him and Amy's encouragement, Sonic started talking... and then never stopped lol

Tails makes enough money to support both him and Sonic via his patents and odd mechanic jobs he does. this doesn't mean Sonic doesn't rake in enough cash to cover the electric bill.

Tails is also a Chaos user! He can't use it like Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, etc can though, its more passive like Rouge. He uses it to fly! [Come one guys, there's no way spinning tails is gunna lift him and those wings Rouge have are way too small to lift her weight, they def use chaos energy].

Years pass the bond between you never wavers and grows stronger and the bond of friendship begins to blur and...is there more there? Surely not right? There is but neither of you admit

Why do these feelings go unspoken? You're afraid that doing so will tarnish what is there already

And so the mutual pining begins and by god does it frustrate the people surrounding you and him. What seems so obvious to them is the very opposite to you.

What is that? He pushed the other man to the ground and away from you? Why would he do that? Because he didn't want him to you away. Tomas wants you

Still he tries to help the man he just pushed but it goes poorly. The other brushing him off before storming away and then you two are left alone and explanations must be had now

Tomas is...awkward about confessing his feelings and when you hear his confession you can hardly believe it

He feels the same? He wants more than just friendship? Of course he does and of course you do. You both have for awhile as you and him find out

You come to find out how Tomas kept each and every letter you sent him all those years ago. He's a bit embarrassed about it but the gesture is one that fills you with warmth and you share it with him. The two of you would kiss and the world becomes rather perfect

The two of you never hear the end of it when everyone finds out the two of you are official. There's lots of teasing about how it's about time it happened and while yes it would have been nice to have happened sooner the way in which it did will be story you the both of you will be sure to remember

WHY and HOW did María manage to scare the Cullens to the point where they had to “move immediately” ??? Like you said, 3 of them are gifted. Did they not see her coming? Why did Edward even say it was an “eventful” visit? Was it eventful bc they weren’t prepared? HOW did she manage to get past and even scare a coven of 7 vampires with 3 of them being gifted, 6 of them being bigger than her, and 4 of them being males? How did she scare all of them enough to even have an “eventful” visit? Why do they act so scary when it comes to her? Not only is she one (1) person but she’s really small and as far as we know, she has no discernible gift… like my og post up there was just me being silly trying to make some kind of sense to this huge question I have but like it’s so crazy when you really think about how she’s doing all this when as far as we know she’s not gifted… so what is it then?!?!

I think you’re right that she did her research. She’s definitely intelligent and careful and she knows way too much, and that’s probably one of the many reasons why they were terrified. No one has ever caught them like that before. But come on its María. She’d never visit Jasper without knowing as much info as she could gather about the territory in which he resides and who he resides with. This is just normal to her. She spent her whole life in an environment that taught her how to protect herself in even the smallest ways, and gathering information about the place you’re going and the strangers you’ll meet instead of going in blind is basic strategy 101 to her lol.

And that’s honestly crazy. Like I said before, I’m sure Meyer didn’t intend for it to look this way but that’s how it looks when you just think about it! She’s the type of character that is always 3 steps ahead and it shows. The fact that she even managed to scare away gifted vampires is insane. It really makes you wonder if she’s learned to get past gifted vampires what with her experience of dealing with so many different vampires in her 100+ years of a literal vampire war. Imagine how many gifted vampires she could have possibly come across. It’s amazing she’s survived so long in general… but when you think about how she likely encountered gifted vamps too and STILL survived is crazy. She really is something different and I think that’s why people who know her (Jasper) or know of her (Edward)… there’s always this element they have when speaking of her where they recognize how dangerous (and smart) she is.

Edward says so himself: “Maria was undeniably dangerous.”

Just how dangerous is she if a literal mind reader, a psychic, and an emotion manipulator are afraid to face her?

María gift idea: Strong Mental Strength/Defiance 🎆

I came up with this headcanon/gift idea on a whim, but the more I thought about it, the more it started to make sense.

María’s gift could be derived from a special trait I believe she had developed from her human life. Enhanced Mental Strength that becomes an Enhanced version of literal Defiance. She defies everything she wants to. She was always seen as a problem child because she was so damn unpredictable, clever, and most of all… Defiant. If she didn’t want it, it didn’t happen or it struggled to happen.

She always fought. She fought against a lot as a human, went through a lot that taught her to be resilient, resourceful, non-malleable etc... You cannot manipulate her in any way, mentally, physically, emotionally… if she doesn’t want it, it will not happen or it will have a damn hard time happening.

It’s almost as if she created or gained this gift as the result of a form of offensive protection for herself after living the life she had with the experiences she’s been dealt with.

She is Internal Strength to the Core. Defiance to the Core. Defiance Personified.

✨🌹Headcanons🌹✨

• Her gift itself is mostly uncontrollable (just like her lol). She has tried controlling it, and has even managed to get a bit of a grip on it. Over time, she learns more and more about it the more she focuses on it. But for the most part, it works even if she wants it to or not.

• It works best whenever she feels strongly about anything. If it’s something she feels strongly about, it will work at it’s best. If it’s something she’s more neutral about, it can waver. If it’s something she doesn’t mind at all, it will only have a very minimal but noticeable affect.

• For example, if she really doesn’t want anyone invading her privacy, she will become more defiant, push people away when her privacy is at risk, anyone’s attempts at gaining any private information about her will fail. However, if she really doesn’t care about her privacy at any point, then people will have an easier time accessing anything about her that would be deemed private, She’ll be a little less reserved when privacy is at stake, less defiant.

• Jasper had always noticed that working his gift on María was a lot harder than it was on other people

• He’d have to use twice as much force just to see even a little bit of change in her. But, if she happened to know that he was using it on her at that time, and didn’t like it, it would cease to work altogether. It always confused and fascinated him. She was the only person he had trouble forcing his gift upon.

• This is where he became a little afraid of her. He figured that if he could control the newborns and enemies so well, he could control her too… He was sorely mistaken. She’s unlike anything he’s ever seen. Unlike anyone he’s ever met.

• She’s very hard to manipulate and extremely hard to predict. You just never know with her. She’s like a very powerful force. She does what she wants and that could be anything and rarely does anything get in her way. If she won’t allow it, it won’t happen. If she doesn’t want it, then whatever “it” is will have a hard time trying to get to her. She is “Defiance” to the core.

• I headcanon that Jasper was the one that ushered the Cullens out of Calgary so fast. He doesn’t want the Cullens to find out about her gift lest they become even more fearful of her.

• This could be the reason why Edward says they had to “move immediately.” and why he describes the incident as “an eventful visit”. Not only did they have to rush out of there but they also didn’t see María coming. They know she’s extremely dangerous and unpredictable, they weren’t prepared…. and that terrified them. She showed up and they didn’t/couldn’t detect her at all, Alice didn’t see her, Edward didn’t hear her. Nobody knew anything. It was by total surprise

• Because it was so surprising, and because they were already freaked about the fact that they did not detect her. They had no idea why she could be there, no time to plan. Afraid of the danger she posed, they assumed she was there for trouble. So they quickly left the area

• Jasper, knowing her, and knowing she wasn’t there to attack (or else she would have brought an army) eventually found out her reason for visiting him after speaking with her privately and then politely telling her to keep her distance. So as to not scare the rest and to keep them from finding out about her ability.

• Should any one of them ask why they could not detect her, Jasper will interject. “She’s very crafty. So she managed to find a way to get around it this time. Nothing more to it.”

• This could explain why Jasper keeps his relations with her and the Cullens separate. He doesn’t want them knowing of her gift. When he talks about her, he only speaks in a general gist of things. He leaves the juicy details about her (and his time with her) out of it. He doesn’t want them knowing much about her because she doesn’t want them to know much about her. So he gives very little info away when it comes to her.

• I headcanon that María herself first discovered this gift because of her run in with the Volturi which I believe she had at one point due to the wars

• Thinking to punish her, they had Jane use her gift on María and María drops like expected, but then everyone including María notices that she is able to fight through it. Because she really doesn’t want to succumb to it. She HATES being vulnerable in any way. In her mind, she says to herself, “You’ve fought through worse than this. This cannot be your end. Get up. Fight.” Everyone watches as she, shakily, stands right back up, ready to defend herself even while still feeling the pain, defying Janes fire…

• She then killed the “first line of defense” fighter in their guard.

• The Volturi left her alone after that. This could be a reason why they don’t bother her at all and leave Mexico to her, even tho she continues doing what she’s been doing, although on a lesser scale. It may also explain why she seems to have no regard for the Volturi.

• She knows just as well as they know. She is ruled by No One.

Again, She is Defiance to the Core. Defiance Personified. Deriving from extreme mental strength. A trait she gained throughout her difficult human life, a trait that exemplified in her Vampire change.

But anyway, Morgott. My absolutely favourite of favourites of all ER characters...

favorite thing about them

First of all, Morgott is such a beautifully contradictory character. He's a demigod shardbearer and a cursed being, a proud monarch and a monster in his own eyes, a defender of all that is holy and a warlock shrouded in illusions. And all these things are actually logical and completely understandable given his story. Because, above everything else, Morgott is a broken creature, not as a result of his own deeds or guilts, but because of the things beyond his control, some ancient sins and crimes he's not aware of, some old vengeance that existed even before he was born. And this break, this pain, is a spiral, you know? Morgott hates his nature because he was convinced he's a monster, he supports the system that oppresses him because he believes that he's oppressed rightfully and this system is the best remaining option for the world as a whole, even if he and people like him have to suffer for it, and in doing so he causes even more harm, more oppression and misery for himself and everyone around. I love how he's a loyal, determined, faithful person, and this is exactly what makes him a villain in the story. He's an extremely tragic character, but completely consistent in his tragedy, his brokenness, and I have a deep weakness for broken things.

least favorite thing about them

I don't think there's anything I don't like about him as a character, I mean, he's certainly not flawless, but his flaws are what make him so interesting in the first place. So I say that my least favourite thing is his bossfight. Don't get me wrong, Morgott is one of my favourite FromSoft bosses in general, but I have a feeling that they made his moveset (super-complex and interesting) first, then remembered he's a mandatory mid-game boss and panicked to balance him to this level by drastically reducing his damage and hp.

I could write Mohg or Godwyn here and it would be legit, but allow me to be more exotic this time and mention Malenia. They have many things in common, if you think about it: two cursed, yet somewhat noble beings, bitterly determined and endlessly loyal to their masters of choice. I can absolutely see how they can respect and understand each other, even if not sharing each other's cause. I also love the idea of a young, sick, not-yet-swordmaster Malenia and her Cool Big Brother Morgott, the only person around who takes her seriously.

Mohg! I just can't see them as a pairing, their sibling relationships is everything to me. I'm also not a fan of Tarnished/Morgott, mainly because most of such arts/fics imply some level of self-indulgence and this just doesn't work for me (though I've seen several very cool works with this pairing too).

Tate has every issue of stoic magazine that Backle has gifted him, he doesn't admit it but he loves the fact that Buckle always remembers to buy him the latest issue

Backle couldn't buy Tate a specific issue because of some random reason, so Tate bought it himself but never read it, he had been reading it because they were gifts and he didn't even realize

Backle tries to help Mcgucket a bit after discovering he is Tate's dad, he went from just letting him be to actively worrying about him

Backle has gotten rid of anomalies with basically a rolled up newspaper, just hitting it while saying "I thought I got rid of these things when I moved away from Australia" just done with everything

Darling Seren, hello! Just wanted to say, again, how much I ADORE When Words Fall Silent and how much it made me explore an angstier, post-turning Naliz route! And no, you're not remembering wrong, friend! It was actually more Masabeth centred but I love the added angst that comes for N, who probably knows that losing the MC is inevitable, either to old age or to their vampirism

The small fic I wrote yesterday helped me get more into Liz's head and how she really feels about turning and being a vampire in general. I think both she and Nate have that need to cling to human life and the world beyond the Agency in common but Liz just. Acts out. A lot.

And Nate desperately tries to understand and be there, but as long as both Adam and Nate play the voices of reason, she can't let go of her pain.

I see Liz initiating the breakup and it's a huge surprise for Nate, and Liz too because Liz does think of Nate and the team as her strength during that hard time. She knows they've done their best, and protected her as much as they were able to, but she still has to give up everything and everyone she loves, especially her first home. Nate does ask her to rethink things and maybe they could try something different but Liz doesn't let him talk her into it. She doesn't just breakup with him because it's all so complicated and messy now, she's also scared of the rage and grief she feels. She doesn't want Nate to feel responsible, or worse, think that he's not a good part of her life. She's incredibly self-aware and knows she's become a horrible, seething ball of anger and she doesn't want to say or do something she can't take back

She breaks up with Nate and leaves the Agency, I hc maybe she stays with the maa-alused for a while because she can finally stop caring more about not hurting the team and just being angry. She misses him terribly, cries for the first three months, and afterwards, just a single mention of him has tears welling in her eyes. She does handle it well though, she can actually feel and be sad, angry, damaged and not worry about hurting Nate or the team in the process

I think Nate would take it badly in the beginning, even hoping he could go with her but Liz chooses otherwise. Especially since Liz goes no contact, he's left with small updates through one of the Agents and that's that. He doesn't want to upset her by following her and of course, respects her boundaries, but he is heartbroken. He feels doomed, in a sense, bound to lose her either to death or this transformation.

They stay apart for five years, Nate writing letters he can't send, Liz keeping her wedding ring close to her heart, wearing it on a chain.

They do find each other again, after those long, terrible five years, and it's purely a coincidence (coincidence, Liz would say. Fate, Nate would correct). Nate's on break, in a small town in Italy and he hears her before he sees her, and when he turns around, she's looking at him. Finally smiling

Forgive me if some of these are repeats, I dont remember what I did on the first two lists LOLOL also I am gonna do a few with my Pentious fan kid Adelaide, but I'll indicate where that starts

Snuggle bug. Pentious craves physical touch and comfort CONSTANTLY, which Cherri enjoys giving.

If you put them in a room together and lock the door there is a good 80% chance they will find out how to make a bomb out of carpet fuzz and drywall

They are big on PDA, but they- and everyone really- dont really notice it. They love giving quick kisses to each other, Cherri often finds her seat all cuddled up in Pentious's lap. It is a normal thing at the hotel, no one thinks much of it.

Cherri isn't interested in getting redeemed, which is something that Pentious 100% respects. They make it work

Adelaide stuff starts here! (Little bit of info: they are pents kids who were angels and he reunited with them in heaven. Adelaide is 3. As I said, it’s mainly from my bad memory of that arc, so a lot might be inaccurate and I might change a few when I’ll get to that part in my rewatch/reread.
